Somehow, I actually saw all of them growing up.

Awesome! Did you get this as a collector's item?  :thinking
Yeah, I consider myself a collector of stuff like this.

Today's the day, it arrived. Here are some photos as promised. Even more awesome is that it came with the original box and the instructions, too.

I'm gonna say Michael Clarke Duncan, because of his performance in The Green Mile.

General Land Before Time / Re: When should we expect news about LBT 15?
« on: November 04, 2022, 02:59:27 PM »
Given movie #14 released a year after Jurassic World (2015), I'd say we sadly missed our most likely chance for $15, since it didn't release in 2019 (which would have been within a year of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, released in 2018).

If it doesn't release in 2023 (within a year of Jurassic World Dominion), I'd say we're gonna have to hope for the best and wait until whenever the first movie in the next Jurassic Park trilogy releases +1 year and hope Universal wants to attempt another cash-in on Jurassic Park with TLBT.

I can't believe 2007 was 15 years ago...  :rhett_ohsnap
I know, I can't either. For me, 15 years ago was half my life ago heh

*nope*

Rhombus?

If done right - like Jurassic World - I'd be all for a remake/reboot, personally. But the same could be said another #15 so eh. I'll watch anything as long as it's not intentionally bad/poorly made, like how I'll listen to any music that's good.

They definitely must have confused it for one of the sequels, or at least I'm hoping that's the case (don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the sequels).

I'm 30, and for personal reasons I won't go into, there are certain scenes that will make me tear up everytime. I still haven't worked up the courage to watch the original movie again since 2017 because of that haha.

I read that the "Earthshakin' Mountain Ruby" toy is extremely hard to find, but I was up for the challenge and so I searched Ebay, and what luck, I found one from a trusted seller on Ebay for only $75, so I jumped on that immediately. I'd always wanted it in high school since Ruby is my favorite TLBT character, but none of my grandparents could ever find it.

But 15 years later...  :TakeMoney :RubyCurious

I'll be sure to update this thread when it arrives next week.

(Sorry about going ghost suddenly, even though I just joined recently; I didn't feel good for over a week and had stuff going on in addition to that.)

I gotta ask, did you have a favorite Cluefinder? I was always partial to Owen myself ^_^
I would say Joni is my favorite of the group, though I do like all four characters too.

Great OC, did you write them a page on the wiki's OC section?
Huh, I didn't know that existed. I'll think about it, since I've given her a bit of lore/story on her toyhouse profile so far. (Although the art isn't mine, I commissioned it from an artist I follow on twitter and deviantart.)

The art looks promising and I would like to see more.
Hopefully I can provide some actually examples soon heh. The art there is just a ref sheet I commissioned.

I do also have an additional art piece of Freckles that I commissioned, now. It's set during TLBT13 during the "yellow belly dance" scene.

I'm hoping to draw her myself often when my motivation returns, given the only time I've drawn her was 15 years ago now.

You’re OC looks amazing!  I like it a lot!
Thanks, she was 15 years in the making heh. (Wish I knew what I did with the original sketch tho.)

General Land Before Time / Re: whats your fave lbt song
« on: October 21, 2022, 10:38:39 AM »
Weirdly enough? "Yellow Belly Bounce", but I think that's because of my love for experimental music, and it's less straightforward/more "experimental" than other TLBT songs I recall.

I did some digging through wikipedia to find out what the song's genre may be, and this was the best thing I could uncover. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worldbeat Basically the same genre as songs from The Lion King, due to it seemingly combining traditional/folk music with rock and pop akin to The Lion King's songs. There may be other TLBT songs like that, but I'd have to watch every movie again to find them (a challenge I'm willing to accept any day of the week when I have time).

But truthfully, I like all the songs in the franchise. I'm not picky with it comes to music I enjoy (I wish the songs from the sequels were on Spotify tho).

The Welcome Center / The wiki and my OC brought me here hehe

Been a fan of the franchise for as long as I can remember (I'm 30), and I think I have had an account here at some point in middle or high school (or I may have just been a lurker without an account since I was less social back then?). But I was browsing the LBT wiki for a screenshot to add as a backdrop to my TLBT OC's toyhouse profile, and I saw a link to this forum there and I was like "Oh wow, I remember it, I should finally make an account if I never did".

This is my OC Freckles, I'd created her wayyyy back in 2007 after I saw TLBT13 for the first time, but I was like 15 then, so I didn't give her much storyline/lore/etc. other than this song being her in a nutshell (she has self-esteem issues about her own appearance). I had drawn her back in 2007, but the sketch is sadly probably lost forever as I used to be pretty bad about keeping my drawings where they wouldn't get thrown away, damaged, or lost. But I've been working slowly on her bio ever since getting her designed- https://toyhou.se/18494845.freckles Toyhouse is pretty nifty for that.

As for a bit about myself, well I'm a huge fan of The Land Before Time (obviously haha), Ice Age, Happy Feet, Rio, Jurassic Park, All Dogs Go to Heaven, Twister (the 1996 movie), ET,  and too many other movies to list here. Musically, I'll listen to basically anything that isn't bad, but my favorite styles tend to be alternative rock, nu metal/alternative metal, symphonic metal, traditional heavy metal, hard rock, and metalcore; my favorite bands being Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Bullet For My Valentine, Ice Nine Kills, Evanescence, Nightwish, Alestorm, Chevelle, Red, Nickelback, 90s Metallica, and Breaking Benjamin, but I also enjoy early Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Halsey's latest album, Architects, Seether, Slipknot, Godsmack, a few older Katy Perry songs, some classic rock, Epica, Within Temptation, and POD, sometimes country and hip-hop (if it's got influences from rock or metal).

I'm a bit of an artist and writer, but art block has been hurting me there. But I think with my first-ever OC finally given a proper reference sheet after 15 years, I should be able to find the needed motivation to finally get back into drawing and writing. I have a twitter where I post art, I should end up linking that if I ever get back into consistently posting anything to it. Mainly it's just been used for music and sharing photos of merchandise I buy. I like having OCs, and I may share my official sona one day when I'm more established here.

I enjoy a lot of older PC games like the Spy Fox series (especially Operation Ozone), the Cluefinders series, Zapper: One Wicked Cricket, the Jumpstart Games, and adaptations of movies I like such as Happy Feet, TLBT, and Ice Age 2 and 3. I still have all my old PC, GBA, and DS games from when I was younger since I refused to get rid of them, and still play them every now and then. (I did have to buy the Spy Fox games on Steam though, since I couldn't find my physical copy of Operation Ozone). I'm old school haha.

I guess that's about it for me for now? :bolt
