It's been two days since Ozzy and Strut kidnapped Littlefoot and Longtail. The two egg eaters tied a vine around both their necks to prevent them from escaping, and have been dragging them to the Stone of Cold Fire. Of course, Ozzy knows that the Smoking Mountain is almost impossible to climb, and carrying the two kids would only hinder him in their quest. He starts to wonder if he and Strut should just get rid of them once and for all, but then he comes up with another idea and decides to keep them around, for now.
Meanwhile, back in the great Valley, Cera and Chomper have noticed that Littlefoot and Zaine, along with some others, have been missing for three days. They begin to worry about where they could possible be, but to keep the adults calm they tell them that they are all out playing. Somehow, this lie works, but Cera realizes that sooner or later they are going to figure out that they are gone. Cera and Chomper decide to go on her own to find them, but Cera's cousin tags along with her.
The three of them eventually find Zaine's group. Chomper is glad to see Ducky and Zaine are safe, but then Cera asks where Littlefoot and Longtail are. Zaine explains to her what happened, and this only enfuriates her. She begins to blame Zaine for the whole thing and begins to rant on about the stone being fake. Of course, Zaine counters and tries to explain what he's seen, but Cera now hates him for what's happened to Littlefoot and Longtail. Of course, Chomper believes Zaine entirely and tries to back him up.
Cera is not the only one who now holds a grudge against Zaine. Longtail's uncle, Cyrix, also feels that it was Zaine's fault that his nephew was even thinking about going on this journey. He tends to avoid Zaine for the majority of the time, but will throw in a remark every now and then. Mim, Vylor, and Argaya on the other hand do not blame Zaine for anything that happened, but they try to publicly stay out of the whole argument. Zaine realizes that the only way to make everybody happy again is to save Littlefoot and Longtail and personally take care of Ozzy and Strut. He just hoped that Littlefoot and Longtail would forgive him for getting them even more involved into this mess.

High above the Great Valley a small dark shape flapped its wings and circled, as if it was unsure of what to do. When two flyers came into view the dark shape quickly swooped away.
Heading towards her nest, Soar thought carefully to herself. Despite having been alone for all this time, even her youthful instincts could tell her something was happening down in the valley. Something was stirring everything up in a way it hadn't been stirred in a long time.
Coming to a graceful landing in a small cave in the peak of one of the many cliffs surrounding the great valley, Soar sat alone, and thought.

Meanwhile, the group had taken a break to get some food and water. Zaine kept to himself and away from Cyrix and Cera. He ate some leaves off of a bush and looked out into the sky silently. "I swear I'll get you back. If I have to die trying, then so be it."
Chomper began to hungrily chase a fly around, weaving in and out of the group. He finally caught it snd ate it. Smiling, he looked around at the others. "I don't know how you guys are able to eat that green stuff. It's so... gross!"

Dante walked quietly up to Zaine, standing behind him and saying...
"Zaine. Know this. I do blame you for getting Longtail and Littlefoot captured. I suppose that I even despise you for it. But Longtail trusted you, so that means that I trust you, too. I'll...do whatever I can to help you..."
Meanwhile, Virgil and Motochika were sitting with the group, and when Chomper commented on the other's taste in food, Motochika laughed...
"Well, I suppose that it is an...acquired taste, Chomper. It is much like how I got used to living with others, and living in peace."

Mim nods, "Gross to a sharptooth. But it seems some are able to eat only green food, some only meat, and others can eat both. I sometimes do wonder why things are like this. " she thinks to herself then starts going over some of her observations, ones she's never mentioned to anyone else and some conclusions she has had and also some thoughts. She does this while eating some green leaves. She would sometimes eat some of the crawlers and other things, but not while any plant eaters were around to see her, knowing they find it gross. She does gather any crawlers she finds to give to Chomper who is unable to eat any green food.
"Here, you may like some of these. Quite tasty." Mim says offering some crawlers to Chomper she has gathered.
Petrie is on a limb of a short tree. He eats some of the leaves and pulls off others to drop to the ground below so Ducky, and any one else who wishes but can't reach, can eat them.
"Petrie worry about them." He said concern in his voice.
Ducky finished eating one of the leaves fluttering down to the ground from Petrie dropping them, offering some of the others to others nearby, except for Chomper who she knows dislikes such things. She looks up to Petrie.
"Do not worry Petrie, we will rescue them. Things will turn out ok, yep, yep, yep." She said nodding trying to reassure Petrie, herself and anyone else nearby.
Mim nods in agreement. "I'm sure they are both well. They are to valuable to them to be harmed. Those to may not be very smart but they are not stupid, not to stupid anyway. Though if they were smart they'd not have taken any captives since it tends to... end unpleasantly for those who take captives. We'll get them both back, and deal with those egg eaters." She said keeping herself as calm as she could knowing remaining as calm as one could would help her to think better when the times needed it.

(Here we go)
Mitch just finished his daily exercise. Feeling abit tired, he walks over to the river to have drink.
At the river, he notice two female longnecks. One of them is his secret love.
They're looking his way. He takes a deep breath, stretches his body and tail, showing his muscles.
No luck today, the two gals burst into laughter. Mitch feelt like a whole herd of trrehorns had been running him over.
He lowers his head and walks slowly for the forest, hoping to find some nice snack to cheer him up.
On the way, he recognize a group of other dinosaurs (chomper, petrie, mim, ducky...) he walks their way.

All of Shera's friends had to stay home this day, they were ill or had to help their parents. She felt a bit lonely and went out searching for some company. She sees a group of dinosaurs, and sees a longneck walking towards the group. They must a bit younger she thought. She kept on watching the group from a distance, too shy to introduce herself.

Zaine turned towards Dante. "Despite your anger towards me, I thank you for wanting to help me, but keep one thing in mind. I didn't want any of this to happen. I can tell you Longtail and Littlefoot wouldn't blame me for this, so I can't understand why you do."
Chomper smiled and took the crawlers from Mim. "Thanks a bunch!" He then stuffed them in his mouth and licked his lips. "Mmm, now that's what I call good food." He tried not to make the others feel uncomfortable, because the majority of the time he mentions food and somebody takes it the wrong way.
Chomper then noticed Mitch walking towards them and he waived to him. "Hey Mitch. Well, we're kind of in the middle of a crisis right now, and it's kind of a long story."

Meanwhile, Ozzy and Strut continued through the Mysterious Beyond, pulling Littlefoot and Longtail along the way. "If I had known these two were so heavy, I would have just thrown them off the cliff!" Strut complained.
"Quit your whining!" Ozzy yelled. "We were lucky that longneck didn't tear us apart, because he would have if we didn't jump!"

Shera was listening to what the group was saying to the longneck. She only could hear some words. Slowly she walked a bit forward to hear them better, but kept on hiding. I'd better not show myself yet, I dont even know them. she thought.
She recognised some of the group, though she didn't really know their names.

Mitch smiled, "Hiya Chomper! Everyone."
"Huh, crisis"? You haven't been causing trouble have you?"
His eyes wandered from Chomper to the others...
"...Hey, by the way, Where's Littlefoot and Longtail? Don't they usually hang out with you guys?" he said, confused.
Then suddenly, his sniffer caught a scent, coming from nearby.
"You guys alone here, are you?" He lifted his neck and looked around, sniffing into the air as he did.

"If they would forgive you...then I do, as well. I'm... I'm sorry for what I said, Zaine. Don't worry, I won't hold a grudge."
Dante extended a claw as he looked at Zaine...
"Friends?"
Motochika and Virgil looked as they heard Mitch's comment, and as they did, Virgil caught a small movement, and Motochika heard Shera's breath...
"You can come out, whoever you are. We won't hurt you..."
He said, calm as usual...

Zaine smiled. "I'm glad we are friends." He used his tail so shake Dante's hand. "Now, if only I could convince Cera and Longtail's uncle otherwise. They'll probably never forgive me."
Chomper's sniffer then caught the scent as well. He turned and saw a threehorn nearby. "Hey, it's another threehorn! I better hide." Chomper walked behind the others so the newcomer wouldn't see him.
"Good idea," Zaine nodded. He then walked a little towards the threehorn. "It's all right. We aren't going to hurt you. My name is Zaine."

Ducky turns and looks in the direction then up at Petrie. "Can you see who it is Petrie?" She asks.
Petrie looks over in the direction and nods, "It threehorn, not far. Over there." He said pointing in the direction.
"Hmm, if the person is shy or scared maybe one of us should go over there and invite the person over here." Mim said looking around thinking who would be the best one.

'I am Vylor, and my sister is Argaya.' Vylor said.

Shera saw the others looking her way. She took some steps backwards.

When nobody voluntered, Mitch saw Mim's eyes pointing at him.
"Don't worry guys, I'll do it" He sighed.
He turned around and walked towards the little treehorn.
When he got close, he lovered his head, smiled and said calmly:
"Hello there, my name's Mitch. What's your name?" "It's okay, come here and say hi, we don't bite."

A fair distance away Soar prepared for flight. Perhaps today, when everything seemed to be on edge, she would finally try and meet other people. She had never felt so lonely, but she didn't know how to act around anybody who wasn't her mother.
And that was no longer an option.
Sighing, Soar flapped and and took off into the sky, scanning the land below.

Zaine looked over to Chomper. "Say, doesn'tshe remind you of someone?" he whispered. "She looks... familiar somehow."
"Well, she is a threehorn," Chomper said. "Maybe she's related to Cera?"

A littlebit afraid Shera stepped forward.
'Hello... I am Shera...' she said.

Dante stepped forwards, a bright smile on his face.
"Well, Nice to meet you, Shera! I'm Dante. Dante S. Starfall."
"And I am Virgil. His brother."
Virgil said, standing up, bowing a little...
"Call me Motochika. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss."
Motochika remained sitting, but he gave a small smile at Shera, welcoming her...

'Well.. Nice to meet you too' Shera blushed a bit. She smiled to the group of dinosaurs.

"And I'm Mitch, it's nice to meet you Shera!" Mitch said, smiling bright.
"Are you new here in the Great Valley? I haven't seen you around before?"
.."Hey Chomper! Quit hiding and get over here! Don't be silly!" Mitch said, calling on Chomper, looking a little dissapointed on him, but still smiling.
"Shera, meet Chomper. Don't worry, he's friendly".
"I don't know why, but he seems to be scared of treehorns today!" Mitch said and burst into joyfull laughter.

Ptyra had gotten distracted by her surroundings. She had lost track of the others. She looked up and saw another flier. Though it was Soar, her mind snapped to thinking it was her father.
Ptyra: DAD!

Ducky walked over to where Shera is, with Petrie close behind.
"Hello, we are glad to see you here, we are." She said smiling. "Are you here with your family?" She asked.
"Petrie say hello."
Mim walks over if it looks like Shera isn't to afraid of them. "You'll find quite a mix of types here. Have you met Threehorn yet? He'll be glad to meet another threehorn." Mim said in a friendly voice.

Littlefoot kept watch to see if there was any time when he could try to bite through Longtail's vine leash when the egg eaters were not around or he had a chance to. During any walking he kept up as best as he could to avoid being choked.

'Ehm, I am not really new here. I've been around here for quite some time. But I am not with my family, I am here with some friends... I don't know where my parents are... My friends found their parents though.'
She looked at chomper.
'Are you a sharpteeth? You shouldn't be afraid of me, I should be afraid of you. But I know you are harmless.'
Wondering if she could trust them all she said: 'I haven't met Threehorn, but his name is familair in some way.'

"I see. Sorry to hear that your parents are missing... do you think they are in the valley though? If they are, I'm sure we can find them"?
As Mitch looked around, he saw the two female longnecks appear again in the distance, heading their direction and they were sure to be pasing by any minute.
His face turned bright red.
..."ehmm... Well..."

She shook her head. 'No I don't think they are here, otherwise I must have seen them already.' Her eyes were a bit teary.
'I can't really remember my parents, it was a long time ago.' She saw Mitch's face turning red. 'Mitch, are you ok?'

Soar glanced sharply at the source of the noise, instantly realising it was driected at her. Through the wind however, she couldn't tell exaclty what had been said. She instinctavily began to turn away, but then caught herself. Today she had promised to herself to come out of her hermit existance.
Taking a deep breath she glided down to the group. She was sure that she recognised the flyer there... her name was Pteria, or Ptyeti... Ptyra, that was it.
Ptyra. Maybe she had known her once, or even just met her.
Coming to a gentle landing on the valley floor Soar stumbled over an hello.
"Um... he-hello..."

Chomper came out of hiding. "I'm sorry. It's just that every timI meet someone new they're always scared of me because I'm a sharptooth. Anyway, my name's Chomper. It's really nice to meet you."
Zaine was happy that everybody was getting along well. Unfortunately, he couldn't help but think about Littlefoot and Longtail, and then it hit him. What if I get all of them in danger? They'll end up just like Littlefoot and Longtail, and I can't let them get hurt. He then sighed and walked away from the group.
Chomper noticed Zaine leave. I hope he's ok...

Mim nods then askes Shera, "Do you have a place to sleep at night? As for Threehorn, maybe you've heard of him before." She said, knowing he had quite a reputation in the Great Valley. "He has 2 daughters named Cera and Tricia, and his mate is Tria. Maybe you know one of them."

Ptyra was taken aback. It wasn't her father. It was just another flyer. Whoever this flyer was, she didn't recognize her.
Ptyra: Oh! I'm...I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else...
Her shoulders fall with disappointment and her eyes turn downcast.

Soar was already terribly confused, and felt lost already. She desperately wanted to fly off, but for some reason she could only sit there gulping and feeling feeling very uncomfortable.

'Yes I have got a place to sleep, at a friend. Her name is Kira. She's a swimmer. And nice to meet you too chomper' She smiled. 'I was looking for some company because all my friends had to stay at home... Doing things. I saw you guys standing here and well, I thought maybe we could play together or something...'
She thought of the names Cera, Tria and Tricia. 'I have heard of Cera yes. Tricia is the baby? I've seen her quite some times with her mother. That must be Tricia then. I know them by names, but never talked to them...'
She wondered, did she interupt them in a conversation. 'What were you guys talking about...?'

Ptyra: You...havn't seen another flyer around here, have you? He looks kind of like me, but he's my dad and...he'd probobly be alone...
She takes a deep breath
Ptyra: His name is Pterano. Have you seen him?

Chomper was hoping Zaine would explain everything, but it didn't seem like Zaine wanted to be around anybody at the moment, so he figured he would have to explain it all.
"Well, it's a long story," he started, "but here goes nothing." He pointed back to Zaine who was sitting by himself. "Zaine over there had a vision about a flying rock that's supposed to possess magic powers. We are looking for the stone so that we can keep it safe from any evil. But of course, there are two egg eaters after the stone. We've run into them before, but now they've kidnapped two of our friends. We're trying to catch up with them, but we don't know how close we are." He looked back at Zaine. "I guess Zaine still blames himself for what happened, and now Cera and Cyrix are mad at him."

