Title: Gamers' Wishlist
Post by: Littlefoot1616 on September 23, 2009, 08:01:49 AM
Hey guys!

Every gamer has a handful of titles that they just can't wait to get their paws on. With eyes set on the gaming horizon, from one gamer to each other, feel free to share your wishlist and wanna-own titles here along with a few words explaining if you so desire.

Here's mine:

Uncharted 2: Having played the first one and loved it, this newest installment looks to be every bit as fun, immersive and brutal as it's predecessor. Can't wait for this one!

Bioshock 2: Another sequel I'm gunning for. I mean, c'mon! You get to parade around as a Big Daddy! Who can't love that?! Since it's promising to be every bit as creepy and twisted as the first one. I'm gonna be up front for this one too

Modern Warfare 2: Easily one of the top notch FPS of the modern day. I've already got a deposit laid down for this when it is released on 10th Nov! Looking forward to the Co-op campaign mode for this one but I doubt I'll be forking out for the limited edition Night Vision Goggles though  :lol

I'll stick with those 3 for now...anyone else wanna show what they're looking forward to? The floor's open ;)

Overlord II-I'm renting it right now and in spite of a few difficulties it's pretty fun and I'll probably need to buy it anyway if my brother doesn't let me play it.  :anger

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky-I've already completed Explorers of Darkness and it was great, so I'm going to grab the extended content one for extended content and replay value.

Other than that, I think I have everything I want.

I'm with Drake, I'd love to get a hold of Explorer's of the Sky. Explorers of Darkness was one of my favorite games!

As far as older games go, I've been meaning to grab Psychonauts and Super Mario Sunshine for ages!
Not to mention the Call of Duty series...

Though I guess I should work on completing Ecco, Pikmin 2, Starfox Assault(not the best game, but still :smile ) and the first three Metal Gear Solid games before I go on about buying more titles :oops

Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow- I'm a HUGE fan of the the Castlevania series and the latest game looks amazing despite having nothing to do with the previous games( the Belmonts and Dracula are going to be excluded) but hey they are even using some gameplay elements from Shadow Of The Colossus.

Silent Hill Shattered Memories - The Silent Hill games always scared the crap out of me way more then the RE games did and SH Shattered Memories will be no different although it drops the combat system in favor of evasion its for the best as it will make for some chilling scares and obviously SH:SM is a reimagining of the original Silent Hill.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep - I swear this looks like a worthy prequal to the Kingdom Hearts series.

I also would like to grab that new Kingdom Hearts game for the DS.

I'm guilty of not completing things yet either. I still need to complete Sonic Unleashed, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and a couple of DS games.

Here's a few more from me:

Metroid: Other M - new style to an old classic!
Final Fantasy XIII - it's Final Fantasy...each one is a great as the previous
Borderlands - co-op mode looks excellent plus the RPG aspects to a FPS sound cool
Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles - Resi fanboy...need I say more?
New Super Mario Bros WII - New Mario instalment is always good
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - IT'S GOT YOSHI IN IT!!! YAY! :smile
God of War 3 - bloody, brutal and angry. And fun all the same!

Flippin' heck, if I actually land all these titles, my bank account is gonna be drier than a drought season in the Sahara  :DD

I have a feeling this one will suck me in as well :lol

New Super Mario Bros WII, SMG2 & Metroid: Other M Trailers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B49ILMDC3Dc)

They all look rather goooood! ;)

Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles- As much as I like Silent Hill, I also enjoy the Resident Evil games and this 2nd rail shooter looks great.

The Last Guardian- its Team ICO's third game and it looks just as great as their previous two(ICO and Shadow Of The Colossus) the game seems to ethier take place between the two previous games or before them as the main character isn't a boy with horns or a warrior trying to bring back his beloved.

Metroid: Other M: one thing is certain: Samus is awesome, and this new game proves it, Other M's gameplay is a 3D sidescroller, more like the classic games like Super Metroid.

