To be honest, I missed the joke too :P:
Remember, we have faces to help express sarcasm and other joking/casual emotions. :p
Use em!  We can't hear you speak; it's not always obvious what you're thinking. ;)  This goes for everyone.  The feeling behind a post can be shown more clearly if the emoticons are used. It helps avoid misunderstandings. B)

I know that, but I figured that what I said was silly enough that it wouldn't be taken as anything but a joke. Sorry.

There are fools like myself who would take ANYTHING serious unless the speaker has a sign reading "Joking" pinned to his or her face

My fav char is Littlefoot the Flathead *remembers when Petrie called Littlefoot a Flathead. LOL*

And my least favorite is... *total silence* ... Ozzy, from the 2nd movie, 'cause like any other villains, he's really mean even with his own bro. So, down with Ozzy!

Aye, but Ptyra wasn't around at that time. It is about one of those questions most peoeple want to deal with and it sure is much better to revive an old thread than starting another one on the same topic :yes

Fave char film (original one) ducky fave char series chomper. Chompers voice actor has given him such much life and a style all his own. Chomper has this really practiced way of speaking makeing sure very thing he says is crisp and clear. You here the ts in don't won't can't etc were as with most other chars and even people you don't hear them so much. We all tend to say i don' know or i won' Chomper is I don't know Or i won't

Fave supporting char hypes father. Mostly do to how he handeled the 2 raptor dinos to ither side. He slashed them both with his thumb claws. Those handy little things had been found broken off in various meat eater fossiles and deep gouges in fossiles as well.

Fave supportign char in series ruby. Shes not a main char imo as we don't have much visable backstory for her. Over the years we know the main 5s backstories as we have been shown them. We also know a fair bit about chomper and other thigns we can make educated assumtions about. Like all assumptions though assuming somethign tends to make a something out of you (u) and me (me) hehe. In other words we will assume something then be proven wrong by what the writers decide to say.

Did he?
I don't think Hyp's species even had any kind of claws in the movie. He and his Dad weren't Iguanodons (though there were Iguanodons shown in LBT 3). Assuming that Hyp was (same as Nod and Mutt) named after the species he was supposed to represent I would suppose him a Hypsilophodon, a species without any claws. Claws or no claws, Hyp's father did take on those three Raptors.

hype and his father were Hypsilophodon And yes they had thumb claws. They were sharp. Claw fragments and tips from both mentioned have been found in trex bones etc. and yes he did slash them both. If you watch carefully in the one scene where he runs towards them he extends his arms outward and as he goes by he slashes at both and brings his arms across his body after.

At least the Hypsilophodon seems to most likely choice. They definitely weren't Iguanodons. The following LBT 3 screenshot shows two Iguanodons on the right who look very different from Hyp or his father. Moreover it is mentioned in LBT 3 that Hyp's kind doesn't grow very large while Iguanodon certainly wasn't a small species. Hypsilophodon was.

Hyp and his father didn't sport any sharp claws. Their hands didn't look any more dangerous than Ducky's hand for example. I think I recall Hyp's father banging the heads of two raptors together, but I'm quite sure there wasn't any slashing or stabbing movement which would have implied any claw attack.

remember: they avoid blood drawing, so they can't really have an effective slashing =\ =/ and not everything is accurate you know that :p

This is very much true but don't forget that there are still a few hints of blood and physical wounds in LBT like in LBT 5, the fight between Chomper's parents and that other sharptooth. A think as long as gore is kept too a minimum it's not a bad thing. You can depict violence without having a blood fountain spurting everywhere!

I don't remember any stabbing or slashing movement from that fight though. It is a long time since I last watched LBT 3 and I don't have my copy at hand right now so I cannot check it out, but I'm quite sure that Hyp's Dad's fighting was more about fists and speed rather than claws.