Dante had turned to follow Zaine, though he kept a respectful distance between the pair of them.
Motochika looked her over, then said...
"Well, we were discussing how to go rescue our friends..."

Mitch suddenly forgot the females, his nervousity and red face as he heard Chompers story.
"What? Kidnapped!?" "When did this happen?"
Then his eyes smalled...
"Egg-eaters... he whispered... Always up to no good...
Then he realized;
"What about Littlefoot and Longtail? Are they hurt?" he looked upon the gang nervously.

Chomper turned towards Mitch. "That's the crisis. Zaine told Littlefoot and Longtail that the egg eaters were folloqing us, and then they came out and kidnapped them. Zaine blames himself for getting them in danger like this."
Zaine could hear the others talking about him, but he didn't care. He looked into the nearby pond and a tear dropped. Why did it have to be them? Why did they have to be taken? It's not fair. It should have been me! I should be the one!
Zaine didn't realize it, but his next thought he accdentally yelled out. "IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME!"

Ozzy could tell Littlefoot was trying to look for a plan. "Don't even try little weed snipper. You may have ruined our plans before, but this time we will have our revenge on you and the rest of your precious valley!"
"You realize that you have nobody but Zaine to blame for this," Strut continued. "We warned him not to tell, but he wouldn't listen. Now your fate is in our hands because of him."

"It's ok, Zaine. I'm here, pal. We'll get them back, right?"
Dante said, stepping forwards and placing his claw on Zaine's shoulder gently, comfortingly...

Ducky looks over towards Zaine. "It was not your fault they were taken, no, no, no. It was the fault of those nasty egg eaters, it was, yep, yep, yep." Ducky said with concern in her voice.
Petrie nods, "Nasty egg eaters. Petrie no like them." Petrie said shaking his head at the second sentence.
Mim nods. "Ducky is right, it wasn't your fault." She said, walking over to where Zaine was to pat him shoulder trying to sooth him with her voice and patting. "Try not to blame yourself." She said.

Mitch couldn't accept one of his friends bearing a burden like this...
He went over to Zaine's.
He stopped and sat down beside him.
"It's okay Zaine... okay... It's not your fault.
"And Dante's absolutley right, we are gonna get them back. I promise you, okay?"
He bent his neck down to Zaine, looking gently into his face.
"It's absolutley okay to cry little one," he smiled, looking into Zaine's wet eyes.
"But you gotta be strong now, tell us, were are they heading?"

Zaine looked up at Mitch and Dante. "Smoking Mountain... That's where I saw the stone land. I'm guessing they're heading there, and Littlefoot and Longtail must be with them."
Chomper also walked up towards Zaine. "It's all right Zaine. We'll rescue our friends, and then we will tear those two dome heads apart."
Zaine smiled a little. "I'm so sorry you guys had to be dragged into this. I just want it all to end." He then looked down a little. "If only I could convince Cera an Cyrix otherwise."
(OOC: If GVG doesn't start posting soon, I might take over as Cera, but I won't take over as Longtail, since it's his character. If you're reading this GVG, I'm not mad at you or anything ;) )

'Yea, we go beat them up." Petrie said making fighting motions while standing on the ground. Not so scared since the egg eaters were not nearby and many of his friends were present and others as well and he was mad about what they had one to Littlefoot and Longtail.

"Don't worry Zaine. What's done is done, the only thing one can do is trying to do something about it".
"Smoking mountain, eh?"
"Ok, I think I'm gonna have a little "Chat" with those two dome heads!"
"My tail sure wanna meet them!" Mitch said and waved his tail trough the air.
"And if they've hurt Littlefoot and Longtail, they will wish they never were hatched!"
He looked towards Smoking Mountain in the distance.

Soar was completely bewildered by this time, with absolutely no idea what was going on. She mumbled something along the lines of not having seen any other flyers, and was scared at this talk of beating people up.

(OOC: Okay, what's happening now, and were is Soars location?)

Longtail wasn't angry at what happened, to tell the truth he was so bored from being dragged along by Ozzy and Strut that he started to hum several of his favorite songs from when he was a hatchling. And as time went on his humming turned into full out singing. He just happened to be singing his family's personal theme song when he looked over to Ozzy to see him glaring back. Longtail smiled and said "Oh I'm sorry is this annoying you...I hope it is!"

Cyrix in the meantime had been trying to decide on if he should apologized to Zaine...after all it is what Longtail would do. But as the thought passed through his mind Cyrix was reminded of what happened and it immediately reinforced his decision to stay mad at the young longneck.
However his conscious won over his anger and he sighed as he stood up and said "Excuse me Dante...would you mind if I spoke to Zaine alone?"
Cera was angry at Zaine for losing littlefoot and Longtail, but she also knew that it was an accident and she wanted to talk to him and let him know she wasn't mad at him, but as she did she noticed Cyrix beat her to the punch and approached Zaine first. 'Drat.' she thought to herself

OOC: Oops, read my past posts and found I wasn't really clear enough. Soar is on the outskirts of the group (Zaine, Petrie etc.) being as small as possible.

Zaine looked over towards Dante and nodded. "It's ok. I'll only be a minute." He then walked off a little with Cyrix. "Look, I understand how you feel, because I feel the same. I'm worried about him, but you have to believe me that I didn't want anything to happen to him."
(OOC: Everyone is about to apologize to Zaine for being mad at him, and we will eventually head towards the Smoking Mountain. Ozzy and Strut are already ahead of us, so they are not near the group.))

Unfortunately, the little flyer was indeed annoying Ozzy, and he couldn't stand it. "If you don't pipe down, I'm going to make you scream a tune of pain!"
"Ozzy, we can't hurt them," Strut said. "Remember, they are vital to our plan!" Ozzy sighed, not believing that his brother was telling him to calm down.
"You two are lucky he has more patience than I do."

Littlefoot looks at the two egg eaters. "I like his singing I do, yep, yep, yep." He said, adding in Ducky's famous saying since he recalled when she told her story to him and the rest of the gang a little after the incident was over and those strange rainbow faces had left so strangely. He did remember her saying that one of the mean flyers found her saying certain things annoying and wondered if these egg eaters would also. Though he didn't know of anyone personally who found her normal way of talking annoying. He decided to continue saying yep, yep, yep, and no, no, no like Ducky instead of his usual way to annoy them, liking Longtail's plan. Also the next time Longtail started to sing he tried to hum along, not paying any attention to if he was in tune or not.

Mim looks at Shera, "Have you had enough to eat? Some of us are eating now." She asked.
Ducky nods, "Oh yes, if you are still hungry you can join us. It would be fun."
Petrie nods, "Fun, if you hungry."

'Zaine, do you have any ideas on how to rescue Longtail and Littlefoot?' Argaya asked Zaine.

'I'd sure like to eat something.' She nodded with a smile on her face. 'But two of your friends kidnapped? Isn't that much more important...? I'd like helping you guys out.' she felt that these dinosaurs were very friendly. She took a good look at zaine, waiting for his response on the question of Argaya.

"Then if you are hungry you should eat. Yes you should." Ducky said.
"Perhaps a bit here then some along the way as we rest." Mim said.

"We have little time, that's true." " We are more to the numbers, but we won't do any good with out bellies empty". Besides, I think that we all should give Zaine some more time to clear up things with Cera and the others." Mitch said.
"So meanwhile, I'm going to have a meal. I think I saw some tasties on my way here. I think we all better eat."
"And if I know Littlefoot and Longtail, I think that they're doing their best to make those theifs life miserable and slow them down!" he said with a complacently laugh.
Micth started walking away from the group, heading for a small area of trees nearby.
"Shera, care to come along? I'm sure I can get you some hard to reach treestars?"
"As well for you others?"

Ozzy had just about enough of their singing. "Silence puny leaf eaters!" He then pulled his hand back and hit Littlefoot in the face. "You keep it up and I'll do more than hit you!"
Strut was worried about his brother. He wanted revenge on them just as much as Ozzy did, but Ozzy was losing control of himself. "Ozzy, calm down!"
Ozzy realized what he was doing and put his hand down. Of course, he gave a sharp tug on Littefoot's collar, but then he got a better idea. He grabbed another vine and tied it around Littlefoot's mouth, temporarily gagging him. "That should keep you quiet."

Littlefoot, though with his mouth tied shut, attempted to hum along with Longtail, or if he was not singing, humming some of his favorite songs, such as Adventuring, Journey to the Big Water, The Legend of the Lone Dinosaur, Peaceful Valley, Beyond the Mysterious Beyond, and others there were his favorites.

'Ok that would be nice' Shera smiled. She followed Mitch to some trees.

Soar noticed that the moment, when everyone was beginning to move, would be a good chance to sneak away unnoticed. She slowly began to edge away from the main group.

Zaine turned towards Argaya. "I'm not really sure, but our best bet is to find the stone first before they get to it. If we ambush them there, we might have a chance to break them free." He looked off at the distant Smoking Mountain. "I just don't know how long of a journey it will be."
Chomper then began to catch a scent he had not recognized before. Someone is here... He sniffed around and thought he caught a glimpse of a flyer. He looked closely, but he couldn't get a good view. "Must be seeing things."

Virgil had noticed the same movement as Chomper, and he told him...
"You're not seeing things, Chomper. There's something there."
He then yelled to the mysterious source...
"Come out and Show yourself!"

Zaine looked over towards Dante and nodded. "It's ok. I'll only be a minute." He then walked off a little with Cyrix. "Look, I understand how you feel, because I feel the same. I'm worried about him, but you have to believe me that I didn't want anything to happen to him."
(OOC: Everyone is about to apologize to Zaine for being mad at him, and we will eventually head towards the Smoking Mountain. Ozzy and Strut are already ahead of us, so they are not near the group.))

Unfortunately, the little flyer was indeed annoying Ozzy, and he couldn't stand it. "If you don't pipe down, I'm going to make you scream a tune of pain!"
"Ozzy, we can't hurt them," Strut said. "Remember, they are vital to our plan!" Ozzy sighed, not believing that his brother was telling him to calm down.
"You two are lucky he has more patience than I do."
Cyrix sighed and said "I am sorry Zaine...I didn't mean to be so hard on you before...it's just that Longtail is all I have. I don't like the thought of losing him." He then looked at Zaine and said "But I also know enough about him to know that he wouldn't blame you for his capture...he would know you and the others would come after him, and as such he is most likely smiling right now, or singing."

Longtail smiled and said to Ozzy "Go ahead ugly! Hit me I dare you! You don't have the nerve you coward! And to make your life worse you smell worse than Sharptooth breath!"

Soar froze in fright at the noise, she shut her eyes tight and began to tremble.

Mitch slamed one of the trees hard with his tail, making alot of fresh treestars falling down to the younger children.
He was glad that all his training had made him this strong.
"There you go, go ahead, there's plenty!"
He took a mouthfull himself, chewing. Treestars never taste soo good than after training he thought.
He then noticed Chomper and Virgil was looking for something.
"What is it you guys?"

Shera happily ate some treestars, and turned her face to the direction Chomper and Virgil were looking at.

Zaine looked at Cyrix. "I'm so sorry for what happened to Longtail. I promise you we will rescue them, and if anything does happen to him I will kill those two egg eaters." Well, two down, and one stubborn threehorn left to go...
Chomper yelled out as well. "It's ok! You don't have to be afraid of us! We won't hurt you!"

Ozzy turned to Longtail, took his hand, and was so tempted to hit him until he got a disapproving look from Strut. He's turning too soft... "You won't be so full of yourself once we reach the stone little flyer. Mark my words, you will beg for mercy from me, and I will not grant you or your longneck friend any!"

Mim heard what Chomper said and looked over to where he was looking. "It does seem like someone is there. You can come out, we won't hurt you." She said, taking a step so she was closer then Ducky or Petrie were, who were both heading to where Mitch was heading. Petrie flew ahead once the treestars fell and grabbed 2 with his feet, heading back to where Ducky who was still walking towards where Mitch was. He landed and handed one to Ducky, then hearing the others looked in the area and holding his treestar got afraid, shivering.
"Maybe it egg eaters, or giant sharptooth." He said shivering.
"Thanks." Ducky said as she accepted the Treestar from Petrie. She was about to take her first bite then turned to look in the direction as well.
"Or maybe it is someone shy. We are many and sometimes many scare those who are shy, they can. Or maybe they have not heard how Chomper is a nice sharptooth and are hiding." Ducky said.

Longtail scowled and said "Aww come on! Stop being a coward and hit me!" He looked Ozzy in the eyes and said "You know you want to." He then smiled and said "And besides if I get out of this net...I will be smacking you two fools around for days!"

Cyrix smiled and said to Zaine "Thank you. I feel bad about this...but if it comes to a fight, I don't want you putting yourself into unnesscary danger. We are only going to get Littlefoot and Longtail, and if there is time, perhaps the stone too."
Cera in the meantime was sitting and was tired of waiting for Cyrix to stop talking with Zaine and walked over and said "Hey! I wanna talk to Zaine too! Let him know what I think!"
Cyrix simply nodded his head and replied "Alright. But try not to shout Cera." Her response was a simple huff as she stepped into Cyrix's place in front of Zaine.

Mitch was done eating. He feelt healthy and took a deep breath of the fresh air.
He then went over to Mim.
"Which way do you think is the fastest to get to the Smoking mountain?" he asked.
"Or maybe we should split, and try to take them by suprise...?"

Tentavly, and very slowly, Soar poked her head out of the foliage. She looked around warily, ready to hide again at the first sign of danger.

Zaine kind of laughed a little at Cyrix's comment. The day Cera decides not to shout is the day sharpteeth act more like Chomper... He then looked at Cera straight in the eyes. "Cera, I know you hate me right now, but what do I have to do to regain your trust? I'm sorry for what happened to Littlefoot. I want to get him back just as much as you do."

Cera frowned and said "Look Zaine, you couldn't stop those egg stealers and I know that, but we're your friends and if you had told us together as a group, we may have been able to help each other!" She then sighed and said a little softer "But, knowing Littlefoot he probably did something dumb and Longtail tried to get him out of trouble." She then smiled and whispered "Don't worry, when we catch up to those guys you and I will pound 'em flat!"
Upon hearing the commontion from behind her Cera turned her head and said "What's going on over there do you think Zaine?"

Zaine smiled. "Thanks Cera. I'm... glad we're friends." He then looked back to where everybody was. "I think somebody else is here, but it's not one of the egg eaters. It looks like... a flyer?"
Chomper looked back. "Yeah, it is a flyer. Were trying to get her out of hiding!" He turned back to the distant flyer. "Please come down. We want to be friends with you!"

Longtail was getting tired of the silence and just for no real reason decided to scream at the top of his lungs. And thats just what he did...startling Ozzy and Strut. He then smiled and said "Did I scare you two? I hope so!"

