Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on August 20, 2009, 08:25:09 AM
I decided to be a part of this new trend and start up my own "Ask Me" topic.

Being the Bionicle fan of this forum, feel free to ask me any questions about it that other members might not know. Also, I've had a huge interest in astronomy for most of my life, so feel free to ask me any questions related to that too. As for other questions, feel free to ask me, but don't expect me to answer every single one of them.

Are you still working on that Bionicle/LBT crossover fanfic of yours? (The last time I remember you talking about it, you said you were editing it.) If so, how's it going? Can we expect to see any new chapters any time soon?

Yes, I'm still editing it. Now that I'm not doing much these days, I'm actually surprised at how quickly I'm getting them done. I only have ten chapters left to go. (going to work on chapter 34 today)

At this rate, I'm expecting to finally get back to adding new chapters by the end of September.

To tell you the truth, I'm not exactly sure. I guess one factor is that, as a kid, I always enjoyed playing with Lego bricks, and Bionicle is a Lego product, so that shouldn't be so surprising. For collecting Bionicle sets, I guess I'm just one of those guys who wants to "collect them all", and I mean all. Also, I wasn't really into the story until the end of 2003, but since then I've always followed the story, getting every book, every comic, and every movie. The online games were also fun to play.

^I remember playing Bionicle with my guy friends back in third grade. Bionicles are fun to play with, from what I can remember. ^^

What is your favorite LBT character?

For a while it was Littlefoot, but ever since Ruby first appeared in the TV series, I must say that I really like her. In fact, I've only just recently admitted to myself that Ruby is my favorite LBT character.
(I'm not sexist, but usually my favorite characters are male. That should give you an idea of how significant this is for me.)

That's great! I love hearing that people like Ruby, cause I've always found that she's not as appreciated as I like.

You're easily the most loyal user to the Geography Game. Why did that game appeal to you so much?

I guess it's just something I'm good at, that's all. I've been reading maps since I was about 6, so yeah, it's not surprising how good I am at geography.

What other types of Lego do you like besides Bionicle?
Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler

These days, there actually isn't any other kind of Lego or Lego product that I particularly like. Before Bionicle came along, I liked the classic Lego bricks and minifigures, and I think I also liked the Lego product Technic. But that was then. These days, nothing seems to catch my attention like Bionicle does.

How exactly do you pronounce Bionicle? I'd always thought it rhymed with "chronicle" but my friends (who are bigger fans than me) say it's "By-o-nickel" with a strong emphasis on both i's.

Your friends are wrong. Your pronunciation is more accurate. As a little piece of trivia, I'll tell you that, contrary to some popular beliefs, the word "Bionicle" is actually a combination of the words biological chronicle.

Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on September 17, 2009, 12:15:04 PM
Caustizer: I've seen the first three Bionicle movies, but I can't say anything about the latest one, The Legend Reborn, since I haven't seen it yet. The first one, Bionicle: Mask of Light, was my favorite of those first three movies. It featured some of my favorite characters and, being the first Boinicle movie, featured them in a way never seen before (like Takua as you can see in my avatar). The other two, Bionicle 2: Legends of Metru Nui, Bionicle 3: Web of Shadows, were also good, but they weren't great.

jedi472: Here's a list of the years of the Bionicle story in order from my most favorite to my least favorite:

2001 (Arrival of the Toa): What can I say, the first year was simply the best. It was great learning about what life was like in the villages of Mata Nui and who all the major characters were. I also enjoyed playing the Mata Nui Online Game (which I currently have downloaded onto my computer).

2009 (Bara Magna): Like 2001, this year offered a whole new beginning to the story. Also, I'm expecting the movie for this year to be great.

2006 (Voya Nui): The villains of this year, the Piraka, were some of the greatest (not to mention the most spoofed). Also, seeing some favorite Matoran turn into Toa, the Toa Inika, was another great part. Also, my favorite Bionicle game, Bionicle Heroes, was released in this year.

2003 (Mask of Light): The main reason this year is so high on this list is because this was the year in which the first Bionicle movie, Mask of Light, was released.

2008: (Karda Nui and the Final Battle): The climax is often a great part of the story, and Bionicle is no different. What made this year so great was it's shocking ending (I honestly didn't see it coming).

2007 (Mahri Nui): This year feature the Toa Mahri, who had been the Toa Inika before being transformed by the Mask of Life. This year also had a shocking ending I didn't see coming. However, as the Bionicle writer had said, it was "mild compared to" how 2008 ended.

2002 (Bohrok and Bohrok-Kal): Aside from seeing some favorite characters, there wasn't much in this year that was so interesting.

2004 (Metru Nui): I don't know why I put this year so low on this list. It seemed interesting to learn what life was like in the different parts of the city and there was a new group of Toa. I think what made me not like this year so much was because, since it takes place before the previous years, it was obvious that the Toa Metru would succeed in their mission.

2005 (Web of Shadows): Why is this my least favorite of all the years of Bionicle? For the same reasons 2004 is so low on this list. Plus, I felt that the lack of Matoran for any role at all in this year was another negative. Also, the Toa Hordika, who were transformed from the Toa Metru, actually didn't seem that great in my opinion, for some reason.

Let's see...

Cement Mix-Up (not only the awesome explosion, but also their reactions to seeing the cement truck half-filled with concrete)
Border Slingshot (I couldn't stop laughing at seeing Adam bounce the bowling ball like a basketball, then break a small chunk off of it :lol )
Buster Special (great to see all the pounding Buster has been put through :lol )
Mentos + Soda (the dry ice bomb was awesome)
Confederate Rocket (they seriously underestimated the power of that rocket, the fireball caused some cameras and even Adam's hovercraft to catch on fire :lol )
Hindenburg Mystery (big fire, especially from the mega-dope paint)
Supersize Special (seeing that bus get thrown back by the jet engines was awesome)
Moon Landing Hoax
Viral Myths (funny seeing a heavier-than-air gas create the opposite effect of helium when inhaled :lol )
YouTube Special (that giant Lego ball was awesome)
Demolition Derby Special
Duct Tape Hour

Those are pretty much my most favorites.

