I think you're right that the change of the title of LBT11 has historical reasons
@dosu2dinner I have them in German only, but I can translate them for you...or maybe someone else can do...haven't them in mind,unfortunatily

I had this phase,too, but I never called LBT "babyish" I just didn't watch LBT a few years^^

I watched all LBT movies the last time and I noticed that some of them has a difference in meaning in their titles, so I'd like to...
a) discuss about posseble reasons with you all and
b) know how the movies are called in other languages(and discuss about the titles of them )
so I'll post the German titles(plus translation )I hope I'm not the only one
The original was perfektly translated
nr2: In German there are two titles: "Das vergessene Tal"(the forgotten valley)and "Das Abenteuer im Grossen Tal"(which is the translation of the englisch title "The Great Valley Adventure"(I personally grew up with the changed title))
nr3: another well translated title "Die Zeit der grossen Gabe" (The time of the great giving)
nr4: "Im Tal des Nebels"(through the mists) here the meaning is different.They let out the "journey" which changes the meaning,right?
nr5: well translated,too "Die geheimnisvolle Insel"(the mysterious island)
nr6: well translated,too "Der geheimnisvolle Berg der Saurier"(the secret of Saurus Rock)
nr7: well translated,too "Der geheimnisvolle Zauberstein"(the stone of cold fire)
nr8: "Der erste Schnee"(the first snow) here is the meaning a bit different(but in nr8 it's not a big difference between "freeze" and "snow" is it?)
nr9: well translated,too "Die Reise zum grossen Wasser"(journey to big water)
nr10: "Die Grosse Reise"(the great journey) in this movie they used a complety deviating title(why didn't they called it " Die grosse Langhals Migration"(the big Longneck migration) )
nr11: "Das Geheimnis der kleinen Saurier"(the secret of Tinysauruses) here again a deviating title,but in this movie the english title sound a bit...well,I dunno... "invasion"... sounds more like there would be tiny creatures attacking the dinos of the Great Valley Maybe the German one is better, hmm...tell me what you think about this
nr12: "Die grosse Flugschau"(the great flight/air show) well,the meaning doesn't change much,but...they should use the english title(the great day of the flyers) imo because it's the name of the event that the movie is about
nr13: "Die Suche nach dem Beerental"(the search for the valley of berries) omg the German title has nothing to do with the english one!!! I dunno which title is better so tell me your opinion

Another good exampel for Topsy's speciesism is in sequel five,where they are searching for a place to stay until the Great Valley is green again. The dinos from the Great Valley saw a skeleton of a dino from Duckies species and Topsy said( I dunno if it's all correct what I say now because I'm from Germany and I never saw LBT in English,unfortunality :S ) you all knew how stupid these creatures are. Duckies mother was very angry with him and the whole group starts to have an argument... and so on ...you all know what happens next

Cera,Ducky and Petrie only have one parent and Spike and Littlefoot have no parents(although Bron appears in sequel 10 and his mother died),so I guess the makers of LBT didn't want to create a great number of characters. The parents who were created are enough for them imo ... That may be a reason, why Petrie hasn't a father!

I think they speak the language of the flattooth because everyone should understand them,I mean...they talk a lot so it would be kind of weird,if they are talking sharpteeth language the whole time...there must be a lot of subtitles in this case ! Besides the song of them(I guess it's who needs you) wouldn't exist either BTW: is there someone,who wants to hear the song in sharpteeth language? That would be funny I presume

hello,I am Ducky123 and I am new here.I am from Germany and 16 years old.I liked LBT since I watched the original movie at the age of 5 or 6 I guess . My first sequel was the 8th one and still my fav . I have all the sequels,but I haven't seen the series,yet. BTW: My dvd of the 6th sequel died 
. As you can already guess my fav character is Ducky,but I like all the members of the Gang .My hobbies are playing the piano and I do athletics.I like to read and to play videogames .Unfortunately I can't draw,but I'll try to write fanfictions of LBT.I hope to be better in writing than in drawing ^^.
I like The Land Before Time because the story is interesting for kids and adult(and for teens like me,too )and I like the drawings of Don Bluth .Especially the music of LBT is pretty great!If we hold on together from the original is such a nice song and most of the songs Littlefoot,Cera,Petrie,Ducky and Spike(yes,Spike sings on his own way ) and some others are singing are great,too.
Well,I think thats enough,if you want to know more about me,just ask