Now Strut was getting annoyed. Like Ozzy, he grabbd a vine and tied Longtail's beak shut. "Ozzy, exactly what are we going to do with them?"
"Well Strut, we can't leave them. They're too important. I guess we'll just keep dragging them along. Who knows, maybe once we get the stone we'll feed them to sharpteeth."

Cera smiled and walked over to the group and asked "Please, don't be afraid, I promise we won't hurt you...and Chomper is a friendly sharptooth! Please?" she honestly wasn't sure if that would help, but she had to try.

Longtail although his beak was tied shut he just smiled and using his tail, tried to trip Ozzy hoping it would work.

Ptyra: I havn't seen my father for such a long time...I don't know how many cold times. I've spent my entire life after that Earthshake to find him and...he's in the Mysterous Beyond somewhere...

Having landed a short distance from the group, and still eyeing the sharptooth carefully, Soar mumbled an approximation of an apology. She knew that the small sharptooth was no threat... for the time being. She had spied on him often enough since his return to the Great Valley to stay, fascinated by the idea of a amiable sharptooth. This knowledge did not stop her being cautious though, but that was just a natural instinct.

Mim shakes her head. "It may be better for us to remain together as one group, though I"ll let the others say what their ideas are as well. " She says looking at those present briefly as she speaks. She thinks before she answers her next question. She looks at Mitch before speaking. "I think that way is the best way to the smoking mountain, but maybe those who have been living here longer know of a better way." She said looking at those others present again as she spoke.
Ducky nods, "Chomper is a nice sharptooth, not a mean one like most are. We hatched him, yes we did." Ducky said.
"Then we meet him on island with stinky flowers again. Then he come here." Petrie said remembering the adventures they had with Chomper both of those times, after his hatching and on the island.

Chomper nodded. "Trust me, you have nothing to fear from me! I promise I will never hurt you!" He held up his right hand. "Leaf Scout's honor."
Zaine laughed at this comment. "When did you come up with that?"
"Just now," Chomper shrugged. "I had to think of something!"

'We need a plan. I believe that Longtail will be a real nuisance to them, and will try as hard as he can to slow the egg eaters down. I agree with a night ambush. It has a high chance of success compared to other ideas that we have.' Vylor said.

Shera had have enough threestars for a full day and listened to what the group had to say.
'I will go with you guys, where ever you are going' she thought 'We sure do need a plan....'
She took a good look at the flyer.

Soar glanced at each of the group who were looking at her, eyes darting from one to the other.
"Um...hello..."

Zaine looked back up towards the flyer. "Hi there. My name is Zaine, what's yours? You really don't have to be nervous around us. We won't hurt you."

Ozzy almost tripped over Longtail's feet, but he regained balance and gave an evil glare at the flyer. Maybe I should just tie his entire body up and leave him here... Of course, he knew he wouldn't be able to do that "This is why I never wanted children of my own."

"My name's Soar" the young flyer replied in what was barely above a whisper. She hadn't a clue where to go from there though, so she just looked at Zaine.

Cera smiled and said "Hi there Soar. My name is Cera, it's nice to meet you." She wanted to make a good impression remembering what happened when she first met littlefoot.

Longtail smiled again and said "You losers are going to fail...and I'm going to laugh when you do...then I'm going to pound you two! And then you will be the ones to beg for mercy!" Then he thought of something....telling the truth!
"You two don't know my secret do you?" He asked to Ozzy and Strut.

'Hello Soar, they really are friendly..' She nodded 'I am Shera by the way.' She went standing next to Cera and smiled.

"Yo. I'm Dante. Nice to meet you!"
Dante said, grinning as he stepped forwards, then realized that he might frighten Soar, since he was a fast-biter. Motochika too, stayed towards the back of the group, smiling at her from where he was standing, then said...
"Hello there, miss. It's a real honor to make your acquaintance."

Ducky smiled while waving, "Hello Soar, we are all glad to meet you. Do you want to come and eat with us?" Ducky asked. "There is plenty for you here, yep, yep, yep." She said.
"Petrie glad to meet you too." He said happy to meet a new friend.
Mim smiles, "No need to be shy, you are among new friends here." She looks at Ducky and nods before looking back, "Yes, feel free to join us if you wish." She said.

Littlefoot laughed mentally as he saw what Longtail did. He continued to hum, this time the adventuring song, followed by the no one is alone song. He could not sing or use Ducky or Petrie's way of speaking, but he could still hum. He hoped by annoying the egg eaters it may slow them a bit, or more capable of making a mistake since he remembered his granddad telling him a story about some Longneck who almost made a mistake being overly worried but did better when he calmed himself so he could think more clearly.

Soar came fully out of hiding, and supressing a fearful look at Dante, flew over to the offfered food, and took a bite.
"Thanks," she said quietly but clearly this time.

'I am Argaya, and this is my brother, Vylor.' Argaya commented. 'And Zaine, don't worry about Littlefoot. Longtail will try his best to keep him out of harm.'

Shera smiled at Soar. 'The way I hear things from you, they probably are doing fine... What can eggeaters do anyway, I don't think they will be eaten by them.'

Zaine noticed that Soar was still a little uncomfortable with everyone greeting her. Maybe we should give her some space... "Guys, I think I might have a plan to quicken our search for Littlefoot and Longtail, but I can't decide this by myself. Can I talk with the adults privately, and no you aren't going to be kidnapped."
Chomper knew what Zaine was trying to do, so he walked a little on his own to finish eating. "I hope I didn't make Soar feel too uncomfortable."

Ozzy and Strut weren't making good time. Due to the many distractions caused by Littlefoot and Longtail, they were moving at a much slower pace than expected. Finally, they got to a point where they needed some rest. They had ignored Longtail's comment about his secret because they didn't really care to hear what he had to say. Even if his secret could help him, it wouldn't matter anyway. "Strut, we rest here. Tie them to that tree over there, and take their gags off. If they so much as attempt to escape, take care of them." Strut dragged Littlefoot and Longtail to the trunk of a large tree and tied the two of them to it. He then took off the gags and sneered.
"You two better behave."

Mitch turned his body to Zaine. "Yes? You have a plan?" he asked.
"Let's hear."
He called on the other adults to come and lisen.

Dante stood off a distance from the others, looking at the ground dejectedly.
"Why me? Why is it that everyone's scared of me?"
He whispered, a tear crossing his face...
Motochika, too, was lost in his thoughts...
"Will I ever truly belong? Is there no place for me to turn that I will be accepted? Is this a fate I cannot defy?"

Mim looks at Zaine, "A plan? Sounds interesting." She said as she started to walk over to where Zaine was curious as to what his plan could be.
Ducky started eating some of the leaves lying on the ground, making sure everyone else got a good share also. Petrie flew to a branch of a nearby tree so he could start dropping some leaves if the others on the ground looked like they were still hungry but needed more leaves.

Littlefoot nodded, getting a plan after he had heard Strut say that.
"Littlefoot know how to behave, me does, yep, yep, yep. It wasn't long ago me hear someone comment on how well me behave, yes me did. Me hear others say many time. Me grandpa tell story of a good behaved longneck and joys he had happen to him because he behave, yes he did. And cousin who not behave and how he not happy, no, no, no." Littlefoot said combining how Petrie and Ducky talked and adding in talking far to long and going on and on without really saying much.
Personally he liked the way that Ducky and Petrie talked but since Sierra was annoyed by Ducky's way of speaking from what Ducky said, maybe combining Petrie and Ducky's ways of talking and adding some other stuff would annoy these egg eaters, or Littlefoot hoped it would.

Chomper walked up towards Dante. "Dante, please don't be sad. Not everyone's afraid of you. Besides, I know how it feels to think everybody hates you. I was never trusted when I first arrived here, but now look at me. Just give the others some time. It will get better for you, I promise."
Zaine looked around at the adults when they were alone. "I've been thinking a lot about how we are going to get to the Smoking Mountain, and I feel that at the rate we are going, we might not make it in time." He hesitated at first before continuing. "Please don't get angry with me immediately, but I think we should split up into two groups. It would give us a better chance of finding the best path to the stone. With any luck, we could meet up with each other and continue the journey." He looked around at the group. "This decision is too big for me to make on my own, so that's why I'm asking you guys. What do you think we should do?"

'I just came here, it is better if you guys decide...' Shera said.

Dante, his confidence restored, stepped up next to Zaine.
"I second the idea of splitting into groups. That way, we can outflank those two egg stealers, and make them pay!"
As he said the last bit, he smacked his arms together, a smile crossing his face...

Mim nods, "There could be some good in that. We'd have to decide who goes on what team and if we have a co-ordinated plan. To out flank them, and track them, each group would need to have at least 1 sharptooth since their sniffer is better then most plant eaters. "

"I agree with Zaine, two groups."
"I think we should have atleast one adult and one flyer in each one, that would easen things up a bit". Mitch said.
"Mim, you're the oldest of us, do you know the two best ways to get there?" he asked Mim, and our flyers here could tell us were they last saw them?"

Longtail just smiiled as he felt the gag taken out of his mouth and whispered to Littlefoot "So you have a plan...right? Cause I was just going to bite through these ropes and attack one of them, but if you have a better idea, I'm all for listening."

Cyrix walked over and smiled as he heard Zaine outline his plan. Then he spoke up "Very wise Zaine very wise indeed! However I do believe that one group should solely focus on finding Longtail and Littlefoot, while the others go on to find the stone." He then looked to Zaine and said
"You'll be leading that group Zaine...you must at all cost find that stone before those egg eaters do!"

"That's true Cyrix. We should also be searching for that stone, and Zaine knows where it is right? I'd like to search for the stone as well so can I come with you Zaine?" Shera said.

Zaine nodded. "I guess I can't argue, although I really want to also look for Littlefoot and Longtail. Then again, I am the only one that knows where it is out of us." He thought for a second. "I suggest Chomper joins with the group that goes after Ozzy and Strut. He has their scent, so it will be easier for him to track them down." He turned to Shera. "Shera, I welcome your help. I must warn you though, this is going to be extremely dangerous." He then looked over at Cyrix. "I assume you are going to want to find your nephew, and I'm sure Cera will want to find Littlefoot." He then addressed the group as a whole.
"It's up to you guys what we do. I just made some suggestions, but which group you guys want to go in is up to you."

"I'll go with anyone really. Or if anybody wants me in their group, I'll go!" Mitch nodded.

"No, I love my nephew, but I do know he can take care of himself..I'll be following you to fifnd that stone." said Cyrix with a determined look on his face. He then turned to Mim and asked "Will you go find Longtail and make sure he is safe?"
"Oh you bet i'm going after Littlefoot! No one hurts my friends and gets away with it!" shouted Cera as she stomped her foot into the ground. "So what are we standing around for...let's get going!" said Cera again with a irritated look upon her face.

"Ok, I'll go with you for Littlefoot and Longtail." You're right cera, let's head out!"

Zaine was a little surprised at Cyrix's answer, but he simply nodded. "Ok then. I agree in saying that Mim should go with the group hunting down the two egg stealers." He thought to himself: Ok, here's what I got...

"Then Virgil and I shall aid the group after your friends. That is probably where we can be of the most aid."
Motochika said, rising to his feet and bowing...

"I'm not afraid of the dangers." Shera said. She came and stood next to Zaine. "You can tell me when we're going to leave.

Mim nods, "I am willing to go with the group to rescue Littlefoot." Mim said nodding, "How about the others though, Ducky, Petrie, Soar?" She asked.
Ducky nods, "I want to help too, I do. Yep, yep, yep." She said nodding.
Petrie nodded also, "Petrie want help." he said.

Soar appeared to be fighting an internal battle for a few moments, the outcome of which came blurting out:
"I'll go." She immmediatley was very embarrassed, and cringed.

Cera turned, smiled and said "Well I'm glad...we can always use someone else to help us out! So which group are you going with?"

"I'd sure like one of you flyers in my group" Mitch said, pointing at the flyers.
"And for all in my group, this is not a field trip, and if we can avoid violence, we will do so. If the egg-eaters leave without picking a fight, we just bann them into the Myserious Beyond." Mitch said with a serious voice.
"Our main task is to get Littlefoot and Longtail back in one peice."

"However, if they DO pick a fight, or if they've hurted them the most little..." he stoped and smiled.
"Go ahead, but you'll have to get to them first or I'll get them myself!" he said with a sinister laugh. He was especially looking at Cera, knowing that she would most defenitly be into the second alternative.

Zaine laughed at Mitch's comment. Yeah, Cera would definitely like that... He turned towards Ducky and Petrie. "I don't want to split you two up, so you two can come with me if you want." He then looked at Soar. "I'm really grateful you want to help. I was actually hoping you could go with the group after Littlefoot and Longtail. We need a flyer to look from up high, and you would be perfect for it!"
Chomper walked towards Zaine. "I'm definitely helping the group look for the egg eaters. I picked up Littlefoot's scent a few minutes ago, and it's not far from here. You guys can make better time heading to the stone."
Zaine nodded. "Thanks Chomper." He then looked back at everyone. "Ok, so let's recap:
The following are in the group going after Littlefoot and Longtail:
Cera, Mitch, Mim, Virgil, Motochika, Soar, and Chomper. Either Mitch or Mim should be the leader just because they are older, but keep Chomper close by. He knows what scent to follow.
The rest of us are in the group going after the stone:
Zaine (Me), Ducky, Petrie, Cyrix, Dante, and Shera. Cyrix and I will lead our group.
Once you guys have found Littlefoot and Longtail, free them and get out of there fast. I don't know what Ozzy and Strut are planning to do, but I highly suggest you don't wait around to find out. If they wont release them without a fight, then...well... use your imagination." He made a devilish grin at that last comment. "I suggest we eat and drink up before we leave, because I doubt we will want to stop until we either get to the stone or find our friends."
"How will we tell you when we rescue the others?" Chomper asked.
"My connection with the stone and my parents might be able to give me a visual as to what you guys are doing," Zaine explained. "I'll know where you are, but it might not be permanent."

'Hey, you forgot about us. Argaya will go with you to the stone, Zaine. I'll go to get Longtail and Littlefoot.' Vylor said.

Ptyra: I guess I'll come along with you, Mitch.

Zaine gasped a little. "Sorry you guys :lol: . Ok, add Vylor and Ptyra to the group going after the egg eaters and Argaya to our group."

Cyrix nodded in total agreement and said "Yes, this should work then." He then turned to face Mim and said "Thank you for going in my place. I'm not sure I could stand to see my nephew hurt." He then said to Zaine and Cera "Both of you...do your best."
He then also added "Yes food and water is a very useful idea." He walked over and picked as many leaves as he could hold and carried them over to the group.

Longtail at this point had started to try and bite through the vines that held him to the tree and he was halfway there when he looked up and his spirits dropped as he noticed Strut and Ozzy staring at him.
But he still managed a smile and said "Yeah...you guys are still as ugly as ever and getting uglier by the moment! Wow can you guys look any worse! Come on...I've seen rocks better looking then you two!"