Which fandom did you get into first: LBT or Bionicle? :p
Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on December 16, 2009, 09:36:21 PM
Considering that fact that LBT is intended for little kids, along with the fact that LBT had been around over a decade before Bionicle, I don't think it should be so surprising that my first fandom was LBT. I lost interest between the 8th and 9th movies, which would be around 2001 or 2002.

Although I've been collecting Bionicle sets since the first ones in 2001, I wasn't actually interested in the story until late 2003. Since then, Bionicle has always been my biggest fandom.

I think I got back into LBT around early 2007 or perhaps even late 2006. Hard to remember exactly.

How did you become acquainted with MythBusters?
Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on December 24, 2009, 04:31:13 PM
Let's see... I think the original reason I started watching Mythbusters was because I wanted to watch something on the Discovery Channel on a weekly basis that I would be interested in. There were some one-time programs (one, two, or even three hours long) that I liked, but if I wanted to know when the next such program would be on, I would have to see a commercial for that program, which would very likely be seen only on that channel. To improve the chances of that happening, I decided that I would have to watch something on that channel at least once a week. I can't remember why I chose Mythbusters specifically, but once I started watching it every week, I always enjoyed watching it. These day, thanks to the TV schedule on the internet, the original reason isn't there anymore, but I still like watching that show.

I've just recently began applying to a few nearby colleges (something I should have been doing over a year ago). I'm hoping to study aerospace engineering, but there aren't many colleges up here in or near Vermont that offer such a major. :neutral

Also, I'm hoping to have my fanfic finished by no later than the end of June this year.

Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler

Since many of my sets are organized in groups of six, it shouldn't be too hard to count them all. Let's see...*starts counting the sets on the shelves*

178 :wow

Since the Bionicle sets (not the story) are going to be discontinued (for the foreseeable future) this year, that means I only have six more sets left to collect, so that should eventually bring my total to 184 different Bionicle sets. :wow

(Not surprisingly, I was concerned about running out of shelf space until I heard that the Bionicle sets would be discontinued.)

Besides those three, the only one I can think of would be Total Drama Island. (There's a topic here on GoF about the latest season: http://z7.invisionfree.com/thegangoffive/i...?showtopic=6822 (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=6574)) A main reason why I would consider myself a fan of this show is because I check it's section on fanfiction.net every day. (At the rate new or updated fanfics are posted, I usually look through two pages for all the updates of a single day.) While I consider most of them pathetic and not worth my time, there are a few good ones out there. (and very long). As for the show itself, I always watch every new episode with my sister. (she says Canadians make the best cartoons)

I just remembered that I had another fandom: Ed, Edd, n' Eddy. Before I first became interested in Bionicle in late 2003, this was my biggest fandom (I had (temporarily) lost my interest in LBT after the 8th movie, which would have been late 2001). I was such a big fan that I often recorded episodes on a video cassette. This allowed me to frequently pause the tape so I could draw comics based on some favorite episodes of mine. I never got far on any of them. I'm afraid I can't show you those comics because I thew them all out years ago, which I now really regret. Anyway, my current interest in this cartoon is far less than it was back then, so although I will instantly recognize it when I see or hear it, I won't go so far as to ignore anything else.

Sorry for taking so long to answer, I forgot about this topic.

After 7 weeks of college, I can definitely say that I despise having to live on campus, particularly all of the noise on my floor. People throwing things in the hallway, playing loud music that I would never even accept, I hate them so much that I almost never leave my room (Just so you know, I don't have a roommate because I had requested a single room, a decision that I'm so glad I made). All that noise bothers me so much that I've been forced to wear earplugs every night, just so I can get some sleep.

I am so glad that I have this week off.

To be honest with you, I can't think of a definite answer to that question. I have a hard time picking a particular favorite moment, especially since the earlier chapters were written so long ago that I'm sure I've forgotten a few things.

Sorry for taking so long to answer. I've been so busy with other things that I forgot.

I guess you could say it's more like my mother and sister are the ones who own the pets in this house. If the choice was mine (which it clearly isn't) we wouldn't have any pets. I'm just not that kind of person. At least I'm glad they prefer cats instead of dogs. (I've had a phobia of dogs all my life.)

Among the pets we used to have were two gerbils, two mice, a parakeet, some goldfish, and a cat that was two years older than me but passed away at the age of 20. We currently have two cats. I almost never interact with those two cats, but I have managed to convince one of them to be scared of me. (Whenever I walk into the room, that cat often tries to get away or out of the way.)

Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler

brekclub85: My home. That's it. I often don't like leaving my own house (or dorm room, if I'm at college), so I don't really have any places that I like to hang out at, nor do I have anyone to hang out with, and I prefer it that way.

Pangaea: I noticed that you hadn't mentioned it in you review of chapter 7, and I thought for sure it was something you might have found interesting. I thought that by mentioning it the "pre-chapter notes" of chapter 8, I would hopefully remind you of it (I had assumed that you had forgotten to mention your thoughts on it). When you didn't mention it in your review for chapter 8, I decided to pull out all the stops and ask in your "ask me" topic. I was certain that would give me an answer, and it looks like it worked. Sorry if I came across as being impatient and controlling again, but I was convinced that it was something you were sure to talk about, but it looks like I might have been wrong. Oh well.

Do you have any other collections besides Bionicle sets?
Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on March 31, 2011, 10:00:14 PM
My collection of Bionicle sets is definitely my most prized collection of all, but there are a few other collections I've made in my life.

When I was a little kid, I was a big NASCAR fan, so I often made my parents buy me those small toy replicas of those racecars (only a few inches long). I remember frequently playing mock races with those toys, laying colored pencils on the living room rug to mark the walls of the track. I also liked crashing those cars together frequently, like the real crashes I would see in the real races. These days, even though I still have a slight interest in NASCAR, it's nowhere near as great as it was when I was a kid in the late '90s. As for that toy car collection, it's all stored in a large plastic box in my closet. I don't know the final count, but I have a feeling it would be more than a hundred (I happen to have a few repeats).

Another collection I enjoyed while it lasted were those 3d puzzles, which are basically sheets of foam with stickers on them, you assemble the surfaces like a regular puzzle, but then you fit the surfaces together to create a three-dimensional model. The first one I got was Titanic. I got many more, mostly miniatures at barely 100 pieces, but there were a few larger ones at hundreds of pieces. My favorites of all were the series of skyscrapers that were made to scale, including the Empire State Building and the Sears Tower. I've since lost track of many of them, but my favorites, including those skyscrapers, are stored in my closet.

