Post by: LBTFan13 on November 03, 2009, 01:27:36 PM: I've loved playing video games ever since I was maybe 7. I'm definitely a hardcore gamer, but I limit the amount of time I spend on gaming so I can concentrate on other things.

I'd probably label myself as a hardcore fighting and shooting gamer. They are my two favorite genres.

Post by: Littlefoot on November 03, 2009, 09:42:13 PM: I am back in business very slow couse now I have to be carefull more than ever not to passtoo much time in front of a pc or tv, I am a hardcore gamer (was my contition limit me a lot now) still I play a lot of games on emulators my old consoles and now in my iphone. I love retro games and also arcade games XD I lovve everykind of game good bad or bored.

Video game testing isn't as fun as it sounds. You'll never want to play another game... ever again.

Because at the time I didn't have the skills to create a video game, I would make my own ideas for video games. I had so many different ideas it was crazy. I remember when I was about 7, I came up with the idea for a Mario Kart game but with the Land Before Time characters. I don't know how I came up with it, I just did.

I will sit down and play light games that are easy and quick to beat, but I'll also play difficult games, but I also like older games and have been stacking up on rereleases of them like crazy, and I also like lots of games made in Japan, like Super Mario Bros and Final Fantasy.

Post by: landbeforetimelover on November 05, 2009, 09:18:56 PM: I don't play games often, but when I do, I usually go for the old one's. Super Nintendo was and IS the GREATEST! I don't care that there's like 256 colors and a 12mhz processor in the console. :p Donkey Kong 3 was sooooooooo great! Super Mario was pretty good too, but I never really beat Bowser. The game I have doesn't save when you turn off the console. There's something wrong with it. Because of this, I can never get to the final level. It's still fun though.

N64 was like meh......not so great. All consoles newer than N64 just aren't worth my time. I do have an XBOX, but the only thing I play on it is Fable and I don't play it often (maybe twice a year). I have emulators of all the Pokemon GB games and I like to play those. Other than that, I don't game.

There's a shortcut you can take to Bowser plus a secret area somewhere in the game that lets you collect as many extra lives as you want (although you have to keep visiting this stage over and over again since you can only get one extra life at a time).

Agreed. My wii is chock full of SNES and NES games (and a few Genesis games). Who needs super duper graphics anyways?

Now that I think about it... I'm a bit of all the options. I can be a casual, laid back gamer... like when I'm playing Guitar Hero or something similar. I love old school games, and when I feel like it I can go hardcore and play a full night of games. Heck, not long ago me and a few buddies played Borderlands all night... booyah!

I sometimes enjoy retro games, like Super Metroid and Super Mario World, as well as simple casual games, liike Bejeweled and Tetris. I play some strategy games, particularly Digimon Digital Card Battle and Portal, and some more complicated games, like Metroid Prime and Half-Life 2. I don't really care if the game is 2D or 3D. I'm not really picky on those details, nor am I picky on what home console the game is on. Only time I may have a problem is if the game is on a console I don't own (I don't own X-Box 360 yet although I have the Wii and Playstation 3), if it needs a powerful computer to run (although this computer has better specs than the previous one I've used, it has a weak Intel graphics chip), or if it's on a handheld. I don't own one myself, but my brother does. I don't like playing on handhelds because I find it hard to see the screen. I was trying to play one of those Digimon Battle Spirit games on Gameboy Advance I believe and I was having a hard time seeing my character, the ground, anything, due to light glare on the screen.

I play games for the challenege, I don't cheat and I always look to clear a game as close to 100% as I can. I'm a huge fan of co-op player games whereby 2 (or more) human players team up against bots or in a co-op campaign so games like Resident Evil 5 are right up my street. I play competitively sometimes e.g COD4, Killzone 2 etc. but I prefer to work together with someone than against them. Even in competitive modes, I always pick team deathmatches rather than solo matches.

I have to say I also mix with the retro category coz I love old school games like Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong Country etc. My Wii is stocked full of classic old school games! Almost got an SD card full of just games! I still also play my old consoles and relive the golden days of gaming :D They made modern gaming what it is today.