Ozzy and Strut were still glaring at Longtail. How could they have been stupid enough to allow them to speak? Ozzy laughed. "Go ahead. Bite your way out. See what happens next."

Zaine nodded. "Don't worry. I'm not going to let them get the stone, not if we have anything to say about it..."

Being as bold and cocky as Cera had it's perks and Longtail did just as they had advised and with one final bite cut the rope holding him and Littlefoot to the tree and almost the moment his feet hit the ground he charged forward baring his teeth and with his claws fully extended wanting to gouge out the egg eaters eyes!

Mim nodded, "It sounds like a good plan. Also getting enough food and water now is a good idea. We should be faster since we'll not need to stop to eat or drink during our travel." She said.
Ducky was glad to be traveling with Petrie even if Cera was in the other group. "I am glad to help with going after the stone, I am. If the other group wants a swimmer to go with them I can ask one of my brothers or sisters to go with you if you want." She said before she went over to where the rest of the group that she was going to be traveling with were.
Petrie flew to a tree near the area and started pulling off some leaves to let them drop so those on the ground who could not reach the leaves could easily get some food.

Littlefoot remained quit at first, trying to think of a plan. When he saw what Longtail had done he looked at the egg eaters and Longtail, seeing what his plan seemed to be and what he was going to do so he could jump in and help.

Ozzy saw the attack coming, so he took out the long stick he was hiding behind him, spun around, and swung it at Longtail's head. Strut then approached Littlefoot. "Don't move a muscle Littleneck, and maybe I won't have to hurt you."

Dante ran at a tree, slamming into it with his shoulder and chest, knocking some food down for his friends.
"Right. Gathering food sounds like a plan. That way we can move faster after our respective goals."
Motochika nodded, gathering some food for himself.
"Agreed. As soon as we're ready to move, I'll be ready."

Mitch guessed he should help to, he slamed a tree hard with his front legs, making it almost fell out the ground. He ate, then said;
"I guess we got all the food we need, let's take the way past a waterplace as we go, so we can drink, I think we'll cross one as we travel."
"I can take the role as a leader in my group, but Chomper, you should go first so you don't loose your scent!" he said. "And take your time"
"Okay, ready when you are!" I'll just train on this tree, call on me when you're ready!
Mitch wandered of to a tree, kicking and slaming it with his tail and legs multiple times.

Dante sidled up next to Mitch, grinning.
"Mind if I join you? I could use a little training myself, before we set out!"
he asked.

"Of course!" Mitch said, and shook his tail to relax it.
"Know any tricks?" he took a step back, allowing Dante to give a shot.

Petrie flew down to the ground where the majority of leaves now lay on the ground. Ducky walked over to join him.
"Thanks." Ducky said to the two. "Hope you did not hurt your shoulder." She said to Dante.
Petrie nodded, "It faster then what I do." He said before starting to eat one of the leaves.
Mim waves to the leaves on the ground. "Thanks to these two we have plenty of food to eat before we get started, enough except for sharpteeth. Are you folks hungry at all?" She asked.

"You are nothing but a bunch of bullies." Littlefoot said angry with what had been done to them and Longtail being hit." He said walking towards Strut and Ozzy without fear. His anger overcoming his fear.

Soar silently began eating some if the food, feeling as if she was losing tracj of everything she ever knew. Within an hour her life had tumbled and changed into something quite different. She couldn't decide however , if it was for better or for worse.

He was charging the egg eaters one moment and the next his world was spinning and he didn't know which way was up or down. When his vision finally did clear he blinked and looked over to see Littlefoot walking towards the both egg eaters and he struggled to stand, but as he did this, he felt something step on his neck and suddenly Longtail couldn't breathe...he struggled to get some air, but none would come, and he began to panic as his vision started to go black from lack of air.
'I-I'm sorry...Littlefoot' was Longtail's last thought before he temporarily blacked out.

Cyrix sat down next to Mim and said "This adventure is going to be intresting...especially since this will be the first time I've seen this stone of cold fire." He then looked at Mim and asked "After we split up...please be careful."

Mim nods, "You be careful too. I remember the Yellowbellies would say, things work out if you just let them." She said.

Cyrix smiled and replied "Yes. After this adventure I'd like to meet the Yellowbellies...and perhaps learn that dance of theirs too...it sounds like alot of fun."

Dante thought for a moment, then smiled at Mitch and said...
"Well, I don't know if you'll think this is impressive, but here goes! Wild Dance!"
Dante ran at the tree, wrapping his tail around it in one flosing move, then spun back around to make several swift cuts with his claws. He finshed off the movements by lunging in with a swift bite, tearing a chunk of the tree loose in his mouth. He spat the bark out, turned, and asked...
"Well? What'dya think?"

Cyrix noted Dante's move out of the corner of his eyes, and said "Impressive Dante...most impressive. Your skills actually rival Longtail's. He may be jealous of you."

Dante smiled before responding...
"Y'know... It was Longtail who gave me motivation to get stronger. He's still probably better than me, but... I'm catching up..."

"Very good Dante! Impressive!" Mitch said smiling bright.
"Now for me! ...umm... This move has no name really, what about... "Tailplay!"
Mitch looked around for a stone on the ground.
"Ah, this will do!"
Mitch rolled the stone away from the others abit.
Then he stomped hard to the ground, sending the stone airborne.
He caught it again with his tail, slaming it up and down, and into the tree several times with his tail, using it like a whip.
He finished his juggling by sending the stone up high, taking a step backwards, and then, with all force focused to the tail, he slamed it in midair, sending it flying over a long distance. During the trick, the stone never touched the ground.
"Oh, must be a new personal best!"
I'm getting better! All training has paid off!
When he saw that the stone was heading towards a waterplace, he lowered his head and lookey away. Uhmmm... I hope it didn't hit anyone...

"Interesting." Mim says. Not saying any more as she focuses on resting and eating while sitting on the ground near one of the trees.
"Egg eaters in trouble." Petrie said enthusiastically as he saw what them doing what they did, holding a half eaten leaf in one hand.
"That is neat it was, yep, yep, yep." Ducky said nodding happily, having already eaten one of the leaves she was eating.

A cry rang out from the watering hole where the rock wad been thrown to by Mitch. As the owner of the voice walked upon the group, she held the rock in her mouth and she stopped in front of Dante and Mitch and crushed the rock with her teeth and said "Which one of you guys threw this rock?! I want an answer!"

"!!!!!"
"Ahh... um... you see ma'm... eh... HAHA! acttually... um..."

Petrie saw the angry look on the female and let out a little cry and tried to hide behind Ducky, who turned around to pat Petrie.
"It is ok Petrie. She is not mad at you, no, no, no." She said in a calm soothing voice.
Mim looked a bit away from the interaction, so Mitch would not be as embarrassed as he was, she hoped. He was old enough to stand up for himself & handle it himself, she thought, and doubted he'd need her help anyway.

Shera saw Mitch was in trouble. Slowly she went standing next to him. She was afraid something would happen to him, so she was looking at his face. Could he handle it?
'You sure have strong teeth, miss. That's quite impressive.' she said.

"... Now, ma'm! eh.. hehe... let's be reasonable?.. I mean... well.."

"Ah. H-Hunter... Yeah. That wasn't me. I swear...Please don't get angry...."
Dante said, backing off slowly, stammering a little...

"hrrm!"
"Dear ma'm, we acctually don't now! That's right!"
"Seriously, my ma'm must have noticed all the activity of falling sky rocks these days! Oh yes yes! Right guys?"
"I guess ma'm just had some bad luck this glorious day, right?" Mitch said with haste and fake laughter.
"We almost had it ourselves! Yeah! Look! our... umm... Sharpteeth friend here got strucked aswell! Yes he did! Look he's all wozzy!" He discretly blinked an eye to Chomper and the guys!
Come on Chomper! Play dead or something! Guys, play the game! Get me out of this mess!

Dante nodded vigorouslty, simeltaneously trying to make himself as small as possible to avoid Hunter's wrath.
"Y-Yeah! I just got hit on the head by one earlier, didn't I? Darn near knocked me out, it did!"
He stammered nervously...

Hunter didn't look at all convinced and she only growled louder and she was about to reply when Cera spoke up...
"Hey! I don't know who you are, but maybe you need to back off before I get angry!" Hunter looked at Cera with a smile and said "You can't be serious...." And Cera's reply was "Oh yes I can!" And the young threehorn charged at Hunter hoping she wouldn't move.

Soar audibally gulped, wondering exactly what it was she had just let herself in for. She'd never seen a chain of eventsd progress so quickly, it was making her head spin. She began breathing more deeply.

Mim shook her head. "Why is it so few would rather fight then breath deep and seek peace? Quite a limited mode of thinking. Displays how limited one's intellect is." Mim said in a tone similar to that of the female rainbowface to those who were in the Great Valley during that time.
"Huh?" Petrie said confused by what Mim had said.
Ducky nods, "Oh yes, I have noticed some of the grown ups here act more like babies then we kids do. Though I don't mean to offend anyone." She said looking around at the various folks present.
Mim nodded, "A sign that you young ones display more openmindedness and intelligence then some of the grown ups here do." Mim said in the same tone of voice as before.

Dante stepped in front of Cera and Hunter, arms held out wide.
"Woah! Hey! Now's not the time for this! We need to work together if we want to get our friends back, right? You two can fight it out after we rescue Littlefoot and Longtail, OK?"
He said, somewhat agitated...

Both Hunter and Cera eyed each other down for a moment and then snorted at each other and stepped back as Hunter said "Fine..." Cera on the other hand, just held her tail up in the air and walked back towards Mim and the rest of the group.
Hunter then asked "Hey...wait...what happened to Longtail? Is he alright?"

Dante looked away for a moment before responding to Hunter's question...
"Uhm...Not really, no. He and Littlefoot got captured by two egg-stealers, and they're somewhere in the beyond right now. We were just gonna go looking for them."

Wow... close one...
Mitch feelt relief.
Not hoping to much that the conversation was over, he began to walk ahead.
He feelt like he needed some air after this.
Women... C'mon Mitch, grow up!...

Mim nods then looks over at hunter. "A group is going to rescue them both. You interested in helping?" She said.
"Mean egg eaters, scary. They here before." Petrie said, referring to before when they also hatched Chomper's egg, though they've not told anyone that part.
Ducky nodded, "They are mean and scary indeed, yes they are." Ducky said, remembering how they acted before.

Chomper and Zaine walked upt towards Hunter. Chomper was the first to speak up. "Yeah, it's kind of a long story, but we know what they are like, and we plan on getting rid of them once we rescue Littlefoot and Longtail."
Zaine was a bit nervous about asking Hunter for help, especially since he didn't know her that well. "Look, I know you aren't familiar with Littlefoot, but Longtail is with him. Could you help us?"

Dante nodded.
"Yeah. Our group is still kinda small, so..."
Dante hesitated before he finished...
"I'd like it if you'd join me...I mean, us. How about it?"

All Hunter could do was smile...and for three reasons. One: She caught how Dante slipped up and said join me...instead of us. Two...the other members of the group had yet to realize that she was a sharptooth, and Three...She was honor bound to help her friends when they needed her, so naturaly her response was..
"Count me in..."

When Mitch heard that Hunter has calmed down, he turned back.
"Sorry ma'm... for the stone...." he said, smiling a little.

Hunter turned and smiled as she replied "It's alright...accidents do happen I suppose. And I'm sorry for getting so angry...but I was just trying to get a drink, and then pow..right in my head."

"hah.. well, sorry that I interupted you ma'm!" Mitch said with a smile.
"..So, you're helping us rescue Littlefoot and Longtail? Great!"

"Yes, it's great really!" Shera said with a big smile. She was getting used to the people around her.

Zaine smiled. "Thank you so much." He then turned towards the others. "Ok guys, I think it's about time we headed our seperate ways. Cyrix and I will lead the group going after the stone. Mim, you and Mitch should lead the group going after the egg eaters. Chomper, use your sniffer to help us out."
Chomper nodded. "You can count on me."
Littlefoot then looked at Hunter. "I assume you would want to go with the group searching for Littlefoot and Longtail, but if you wanted to come with us ater the stone, you may do so."

Hunter smiled and said "Yes..I'll go looking for Littlefoot and Longtail. But maybe I should lead the group...I'm faster and well...I know my way around the Mysterious beyond for one thing." She looked at Mim and said "Uhh...not that you have to give up the lead of course."
She then smiled at Dante and said "Well...long time no see, how have you been?"

"Chomper may be a logical choice to be one of the ones up front. He knows the scent of Littlefoot & Longtail well as well as the egg eaters, and I can run quite fast if need be. Not only of the right form, but also living in the mysterious beyond and dealing with large sharpteeth, and other things."
Ducky looked at the others, "Who will lead our group to go to the stone?"
"Not Petrie, to scary be in lead." He said shaking his head.

"I have an idea" Mitch said.
"Chomper will go first, followed by Hunter."
"Mim will be in the middle and I will be our tail, you others can place yourself anywhere between us? Does this ound like something?"
"Or if you want me in the front or middle that's ok."

Zaine looked towards Mitch. "Actually, that's a really good idea. Chomper can tell you which path their scent is, and the rest of you can place yourselves whithin the group to help protect them."
Chomper looked over towards Hunter. I wonder if anybody else will notice that she is a sharptooth. Oh well, I guess I'll get the chance to talk to her soon.

Dante smiled at Hunter, replying...
"Heh. I've been good. You?"
He then looked down, saying...
"Although... I wish you were in me and Zaine's group. I'll miss you..."

Hunter smiled and said "Oh don't worry 'bout me...I'll be fine. You just worry about coming back yourself. I won't forgive you if you disappear on me!"

Longtail was still trying to stand but Ozzy's foot stopped him. He groaned as he felt more pressure on his body. He then tried to speak as he mumbled "L-leave...Littlefoot....alone..."

Soar closed her eyes. In all her thoughts of meeting new people, she had never considered being surrounded by sharpteeth in such a short length of time. She hadn't expected to meet any sharpeeth at all for that matter.

Zaine looked around at the others and nodded. "Ok then. The group going after the stone, we're going to leave in a couple minutes. I suggest you say your good byes now, because you won't see each other for a little bit." He then walked over towards Chomper. "Chomper, I want you to keep them safe, but above all find Littlefoot and Longtail. Bring them back to us."
Chomper nodded. "Don't worry Zaine. I don't plan on failing."

Ozzy laughed at Longtail's remark. "Sorry, but I don't take requests from hostages. You should have listened to me when I told you to behave, but now look what you made me do."
Meanwhile, Strut proceeded towards Littlefoot. "I'm going to make this very simple for you. Either surrender and give this pointless fight up, or I will end it for you."

Longtail said "Have you ever seen a flyer become a sharptooth?" hoping that question would peak Ozzy's curiosity.

