So I was thinking of starting up an LBT RP, set several years after the first season of the show. Canon and OCs are welcome, though the universe will be strictly LBT. This will sort of be a continuation of the series, a "what if" if the franchise kept going, sort of similar to vonboy's Past-O-Rama. I have a few plot arcs in mind, but just because I'm starting this RP, don't think I'm not open to taking other plot arcs as well. :p That's half the fun of an RP after all, getting input from players and having them craft their own stories.
I figure I'll see who's interested, and get a list going of those who are, as well as the characters they'll be playing. I don't care how many characters a player wishes to control, but I would ask they don't stretch themselves beyond their limit. If you're choosing a popular character (i.e. a member of the gang) then I ask you limit your selection to just one for now to be fair to everyone else who might wish to have a slice of the gang.
I should be starting this fairly soon, within the next few days, depending on how many I get, and sign-ups will be continuous even after it starts, so you won't have to worry about being late if you miss the start. I'll start it slow, and won't get to any major plot events right away either, to once again allow for potential latecomers. It'll mostly just be intros and setup starting off.
As I'm starting, I guess I'll be the first to call some characters. Naturally, I'll be calling Pterano (and no, this is by far not going to be a Pterano centric RP). :p Unless someone REALLY wants Rinkus, I'd like to put myself down for him as well, and I'll also take Hyp for my last starting character. I'm going to hold off and wait for everyone else before I call any others. Oh yes, character choices will be on a first come and first served basis. So the list is as follows:

Ooh, I'm interested. Ok, for OC's of course I'd love to bring Harper into this. Um, even if I haven't gotten there in my story, Ridge does end up in the Valley so I'll bring him in too if it's cool

Attention RPers! A bit of an update on this. I am looking at a tentative start date of Friday, July 8th. So be ready for that. :) And to any potential RPers looking to join, you can still join after the start, as said.
So yeah, I think for now we've got enough for the start, and I've got the first few events written down, so I have a good idea of how to start this. So stay tuned, and looking forward to RPing and writing with you all. :DD

I want to bring up that no one has made any comment on me wanting to bring in the Professor. Are you all okay with this? I just want to know.

Oh yeah, that's right. We should probably let vonboy know if we're for or against the idea, and he said he'd be fine with whatever his fellow RPers came up with. :) I'll vote last, just to serve as a tiebreaker or something in case there is one. :p
Also, I'm thinking of taking Littlefoot as well, for now, but if someone comes along who really wants to play him, I'll gladly turn him over. :)

Yeah I was wondering if I shouldn't do the same with someone else from the gang, like Cera and temp them until taken. I may, if it's not overload of the gang characters by one person.
oh and on Vonboy's question. Hmm I don't know. Throwing in a human would seem to, not overtake any and all other plot points, but complicate a lbt rp if you get my drift.
I'm not completely opposed and if the vote went to bring him in, that's fine, but I think I'd have to put my vote in as a maybe we shouldn't. Just my two cents and I don't hate the character or anything vonboy, I am still reading through and liking your Past O Rama :)

I'd be fine with you temporarily taking another member of the gang. :) What I'm thinking of doing is listing the temp characters as played by whomever of us is taking them, but also noting next to their names that they can be given up upon request if needs be. :)
As for vonboy's idea, I know he's not going to take it personally. :) We all love the Professor of course. :) As for my vote, I guess I can say I sort of agree with Mama's Girl on this one. I might warm up to the idea of introducing him as the RP goes on, but I think initially at least, I just want to see how things go without introducing a human right off. Like her, I'm not completely opposed either, but I feel more like taking a "wait and see" stance on this for now.

Of couse, of course. :) In fact, the opening scene will be sort of similar to the opening of the seventh movie, with the arrival of some farwalkers in the evening. :yes So yes, that's fine, if you want to make it official. :)

Though since Redback and Tero are kinda sharpteeth, I don't think coming in with the farwalkers would work that well. Unless they tried to smuggle themselves in somehow...