Final Fantasy XIII- finally we get the next great Final Fantasy game after Dissida(the game really was a spin off, but a great one.)  featuring a female protagonist named Lightning the game is sure to be a hit.

I've already played Batman: Arkham Asylum (it rocked my face), so I'm now eagerly awaiting two MMOs. Yes, as much as I hate the genre for its ever-persistent ability to waste entire lives, the two I await, Star Wars: The Old Republic and Star Trek Online, seem to be something unusual for an MMO: interesting.

Star Wars Battlefront Elite Squadron- it looks so great for a SW Battlefront game on the PSP.

and let's not forget Kingdom Hearts 352/2 days- my sister dosen't like it when I watch her play DS games over her shoulder but she must get used to it since we're both big Kingdom Hearts fans and she's the only one with the Nintendo DS  :lol

Here come mine:

Modern Warfare 2 - Easily going to be a great FPS

Halo 3 ODST - No Halo collection is complete without all the games

Tekken 6 - I love fighters

Resident Evil Dark Chronicles - It's a Resident Evil game, so obviously I will want it

And here comes my most wanted game:

Golden Sun DS - I was so depressed when rumors were spreading that there was not going to be a third Golden Sun game, but when I found out that there will be in fact one for the DS I was like "**** yeah!"

I'm excited for it, just not AS excited as for the games on my list. Also I haven't played the first one besides the demo so I wouldn't have any idea what is happening in the 2nd one.

I'm also excited for Star Wars Old Republic. As long as it is not an expensive price or even free, I will definitely be getting it.

My next big title (first one of the new year) is Planitum Games' Bayonetta. Basically, think Devil May Cry but with a female protagonist and witchcraft. It's super fast, super stylish and rather torturous in some places. A bold step trying to follow up a title like DMC but it looks like they've done a good job. I mean, the girl's got a flippin' machine gun pistol built INTO her stillettos! :DD It comes out over here this coming Friday. ;)

Dark Void? It doesn't sound familir, so I wouldn't know myself.  However, the name sounds intruiging, so I may look into it.

But yeah, not many games that do catch my eye this coming year, save for what I've just mentioned really.

I have to say, I am getting rather intruiged by the new Aliens vs Predator game that's coming out on the PS3 and Xbox 360.  So I may very well play that as well.

At this point, I'm only asking for a couple games for Christmas:

Rock Band 3: I am so excited for this game. I love the franchise and have downloaded a ridiculous amount of songs. Pro Mode is going to be the most insane gameplay ever, actually recreating the experience of playing the guitar for real, because you actually can play using a real guitar.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood: I've never really played AC 1 or 2, but I've watched them and they look awesome. This one however pulled me in because of the multiplayer. It sounds absolutely amazing and intense. All my friends already have it preordered, so if I can't get it the same, I'm definitely getting it for Christmas

Golden Sun Dark Dawn: Thank god this did not turn out just to be another rumor. If read about this game and from what I've read this game is going to be awesome. Finally, we are going to get the game we've been asking for for years. This game is why I kept my old DS around.

Any other games that I plan on getting include:

Mortal Kombat (2011): I've been a fan ever since the beginning, and I am so happy with how this game looks. I'm sorry, but MK VS DC was a major disappointment, but this new game looks like its coming back to its roots. The characters look awesome, the fighting will be back to its original 2D plane with a 3D look, and the gore and fatalities we love are back and better than ever.

Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds: As you can see, I'm a huge fighter fan, and this game just looks crazy. The graphics look great, going for a bit more of a comic book feel, the new characters are sweet, and the game just looks fast paced like it should be. This will easily be the hardest fighter around, but I can't wait.

The new Devil May Cry? After the terribleness of what was Devil May Cry 4 for the Xbox 360, I can only say this about the next one.....it is going to be just as terrible, if not worse off.