Hunter smiled at Dante and said "Well looks like you guys are about to move out....so don't get hurt! Or I'll hurt you even more!" She then patted him on the back and smiled again as she walked over to Chomper and Zaine and said "Hey...how are you two doing?'

Dante smiled at her, then said...
"Yeah, I know, Hunter. Take care of yourself, OK?"
He leaned in close to her, whispering...
"For me?"

Zaine smiled. "We're doing fine. Thank you so much for coming out and helping us. Logtail will be happy to see you. Please help keep the others safe, and be careful yourself." He nodded and turned to say good bye to the others.
Chomper walked up towards Hunter. "You are the prettiest sharptooth I have ever seen," he whispered. He then smiled.

Littlefoot wasn't sure he could fight them both or win, but he was thinking at the very least he'd delay them a bit and give his friends time to come up with a plan and catch up to where they were, or at least get closer.
"You both are nothing but bullies." Littlefoot said holding his ground.

Mim nods. "That sounds good. Plus those going on the rescue group also have to consider if they'll remain as one group once we're close to where the egg eaters and their captives are, or if 1 or 2 may try to rescue the captives while the rest distract, engage or fight the egg eaters." Mim said.
"I do wonder if it is real stone of cold fire, or just an plain falling rock like the last one was." Ducky said.
"We find out." Petrie said.

'Argaya, be careful. Keep Zaine and everybody else safe.' Vylor said.
'And you too.' She replied.

Cera turned to Ducky and replied "It had better not be! That last silly stone almost made us lose you!"
Hunter turned a bright red as she heard what Dante said, then attempting to control herself Hunter smiled at what Chomper said and whispered back "Thank you, but how do you know I'm a sharptooth?"
Cyrix smiled and said "I believe the best action would be divide and conquer, but I'm sure Longtail is already doing his best at that."

Seeing as how Ozzy didnt answer Longtail played his trumph card and his right eye turned yellow. As it did he let loose a feroursos scream that shook the ground and as he stopped to take a breath he said "I'm a half sharptooth!"

"Alright gang! We'll be seeing you soon, so everyone be safe! Oh, and leave a little bit of the action for me, 'k? See ya, Hunter!"
Dante said, smiling as he began to move off with the others...
"Yeah. Be safe, brother." Virgil nodded at him curtly, then readied himself to move...

Zaine smiled. "Stay safe you guys, and take those egg heads down!" He then began to lead his group down their path. "Good luck Chomper!" he yelled back.
"You too Zaine! Find that stone!" Chomper than began to sniff the air for Littlefoot's scent. He had used this trick many times in their countless adventures before, and this was no different. Once he caught the scent, he pointed in the direction it was coming from. "This way guys." While his group began to move, Chomper looked towards Hunter. "Well, being that I'm a sharptooth also, I could tell you were one also. Don't worry, if you want to keep it a secret, I won't tell." He then held his hand up again. "Leaf scout's honor!"

Petrie flew over to where the group going after the stone were heading.
"Good luck." Ducky called out before she ran over to where her group heading to the stone was and started walking along with them.

Mim nodded, "Ok, if he's that way we know where we're heading. Just be careful since the egg eaters may try an ambush by using Littlefoot and Longtail as bait or something." Mim said as she waited for her group to get into position and start so she could move along with in her her planned position.

Mitch placed himself in the rear of his group.
Littlefoot... Longtail... please be safe!...
He started walking, keeping his head up high, on the lookout.
He knew, that if the group ran into trouble, he had to get to the front fast.

Virgil looked at the others, saying...
"Are we going to move out, as well? I'd like to get moving soon."

'Yes we should, Zaine are you ready?' Shere nodded.
She was thinking about how the stone would look like.
'While we are on journey would you like to tell more about this stone?' she asked. 'Would be nice to know more about it...'

Chomper called out towards Virgil. "Yeah we're leaving! Hurry up or we'll leave you!" He laughed and turned back around to lead the group down their path. I just hope I don't lead them the wrong way.
Zaine nodded. "I'm ready Shera, and I'll tell you as much as I already know. The stone is said to posses magic powers those of which nobody has ever seen before. These powers can be used for both good or great evil depending on who reaches it first. These two egg eaters are looking for the stone for their own greedy desires. I fear they may want to enslave the Great Valley, which is why we have to find it before them." He hesitated before saying the next thing. "Of course, I have a reason to use the stone's powers, but..." He didn't entirely comfortable talking about his parents so much, so he figured unless Shera asked him about it, he would just not say anything.

Ozzy released Longtail and stepped back. "Impossible! How the hell is he doing this?" He knew there was no possible chance of winning against Longtail now, so he had to resort to another method and fast. Fortunately for him, Strut was one step ahead of him. He grabbed Littlefoot and then wrapped his arm around the longneck's neck, somewhat choking him.
"I'm going to say this once you little freak! Surrender now," he then showed a very sharp rock, "or we kill your friend! Your choice!"

Shera listened to what Zaine told her. She saw that his face was full of uncertainty, so she decided not to ask what his goal was. 'Very interesting', she said, 'Thanks.'
'Ehh.. Shall we go now or..?' she asked with a silent voice.

Zaine broke out of wha the was thinking and laughed a little. "Not sure if you noticed Shera, but we've been walking for a good twenty minutes now."

"I hope it is not on a mountain that will blow up like the other one, yes I do." Ducky said.
"Me hope so. It shake more then Cera when she mad before it go boom." Petrie said.

Littlefoot did his best to try to struggle to free himself, unable to say anything.

Mim smiled at the joking, their spirits were high, which was good. "Yes so you'd best hurry." She said in a kidding sort of manner in her voice. She thought to herself for a moment. "I just hope the area the stone is doesn't blow up like I heard the other one did." Mim said remembering some of the stories she heard about the earlier incident.

Dante laughed as Zaine pointed out the fact that they had been moving for some time to Shera.
Virgil meanwhile was walking alongside Mim, and smiled a little at the other's joking as well.
"Exploding mountain, huh? Sounds... Interesting..."

Chomper shrugged his shoulders. "Well apparently the last stone of cold fire that landed here was a fake. but the two flyers that were after it didn't want to believe it. They started pounding on the rock hoping it would grant its powers to them, but then an earthshake began and the stone exploded. I'm not sure what happened to those flyers though." He continued to follow Littlefoot's scent, but he occasionally turned around to make sure the others were still with them.

Zaine noticed Petrie and Ducky making joking remarks about the last stone. "Well, I wouldn't be surprised if the stone exploded like the one you guys found. It it on Smoking Mountain." He then thought for a moment. "Maybe it would be better if the stone was destroyed. It would certainly prevent the egg eaters from using it's power." He then looked ahead. But then I couldn't use it to see my parents...

Flying a little way above the group, Soar considered simply leaving. She could, after all...
But she felt a strange compulsion to stay. Her own curiosity would be the end of her. She thought she would be safe with this lot though, considering that they only faced two egg-eaters. Egg eaters were fast, but not particulary good combatants. They'd far rather run than take on any fight with even the smallest chance of losing.
Keep this up, though Soar to herself wryly, and you might actually convince yourself.

Longtail was trembling, not because he was scared far from it, but half of his didn't want Littlefoot to get hurt, and the other half of him wanted to rip these two egg eaters apart. Longtail looked down to the floor for a moment and whispered I hope the others hear this... He then inhaled a large breath of air, and screamed at the top of his lungs again, but it sounded more like a song than a scream....and as a result the ground began to shake.
After he was done Longtail willed his body to relax. he took several breaths and when he spoke it was just above a whisper "O-okay...just...let him go." Longtail then fell to the floor exhausted from screeching so loud and fell swiftly to sleep.

Cyrix smiled and said "well this should prove most interesting." He then looked up to see Soar high in the sky. He then frowned and called out "Excuse me Soar, but wouldn't you like to join us down here?"

Cera momentarily looked up and glanced around and asked the rescue group "did anyone else hear that? It sounded like a scream." She then thought to herself A really familiar one too.

Mim nodded, as she paused to listen. "Yes, it sounds like someone familiar, I think I know who. It sounds like it may be in the rough direction Chomper is heading." She said.

"Maybe only 1 person can use it before it goes away." Ducky suggested.
Petrie nodded. "Maybe 1 wish then it go." Petrie said nodding.

Littlefoot stood there struggling a bit, he thought if nothing else this should spread his smell around the area since he was sure Chomper would be among his friends coming to rescue them. And with them standing here and not moving that was slowing the egg eaters down even more. Every little bit, he thought and hoped, allowed his friends to get that much closer.

'I think that noise was Longtail. I recognize it.' Vylor said.

Chomper nodded. "There's no doubt about it! That was Longtail! They has to be close by! Let's go!" Chomper began to lead the group in the direction he heard the noise and where he smelled Littlefoot's scent from.
(Because of page length, Littlefoot and Longtail are going to be rescued now.)
Eventually, the group came to a clearing, but they hid behind a bunch of trees. They could see Ozzy approaching Longtail and Strut holding a sharp rock towards Littlefoot's throat. Chomper looked towards the others. "That's them all right, but we can't go rushing in there. We should find a way to distract Ozzy, and then one of us could go around and free Littlefoot."
Ozzy smiled. "I knew you would see things my way." He turned to Strut. "Let him go, but tie them back to the tree, and this time make sure to tie their mouths closed."
Strut nodded, but suddenly, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. He spotted Chomper. "Whoever is hiding out there, show yourself!"
Chomper gulped, realizing he had exposed himself. He hid back behind the tree and gestured the others to pull back. "Wait for the signal to come out guys," he whispered. He then slowly came out from behind the tree and approached the egg eaters.
"Well look who it is! You're all grown up! Still a bit small though," Ozzy sneered.
"And you're still ugly," Chomper commented. "Let them go now."
"Nice try," Strut mocked, "but you won't be able to overthrow us on your own."
"We'll see about that," Chomper muttered.
"We should have gotten rid of you when we first came to the Great Valley," Ozzy said. "You were lucky that time, but you won't be so fortunate this time around."
"You couldn't beat my back then, and you most certainly can't beat me now," Chomper argued. "You wanna know why?"
"Oh please do tell us," Strut mocked, and Chomper grinned
"Because I have friends... NOW GUYS!!!!!!!!!"

Mim nods, "It sounds like he's singing, not in pain." She said. She nods to what Chomper said looking at the sharpteeth in the group. "Maybe one or more of the sharpteeth may be best for that, their hunting skills and sharp teeth and claws together may make it easier to sneak around to free the two captives." Mim said as was part of the plan she mentioned earlier.
She hid in a tree with some bushes next to it. She bent down to peer out at what was going on while remaining hidden.

Littlefoot saw Chomper and was glad to see him, sure he'd not come alone. He tried to struggle a bit more and to also bite some part of the body of the one holding him as hard as he could. He was sure the others were nearby and wanted to try to help them and Longtail.

While Hunter was usually calm and waited to hear what the plan was...she was shaking from rage at the sight of the two egg eaters holding Littlefoot Longtail, and now Chomper...and as the young purple sharptooth shouted, she gave a devilish grin to Mim and said "Do what you have to do....I've got these two fools!" And leaped from behind her cover and charged directly at Ozzy teeth and claws ready to tear into him for holding her friends like this!
Longtail however was just waking up and all he could see was Ozzy's hand reaching down for his face. But then he heard a familiar voice, and before he knew it everything was a blur.

Motochika nodded, racing off next to Hunter, slamming into Ozzy with a vicious shoulder tackle.
"That...Is for hurting my friends!"
Virgil looked at Mim, a brief smile crossing his features...
"Then I'll go after getting Longtail and Littlefoot loose!"
He slipped quietly behind the egg-eaters, then stood next to Littlefoot and Longtail, whispering...
"All right. I'm here to get you two out. Here goes."
And in one slash of his talon, the ropes were severed, and the others were free...

Chomper noticed that Littlefoot and Longtail were set free already, so he turned back to the egg eaters. "What did I tell you? You can't win. I suggest you leave now before you get hurt! Of course, I really don't care what happens to you, and I don't think anybody else here does either."
Ozzy slowly got up after being slammed to the ground byt Motochika. "Great, he's right. Strut! Retreat for now!"
"Why?" Strut asked. "We can take them on!"
"Not now!" Ozzy warned. "We must wait for the right moment!" Strut nodded, and the two egg eaters turned around and fled into the bushes.
Chomper shook his head. "You two are nothing but a bunch of cowards!" he screamed at them. He then noticed Virgil, Littlefoot, and Longtail were joined up with them. Chomper ran towards Littlefoot and Longtail and tried to hug them both. "Oh thank god you guys are alive! We were so worried about you!"

Meanwhile, Zaine's group was making good time on the stone. Unfortunately, they got to a fast moving river current that blocked them from the other side. "Great, first the log and now this?" He knew how badly the log idea went, so how was he supposed to get across this? He turned back to his group. "Any suggestions guys?"

This was perfect.
Mitch took a huge step in front of the fleeing egg eaters, and stomped his feet to the ground the hardest he could, making the ground shake.
"Well, well..."
"Aint I glad to meet you!"
Mitch had been taking a side step from the group as they found Littlefoot and Longtail, he had been waiting on the other side of some bushes, making sure no one fled that way.
Mitch looked straight into the egg eaters eyes.
"We're not done with you filthy cowards yet..."
"But I'm gonna give you two alternatives..."
"We can do this my way, and hopefully get out of here with no one more to be hurt"
"Or...we can do the other way ... which's, and trust me on this one sharpteeths... not gonna be to your favor."
"But just between you and me..."
He lowered his head to just infront of Ozzy n' Strut, and whispered:
"You better have a very good reason to hurt my friends..."
"Few things make me so angry as the likes of you..."
"And... you don't wanna see me angry..."
He looked straight into their eyes as he spoke.
Then he rose his body high over the thiefs.
"So, hows it gonna be?"

Mim seeing Virgil was going to free Littlefoot and Longtail grabbed a nearby branch on the ground and stepped out to stand somewhat beside to see if her help was needed. Seeing the two egg eaters flee she walked over closer to where Littlefoot and Longtail were looking at them. "How do you both feel? " She asked, looking around a bit to be sure the egg eaters would not be trying to sneak back.

"Thanks for rescuing us guys" Littlefoot said looking at each of the rescuers, "I knew you'd be here." He said, not asking about the others since he assumed they were either a bit behind this group, had gone after the stone, or had to stay behind for some reason.
To Mim's question he smiled a bit, "I've been better, but I'll be ok, especially with all of you here." Littlefoot said smiling at them again.

Ducky started to sing a song about going to the cold fire stone, Petrie joined in after a few bars.