This last one, I'm sure if I should call it a collection since it's basically just getting started. It's a new series of Lego sets called Architecture which is basically recreations of famous buildings out of Lego bricks. The current count of my collection of those sets is at 4, all of them skyscrapers that are at the smallest possible scale to be made out of Lego bricks.

Those are the ones I can remember at the moment. Just to be clear, the only collection I really care about are my Bionicle sets.

Nope, and I'm very glad about that. I despise falling for any pranks, mostly because I don't find anything directed at me as funny unless I am specifically told beforehand that it's for humor. In fact, I am extremely glad that I had the week off when April Fools came this year. Here’s a Bionicle-related question for you:

Where do all the biomechanical creatures (Rahi, Matoran, and otherwise) in the Bionicle universe come from? Or, more specifically, how are their populations maintained? Even with unlimited lifespans, it would seem to me that as long as accidents, natural disasters, Rahi predation, and other such causes of death were taking place, then individuals would be dying without being replaced, with species eventually becoming extinct, unless they had some alternative means of replicating themselves.
Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler

I'll try to answer your question without giving away any spoilers for my fanfic. (Even though I've already mentioned that I won't stop anyone from doing research and finding out about the entire Bionicle storyline on their own.)

Yes, the populations of all the species in the Bionicle universe are maintained, even though virtually none of them reproduce. It has been confirmed that if a Matoran dies, a new one is created to take his/her place. As for how a new Matoran or Rahi is created, that information has never been revealed, and I'm quite sure such details will never be revealed. (I'm guessing it's because, well, let's just say it's awkward enough to explain reproduction to a pre-teen boy.)

When you write a fanfic, do you have the whole plot more or less determined from the start, or do you develop your ideas as you go on?
Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on July 04, 2011, 10:30:36 PM
I pretty much have most of the plot already thought of when I start a fanfic, and fill in the smaller less important stuff when I get close to it.

As a good example, I'm planning a total of six stories for my LBT/Bionicle series (I'm thinking of calling it the "Quest for..." series, since that's what the titles of all of them start with.). At this time, I've already thought of the major plots of not just the one I'm currently working on but also much of the four other fanfics that have yet to be written. In fact, I had been making plans for the second and third fanfics as far back as 2008, a time when I had no idea at all how the second fanfic would end, since it depends on how the Bionicle storyline went (Back then, I had planned to end that fanfic at the end of the 2008 storyline, but now that the Bionicle storyline has ended, I decided to include the later years as well.).

My experience also provides a good example for why it's such a good idea to think of fanfic ideas so far ahead. Back in 2008, my plans for the third fanfic involved the gang becoming Toa, whom I had envisioned having bodies that were more raptor-like than humanoid, since they are dinosaurs. As I thought about it over the years, I realized how absurd and farfetched the idea seemed, so I have since scrapped the idea. My current plans for the third fanfic involve more LBT elements that, in my view, will make it one of the most epic of all the stories there will be in this series.

It's been nearly three years since I last asked you (http://gangoffive.net/index.php?showtopic=6488&view=findpost&p=9147688), so have there been any new favorite MythBusters moments in the new episodes you've seen since then? :smile

After a quick look on Wikipedia to remind me which episodes have aired since you last asked, here are the new additions to my list of favorites:

Duct Tape Hour 2
Waterslide Wipeout (I still laugh uncontrollably at where Adam drops a roll of duct tape which rolls down the slide, off the ramp, and into the water. :lol )
Top 25 Moments (I'm a sucker for Top# countdown episodes. It helps give you a perspective of the entire series.)
Storm Chasing Myths (Always good to see people from other shows on Discovery)
President's Challenge
Valkyrie Boom
What is Bombproof?
Fixing a Flat (Every method was funny in it's own way. :lol )
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Special (a Top 12 countdown)
Newton's Crane Cradle
Excavator Exuberance
Drain Disaster (awesome explosion)
Location, Location, Location (another Top 12 countdown (my favorite of them))
Wet & Wild (yet another Top 12 countdown)
Duct Tape Island
Square Wheels (Arguably one of my absolute favorites. :lol )
Mailbag Special
Jawsome Shark Special (another Top 25 countdown)
Titanic Survival

Those are my favorites of the last three years of Mythbusters.

Nearly all of the television I watch these days is on the Discovery Channel and History Channel, along with the Science Channel (affiliated with Discovery) and H2 (a second History Channel). Many times, it's to watch a single one- or two-hour program with no additional series.

As for actual TV shows; on Discovery, there's obviously "Mythbusters", and I guess "Curiosity" as well (I don't mind watching any kind of science). On the Science Channel, it would definitely be shows that are mostly about space, such as "How the Universe Works", and "Through the Wormhole, with Morgan Freeman". On History and/or H2, my favorite is definitely "The Universe", but there are plenty other shows I also watch. Most notably are those that started off as a single two-hour program, such as "Life After People", and "How the States Got Their Shapes".

Basically, all of my favorite shows are on those four channels.

These days, there really isn't a lot of games that would interest me enough to purchase them, aside from the Civilization series. This year, there actually is one new game I'm looking forward to: The LEGO Movie Video Game. I'm a huge fan of all things Lego, but have yet to purchase any of the major video games they've released over the years (except Bionicle Heroes, back in 2006, which is still one of my absolute favorites). If I ever get a chance to purchase just one game based on Lego, that's the one I'll most likely try to get.

Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on September 06, 2014, 08:00:19 PM
Sorry for taking so long to reply. I typically don't get enough time to make long posts like this one. (This one took nearly two hours to finish.)

Yes, it certainly has been quite a while since we last spoke. I guess there just hasn't been much of an opportunity on either of our ends. Anyway, I've been doing just fine, and most of my time this year has been occupied with two things.

The first thing is that I've been playing Civilization V quite a lot since early 2013. I do limit myself to playing only on afternoons when I have more than one or two hours to spare, and I always finish playing for the day at the same approximate time (that autosave feature comes quite in handy, as it typically takes me two days to complete a game). Because of this arrangement, I'm capable of setting aside this game if I need more time for other things. (For example, I took a break for over a month so I could watch the World Cup back in June and July this summer.)

