I'm sorry to say that I have to pull out of this project as well. I'm starting a new job soon and want to be able to devote my full attention to it. Gonna have a lot to learn!

Besides, I've tried to practice the singing parts for my character, and I'm not so great at them. Heck, even when it comes to the speaking lines, I'm sure I'll hate my versions of those in no time, too. I guess what I'm trying to say is...I don't think I could cut it in the voice-acting biz, you know?

And finally, I have to admit that lately I think I've been falling out of love with LBT. I just don't have the motivation to engage with it the way I used to. And the fact that the last fandub project took seven years to finish only makes it even harder for me to feel motivated. I mean, give me a few years, and I probably won't even care about LBT anymore or remember this project existed.

Again, I'm sorry, and I really hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone. I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one who sent in an audition for my character, so hopefully there will be someone else for you to fall back on.

First of all Rainbow, good luck with the new job!

It's a shame you have to pull out, but I do get where you're coming from. If I remember correctly I was up for having a role in the original dub but also fell out of LBT while it was being done. It was nice to come back and see it finished though. I would say this project wouldn't take so long since now we have a bit more experience with doing this sort of thing but of course with the limited number of active members doing the voiceovers and those members also being pretty busy, it will take some time yet.


I was going to leave it at just Petrie's mom for this project since I'm not sure just how much I can switch up my voice, but if there are any gaps within the female roles I can maybe try and put another audition in sometime? Or I can try and do some one-liners if that helps? I'm free most weekends now and hopefully when I start my training for my new job I'll be in a hotel room so I'll have a fair bit of privacy.

It's a shame you have to leave the project, Rainbow, but I respect your decision.  I also recently started a part-time job and can't spend nearly as much time editing as I had been previously, but I'm still devoted to everything that lies ahead.

I'm not sure if I ever talked about this with Mumbling, but we may have originally planned to have just one character per cast member, but if it becomes necessary, we could potentially try out having one cast member voicing two or more characters if we can't get a large enough cast assembled.  I'll bring this up with Mumbling when I get a chance.

That's fair. My thinking is that I can be available to step in as a 'backup' VA for one other role if there's a struggle to fill it. I think I can change up my voice enough, but when I get a moment I'll try and record myself as a different character to make sure.

I similarly don't have a lot of interest in LBT these days, probably not since the years shortly after I joined this forum. However, for me personally it's the people that keep me coming back to this forum, rather than the series. Projects like these form a strong bond between members and will always be remembered fondly.

I will give the roles some thought when I am in a better headspace.