Petrie added as Ducky paused, "What scary things" as he shivered a bit at the thought, then joined back in with Ducky

Shera saw a tree nearby. "I might try to make the tree fall down... so we can use it to get to the next side, but I will need some help.. Maybe you can help Cera? Or don't you think it is a wise idea Zaine?" she asked.
She was a bit afraid of water, so she wanted a clear plan how to get to the next side. She relaxed while listening to Ducky's voice and thought If something goes wrong they will probably help me out of the water. Slowly she started to sing along.

After being hugged by Chomper, Longtail smiled and said "Hi Aunt Mim, I'm okay. Really." He then looked around and said "Well I was expecting some of you to come, but I wasn't expecting all of you!" He then looked over and said "It must be your fault that they got here so slow right Hunter?" The Alimon smirked and said "Oh please...you wish, it was me and Chomper that lead the way here, so HA!"
Longtail smiled and said "That doesn't mean anything...besides if it hadn't been for me screaming like that I don't your nose would be able to find me." Hunter then walked over and patted Longtail on the head and replied "I'm glad your safe squirt."
Cera walked over and said "Yeah...that's great! Now that those silly egg brains are gone can we go meet the others at this other fake stone now...I wanna go home!"
Both Longtail and Hunter had to laugh at Cera's remark as Longtail said "Although she is kinda right. As nice as this rescue is we do need to get moving."

When Cyrix saw the problem they faced, instead of throwing out ideas he simply went about collecting things like vines and rocks...just in case anyone's idea's needed a little work to put together, he would just be making it easier to do.

Dante looked at Zaine and Shera, then said...
"Well, I think that taking that log down'll be the fastest way across. But d'ya think we should wait for the others? I think I heard those egg eaters getting knocked around a little. The others may be on their way..."

Cyrix smiled and said "It wouldn't surprise me if they beat us to the stone. But Dante may have a point, perhaps we should wait. After all we have a sizable lead on those egg eaters anyway."

"I think we should wait" Shera knew she was going to need some help with the log.

Ducky having finished her song goes over to the three. "I do not think I could push down the tree, no, no, no." She said.
Petrie looks at it as well while standing next to Ducky. "Me no can push down tree that big. "He said.

Mim nods, "If both of you are ok then we should be heading towards the stone. Those eggeaters may be heading there once they recover from their shock and the others may need our help." She said.
Littlefoot nods, "We should go there. Longtail and I heard him tell the egg eaters where the stone is so we know if the rest of you do not." He said.

Mitch called over the bushes to the others:
"Hey Littlefoot, Longtail! Did these pathetic beings hurt you?"

Littlefoot shook his head, "They chocked me a little, but I saw then hit Longtail with a stick and I think one of them stepped on his neck. he got it worst then I did."

Chomper called back to Mitch. "Don't worry about them! They're gone now, but if we run into them again we'll take them down!" He then turned to Longtail. "Yes it's true we wouldn't have known exactly where you were had you not screamed out, but my sniffer caught Littlefoot's scent, so it wasn't really necessary." He then laughed. "Although I will admit, I thought that yell was so funny."

Zaine nodded. "We should definitely think this one through. I'm not so worried about the egg eaters getting ahead of us, because I'm sure Longtail and Littlefoot are slowing them down right now." Of course, he didn't realize that they were already rescued and on their way to meet up with them. He then turned to Shera. "The log might be a good idea, but the only problem is it might get carried away by the water."

'I think that we should try to catch up with the other group. We should let them know that we were successful.' Vylor said.

'I agree on waiting, and that we should see if the others are going to get here. If they aren't here by midday tomorrow, then we should move ahead without them. They'll catch up to us eventually.' Argaya said.

Longtail smiled and asked "What was so funny about that scream?" Hunter smiled as she knew where this was going. She walked over and whispered to Chomper "Don't let his response get to you...he takes pride in what he can do."

Cyrix nodded and said "Well then in that case we can worry about crossing this gap tomorrow then." Cyrix then sat down and smiled as he said "I'm sure they will be fine and once we regroup we can press on."

Shera sat down and was going to wait for the others. "We will have to do something to get them here... Or do they know where to go?" She was thinking of a plan.

Mim thought for a moment. "The others should be easy enough to find. Some of us know where the stone is and their ultimate destination." She said half aloud and partially to herself then she turned to Chomper, "Do you smell where Ducky or Petrie, or the others are. If so then we can head directly there and join them faster. How about the rest of you sharpteeth. If we can follow the scent of the others in the other group we can head directly to where they are instead of just towards the same destination. What do you others think? Would you rather join up with them or head directly to the stone?" Mim said.
Littlefoot thought for a moment, "I'm not sure, both are good ideas." He said then waited till the others would speak.

Petrie nods, "Maybe rest is good, no good being tired." He said, not tired himself but guessing some of those who walked maybe tired.
Ducky nods, "Maybe tomorrow we will get an idea, yes we may." She said.

"Why are you still standing here?!"
"Get out of here, and don't you ever come back if your bodies are precious to you!"
Mitch turned away, he walked out of the bushes and rejoined the group.
He placed himself next to Mim.

Ozzy and Strut managed to get a certain distance away from the group. "That was a disaster," Ozzy said. "We lost our bait, and now there are more of them. We have to find a way to slow them down."
"Just how do we do that?" Strut asked. Ozzy thought for a moment, then he had an idea.
"If we can't kidnap one of them, then we'll just have to perminantly disable them, starting with the source."
"What does that mean?" Strut asked with a confused expression, and Ozzy rolled his eyes.
"We take out the little green longneck. He knows where the stone is, so if he were unable to lead them, then we'd have a chance."

Chomper thought for a moment. "I think we should just go ahead and try to find Zaine and the others. They can't be too far from here since we're all heading in the same direction." Then he caught Ducky's scent. He sniffed the air and looked around. "I actually just caught hold of Ducky's scent! It's down this way!" he pointed in a direction.

Zaine nodded as he walked over to a nearby bush. "Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get something to eat." He then began to chew some of the leaves off of the branches.

Flapping hard Soar brought herself above the foliage and took a look around for the two escaped egg-snatchers. She felt a need to prove her worth to these people, to show that she could be helpful and useful. She gently swooped over the tops of bushes and the like, keeping an eye out for the villians.

'Petrie, why don't you go and find them? We could get a message to them quickly.' Argaya said.

Longtail and Hunter both sniffed the air and immediately Longtail said "Hey, you were right Chomper! Way to go!" He flapped his wings and then said "Maybe I can fly ahead and find the others faster. That way I oculd give them a message or something." Hunter smiled at the idea and said "Good one! What do you guys think?"

Zaine continued to eat off the bush, but then he noticed a rustle right next to him. "I wonder what's back there." Suddenly, something grabbed him and pulled him through the bushes. He looked up to see none other than Ozzy and Strut. "Oh no, not you two again!"
"Today is your unlucky day little longneck," Ozzy sneered.
"Time to have some fun with you..." Strut laughed.
"You won't get away with this," Zaine said. "Longtail and Littlefoot will be rescued and we will get the stone before you."
"Of course, your little friends won't be able to get the stone if they don't know where to go," Strut argued. Zaine was about to mention that he knew where the stone was, but then he realized where this was going.
"Say goodnight Zaine," Ozzy said. With that, he whipped his tail at Zaine's face. Zaine stumbled over to the side and tried to regain his balance. Unfortunately, Strut was already lunging for him. The egg eater used his feet to trip Zaine onto the ground. Ozzy then walked over, grabbed Zaine by the tail, and swung him against a tree. Zaine felt a huge rush of pain flow through his body as he fell to the ground. Strut then picked him up by the neck, and began pucnhing him in the face multiple times. Zaine tried to fight back, but the strength of the two egg eaters overpowerd him. Ozzy then grabbed a sharp pointed rock and slashed at Zaine's front legs. Zaine yelled out in pain as his legs crumbled in front of him and he fell back to the ground. Once again, he tried to get back up, but he was unable to move his legs. "Time to die little leaf eater," Ozzy said. He then kicked Zaine in the stomach, and Zaine felt all of his breath knocked out of him. Finally, Ozzy pushed Zaine so his underbelly was open, and he took the rock and stabbed Zaine with it.
Zaine's eyes widened from the pain, then they slowly closed and he lied limp on the ground. Ozzy bent down and checked for a pulse, but there was none. "He's gone," he said looking towards Strut.
"Did we really just kill him?" Strut asked.
"He's not getting back up ever again." The two egg eaters then looked around to make sure nobody was around, then they slipped away undetected.
Fortunately for Zaine, Ozzy's aim was off and he missed the heart. Within a few seconds, Zaine slowly began to regain consciousness, but it was very little. A trail of blood flowed from both his legs and his underbelly, and a even smaller trail was coming out of his mouth. There was no chance he could stand up, but he tried anyway and only received even more pain. I...can't...die now...
"Mom...Dad...Longtail...Littlefoot... I'm sorry..." were the only words he could get out.

Chomper all of a sudden became worried. He knew he had track of Ducky and Petire's scent, but now he caught Zaine's scent. Only, this one was mixed with blood. With a horrified look, Chomper pointed in the direction the scent was coming from. "Guys, I've picked up Zaine's scent. He's in grave danger. We have to find them!"
He then turned towards Longtail. "Longtail! Fly ahead of us and see if you can find them. We'll follow behind you as fast as we can. Go now!"

'What was that?' Argaya asked. She then turned around to see Zaine on the ground with blood still trickling out.
'Help! We need to help Zaine! He's been injured and he's bleeding!' she exclaimed.

Mim nodded to what Chomper said, "If Chomper smells blood Zaine may be in trouble." She turned to Longtail, "It may be dangerous. You can get the message to them, but stay in the air till you are sure it's safe before you come down near Cyrix or Dante and tell the message about Zaine every moment may count, and I think it may be best if the sharpteeth lead us since they can take us right to Zaine. What do the rest of you think?"
Littlefoot nods, "We do have to hurry there. What if he's hurt badly or something." Littlefoot said.

Ducky meanwhile had wondered over to a nearby bush that was near either Cyrix or Dante knowing out where it was dangerous it was best to stay near a grown up or a friendly sharptooth and pulled off a leaf to eat.
Petrie nods, "My fly up, see if me see them." Petrie flapped his wings and started to raise into the air. He had not yet heard Argaya.
"Be careful Petrie." Ducky said also who had not yet heard Argaya.
"Me will." Petrie said as he started to raise into the air. He flew fairly straight up and once he was well above the trees he started to look around to see if he could see the other group. He remembered his mother telling him once to know where you are going, don't fly blind if you don't have to.

Zaine couldn't keep his eyes open, but he could see what looked like Argaya standing over him. "Ar...gaya..." He knew any moment now he would be dead unless he was helped, but he had no idea how exactly it was going to happen. I...hope Chomper... finds me...

Chomper didn't even wait for anybody else to say anything. He began to sprint in the direction he caught Zaine's scent from. I hope they are following me. I can't stop now! I have to make sure he's ok.

Dante sniffed the air, then tensed up, eyes narrowing...
"Guys! We gotta move! Zaine's in trouble! I-I can smell his blood! This way!"
Virgil and Motochika took off after Chomper, both able to track the scent as well.
"There's no mistaking it. This is Zaine's blood! We'd better move quickly."
Virgil said, running...
"Indeed it is. The strength of the scent means that he's hurt badly! Come, let us make haste!"
Motochika agreed...

Zaine continued to hold on as long as he could, but he only felt even more pain. He started to slip into unconsciousness again, but he let out a couple words, "Longtail...Littlefoot..." With that, he finally closed his eyes.

Chomper kept leading the others down the path. "Come on guys! We have to hurry if we want to get to Zaine in time!"

Mim and Littlefoot ran along behind the sharpteeth in the lead.

Ducky heard the scream and went over to where the voice was coming from. Petrie heard something from below and to one side as he started to look for any of the other group he could see.

When Chomper said he could smell Zaine's blood Longtail was off like a bullet even before Chomper gave him the order to fly ahead. He was flying so fast that he developed tunnel vision, and with Zaines blood hanging in the air, he knew exactly where to go!
At first it was a red dot on the horizon, but as Longtail got closer he could see it was clearly Zaine...and he was hurt...badly! The little flyer flapped down to the ground and was crying even before he spoke. "Z-Zaine...c-can you hear me....please Zaine answer me!" He then cried out for the one person who he knew could help "UNCLE CYRIX!!!!"
Cyrix picked his head up as he head Argaya speaking of Zaine...but then he heard Longtail scream his name and he was suddenly running as fast as his two feet would take him.

Ducky ran over to where the screaming from Argaya was coming from and Petrie landed a bit after Longtail did and heard his scream just before they got there.
"Zaine in trouble." Petrie said, "how we help?" He asked.
"Lots of leaves. Grown ups use leaves." Ducky said trying to help but staying to one side.

Zaine opened his eyes and saw Longtail standing over him. "L...Long...tail?" He managed to get out a small smile, but he couldn't really move any other part of his body. "I'm...so...sorry..." He was really glad to see his friend was all right, but he couldn't say the same for himself.
Chomper knelt down beside Zaine. "Zaine, you have to hang in there! We're going to help you! I promise!"

A few seconds later, Dante and Virgil raced into the area from opposite directions, both holding several large leaves. Dante knelt by Zaine, placing the leaves over the wound and applying pressure.
"Virgil! Go see about finding some Medicinal ferns! I'll stay here and try to stop the bleeding!"
Virgil nodded and ran off, leaving the leaves he had gathered by Dante.
Dante looked up, then realized Longtail was there.
"Longtail! Good to see that you're ok, pal."
He said, still placing pressure on the wound and hoping that help could arrive in time...
"Zaine..." He whispered...
"Please hold on..."

Chomper looked at Zaine's various wounds, and then he noticed the rock was still stuck on Zaine's underbelly. "We've got to do something about that rock! I don't think I can pull it out all the way!"
Zaine began to relax a little. His friends were all around him, trying to find some way to help him recover. However, he hated being a burden to them, so he was going to have to make it up once this crisis ends. He heard Dante whisper in his ear, and Zaine looked towards him. "I'm...trying..."

Motochika walked up to the others, then looked at Chomper, saying...
"Good eyes, Chomper. Allow me to be of use and..."
He reached down, gripping the rock with his claws, and said...
"Extract it!"
He pulled once, and the rock came free with a sickening sucking noise. He then grabbed some of the leaves near Dante, and placed them over the wound...

Longtail heard Zaine speak...but his eyes were wide with fear and something he knew he could never forget...those final precious moments...he was frozen, but he was shaking like a leaf. He couldn't move even if Cera's dad were screaming at him now. Tears were falling down his face, his breathing was becoming shallow. His scales started to go pale. In Zaine he saw the same look his mother gave to him before she died.
Then the flashbacks started again...but this time...he could see Zaine as well...dying just like the rest...'The...the fire...the pain...the screaming...the loss...I-I don't...n-no...can't...take...that again. Y-you...have to live Zaine.' He then whispered "Did you hear me Zaine...you...have to live...you...can't die.