The second thing has to do with my interest in the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, specifically fanfiction. Throughout the last nearly two years, I've been reading a lot of fanfiction on a site called fimfiction.net, which has all kinds of MLP:FiM fanfiction (and I do mean all kinds). Eventually, I decided to write an MLP fanfic of my own. My first idea was obviously a crossover with Bionicle, but with over two dozen such stories already on that site, it didn't seem like a fresh enough idea to me. My second idea, however, seemed much more promising: LEGO. Combining that with the alternate world concept used in the MLP:FiM movie Equestria Girls was something that I was really interested in seeing, so I began writing my first MLP:FiM fanfic at the start of this year, and managed to finish it just less than a month ago. (Thanks to all of your advice over the years on my previous stories, I actually felt confident enough to not ask for an editor at any time while I was writing. I simply checked over each chapter three times before adding them online.) I've received quite a bit of positive feedback on it, so I'm definitely proud of my effort. If you're interested in reading it, I put a link to it in this topic (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=12936). (Don't bother pointing out potential errors, as I have no intentions of doing any further editing. However, I would be interested in hearing what you think of it. I'll let you decide on where to post your replies.)

By the way, in case if you haven't heard, I decided back in December last year to put my second LBT/Bionicle fanfic on hold, and I doubt I'll be resuming progress anytime soon. I can only work on one fanfic at a time, and I think it's clear where my inspiration has shifted.

Well, that's pretty much what I've been up to these days. It was nice talking to you again.

Title: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler

Back in the early 2000s, I used to play a lot of computer games. As for the specific genre your asking, I've never heard of the latter two, but I did play Sim City 3000 and Sim City 4. Of that genre, there was only one other game I played, which I enjoyed very much, and that was CivCity Rome, basically a city-building game set in ancient Rome. I got interested in it because it was made by the creators of the Civilization series and the Stronghold series, both of which I had already played extensively by the time that game came out. I eventually moved on to other games, but not before completing both campaigns and beating every separate scenario. :smile Total completion!

I was going to wait until after I had a chance to look over that entire topic before giving a proper answer, but then I figured that I'd probably have a hard time picking any favorites. I guess the best answer I can come up with is that the ones I like most are those that are adaptions of actual scenes from the movies, such as Chomper's introduction. After all, humanized characters are an alternate take on the series, and I'm always fascinated by how that would make familiar scenes either similar or different. If you want suggestions for future works, I would be particularly interested in seeing scene adaptions from the TV series (since that includes Ruby, my favorite LBT character).

No, I do not, nor do I have any plans of getting one anytime soon. The reason I have no interest in joining any kind of live chat is because, in a live conversation with someone, I often struggle a lot to simply get my thoughts out. I tend to mumble and stutter a lot, and there's always the fear that I'll say something the wrong way, which often leaves me not bringing up many subjects for the sake of "better safe than sorry".

Posting in a forum like this is a far more comfortable means of communication for me. I have time to gather my thoughts and articulate them in a way that (hopefully) come out very clearly. I also don't have to worry much about saying something bad, because I can look over my comment and if some part seems potentially insulting, I can just get rid of it before I even post.

I recall that this isn't the first time you've mentioned your desire to chat with me, but for the foreseeable future, I think I'd rather just stick to forum posts and private messages.

Sure, don't worry :)
I just hope that it didn't came across as pestering you there. One important not though, whenever I talk of skype I am refering to the type chat function of it unless otherwise specified. I very rarely do microphone chats via skype (most of the rare exceptions are during online computer games with Ducky123 and Rhombus), while the type chat does offer the benefits of a forum. As far as I'm concerned you don't need to worry much about insulting me. If I was easily insulted I would have to hate myself for I don't think there is anyone in the world poking as much fun at myself then I am ;)

I have zero interest in any social media sites like Facebook or Twitter. I'm not very much of a social person, so I just don't see any reason why I should join such sites at all. The forums and fanfiction sites that I've been a member of for years now are good enough for me.

For me, it would definitely be The Lego Movie (and its spin-offs and sequel). Prior to that, I loved the Bionicle movies (Mask of Light, Legends of Metru Nui, Web of Shadows, and The Legend Reborn), and I also liked Lego: The Adventures of Clutch Powers.

What can I say? I'm obviously a Lego fanatic. :D

What’s the most rage inducing game you’ve ever played?
Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on May 10, 2019, 08:40:17 PM
1, I'm currently going through a whole bunch of Lego video games. I've been posting my thoughts on each of them in the "Whatcha Playin'?" topic in the "Gamers Zone" subforum, so you can read through all of my posts there ever since I started this marathon back in January 2018. In fact, I have just barely finished one of them today, so expect to see me post my thoughts on it sometime in the next few days. Before I had started trying all of these Lego games (going as far back as 2007), my favorite was Bionicle Heroes (from 2006). Currently, my favorite game is The Lego Movie Videogame, though that might change as I eventually get around to some more recent Lego games (the most likely contender being Lego City Undercover).

2, Although I used to play a whole bunch of different games back in the early 2000s, I can't seem to recall any that really frustrated me more than occasionally. More recently, however, I used to play Civiliation V (played it from early 2013 to late 2017, so that's a five year period for just one game), and although I was content with playing at the easiest difficulty setting whenever I could, I wanted to unlock all of the achievements (I play on Steam). Many of those achievements were simple and straightforward, even if they often took many hours of lengthy gameplay to accomplish. However, there were other achievements that required playing certain scenarios on the highest difficulty setting. The first few scenarios, I managed to accomplish that, but one in particular really frustrated me endlessly. Even with the aid of all the guides I could find online, I was left with the impression that quite a bit of luck was essential for getting that achievement, and for a turn-based strategy game like Civilization, I really didn't want to rely on luck as a strategy. So eventually, I just gave up and ultimately accepted that I would not be able to unlock every single achievement (though in the end, I did managed to unlock 92% of all those achievements). And since I ended up logging a total of well over 2000 hours of gameplay, I decided it was best to not even bother with any more Civilization games, and that's when I was finally able to move on to those Lego games I'm now playing.

