I just found out about this last week and at first I thought it was a rumor. But it's true:

And here's the preview for it:

I love Lilo and Stitch and for now I'm not going to judge the anime version of it until I see it when it comes out.

The characters look all the same (with a slightly difference).
But the qualitiy of the area, backgrounds and such are total anime style.

But there is one question: Why are they doing this?
It really lacks of originality. Might give it a try though.

That's just weird. :p :p  Stitch still looks like Stitch though....there's at least one positive thing I can see already.

They didn't change Stitch, Jumba, and Pleakley. Lilo is not in the anime version. She's replaced with another character -- Hanako. And the setting has been changed to a fictional island near Japan. And I believe that Nani is replaced with a Grandmother.

I really have no clue why Disney agreed to do this. Maybe for the money? (Who knows?)

Well THAT'S pessimistic.   <_<  I'm with Timehopper on this.  I'm not going to jump to any conclusions until I see it.

Huh, interesting. I mean, I heard about the anime series but I was expecting a few looks to change, it still looks american drawn except for the new girl. And that duck scares me.

From what I understand from that trailer, apparently that watch Stitch has takes count of every good deed he does, I guess he needs to make certain amount of good deeds or something?

I'm willing to give this series a chance. I mean, I liked the Powerpuff Girls anime, so I guess this one will be just as good. Although from my experience every american cartoon they turn into anime ends up being more comical if the Powerpuff Girls anime is of any indication.

I utterly loathe and revile Lilo and Stitch, anyway. If the original soucre can't do a good job, then somebody from a different part of the world entirely stands no chance.

I really like Lilo and Stitch. In fact, Stitch is probably my favourite Disney character. Still, this anime version of (Lilo and) Stitch doesn't look like it's the sort of thing that would be seen on our screens I wouldn't have thought as we do not seem to have much in the way of Disney anime (not from what I've seen anyway). It is probably a production of Disney's Japanese section rather than the American one. Does anyone know if the original creator Chris Sanders is involved in the making of this version? If not, I'm gonna assume Disney's Japanese section is taking charge and we may not end up seeing much of it. It doesn't look like it's moving outside of Disney's creative studios so it's hardly a sellout. Looks interesting though...anyone know japanese?

The aliens look fine but Lilo's appearance is a shock.

That would be interesting. Does he still have 998 cousins and still have Angel as his girlfriend?