Shera had fallen asleep, but with all of this noise at the moment she woke up and went to where everyone was. With fear on her face she went standing next to Zaine.
"Stay with us Zaine" she whispered, "please".

Dante too, had started shaking violently, memories flashing through his mind...
"Layla! Don't die on me! Please!" A young Dante, holding his friend close as she died in his arms... His Brother blaming him for the death of his family, the pain of his exile...
He struggled to keep himself from losing it, but he began to feel the tears coming to his eyes
"Don't go, Zaine... Don't go! Don't leave us alone!"
He yelled, eyes haunted by memories, by images only he could see...
Motochika, too, faced his own haunting memories... Memories from the time he was called the 'Blue Devil' and the 'Hero of Tosa'
"Motochika...I...Hope I made you... Proud..." He had said. Nobumasa. Motochika's adopted brother and best friend...
"You did amazingly, Nobumasa. Just stay alive, ok? We have to celebrate this victory tonight, don't we?"
"Heh. Always the dreamer, Motochika. You know... as well as I do... That I'm done for. Good-bye...my brother..." Nobumasa went limp in his arms, and Motochika began to shake him...
"Nobumasa? Nobumasa!? Please! Get up! Don't die on me now! Please!!!"
He cried into the sky as the rain fell around him...
Motochika let a tear reach his eye and said...
"Don't give up on living, Zaine... Please... I... Don't want to lose anyone else..."

"Dont move him!" "We need water!"
"Zaine! ZAINE! Can you hear me? Blink if you can, don't talk!"
Mitch struggled, but he was crying. Zaine was hurt, one of his friends were badly injured. He had failed to protect his friends, big tears fell from his eyes.
Hold on Zaine... Don't die on us! I will never forgive myself if you do!"
He could see blood... Memories of the past went past his eyes like water in a roaring waterfall. He could see his family... His sister... and a big black cloud.
He shooked his head, no was not the time!
"Someone help me with him"
He grabbed a vhine lying on the ground with his teeth.
"I need someone to tie this around his belly, to keep the leaves in place and a pressure on the wound!"

Mim came up beside Mitch and grasp the other end of the vine. "We have to wait till those already working on him say, but this vine is a good idea." Mim said looking to Mitch to try to reassure him and the others present, "He got help very quickly, and now can get even more help so he'll be fine."
Littlefoot arrived about the same time as Mim and headed over to where Ducky and Petrie were. He sat down since he felt fairly tired.
Ducky and Petrie smiled as they saw him but didn't say anything for the moment and the three of them turned to look at the activity around Zaine waiting to see what those working on Zaine would say.
"Don't worry, he'll be ok, there are many people helping him." Littlefoot finally said his feelings in his voice and his face.
"Petrie hope so." Petrie said with emotion in his voice and a tear on his face. Ducky moved to put an arm around Petrie.
"Do not cry Petrie, he will be ok soon. Look at how many are helping him and who they are. He will be ok, yep, yep, yep." Ducky said trying to reassure Petrie, and herself as well.

Cyrix looked over to Mitch and said "I'll help any other way I can!" He worked beside Mim to tie the leaves down. Cyrix then set to work carefully setting the vine against the leaves and holding them together to help stop the blood flow. He then happened to glance at Longtail and saw his face... 'It's happening again...I'm sorry Longtail, but this time you have to fight this on your own.'
He then turned his attention to Mim and asked "Are there any healing plants around here that you know of?"

Dante looked up at Cyrix, saying...
"I'm not sure if there are or not. Virgil should be searching for some right now, though. I hope he finds some, and..."
He looked at the blood-soaked leaves...
"I hope he finds them soon..."

For what it was worth, the leaves were helping more than Zaine expected. The pressure did stop the bleeding from his stomach and legs, and he felt he could actually talk much better than before. Unfortunately, he still felt a lot of pain, but he realized he was going to live. "Guys......I'm so sorry about all of this. I didn't want to be a burden to all of you, and I really appreciate you all helping me so much." He paused and hesitated to speak his next few words. "I'm sorry if I gave anybody the thought that I was going to die, but I think I'm going to live." Of course, he didn't try to stand up because his legs were still injured, but at least he wasn't going to bleed to death.
Chomper was so overjoyed that he began to cry himself. "I was so afraid we were going to lose you! I'm so happy you're going to be ok!" He reached down and hugged Zaine's neck, trying to be careful not to touch his underbelly at all.

At hearing Zaine speak despite his physical pain, Longtail was brought out of his memories and looked down at Zaine and smiled. He was still crying, but Longtail managed to say "I-I'm glad you're going to be...okay Zaine...I-I don't know what...I would've done...if..well..."
Cyrix looked back again at Longtail and smiled as well as he said "Longtail I'm proud of you...just take deep long breaths and you should start to feel better soon." Longtail only nodded at his uncle and did as he was told and took long, deep breaths.
Moments later Hunter along with the others arrived. The moment she laid her eyes upon Zaine she gasped, and looked away...not out of fear, but shock. She couldn't believe this had happened to him. She then looked over to Longtail, who was breathing deeply, and Hunter gave a nervous smile as it looked like Longtail was still shaken up at the sight before him.
Hunter walked over and nudged Longtail and said "Just breath...that's all you have to do..."

Dante looked at Zaine. smiling...
"Heh. It's good to have you back with us...Zaine. You've got guts, pal. I'm glad that you managed to stay. I...don't know what I'd've done if you'd gone and...y'know...kicked it?"
He said, smirking broadly...
"Indeed. I, too, am glad to see that you yet live. If you had been lost...I do not need to describe the pain that it would cause everyone, do I?"
Motochika agreed, though his emotions never seemed to change...

Mim motioned to Petrie, Ducky and Littlefoot, taking them to one side she talked to them in a low voice to not distract the others, "Come on, I know of a few things that may help, but I'll need your help to get them and bring them back." She said. The rest nodded willing to do any sort of help and they followed her to look around at some of the nearby bushes, trees and some other plants, as well as some flat stones.

Mitch took some deep breaths, and managed to regain focus.
Zaine was going to be alright.
"...Is there any way we can get water here?" "Did you guys pass some on your way here?" "If so, I'll go and get some, but I need a hand."
"Zaine might suffer from dehydration if we don't get him some!"

Chomper released Zaine and looked towards Mitch. "There's that river over there. Maybe we can use that."
"It's too dangerous," Zaine shook he head a little. "The current is too fast. If somebody tried to even drink from there they would be carried away." He then looked around and then thought of something. "There is a pond not too far from here. It's the start of the fast river, so you could try using that. All you'd have to do is follow the river until you fin it."
Chomper looked don the river and nodded. "He's right! I can see the pond from here!"

"Then let's go, I need support from one or more with hands, anyone?"

Shera, still shocked from what happened while she was asleep, felt much better now she knew he was going to live. "I'll go with you, come on!" she says.

Dante nodded at Mitch, saying...
"Right! Count me in! I'll help!"
Virgil, who had just returned, agreed, saying...
"Same here. Oh, and Dante? Why exactly did you send Me to go get the herbs? I have... no idea about those..."

Mim came back with the others. Littlefoot had various types of leaves, herbs and other things to help Zaine on his back with Ducky on it to help keep it on Littlefoot's back. Mim was carrying some on her hands also. Petrie flew in holding a large leaf wrapped up.
The group went over to where Zaine was. Mim dropped her stuff in a pile and started taking stuff of Littlefoot's back with Ducky handing them up to her. Petrie landed and put the leaf down.
"I came back with some stuff I found nearby, I wasn't sure what you already had here so I got a mix of stuff, including a few large leaves I found. I thought they could be useful to get Zaine some water if he wants any, or if anyone else wanted to use it." She said indicating the various stuff she had and the large leaf that Petrie had been carrying.

Longtail suddenly shook his head clear and said to Chomper "I'll do it...I can fly faster and get to the water and back sooner." He walked over to Mim and said "Can I use that big leaf Aunt Mim?"

Mim nods handing over the rolled up leaf, "Be careful." She said.
"Me go too, it not safe alone maybe." Petrie said.

Longtail smiled and said "Thanks Petire." he then looked down to Zaine and said "Don't worry, Petrie and I will have your water soon Zaine." He then took the leaf in his mouth and flapped towards the pond, with Petire close behind.

"Okay, thanks guys."
Mitch took one of the bigger leaves in his mouth.
"We'll need this to keep the water in" he said with his mouth full.
"Just hold on Zaine, we won't take long, I promise!"
He smiled against Zaine, glad that he was still alive. He gave him a blink with his right eye. "I'm acctualy jealous at you, the girls will be all over you with a scar like that!" Mitch gave a smile, then set off to get water.

Virgil knelt next to Mim, asking...
"Uhm... Hate to be a bother, but...could you teach me about what you're doing? I'd like to learn, since I'm...well...completely clueless in that area..."
He said, blushing at the thought of admitting his own weakness...

Zaine couldn't help but laugh at Mitch's comment. Wouldn't that be a treat, having the girls swoon over me because of my scar. I hope Mitch realizes that had this resulted differently, there would be no girls falling for me. He then turned to Chomper. "I thank you for your concern Chomper. I think it would be best if you stayed here while Longtail and Petrie are getting the water. You can always sniff out any intruders coming for us."
Chomper nodded. "I just want to be of help. I mean, I was so scared when I found you lying on teh ground like this. I felt like I failed to protect you."
Zaine smiled. "Well, I'm still alive aren't I? You didn't fail, they just got lucky."

Longtail along with Petrie's help returned with the giant leaf filled with water. He then flapped his wings keeping him in place as he asked a question. "Uhh...now that we have the water...we cant really put this leaf down...the water would spill out."
Cyrix looked to the two flyers then to Mim and asked "Well I can take it from here boys." He reached up and took the water filled leaf from Petrie and Longtail, and kept it folded so the water wouldn't spill and then walked over to Zaine and said "We have your water Zaine." Longtail landed and still had a soft, sad look in his eyes as he looked at Zaine. "I'm glad you're okay."

Zaine lifted his head and neck off the ground and sipped the water from the leaf. "Thanks you guys. I really needed that." Chomper had left to gather more things, so Zaine turned towards Longtail. "I'm the one that should be glad you're ok. I'm...so sorry that you and Littlefoot were kidnapped. I didn't intend for it to happen that way, so I'm sorry it ever happened." He then looked down. "The truth is, those egg eaters are now more desperate than ever to get the stone. First they kidnap you guys, and then they try to kill me. This stone really must be real, but is it worth all of this trouble?"

Mim nods to Virgil as she sets the stuff out in a more organized order. "Sure, I don't mind teaching you what I know." She said. She looked at the others, "Who's going to be the main ones helping Zaine. Maybe all of us can work together and teach those willing so they can learn as they help us help Zaine." Mim said. She then looked back at Virgil patting him on the back gently to try to reassure him, "Don't be bashful to admit what you don't know. I heard a wise old person once say, the first step to wisdom is admitting what you don't know, even if only to yourself, the second is willingness to learn." Mim said.
After Petrie was done helping Longtail and Cyrix and the leaf with water in it he flew over to a nearby tree to keep out of the way and keep watch on what they were doing, looking around now and then to see if anyone or thing was trying to sneak up on them.
"I would like to learn, yes I would." Ducky said nodding enthusiastically.
Littlefoot nodded also, "My grandfather says that you can never learn to much." Littlefoot said then looked at the others, "How about you guys?". He asked.

Virgil smiled at Mim, saying...
"Thanks. I'll...do my best to learn. So. How do we go about this?"
He inquired, looking at Zain's wound, then bak at Mim...

Mitch arrived to the pond Zaine had been talking about.
As he stood by the water, he could see the bright circle had begun to make it's way to the mountains, the sky began to shift in color.
He sighed, then sat down by the waterbank.
He looked at the magnificent play of nature.
"......It's.... been quite the day... right?" he said to the others.
"....I just hope it still can end the good ways...."
He turned his eyes to the mountains, and the land beyond them.
....I wonder if they are out there...somewhere...

Zaine looked down at his stomach. "Well, at least the bleeding has pretty muh stopped. Otherwise, I probably would have died by now." He then looked up. "How low was it of those egg eaters to attack me while I was distracted. They could have been spotted by someone else. Do they really want the stone so bad that they have to kill in order to get it?"

Cyrix and Longtail both nodded solemnly as Cyrix said "Yes..I'm afraid so. But we now must wait until your wounds are healed before we can continue." And Longtail smiled and said "YEah, and I'll protect you till my last breath!" He stood straighter and now had a confident smile on his face.

Mim nods, "We all will. That said who will work on what on Zaine, if we work together we can finish faster." Mim said. She makes sure the stuff is organized near Zaine then waits to see if others are going to work on certain areas before she continues.

Cyrix spoke up and said "I'll help."
Longtail nodded and stood next to his uncle and said "Yeah so will I." He then stepped over to Zaine and asked "Just tell me what to do." He smiled as he looked at Zaine knowing he was going to get a chance to help his friend.

Zaine looked around his body. "Well, my stomach seems covered at the moment. I guess if you want to tie something to it I'd be fine with it. I'm concerned about my front legs though. They're cut kind of bad, but they aren't bleeding that much. I know I can't walk on them for a little, but soon they'll heal."
Chomper came back with more leaves and vines. He took the blood soaked leaves off of Zaine's stomach and replaced them with new ones. "Maybe we should get some water on his wounds to clean tem just so they don't become infected or anything."
Zaine smiled at Chomper's deep concern for him. He thought about something, but he instead said it out loud. "I just realized something. Is this journey really to get the stone? Or is it to strengthen our bond with one another?" He looked up at the others. "For the stone, or friendship?"

Mim nods, "Good idea Chomper." she says looking at him then thinking over what Zaine said, "Sounds like at least one with a helper willing to learn on his stomach. One of each on each front leg and maybe another or later to look Zaine over for any bruises or other wounds that need attention." Mim said, hoping to involve most of the folks. She thought briefly to herself the more that help the faster this part of Zaine's treatment will be finished and he can start getting better and it'll give many of the people here something to do also instead of just worrying. She then thought over the last part of what Zaine said, "Maybe its a lot of both.
Littlefoot looked at the stuff, "It's a good thing there are more then one large leaf since it sounds like we'll need a lot of water to wash the wounds."
Petrie & Ducky seeing all the blood looked away, not able to take the sight. Petrie used it to look around from where he was to see if he could see any sharpteeth, or anyone else trying to sneak up on them.

IC: Longtail smiled and said "Chomper is right! We should clean the wounds. Uncle Cyrix if you wouldn't mind using the water please?" Cyrix nodded in response and said "Of course nephew." He stepped over to Zaine with a second leaf full of water, he then set it down and said "Well what's next Longtail?"
The young flyer was surprised by the question and he looked at his uncle for a moment as if he were crazy...but then smiled and said "Okay, uncle, we need to clean his legs, now that his belly is okay."
Cyrix walked over to Zaine and said "This may sting a bit...okay?" He then poured a little onto Zaines legs and waited for the longnecks response.