As far as I can immediately recall, I'd say it's a tie between the Empire State Building and the American Museum of Natural History, both of which I visited with my grandparents back in 2003. If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would you want to be?
Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on May 15, 2019, 08:36:14 PM
Okay, I've decided that rather than try to answer immediately, I'll just wait until I have time to actually think about my answers.

1, I've actually got two possible ideas for such hobbies, and they both have to do with Lego. If time wasn't an issue, I'd play through all of the Lego video games multiple times, just to see how much progress I can make if I completed them in certain various ways (such as focusing on story levels first or unlocking as much freeplay content as possible between each story level). If money wasn't an issue, I'd collect many different Lego sets, if only to see for myself how they are assembled and what they look like from every angle, rather than just seeing a few pictures online. I could even try getting a huge amount of some basic bricks to use for some massive creations I've be curious to make possible.

2, I've been mostly content where I am now. If I have to go anywhere else, I think I would prefer a large city (Boston or New York are the ones I think of first, since they're the closest to where I am now), as I'd like to live within a short distance of where I'd need to go for my everyday essentials (I don't have a driver's license) along with the assurance that other everyday needs such as water, electricity, and internet would be more likely to remain reliable. Of course, I'm sure such places have their downsides, which is why, as I've said, I'm mostly content with where I am now.

1, The ones that really come to mind are the three times I ever traveled anywhere beyond New England and New York. First, in 2005, my family and I went to North Carolina to visit my paternal grandparents, who at the time had just moved there away from Vermont, and I mostly remember it for being the very first time I ever visited a bunch of states, such as Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, and of course North Carolina. The second, in 2006, my family and I visited Washington D.C., and among the places we saw, I remember particularly enjoying the Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian, and on the way back we also visited Ocean City in New Jersey. And third, in 2013, we visited my grandparents in North Carolina again, and on the way over I took the opportunity to visit Gettysburg close to the 150th anniversary of the famous Civil War battle that took place there, and bought a few souvenirs that I later sent to fellow member Malte because I knew how much he was fascinated with the American Civil War.

2, My family owns two cats, though my mom and sister are usually the ones to care for them. If I had my way, I wouldn't want any pets at all.

What is your favourite musical instrument?
Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on May 23, 2019, 09:32:48 PM
1, I'm not really fluent in any language besides English. I learned some French back in elementary school (I've since forgotten much of it), then took a Spanish class in high school (I have managed to remember enough that I could possibly speak only a little of it (and broken, perhaps)). As for languages that interest me, I'd say I'm actually more fascinated by the ones that require a different system of writing besides the Roman Alphabet we're all familiar with (such as Greek, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, and Korean), not so much that I want to speak them, but more like so I could understand their writing systems to be able to read them, even if I don't understand what those words actually mean. :lol  I actually consider it a little fun, like deciphering a code.

In fact, I spent much of last year on a little project of mine where I was curious to see how the names of all fifty states in the US are spelled in different languages, then I extended the project to the names of all the countries and territories of the world, and then finished off with the names of all the planets and moons of the solar system. I used Wikipedia as my source, by simply going to the page of each area and then selecting a different language that page is available in, then simply writing down the title of that page. Yes, I wanted the extra challenge of handwriting all these place names in different writing systems, and believe me, some of them are much more tricky to get accurate than others.

2, I don't really have much interest in music, so I don't have any favorite instrument.

2, Can't really think of anything. If I ever get interested in trying something new, it'll probably be when I first hear about it, which often happens to be the same time I get a chance to try it.

I don't really play board games much with anyone these days. However, my favorite board game is definitely Risk, as I find the concept of capturing territories to take over the world quite exciting. But like I said, I no longer have any interest in playing board games with others, so my best option for playing a game of Risk by myself is with a simplified version called Lux (https://sillysoft.net/lux/). That link leads to where you can download that game so you can trying it out yourself, if you're interested. Though come to think of it, it's been quite a while since I last played that game, as I've been preoccupied with other things of interest, and I seriously doubt I'll find much time for it anytime soon.

Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on June 03, 2019, 07:30:03 PM
1, Only a couple times, all of them many years ago. The only one I can recall is one that I'm sure I once mentioned on another topic about LBT dreams (you may have to do some digging around to find it). I was more of an outside observer in that dream, but I do recall yelling at Ruby to run for her life and somehow she did exactly that (that may have been the closest to lucid dreaming I can ever recall). The other details, I can't quite recall at this time, but I'm sure it's in that post I made in the aforementioned topic.

2, While I did take swimming lessons as a child and used to enjoy the occasional swimming pool, I lost interest sometime less than ten years ago. As a result, I honestly don't know how well I could swim these days if I absolutely had to.

3, I'm okay with it as much as any other pizza topping. Almost everyone in my family is okay with it, enough so that Hawaiian style (pineapple and ham) is one of the two kinds we always get on every pizza night (the other obviously being classic pepperoni). In fact, we've had pineapple pizza so often that I now find it as more acceptable rather than preferential, not because I dislike pineapple (as I said, I like it fine as a pizza topping), but rather I'd just simply want more variety instead of the same thing every single time.

1, Definitely no, absolutely not. In fact, it's now be approximately a decade since the last time I ever seriously considered such an idea (it was one of the very few times I ever participated in an RP on this site). Back then, my preferred choice of LBT species was Fast Runner, so if I was forced to make this choice against my will, that's the one I'd probably settle with.

2, Not having to go anywhere, no unwanted surprises, and a consistently stable internet connection are all I really need to spend a day just relaxing and doing whatever I want.

3, Not counting the dorm rooms I had in college (I had different rooms for each of the two years I was there), I've been living in the same house for as long as I can remember. This house was built back in 1992, so my only knowledge of where I had lived for the first two years of my life is from what my parents told me (all I can recall at this time is that it was somewhere on Spear Street outside the city of Burlington).

If I was asked to rate the GOF personally, I would've also gave it a 9/10 to be honest.

What book, movie, video game, etc. do you most wish you could forget, only so you could experience it for the first time all over again?
Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on June 09, 2019, 09:21:28 PM
1, I'm not an outdoors person at all, so I would prefer neither, but if I was forced to chose one over the other, I'd go with fishing (which I've tried only once before in my entire life), as I'm just too out of shape to do much hiking.