I don't know, but picturing them as trying to smuggle themselves in is pretty amusing. XD And well, keep in mind, Rinkus and Sierra were able to enter with the farwalkers, despite the both of them technically being "sharpteeth". :p I'd say Tero is on the same level as either of those flyers, but yes, Redback could pose a problem. XD
Either way, it's not going to be set all in the Great Valley, so both of those characters still work. I added them in to the list. :)

I understand about the Professor.
I think I'll take Ruby up temporarily, just so we can have the full speaking Gang of Seven doing something. Also, Could someone take up Grandpa Longneck? It'd be nice to have the adult perspective in this RP as well, and old Mr. Threehorn here needs SOMEONE to argue with! :p

Mind if I bring in my OC Cira? She's a Fast Biter (Velociraptor) but she speaks Leaf Eater as well. Hm, maybe she could hang out with Tero and Redback? lol
For an FC? Hmm...I think I might take on Grandpa Longneck, that's if no one else wants him.
For Vonboy's Professer idea, I agree with the two viewpoints already mentioned. He's an awesome character but I'm not sure about him being in the RP like, right at the begining.

Ooh, Cira sounds like she could make things interesting for Redback and Tero. As it happens, I have another OC who is also a fast biter (In this case, a coelophysus), but I think Redback and Tero are more interesting OCs.

So with a role play where Pterano's return is atleast one big plot point, I have been batting around how Petrie's mom probably needs to be one of the other adults taken and present in the adult meeting circle.
and four regular and one temp characters not too much so if you want and it's fine I'll tackle her in either preminant or just temp capacity :)

I was thinking of having Chomper and Ruby take trips into the Mysterious Beyond often. Ruby will say it's to go see her family, but it's really to find something for Chomper to eat. Does that sound good?

I will be taking the part of Rhett. When it comes to character control, I do better with negative ones who have a lot to learn. :rolleyes: Now, Pterano will be posting in this thread shortly to explain why I didn't just pick a random character and say I'd play him. There is actually a valid reason why I offered to be him, and our game master will be explaining all very soon. I look forward to joining you, and I hope that my limited experience will still allow me to be a benefit and not a hinderance in this RPG.

we've changed the rules about editing. posters will be limited to 15 minutes after posting where they can edit their posts. after 15 minutes if you want to change a post, an admin will have to edit the post for you.

From what I've heard, the change is supposed to combat the whole issue with posters making inflammatory/hateful posts, then editing them to say "nevermind" or something like nothing happened to try not to get caught.

So, how long are your RP post gonna be?
I used to role play in the Insane Cafe 3, and my posts there were usually numerous pages long. If I recall, my posts there would often be three to five pages, but I got burned out, so I believe they'll be substantially shorter here.

Actually, I'll be fine with that! It'd be quite interesting to see Redback from the point of view of a different writer!

Alright, here is what LBTDiclonius and I have in mind for our Rhett and Ali side story. We are going to be making a little side scene like the one we are doing today once every couple days or so. We will time them so her and I are both on and can keep up with each other quickly. We will try and time these when the last post of the main story is not really in the middle of something, like when it ends with an ellipsis like the last post did when her and I started, so we arenët really interrupting. Because it would really get confusing for both stories to get mixed up through posts at the same time, I have a request. Would you all mind holding off while we do our short scenes please? They won’t last very long, we won’t make them too often, and it wouldn’t really hurt anything for the main story to stop for just a couple hours at the most, and the side story will combine with the main story eventually.

Could you say in the RP when you two are done with this burst of postings? That would be a big help to us.
And since the general consensus on this was "Let's wait and see", I'll raise this question again. Could I bring in the Professor soon? I'll wait for Pterano to decide, and I'm guessing he will wait for answers from several members.

I do have an opinion, yes. I haven’t read your fan fiction yet, but I have heard enough about it to know who the professor is. To be honest, if it was put to a vote, I would vote nay. Pterano has established a canon LBT RPP, something that realistically flows with the official storyline. If a human is brought in, the LBT feel will be either lost or become much less noticeable. Humans make for a great fan fiction if the story is based around it and is a free genre. But when something tries to be canon and work with what was already made, something that could never exist in the parameters set by the original creators would no longer allow the story to keep its canon feel. From what I hear, he is an awesome character, but not all great characters have a place in all stories.