If it is true though, I would not mind the Mortal Kombat Classics Remake thing that some retailers are apparantly listing in their prices, granted, not much is known on what games it would include, but I am guessing that it's going to be Aramgeddon, Shaolin Monks, Deceptions and the likes from the PS2.

Although, I'm still wanting a Kingdom Hearts collection for the PS3 one way or another, I mean, I still have my PS2 and am playing Kingdom Hearts 2 at the moment, since my PS3 can't play PS2 games >.<

I could so imagine some of the trophies on there, like "Treasure Hunter - Open up all treasure chests - Bronze trophy" "Hades Paradox Cup Champion - Win the Hades Paradox Cup - Gold Trophy" etc, etc. Although, I would stil need to get both trophies as it is since I am missing a few chests in Twilight Town somewhere :p

But I would say, top of my list right now is the Sly Cooper Collection with the Team ICO Collection second and Alice: Madness Returns coming in 3rd.

Yes and no, it's a sequel to American McGee's Alice game for the PC, one I have not been able to play myself, but have seen clips of it and it looks rather awesome as it is.

And that game is indeed, based loosely on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

The main ones I'm looking forward to this year are Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3 (if only for what I've seen of its Spec Ops modes), Skyrim, and (likely the most anticipated of my list) Assault Horizon. Wallet's not going to be happy this winter, I think...

With the drought of summer finally over for games, it came a bit of at a bad time for me.  Coz it was around about that time I took the arduous decision to fly the parents' nest and venture out on my own. Hitherto I now have to spend what little tuppence I can muster to go on minor factors of life such as keeping a roof over my head, keeping it warm and not starving.  :p  :DD Therefore, my ability to snap up big games on release day has somewhat faded into the ether. In light of this, my wishlist has now expanded quite greatly to include the following (in no particular order):

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Modern Warfare 3
Elder Scroll V: Skyrim
Zelda: Skyward Sword
Xenoblade Chronicles
Batman: Arkham City (I know my "Now Playing" status says I'm on that currently but it's not mine)
RE: Operation Raccoon City
Sonic Generations
Mass Effect 3

I'm pretty sure there are others but just typing out this list is both sad (in all respects :lol) and depressing. On the flip side, I guess it gives me something to aim  and save up for and by the time I can actually land them, they'll have dropped in price anyway. Suppose that's a silver lining!  :D

Ooh I want to play Sonic Generations. It looks so fun, and given how pessimistic the Sonic fan community can be at times, the sheer number of good reviews I've seen is pretty cool.

And also Star Wars: KOTOR I/II. I passed them up when I saw them being sold in a pack together at the store a few months ago, because I'd heard someone say they were online games like the new The Old Republic... kind of kicking myself about that now, because a friend of mine pointed out that they aren't.  :slap  Oh well, that's what Amazon's for, right??

I've already pre-ordered Halo 4 so...

But I think I just might pre-order Black Ops 2. The trolls on the Internet can say that it's all the same thing. WRONG! While the Modern Warfare series barely goes through any changes, the Treyarch CoD games are always changing things up. In the past several years they went from World War 2 to The Cold War, and now a fictionalized Second Cold War in the year 2025.

Oh, and Far Cry 3 looks awesome too.

Can't wait for Xenoblade Chronicles X. The idea of being forced to leave earth, and helping humans rebuild, and try to survive on a new world sounds really interesting to me. I'm a little worried with the main character, which is customizable to whoever you want. The last game had a great story, and I hope this one can keep that up, even despite having a character you make yourself.

Less so a specific game and more so hardware for my PC, specifically a better GPU than the one I currently have. There are a lot of games that have gotten my attention which as of now I meet the minimum specs for, but the one contributing factor to me not meeting the recommended specs is that my GPU is severely outdated compared to what's available on the market right now. Needless to say I'm very adamant this time with trying to get my PC upgraded at long last so I can begin to have an increased interest in Steam once again.

