Just found a bunch of pictures that I took in Photography a while back when I was still in school, thought it might be fun to post a few of them on here. I might put some more up later too (ones that aren't terrible, at least  :p)

Nice to share some pictures you took here.   I look forward to if you post any more.  Interesting shots you choose for certain pictures.  How did you like the photography class?

Thanks guys  :) The photography class was pretty enjoyable, though at the time I think that was mainly because we could keep going out on field trips  :p Looking back at it though, actually taking the pictures was loads of fun so I might start taking it up again.

I'll probably be putting some more up soon  :yes

I look forward to it.  :) Just out of curiosity, are most of the other pictures object-focused, or were there some projects where individuals or landscapes were the focus?

It's a pretty mixed bag, there's some of everything. I seem to remember that we had assignments like 'People', 'Sense of place' and 'Structures', stuff like that, so landscapes and individuals are definitely the focus for a part of it.

The files used to be all arranged into the different assignments they were for, but annoyingly my computer decided to throw them all in one and mix everything up  :p I'll try and put in a range of different types next time though.

Righty, here's another couple of pictures:

Hope you guys like them  :) I should be able to upload pictures that I'm taking in France at the moment, maybe I'll put those up next time. As well as some pics of the ridiculously creepy place I'm staying at  :p

^ I second that motion.  :smile Of the ones in your recent post, I especially like the slice-of-life photos (the women reading and the pedestrians moving about) and the photograph of the bird that you caught at just the right moment.

Thanks guys :) Yeah, getting pictures of people going about their lives is always really fun. I'm going to be trying to focus on that kind of stuff for the trip pictures. And I remember that seagull at the end was a nightmare, had to take a tonne of pictures before I got a good one  :p

Glad you two liked them!

I enjoyed the pictures.  Lots of interesting shots.  The foggy windows gave things a different sort of look.

Second part  :rolleyes::

Not a whole lot of people shots in this bunch, but the next batch'll probably include a whole load of them from this market thing I went to (where one stall was selling used underwear for some reason...)

Nice shots.   That does look like a narrow building in one of the shots.    Any of those you enjoyed taking or enjoy the results of best?

Thanks guys  :) Yeah Ducky, I thought you might like the sky shots  :p I enjoyed them, it was quite relaxing. If I ever get an evening here that isn't just completely grey with clouds, I'd like to take more of them  :yes

I'd say I probably liked taking the picture of the long street in the first part where it's just started raining, because of the effect of the reflections on the floor with the lights in the distance. I really like the last two as well, mainly because I've never taken those kinds of photos before and when I was looking back at them, there was something I really liked about the 'bigness' of it (the only word I could think of :p)

It's annoying, I think the first picture of the big lollypop thing could have turned out a little better if it wasn't for that weird blue tinge to the light, because I accidentally set the camera to some weird setting without realising. Still included it because I really like how the light's bouncing off the lolly surface though.

Personally, I like the lollipop one. The bluing effect of the light makes the place look cold and clinical, despite the location's obvious warmth. Also, a bit of Photoshop magic to make the place look abandoned and in ruin, perhaps after a bout of snow, would fit the lighting perfectly. :yes
These are some great shots. :)

Very nice shots.  I especially like the close ups of some of the architectural details, like the narrow passage way.  I originally was considering a career in architecture and accordingly I took 4 years of drafting and computer-aided design in High School, but I eventually decided on a career in Biology by the end of High School.

Thanks Justin and rhombus  :) Looking back on the Lollypop picture, I guess the lighting isn't too bad. Especially when I think about your interpretation of it, Justin  :p

That's pretty interesting, I never knew you had an interest in architecture, rhombus.