2, First of all, a major reason why I didn't give it a rank quite so high is because I've been here for so long that most of the members I became close with have since moved on to other things, and thus it feels like I've been left behind and struggling to really connect with any of the current generation of members. As for your question, my dad has occasionally helped me with a few attempts, but I guess I never had enough interest for those lessons to really stick.

3, I would prefer to put a different spin on that particular question: to also go back in time and experience it for the first time again with everyone else. My answer in that case would be Bionicle, which started in 2001, but I didn't really get into the storyline until late 2003. I especially would've liked to have been able to play that Mata Nui Online Game as it received new updates every month, rather than play through the whole thing in one go as it became in the years after that first year.

1, I am unfamiliar with that genre (if I've heard it, I couldn't properly identify it), so I can't give an opinion on it.

2, I definitely enjoy reading, though I've been so preoccupied with reading fanfiction online these days that I haven't read many actual books recently. I do some volunteer work at the local library every Wednesday, mostly just making sure all the books are properly organized on the shelves. Sometimes, as I go through the nonfiction section, I come across something interesting and read a few pages from it before moving on with my work.

3, I don't have much particular interest in music, though I suppose most of the ones I'm fond of come from the 80s and 90s.

4, Back when I finished high school and went on to college, my dream job was to work in aerospace engineering. My lifelong greatest fascination has always been space exploration, and I wanted to contribute to what could ultimately save all of humanity. However, after I finished college, reality started setting in that perhaps I might not turn out to be so content in such a career after all. These days, after being obsessed with all things Lego over the last few years, I suppose my new dream job would be something associated with Lego.

Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler

1, I definitely have had a severe phobia of dogs for as long as I can remember. Even something as minor as the jingling sound of a dog collar is enough to get my heart racing. I remember many times whenever my family and I visited some of my cousins that they would have to lock their pet dog away just so I could be willing to even set foot inside the house. Good thing my mom has always been more of a cat person, anyway.

2, My most common reaction to that is to simply refuse to speak up to anyone, and preferably get away from others and lock myself alone in a room for a while. I always try to avoid dealing with such issues whenever they come up, but if someone tries pestering me repeatedly despite my warnings, I have been known to react quite violently.

Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on June 23, 2019, 09:56:23 PM
1, Just the assurance and piece of mind that everything around me continues to work exactly as they should. Basically, all the modern conveniences that many of us take for granted remaining completely functional day after day is what I would consider a little thing in life to keep me happy.

2, Yes! Absolutely! Definitely! Earlier generations of people may have been content with traveling around the world and call the experience living a full life, but in only the last few decades, there has just been an explosion of new things to experience. Tons of books to read, tons of movies and TV shows to watch, tons of video games to play, quite frankly one of my biggest concerns regarding mortality is that I fear I'll never have enough time to take in all this content I'm so interested in. In addition, I'm just so curious about learning the full story of everything around me, I actually would welcome the chance to stick around forever and watch how the world and the universe will change over time. While some might consider immortality a curse that forces you to eventually lose all your friends and family, I would actually call that an acceptable trade-off for the opportunity to have all the time I could ever ask for to experience everything I want to experience and personally witness just how far humanity will really go in the future (as well as offer future generations a personal account of what life was really like for us back in these days).

3, Definitely a night owl. In recent years, it's become so extreme that I'm actually overlapping with my dad the early bird (which means there's never a moment in this house where everyone is asleep at the same time). I've intended to go back to something less extreme over the last few years, but all my efforts thus far have been quite futile.

1, Not that I can immediately recall, at least not any specific moments. I'm sure that whatever times it did happen, it was usually from failed attempts to get involved in a conversation.

2, I used to watch NASCAR races when I was kid, so it was natural I'd want to one day be a stock car racer. I gave up on that dream long ago, replaced with my fascination for space travel to want to become an astronaut. As I reached my teenage years, that dream was adjusted as I faced reality and figured a better place for me in space exploration would be at mission control. These days, I just can't see myself doing any of these things.

3, Math was typically one the school subjects I tended to do best at, so it should be no surprise that I enjoy it. I've always been quite obsessed with making sure I get things just right, and the logical outcomes of mathematics assured me that, so long as I followed the process correctly, I'll always get it right.

1, Back in the late 2000s, I used to frequently watch certain reality shows with my mom (such as Survivor or The Amazing Race). I lost interest in such shows quite a while ago, but my mom still watches them all the time, and I don't mind the occasional glance if I happen to be passing through the room while she's watching them.

2, I simply avoid any contact with anyone for as long as possible. Talking or communicating with anyone for any reason will only escalate my stress, so all I really need is just some time to myself to cool off.

1, Ah, now there is quite a story. I remember when the first Bionicle sets came out in 2001. I was in fifth grade, and some of my classmates had brought in their sets to sort of battle each other until the masks came off. I guess you could say I wanted to impress everyone by collecting all six sets in the "Toa" series, but by the time I eventually got them all, it was 2002 and my classmates had moved on to the new "Bohrok" series. I eventually got all six of those, but then came the "Toa Nuva" series, and only managed to get half of them when I realized there was another upcoming series (I later learned it was named "Bohrok-Kal") and figured there was no way I could keep up with all of that. But it wasn't long before I finally began to find out there was actually an epic storyline behind the sets, and by the end of 2003, I was devoted to closely following the story and desperately wanted every single set I could get my hands on (starting with getting the rest of the Toa Nuva and then all the other series that came after). And that continued for years all the way up to 2010 when the theme was finally ended. I honestly can't think of many people who have amassed a collection quite as extensive as mine.

2, Neither, actually. Never tried either of them, and I have no interest in trying either of them anytime soon.

Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler

1, I am completely indifferent to animals. I don't mind them and would never deliberately harm them, but I don't really care much for them and find them far less interesting than a lot of other things.