Also, as for a specific game? Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX for Steam which I'll also probably get the Switch version later down the road as well. I already know Metroid Dread will be something I will work on getting a hold of later as well, but so far my biggest priority above all others is the aforementioned GPU upgrade.

The list would be big to list, but I’m trying to get my hand on various games on 3DS and Wii U eShops before they close down.

It’s mostly Virtual Console and DSiWare on the list, but I’m also trying to get eShop exclusive games such as Dr. Luigi.  This also includes DLC, which is the StreetPass Mii Plaza DLC and more.

And I've been wanting to get into Kirby for a while, so I wanna pick up Kirby and the Forgotten Land as well. Looks super fun :smile

I want Splatoon 3 as well. Looking back I'm pretty blown away by how dark Splatoon 2 was :GuidoAAAAAHHHHHH Especially the Octo Expansion. I'm already excited to see where the plot for Splatoon 3 will go. And I'm super hype to see the new idols :yum

It's been over three years since the last major Lego video game came out, but now the day has finally arrived. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga officially released today. But as much as I would love to try playing it, I typically refuse to pay full price for a video game, and I'm a little preoccupied with other hobbies lately, so I'm not really in a hurry to get this game. At the earliest, I'll probably get it during the annual sale on Steam after Christmas.

I already know Metroid Dread will be something I will work on getting a hold of later as well, but so far my biggest priority above all others is the aforementioned GPU upgrade.

Over a year later, about time for a status update. Let's start with the big one.

I got my GPU upgraded. However, that was about all that was changed with my PC because it was the cheapest option available without having to modify just about everything else with the hardware. However, because most of the games I already had simply needed a better GPU for me to run? This doesn't hurt as much as you'd think, and it's overall a good improvement.

I also got Monster Rancher DX on Steam, but I haven't played it yet.

I hadn't gotten Metroid Dread yet, sadly, but I'm actually pleasantly surprised of the post-release Free DLC the game wound up addressing a lot of issues I myself either saw as potential problems or other people had been wanting from the game to be addressed somehow. I actually like the fact Metroid Dread wound up breathing new life into the franchise, especially with how Nintendo just shadow dropped a remaster of Metroid Prime roughly a week or so ago from today.

EA Sport's PGA Tour is on my wishlist now. I really enjoyed the old Tiger Woods PGA Tour games on the GameCube and I'm looking forward to play a brand new version of those games. I did play 2K's golf games (The Golf Club 2019 feat. PGA Tour and PGA Tour 2K21), but they really seemed lifeless without funny character animations and good commentary...

I'll wait for a sale though. It's already 40% off despite launching a month ago. I'll probably get it at the end of the year if the price is right.

A new Lego game (LEGO 2K Drive) just released yesterday, which I obviously now have at the top of my wishlist. However, due how immensely expensive it is, I'll probably find myself waiting for at least a few years to see if the price will ever come down to something a little more reasonable (especially during a sale).

LEGO 2K Drive is still on top of my wishlist, but after seeing what its reduced price has been during several sales over the past year, I now have a good idea what will likely be my best opportunities to get the full content at a price I can be okay with. I have decided that while I still won't purchase it just yet, I think during Steam's summer sale in June or July will likely be when I'll finally buy that game.

However, I did get myself a couple of classic games that just recently became available on Steam. In fact, a whole bunch of classic EA games not only just became available on Steam last week, but also all of them are currently on sale for at least half off until next Thursday (here's the sale page, if you're interested to see what's available: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/36135791/sale/Classic-Games-Sale (https://store.steampowered.com/curator/36135791/sale/Classic-Games-Sale)). The two games I just bought earlier today are Sim City 3000 (which was among the several various games I had fondly played a lot over twenty years ago) and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (a game that I'm sure I would've be interested in playing back then if only I knew it even existed, but at least now I'll finally have the opportunity to try it, once I can set aside enough time for it).
