It is unlikely that Islamists will take over, given that this uprising represents all segments of society, but that is another topic.

As for Sudan, we are seeing the birth of a new, hopefully free, country. The sooner they build a new pipeline, the better, even if it takes years to do.

Thank goodness. The Christian Africans are finally being freed from the tyrannical, genocidal Arab Muslims in the north, and they're taking most of Sudan's oil to boot! Hopefully, this will spell the end of the crazed regime in Khartoum, and with any luck, might lead to other Africans, such as those in Darfur, being freed as well.

The Fridge / The future of meat
« on: February 01, 2011, 04:32:19 AM »
Quote from: oogaboo,Jan 31 2011 on  08:54 AM
In the beginning, Humans were herbivores. We ate veggies, fruit, and beans for protein. After the flood, we started eating meat as an alternative for food. Meat isn't a major factor. Its natural to grow meat because from what I read the cells of a pig skin can regenerate certain skin tissues on the human body. But it depends since certain peoples body might reject it. They even use skin from other animals for plastic surgery.
We are sentient, but not powerful unless most of us have a weapon in our arsenal. So I'm supporting this.
Human never were herbivores. Not for a second. Look at our teeth; they are clearly adopted for eating animal and plant matter. Now, whether we became more carnivorous over time is debatable, but certainly possible.

That's quite literally unnatural. From a biological perspective, human beings are omnivores, and our demand for meat is a major factor in the population of literally billions of other animals. Something that would disrupt the balance, such as growing meat as if it were a plant, could have dire consequences. Also, there is a reason meat doesn't just grow in nature, as if it were grass. As for slaughtering animals... well... predation is as much a part of nature as eating grass is for herbivores. We just happen to be sentient, powerful, and able to literally herd our lambs to the slaughter.

Yikes. Too long since an update. That changes now. Here's a pic of a fan-character. This is Elana, Pterano's mate in a story I have yet to write.

Very cool. I'd like to save the drama for the RP, not the forum.
