Edgar Wallace - British whodun author.

It is the curse of names that very many of them end either with an e or an n. So I suggest that rather than taking the last letter in the name we ought to chose the first letter of the last name (W in this case) for the first letter of the next characters first name. It might make the whole game less limited to few letters, for last names begin less uniform than they end. Alright?

Mary Stuart - we talked so much about her in the British history thread that I don't think any further comment is necessary.

Benjamin Franklin - publisher, scientist, embassador, genius. Known especially for his kite experiement (which resulted in the invention of the lightning conductor) and for being America's first embassador to France.
He was also involved in the editing of Thomas Jefferson's first draft of the declaration of independence (which was a little more flowery than the version that was finally used).

Thomas Jefferson - wrote the draft of the declaration of independence. He was the 3rd US President. The Louisiana purchase falls into his presidency. Even though he was critiziced for issuing the Embargo Act of 1807 (which prohibited any oversea trade to prevent US ships from being attacked by the navies of France or England), he is considered one of the smartest US presidents ever.
He always empahsized the need of a power with as little influence on peoples' private lifes as possible. He did sort of counteract himself in the way he pushed through the Embargo Act.