2, I don't think Bionicle would count since I first really got into it in late 2003, right around my 13th birthday. Prior to that, the only shows I was really heavily into was Land Before Time (don't watch it much these days, but still interested enough to stick around here) and Ed, Edd, n' Eddy (It was definitely my absolute favorite show around 2000-2003, but I hardly ever even think about it anymore these days). Something else I also enjoyed watching as a kid were some of those Eyewitness videos I used to rent from the local library, and it was only a few months ago that I discovered not only were they actually part of a series, but that entire series can be found on an official YouTube channel. (I have not yet had a chance to watch any of those videos, but it's certainly something I'd like to get around to at some point.) Here's the link, if you're interested. 1, The 1990s, because it was that special time after the Cold War ended but before the War on Terror began, meaning that this decade was the only period of time since the start of WWII where America was not involved in any major worldwide conflicts. Not to mention, I also have a bit of childhood nostalgia for how we used to watch movies and videos on those cassette tapes.

1, Well, I guess it really depends on your definition of "video". I watch at lot of shows on TV and sometimes have to see them at a later time, and there's a few movies I occasionally like to watch. In terms of YouTube videos, I honestly have been too busy lately to even bother with it, but once I do eventually manage to get some time to spare, I think what I'll most likely prefer to watch would be playthrough videos of other people playing all the various Lego video games I've played (I've found two channels for such: packattack for just a quick guide of what the game offers and how to complete it; Blitzwinger for the entertainment of his commentary). But like I said, I've been a little to preoccupied with other priorities to bother wasting my time with watching videos, regardless of how much I would in fact like to watch them.

1, My opinion in regards to what, exactly? :confused  Do I like it personally, or is it something I think should be cared for? If it's the former, I've visited the coast a few times throughout my life and I think it's fine, but I'm okay with where I live, which is not far from a large lake. If it's the latter, with environmental issues getting increasingly worse these days, of course I strongly believe that we should take better care of our oceans, and I say that should start by making sure our trash actually goes into a trashcan and not out into the ocean.

1, As mentioned in an earlier answer, I'm a little too occupied with other things to do much watching of YouTube videos these days, but once I do get enough free time, I'll be curious to watch Blitzwinger on his playthroughs of numerous Lego video games (I've already seen the ones where he tries some of my most favorite Lego games, such as the Lego Movie Videogame). I suppose I might also be interested in seeing what kind of official content there is to see on Lego's official YouTube channel. (Not to mention, I also still plan on eventually watching all those episodes of Eyewitness on their official channel, as I'm sure I mentioned on another earlier answer.)

2, Never. They're very rare as far south as where I live, and while I have occasionally heard that one would be predicted to be visible from my area, I never seem to even bother checking (I'm sure at least once it was due to cloudy skies that night).

Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on August 12, 2019, 07:12:43 PM
1, I suppose I consider LBT7 to be my favorite, mostly for the "alien" Rainbowfaces. The only sequels I have still yet to see are 10 and 14, so there's a possibility that 10 might become one of my favorites, but I honestly can't say that for sure without actually seeing it. As for my favorite LBT character, that used to be Littlefoot for a while, but once the TV series came out, I started considering Ruby to be my favorite. (For most movies and shows, my favorite characters often tend to be male, so it was quite a significant personal step for me when I eventually acknowledged that a female like Ruby had become my absolute favorite LBT character and not just a favorite female character.)

2, In all honesty, I seem to be so indifferent to most LBT songs that I don't really have a particular least favorite, just a bunch of them that I wouldn't mind not having to listen to at all.

For most movies and shows, my favorite characters often tend to be male

Why is that? Is it because you're male yourself? And/or is there another reason? (I don't mean this question in an accusatory way at all; I'm just curious)
Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on August 21, 2019, 08:36:25 PM
1, I honestly can't really think of any examples at this time. I guess I just don't really think much of most particular moments in my life.

2, I am male, but the reason behind my preference of characters is not quite that simple. Throughout my childhood and adolescence, I watched a lot of various shows and movies, and after a while I began to notice a trend that all of my favorite characters from everything happen to be male. For the record, I do try my best to not come across as sexist in any way, but that trend did cause me some concern that perhaps I might be subconsciously sexist, which was obviously something that made me uncomfortable with admitting it to anyone. But some time after I watched the LBT TV series, I really did like the newly included character Ruby, and it actually took me a while to finally admit to myself that, yes, Ruby had now surpassed Littlefoot as my favorite LBT character. Acknowledging Ruby as my favorite LBT character, and then later getting interested in the shows My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and its spinoff Equestria Girls (both of which are obviously loaded with female characters), I am no longer so fearful that I might be subconsciously sexist, because now I can point out that some of my favorite characters on some shows are indeed female.

1, Not so much change something as I would simply add it in, as in I would add in a movie or even a TV episode that shows us exactly what happened when Chomper met Ruby, how he came under her care, and why they decided to go to the Great Valley on their own. EDIT: And also how Chomper and Ruby were introduced to and accepted by everyone in the Great Valley.

1, These days, no, absolutely not! As a child, didn't mind it that much, but by around the age of 12, I just lost any interest in the outdoors. Quite frankly, I can easily see myself feeling quite bored if I attempted any outdoor activities. Don't get me wrong, I can respect people who enjoy those things, but for me personally, that sort of thing is just not for me at all.

2, I really can't think of one specific quote off the top of my head. I'll admit that over many years I've been keeping fortunes found in those fortune cookies that are always served at Chinese food restaurants, as some of those fortunes do have some good advice, such as "Nothing is a waste of time if you learn something from it," or "Strong and bitter words indicate a weak cause." Aside from that, I suppose the most inspiring quote in life I've heard comes from my dad, who often likes to say something along the lines of "Failure is the best teacher there is," or "Nothing is a better teacher than failure," (I can't remember if there's any specific way he words it, but I think you get the idea).

^That answers my question in a pretty definitive manner. :lol

Do you know what you'd rate each LBT movie, and the TV series, out of 10?

(I don't think I asked this yet)

What is your least and most favorite color?

1, To try to rate that much content is something I just don't have time for these days. Besides, I still have not yet seen movies 10 and 14, so even if I did somehow have the time, my list would be incomplete (and I'm an obsessive completionist, all or nothing, so that's another reason why I won't bother rating the other movies anytime soon).

2, My favorite is definitely green. For my least favorite, I never really thought much about it, but I guess if I had to rank my preferences of all colors, pink would probably end up at the bottom of the list.