Well actually, I am trying to keep it as pure an LBT story as I can, under the circumstances. There will be a few things that are new, but generally, I'm trying to write within canon. I think I agree with The Friendly Sharptooth's opinion, though if more people chime in, I'll hold off casting my final vote until then.
I'm not really gonna officially vote unless there's a tie or something. I'll just act like the Vice President for now. :p

I'm not sure if any of the characters are open to take, but if it's possible, I'd like to take control of Cera and Ruby. As for Original characters I'd like to use Longtail the glider and his 'Uncle' Cyrix the rainbowface.

I'm controlling Ruby at the moment, but only temporarily, so you can take her. Pterano does have a rule here that you can only control one of the Gang of Seven. Me and Mama's Girl have two each just because we didn't have enough people to start out with, and somebody had to control them. I don't know if he's changed his mind on that or not. You might have to pick between either Cera or Ruby.
Also, you really should read through the whole thing so far to freshen up on whats going on. Like with a clusterfudge of a TV soap opera, there's tons of different story-lines going on at the same time, so it'll be a little hard to get in characters with an established character in here :lol .
Edit: I still wanna work Cutter into this thing somehow :yes Don't really know yet how I'll do it, but just put me down for Cutter. And put me down for his two brothers, Guaro and Bo if that's not too much :DD

OK, to give you a brief recap of what's going on Great Valley Guardian (as vonboy said it's been a bit), basically we started off in the evening of day one with a Farwalker herd arriving in the Great Valley, which contained Petrie's uncle Pterano (whose exilse was up), Devon, Redback, Tero, and Rinkus, among others. Not much happened that night, just some reunions with Pterano and such, and after that we moved ahead to the next day, although Cera's father told his daughter the truth about Pterano, and what really happened to her siblings and mother.
This day entailed a meeting of the adults to deal with Pterano, and also Redback living in the Great Valley, who had revealed himself to Littlefoot in secret. The Council voted in favor of both of these things, though Cera was upset that Pterano was here, because of her mother and siblings being with the herd he led to their deaths.
The gang gathered for a bit, and Pterano brought Petrie over to them after running into a mysterious female flyer that no one had seen before. She claims to have come in with the farwalkers, but this doesn't seem to be true, according to the farwalkers themselves. Petrie's mother ran into Pterano's biological son, Norton, who had been separated from his father before he was born, and Pterano does not know of his existence.
As Pterano, Petrie and Devon arrived at the spot the gang was at, Littlefoot was just returning with Chomper and Ruby, after learning that Chomper had been keeping secret from his friends the fact he'd been eating meat. Littlefoot resolved not to tell any of the others this, but before they could progress too much, Rinkus swooped down and nabbed Ducky. Pterano and Devon took after him, but before much could happen, the skies became overcast and very unusual flying rocks began landing in the Great Valley. They set small fires and gave off a very high amount of smoke. They kept coming as well, and started driving the denizens out.
Rinkus dropped Ducky and fled, after Chomper helped attack him by using Tero to land on his back. Pterano saved both of them, and he and Harper began leading the gang to safety through the thick smoke. The Rainbow Faces, who had come in with the farwalkers, hooked up with the gang as well, as did Hyp, and they're all outside the walls of the Great Valley presently. They were attacked by Redclaw and his group, but managed to fight them off (with the assistance of more of those unusual rocks, as well as a treesweet barrage and the appearance of Norton), and the Rainbow Faces have taken the gang to a secluded alcove out in the Mysterious Beyond for shelter as night is starting to fall.
Littlefoot, Norton, Devon, Chomper, Redback, Tero, and Ruby, have all gone off to get Chomper some food before darkness sets in. The adults have regrouped, but they've just come back into the RP, and they aren't sure where the gang is (though they too made it out safely).
Meanwhile, Rhett and Ali's herd is somewhat close to this area, and after getting Ali to play rescue with him again, Rhett and Ali were kidnapped by some domeheads and taken off. Finding an opportunity to escape their captors after spending some time as prisoners, Rhett has led Ali away from the domeheads, but is unsure himself of where he's going.
So that's where we are, in brief summation. The second day is just about over, as the sun is sinking, and yeah. Once again, welcome with us :)

Well depends on what you mean by late. :) If you're off to college in a few days and you won't be able to post, then... I guess? But if it's anything else, I don't think you're too late. :smile What character(s) did you want to play as?

