Yeah I'm sure most of you of my huge speech on the network54 forum...I had to do it. We need to bond together if we're going to make it as a forum of LBT fans. ;)
http://www.network54.com/Forum/message?for...geid=1098917329 (http://www.network54.com/Forum/message?forumid=26773&messageid=1098917329)
There's my speech. B) I felt like a spammer doing that but I don't think either forum can survive much longer so long as members decide to stay in separate places. :( The really successful forums of classic movies have only one spot for congregation...it should be the same for us.
-
I prefer this one as a question of graphics and design.. but it's hard for the people that like that one to just move here..

There's no competition there. ;) It is egronomically much more suitable for larger topics. ;)
it's hard for the people that like that one to just move here..
No, it isn't easy....we don't plan to permanently shut down the network54 forum, but the larger topics really should come over here because that setup doesn't support really big topics. ;)
-
Yup.. that would do great for the gang of five.. with more people it would become more popular
-
I'm working on that. ;) We'll eventually get more people. I mean if you think about it, we've had more join in the past week than we've had in the past year. ;)
-
You're exaggerating ;) Last year we still had the old gang of five and there were several people comming and going. I wonder why "Chomper" disappeared who first introduced the LBT trivia game to the gang of five.
-
I may be alone in this, but I actually prefer the old 54 forum.
-
I do not exactly favor one over the other. By practical means the Gang of Five is certainly better, but I feel very much attached to the network54 forum, where I got to know other LBT fans for the first time, and where I've been posting for more than four years. Nevertheless I consider it a failure to post only at one favorite forum and I definitely think that it would be a benefit for land before time fans if they didn't stick so much to one forum that it meant totally ignoring the others and thus splintering the land before time fan community into several blocks.
-
I might have been exaggerating but do you realize how long we've gone without new members? Also we've had some that came for a few posts and left...that Chomper was one of them. So we have been very much without new faces for a long time.

I couldn't agree more with that. :) However, I think so long as more than one exists, there will be blocks because some people, like me can't visit each place every day because I have so much going on so I just pick one and if I have time I will get to the others. ;)
-
I don't think that very many land before time forums can be really active for a long time. I think five active forums at the same time was the highest rate ever (at least the highest I remember. However, four of them died away after all. Nevertheless I think that two or maybe even three forums could work out. But right now there are two really active ones, and I don't see a good reason for a third one to be created.
-
^ Some create them just for the heck of it. Most of those never take off like the creator wishes.
-
Just my take on it, but nothing here makes you look like a spammer, Anven.
-
I don't support spammers. I've seen my share of them, and I'm clearly not a spammer.
-
I hate spammers, too. What satisfaction do they get? They don't even get to see the annoyance they cause first hand, for Pete's sake!
-
Pete's sake? Are you refering to that guy who used to spam and cause trouble at the network54 forum a long while ago?
-
Never had any problems with Network54 before about spam. Could it be a one off?
-Threehorn
-
"For Pete's sake!" is a phrase like "Geez, why did you do that?" ;) It has the same meaning.
The reason we see no SPAM is because Malte removes it on network54.
-
That cool! to here. Well I hate spam really hate it
-Threehorn
-
Are we talking about that processed meat as well because that's pretty disgusting too. :P
-
Very funny... I don't find it funny *snorts*
-Threehorn (I do really find it funny) ;)
-
I don't really get the turn of thought on processed meat. What is that about?
Spamming is fortunately no big problem at the LBT forums these days. I believe since I got the power to remove spam in the network54 forum there was only one single spam I had to delete. A longer while ago there was somebody advertising for porno movies all the time, but fortunately that person quited.
-
There's processed canned meat called SPAM as well. Never tasted it and I don't think I will either.

-
Weird and crazy. Oh can I have a can of Spam? lol
-Threehorn
-
Is my pic of SPike saying newbe because I am the newest to join???
-Threehorn
-
You're Petrie now. :)
No they're member levels...once you hit a set number of posts it will change the more you post around on the board. :)
-
Ah I see now. I knew that
-Threehorn
-
The next one you'll get is Ducky at 200 posts. ;)
-
When do I get Cera on it???
-Threehorn
-
Yeah, and I can I have a picture of Littlefoot on mine at some point? Seriously... :cry
-
I looked it up and saw you need like 1000 posts to get Littlefoot and 500 posts for Cera... that a bit high wouldn;t you say? kind of impossible task...
-Threehorn
-
Certainly isn't impossible. And yes, you read the number correctly. ;)
-
This is going to take a while... lets get posting!!!! :lol
-Threehorn
-
I'd be Cera if I wasn't an admin. :)
-
I could guess that at once.
-Threehorn
-
Well, I've moved here from the Great Valley Forum. I'd been trying to increase activity since Arvens left to create this forum, but no luck :( I decided it was time to move on, since there was no point in posting and waiting for days, if not weeks for a reply.
Nick
-
Actually I left ezboard altogether because I couldn't afford their prices after they decided to stop the free gold program. ;)
The little text ads here don't get in the way and plus it's free. :D Very hard to pass up.
-
We had tried to get other people to the Great Valley board Nick, but despite of repeated invitations nobody came. Maybe it really was time to move on. Within the view days you are here you've posted already more than half as much as you did in all the time at the Great Valley board. This may be encouraging.
But really I would be glad if you didn't delete the Great Valley board altogether as you suggested in the network54 forum. Let it just rest, so we may reread interesting messages from there some day. Perhaps a link to the Gang of Five could be established there, so people who find the Great Valley board will find the Gang of Five.
-
Surprisingly the old Gang of Five (on ezboard) is how I think most people actually find this place. I did both a google and a yahoo search for "Land Before Time XI" and near the top was our old board at our old host. ;)