The longneck felt the sting, but he didn't move so much. "If I'm not able to withstand a little sting from water when I just survived an assassination attempt, then that's just sad." He laughed hoping it would further cheer the others up. He didn't like the overall sense of worry in the are, so he wanted to make the others as happy as possible.

"The sting should not be to bad. Just try to relax and let the rest of us do the work. You'll be back to your old self in no time, but with some scars that will likely attract attention from girl longnecks." Mim said attempting to lighten the atmosphere by adding in some attention.

Dante stood near the others, smirking.
"Yeah. A scar's a great way to attract the ladies... N-Not that I'd know anything about that."
He said, looking over at Hunter and blushing a little...

Virgil, meanwhile, was tying a dressing onto one of Zaine's legs.
"So...am I doing this right, Mim?"
He asked, tilting his head to examine his handiwork...

Mim looked, pausing as she looked over Zaine's other leg nearby, making sure it was cleaned before she started working on it. she looked at what Virgil was doing and how he was doing it, She smiled to Virgil, "Yes, you are doing well." She said looking at him. "You are observant." She said.

Longtail and Cyrix were working on one of Zaines other legs and Cyrix was watching the others work and helping his nephew at the same time. Both stood back a moment and glanced at their handiwork and smiled "Well Zaine" said Cyrix "After another days rest you may be strong enough to stand on your own."
Longtail laughed as he heard what Dante said and replied "Oh, really you don't do you?"
Hunter saw Dante looking at her, and blushed as she said "Oh yeah...well you seem to know more than you tell."

At first, Zaine didn't have any idea what they were talking about. Then he saw Hunter and Dante blushig, and he laughed a little. "My my Dante, a pimp at heart." He laughed a little harder after his comment since he knew it was partially true.

Dante smirked a little, then replied...
"Now Zaine...There's only one lady for me...and she's right here with me"
He said, smiling amorously at Hunter...

Soar landed unnoticed back down near the group, silently berating herself for flying off in search of the egg-snatchers in the wrong direction. Leaning forward a little she began to listen in.

"Don't make me have to give away that secret we agreed upon." said Hunter with a deep blush as she looked at Dante with the same amorous smile on her face. Longtail looked over for only a moment, but then sighed and said "And to think I looked up to you two..."

Dante shot a playful glare at Longtail, saying...
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean, Huh?"
Then he grinned and said...
"You know, I'm gonna have to get you back for that later, pal!"
As he laughed....

Longtail smirked and his response was almost instant.
"Oh please Dante...I'm untouchable! What's the worst you can do to me?"
Hunter smiled as she looked at Dante and gave him that 'you thinking what I'm thinking' kind of stare. She walked forward and said "Well Dante you gonna take that from him?"

Mim finished working on Zaine's leg then went to look at how the wound on his chest had been cared for and if it needed any work or was ok for the present.
Littlefoot, and Ducky watched the goings on, paying attention to both the work done on Zaine and some of the conversation, though only understanding parts of it. Petrie looked around in general, keeping watch for any sneaker uppers and only partially on the work on Zaine, but did listen in and watch part of the conversation.

Mim paused in her work to look it over then looked over at Zaine smiling a bit, "Remember, no smooching lady longnecks till you're fully healed ok?" She said attempting to lighten the mood with a joke, though likely a badly done one.

Cyrix had been walking over to help Mim but stopped mid-step as he heard the joke she told...and he burst into laughter. He actually dropped the items he was carrying to hold his sides as he laughed harder, letting tears streak his face. After getting his laughter under control he looked at her for a moment and blushed.
"You have a very good sense of humor Mim." commented Cyrix with a smile.

Dante had been casually looking around for a moment, then suddenly flicked a small rock, which popped Longtail in the head, and he laughed...
"Untouchable, huh? My friend, consider yourself 'touched'"
Virgil, too, burst out laughing at Mim's comment.
"Hahah! That actually was rather funny, Mim!"
He laughed, clutching at his sides as he laughed.
Even Motochika, who tried to show no emotion, allowed himself a laugh.
"Quite amusing, Mim. Thank you for lightening the mood somewhat."
He said, smiling...

Zaine burst out laughing as well. It seemed wierd how him being in pain brought out all the jokes in people. "I think e need to shy away from the lady jokes, as funny as they are, and maybe we should consider our next path to take."

Longtail smirked at Dante's little antic and said "Oh yeah...how's this for a 'touch'. " He then jumped onto Dante's back and began tickling him with his tail as he said "Guess some of us just can't take real torture!"
Hunter however had sat down and was simply watching what was happening with a bemused smile at the duo's childish antics. 'Such hacthlings.' she thought to herself

"Thanks." Mim said smiling. She finished up on the leg and moved over to take a look at Zaine's belly area where the worst wounds were to look them over and see if anything further needed doing.
Littlefoot laughed at the joke and also from watching what Dante and Longtail were doing as well.
Ducky and Petrie's attention was attracted by the movements by Longtail and they laughed as well.
"Very funny, yep, yep, yep." Ducky said.

Littlefoot looked at Ducky, "You a bit thirsty, I was going to head to the pond over there and wounder if you want a ride." Littlefoot said.
Ducky turned to Littlefoot and nodded, "I am a little thirsty, and spending some time in water would be nice, yes it would." Ducky said then got onto Littlefoot and they went over to where the pond was.
Once there Ducky got off of Littlefoot and got into the water to sit down and drink some as Littlefoot got a drink as well.

Mitch heard voices approaching.
He turned around and saw Littlefoot and Ducky walking his way.
"Oh, it's you guys. Hi..."
In lack of things to say, he siad;
"You're thirsty? Go ahead, there's plenty, tasty aswell...."
He sighned and looked away over the mountains.

Ducky looked up at Mitch, "You sad about something, there is no reason to be sad, no, no, no." She said.
Littlefoot nodded, "Things will be ok, just wait and see. I just know that they will." Littlefoot said.

"Care to sit down for a while? The bright circle's on it's way down..."

Littlefoot nodded, he had gotten his fill of water for now and sat down next to Mitch. Ducky swam over and sat close to Mitch as well. "We are together and we can do more then we can alone, yep, yep, yep." Ducky said.

A big, lonely tear fell from Mitch's right eye.
"...Littlefoot?.. You have a father out there... do you not...?"

Littlefoot nods, "I do. He doesn't live in the Great Valley. He lives with his herd in the mysterious beyond, but he does visit the Great Valley with Shorty. I do miss him though." Littlefoot said.

Motochika stood back a ways from the others, having left the group tending to Zaine, so that he could be alone with his memories.
"Then I envy you. You both knew your family. I...have had no such solace. I have never known my family, nor will I ever. You...should take comfort in those memories, for they will never abandon you..."
He said, stepping forwards, looking out at the sunset...

No, thought Soar, memories will never abandon you: just haunt you until you wished that they'd never happend.
She pondered that. It was a case of idolising what you didn't have. If she didn't have these memories then she would probably wish she did...

"I just have this feeling..."
"I had a sister once you see..." he looked at the sundown.
"....Sometimes, when I look at the sundown, I get the feeling that..."
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, to avoid crying.
"That she might be alive... out there somewhere...alone..."

Longtail stopped tickling Dante as he looked over to Mitch and Motochika. He saw their faces and suddenly felt bad. He walked over and asked "Are you two okay? Is there anything I can do?" He didn't want his friends to be sad like this...as he waited for their answers

Littlefoot thought for a bit looking at nothing in particular and then looked back up to Mitch, "Maybe if you or we asked them my grandparents may adopt you like a grandson, like my father adopted Shorty. He lost his parents as well." Littlefoot said.
Ducky nodded, "That is a good idea it is. Then the both of you would be like brothers, like Spike is my brother and Shorty is Littlefoot's brother, yep, yep, yep." She said. What Littlefoot said sounded like a very good idea to her.

Cyrix looked to Zaine and then asked "So, those egg eaters have slowed us down...where do we go from here little one? We know your health and healing these wounds are top priority but still...should I send Longtail on ahead high in the sky to keep tabs on them?"

Mitch felt his heart performing a big jump as he heard Littlefoot and Ducky's words.
He almost choked!
"! Hold it... I... It's true that..."
Then he looked away for a few seconds, and eventually started to smile.
"That.. would be wonderful...!"
He then turned back.
"But... do you think your grandparents would let me...? I mean..."
He looked away again, the bright circle was almsot gone now.
"I've been... taken care of myself all my life... I... just miss a real family..."
"...And I sure would like you as a brother!" he said smiling bright to Littlefoot.

Littlefoot nodded, "I"m sure they'd be glad to." Littlefoot said.
"Oh yes, they are both very nice, I"m sure they would be glad to have you as a grandson, they would." Ducky said.

Dante stood up, walking over to Motochika's side and placing a hand on his shoulder.
"What're you talking about? You do have a family. They're all around you. At least, that's what I believe. You don't have to be alone."
He said, looking at all the faces gathered around him, and smiling as he thought...
"I thought I was alone, too. But...Then I found everyone, and I feel...like a part of a family..."

Shera walked over to Petrie and asked: 'Have you seen anything special so far?'
She was still a bit afraid of the eggstealers.

Petrie looked down to where Shera is, "Me see nothing of them yet. They cowards me think." Petrie said, still angry what they did to his friend Zaine. "How you do?" Petrie asked concerned with how Shera felt and was doing.

Mitch walked over to the water bank.
He stood still for some seconds, and watched the final light from the bright circle as it descended into the mysterious beyond.
He made up his mind, he knew what to do.
"...Littlefoot..."
"I.. hope you can understand this but..."
"I can't...I just can't...
"Cause it's true what Motochika says, no matter what, we will always be friends, sisters and brothers.
"................."
And I still can't stop belive...."
"I know that my family was lost..."
"But I know she's alive!"
"And soon, I'll leave the valley and search for her!"

Zaine nodded towards Cyrix. "Well, they did slow us down, but I doubt they're going to get far any time soon. This river looks like it could go on forever, and the egg eaters were stupid enough to completely miss the ponbd. They could have walked around that , but now they have to find a way to cross the fast moving river." He laughed at this comment. "They may be powerful, but they sure are idiots." He then looked in the direction of the pond. "If we go around the pond, we'll be on the right path. The Smoking Mountain isn't too far from here, so if we hurry we can make it there by the time the bright circle falls from the sky."
Chomper walked towards Zaine. "Zaine, you do realize what we would be walking into right? That path takes us through the boundaries of the Mysterious Beyond. We might get attacked by sharpteeth there, and I don't want to see anybody else get injured or captured."
Zaine nods. "It's a risk we have to take. It's the fastest way to the stone, and besides we have you, Hunter, and Dante to sniff out any trouble."
Chomper thought for a second and then came up with an idea. "What about my parents? I coul convince them to help give us safe passage through the Mysterious Beyond. They're really big sharpteeth, so nothing will be able to attack us!"
Zaine smiled. "That actually is a really good idea, but I'm not sure if everyone is as comfortable with your parents as some of us are. We might need to take some time to convince the others." He then turned towards Cyrix. "What do you think? Would this be a good idea?"

Mim stood up and decided to take a break from working on Zaine so she could rest, then look over and see if any more work needed to be done. She listened to the conversation and nodded, "Those sound like good plans. Has anyone here met Chomper's parents?" Mim asked.
"Me remember them, they scary," Petrie nodded shivering a bit as he remembered what they looked like, "They promise we be ok with them." Petrie said remembering what Chomper had said they had said, "We met them on island in big water." Petrie said. He turned to look in the direction of where the big water was, "Sometimes me think of Mo and Elsie. Me hope they ok." Petrie said, missing his friends a bit who they had met before.

Littlefoot nodded, "I understand. And if you need any help I"ll be glad to help you find them." Littlefoot said.
Ducky floated on her back, looking at the sky above. "I would be glad to help too, yep, yep, yep." Ducky said.

Soar, who had been listening in undetected, certainly did not think that going into the Mysterious Beyond at all was a good idea. Quite naturally she was very wary of trusting Sharpteeth too. If it wasn't for her seemingly unquenchable curiousity, and the knowledge that if needed she could fly off, she would had turned back long ago.

He asked, turning to look at his brother...
"I...I'll help too. It's the least I can do to...to make up for what happened in the Beyond, right?"
Virgil replied, nodding his head faintly...

Mitch came walking over to the others, having listened to what they said, he spoke,
"I will go to. Chomper, can we trust your parents? Mitch said with a serious tone.
"I know it's your parents, but still... you know me and sharpteeth..."
"We don't get along so well..." Except for you guys, he looked at the sharpteeth in the group." and gave a unsure smile.

Littlefoot came over carrying Ducky. "What is this talk about Chomper's parents?" Littlefoot asked, having missed part of the conversation.
"I remember them, they were not mean the second time we met them, no they were not, not like the first time." Ducky said,
"Me remember." Petrie said.
Mim, mainly done resting started looking over Zaine to see if anywork needed redoing, or any spots were missed as well as seeing how in general and specific Zaine was doing.

Shera shivered again, this time not because of cold but because of thinking of sharpteeth.
"Chomper is nice, so his parents must be too" she whispered to herself. "Everything will be ok..."
She looked at the others, a bit unsure..

Chomper nodded. "Don't worry. They made a promise that they wouldn't harm any of my friends. You guys can trust them." He then looked to Zaine and nodded. "I think that would be the best plan. They know the safest route through the Mysterious Beyond, so they can lead us to safety."
Zaine looked over to Littlefoot who had just arrived. "We have to cross through the Mysterious Beyond in order to get to the Smoking Mountains. So I came up with the idea about getting Chomper' parents to help us."

Longtail smiled as he said "That's a great idea...besides I've always wanted to meet your parents Chomper." Longtail then looked to his uncle and asked "What do you think?"
Cyrix nodded in agreement as ha said "Yes...that seems to be the best solution I can see so far." Cyrix then looked over to Hunter and asked "Well...any problems with that?"
The alimon raised her head and said "Whatever works for you." She then asked Chopmer "Do your parnets have any issues with other sharpteeth...like me?" It wasn't that she didn't trust them, but she just wanted to be sure.

"Yeah. Not to sound rude or anything, but...I'm kinda used to being...y'know...Chased off by other sharpteeth..."
Dante said, trying his best to make light of the situation...

Chomper shook his head. "They won't have a problem with you guys. Since you are all friends of ours, then there should be no problem." He looked towards the distant Smoking Mountain. "Whatever the case, we should leave once you are healed Zaine. Those cowardly egg eaters slowed us down, so we need to make up more time."
Zaine laughed. "Relax Chomper. We don't need to hurry so much. There's no way they'll be able to cross the river, so it should slow them down as well." He then looked down at his legs. "My legs are crippled so much that I won't walk again, but for now they need to heal. You are right though. When all my injuries are healed, then we will head out."