Since the Mysterious Beyond seems to be a big part in this I wouldn't mind using 2 of my many OCs, Fang and Nat, both sharpteeth only a tad older than Chomper. They both speak Leaf Eater as well.
Fang's a Spinosaurus, blue with a navy-blue strip down back and 'spine'. Full red eyes like usual sharptooth eyes and black claws. He's not that nice at first, but he'll still make friends on some occasions.
Nat's a Giganotosaurus AKA the plated sharptooth from the Big Water movie. He's black with a yellow strip going down his side from nose to tail. Yellow eyes and white claws. He's kinda nice, not as nice as Chomper though and he keeps Fang from being too bad haha.
If you guys need some kinda big bad guy for fun I can temporarily bring in my OC Red Tooth, he's a Spino even bigger and badder than the Original Sharptooth. Dark blue, black 'spine' and strip across his stomach. Black claws and a scar from his eye, down his snout and too one of his longer than usual teeth which made it red. Regular eye is yellow, scarred one is red, slit pupils like a cat.

I put you in for all three. :) As far as villains go, just discuss whenever you're going to bring them in in this thread first, just in case another player had something planned and that gets interrupted or something. :) But other than that, welcome to the RP. :smile

Pretty much everyone is now. The Great Valley had to be evacuated due to the flying rocks emitting an unusually high amount of smoke. There's two groups though. The gang and Hyp are with Redback, Tero, Devon Harper, Ridge, the Rainbow Faces and Pterano, and they're in a sheltered alcove for the night with a small waterfall and much green food, though the place itself is pretty small. Everyone else, including all the adults, are outside the walls of the Great Valley, but not too far into the Mysterious Beyond just yet.
Ali and Rhett are also off in the Mysterious Beyond, wandering around after their capture by domeheads, though how far out they are is hard to say at the moment, though they'll probably be running into us sooner or later.

Well for what? I didn't see anything particularly wrong with it, aside from the alcove only having one opening, so they probably couldn't see EVERYONE right off. :) Think of a giant circular impression that's been carved into a ridge, with one opening leading in to it. :)

OK I DID edit it for him to keep Chomper's secret for now, as I think it'll be better this way... plus provide more stress for Littlefoot. :lol

Cuz if his species Nat's a little bigger than Chomper and Fang's about the same size as Nat, maybe a tiny bit bigger. Spino's are the biggest sharpteeth ever after all :lol

Hmm, is this night going to be dragging on for some more still? I know Norton wants to have a long chat with Pterano, and Littlefoot is having big second thoughts about keeping his secret. Are we going to be getting both of those out of the way tonight in the RP?

Yeah, though I'm starting to think that Littlefoot won't get to breaking his secret tonight. Norton might talk to Pterano, or he might not, but yeah, depending on what happens next, they'll be moving off to bed, and then move on to the next day.

I don't think I'll be posting in this RP again until the morning. This day in the RP just keeps dragging on and on forever, and It's getting kinda old.

Anyone have any objections to a time jump to the next morning with my next post? I think we've done everything for this day, and we can move on to new adventures tomorrow in the RP. :)
Also, as a reminder, remember that autoing is NOT allowed. That includes saying what happens to your opponent in a fight. The only reason I broke this rule was because it was being disregarded in the Sierra fight multiple times. Autoing of any kind is not allowed unless you have permission from the other player. It's up to them if a blow lands on them or not.

OK, I've got some good stuff planned for when they return to the Great Valley (and find out they can't enter!) in a few more posts. :) They'll be forced to divide up into two groups, looking for fresh spots to bring the denizens of the Great Valley to, and both groups will encounter dangers, foes, and other things that I'm not going to spoil just yet. XD
Also... not sure what the status of LBTDiclonius and The Friendly Sharptooth is, as I haven't seen LBTDiclonius on that much in general, but if you want to bring Ali and Rhett in either before they reach the Great Valley or afterward, that would be a good time. :yes

I'm here, don't worry. Never left. TFS and I haven't planned our next scene yet, mostly because of me going back to school. On that note, I might not post that much because of homework, school, and all that other stuff, but, I'll get around to it. Eventually. :)

Um, I'm just wondering if I could come back in now? I've been reading and waiting for the right time.
Since a river rescue is needed, and Spinosaurus has been said to be a good swimmer, maybe Fang could be an accidental hero? Maybe just happen to surface from under Cutter or something.