1, To be honest, I just don't really have any interest in seeking out those movies to watch. The last time I tried watching any LBT movies was many years ago, back when video rental stores were still a thing (boy how times have changed), I was able to get 9, 12, and 13, all of which I had previously never seen before. Since that's obviously no longer an option, I'm just not sure where I should go to even try to find those two movies to watch (even more challenging by factoring in how reluctant I am to let anyone in my family even be aware of it). My best preference would be if someone had uploaded them on a video sharing site like YouTube or DailyMotion, but even then, as I previously said, I'm just not really that interested at this time.

2, I don't think I actually owned them myself, but I do remember playing Red, Blue, and Yellow way back when I was a kid (not sure if I ever actually completed any of them). Other than that, no, I've long since moved on from Pokemon and never played any other of those games. I wasn't even interested in Pokemon Go when it came out, although literally everyone else in my family decided to get it (my parents have even developed a habit of having that game active on their phones whenever they're driving around anywhere). I've already got plenty of things occupying much my time, I don't need that thing taking up a huge portion of it (especially from seeing just how addicted my family has gotten to it).

Do you own any LBT-related accessories, merchandise, or items?

1, As far as I know, all I got are what I believe to be some McDonalds toys (ramming Cera, flipping Ducky, running Chomper, and water-squirting Petrie), which are sitting in my closet along with a bunch of other stuff I continue to hold onto but never use. I guess I was never such a huge fan to ever be interested in any merchandise.

EDIT: Oh, I also have that Activity Center game (or whatever it's called) for PC from back in the mid 90s, but like the other things, it's in my closet and I'm unlikely to ever try playing it anytime soon.

Have you ever been infected by any type of malware on your computer?

1, I personally have thankfully never had anything like that happen to me. However, there was one incident not long ago where my maternal grandfather was struggling to get a new email address working and in an effort to seek help online, let's just say he made a series of poor choices (just about everything he did at every step was the wrong thing to do), resulting in both his computer and my grandmother's computer getting infected. In all honesty, I still can't help but chuckle at how my dad explained the situation to my mom and she kept on saying, "No! No! He shouldn't do that! No!" Fortunately, my dad is an expert at working with computers, so despite his complaints about having more work to do in addition to his regular job, he was able to eventually resolve the issue without any further trouble. I guess this just goes to show that with the way people used to trust each other back in the day, older people are more prone to falling for today's scams than the common average.

1, You know, it's been so long since I last took any classes (graduated from college in 2012), I honestly can't really remember what worked best for me, other than just simply study the material that would likely be on the upcoming test.

2, To be honest, it would all really depend on whether or not I had someone around to help me, as I've found myself to be more of a follower than a leader. If that person knew what he or she was doing and gave me clear instructions on what I had to do to ensure our survival, then I think we might have a good chance of lasting for quite some time. If I was completely on my own, then chances are pretty high that I would be totally screwed in a matter of days.

1, I'd probably go with telepathy and mind control, as I don't like getting my hands dirty and would love to have the ability to make others do all the dirty work for me. Not to mention, I like being aware of things, so being able to read the minds of others would allow me to be certain if I could trust someone.

2, I never really put much thought into that kind of speculation, so I don't really have an answer to that question.

1, Definitely an introvert. I just don't like talking to people face-to-face most of the time.

2, What little child wouldn't be scared of the dark and want a nightlight in their bedroom? I eventually grew out of it, but since I had to share a bedroom with my younger brother throughout much of my childhood, he insisted on keeping that nightlight for a few more years when I felt like I didn't need it anymore.

1, Back when it was just starting out (which I guess is what fans these days refer to as "Gen 1"), I certainly did. I watched the TV show, played the games that were out at the time (Red, Blue, and Yellow), and read some of the books, though I was never much for the trading card game. I gradually lost interest in the entire franchise as "Gen 2" was underway (which I believe would be around the early 2000s, which would make sense considering that I ultimately became a huge fan of Bionicle around late 2003). Any further glimpses in the franchise I would occasionally see in later years (particularly from my sister) were nothing more than a minor curiosity for me, but more recently, it is seeing just how addicted my parents have become to the mobile game Pokemon Go (often going on a drive through town just for that game and nothing else almost every evening) that has made me conclusively decide that I will never express any interest in that franchise ever again.

What do you think of YouTube's new COPPA policy?
Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on January 15, 2020, 08:36:05 PM
1, I don't really watch a lot of YouTube, so it doesn't really effect me all that much. However, thanks to the fact that I keep up to date on MLP news on Equestria Daily, I've heard that one consequence of this new policy is that any "for kids" videos are not allowed to link to any other videos in the video itself, which completely ruins the point of those "choose your own ending" videos that account for some of the Equestria Girls shorts. Thankfully, the MLP Wiki site still has the links to all those ending videos, though it still sucks to think that because I had shared here only the links to the beginning parts, some people looking back on the discussion topic might be confused by some of those shorts appearing to be "incomplete". Other than that, I can't really think of much else on how that new policy would effect me at all.

1, No, I have zero interest in the horror genre in any form of media.

2, As far as I can recall, I might have occasionally seen little bits of that show if it happened to be on TV way back when I was a kid, but I was never interested enough to seek out when any episodes of it would've been on TV, and I still have no interest in watching that show.

Do you think Bionicle will ever have a revival?
Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler
Post by: The Chronicler on April 19, 2021, 08:22:44 PM
1, In all honesty, I've never really thought about that. I mean, I've already listed the years of Bionicle from my most to least favorite, so doing the same for seasons of MLP:FiM is definitely worth considering. I'll need some time to reflect on the series before I can give you a confident answer.

2, As much as I would love to see Bionicle return, the reality of how poorly the G2 version of 2015-2016 turned out tells me that a second revival is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Title: Re: Got Questions? Ask The Chronicler

1, I saw the original version back in the day, but not the recent reboot. I don't really have anything to say about the original version because, as far as I'm concerned, it was just another random cartoon I had watched as a kid whenever it happened to be on TV.

2, If you're referring to the 2016 miniseries, then yes, I did eventually manage to watch that Bionicle series (one of the very few times I tried to watch anything on Netflix, so simply finding it was a bit of a learning process). I thought it was okay. Nothing spectacular, but I certainly wouldn't mind watching it again if I had the opportunity.
