They managed to get rid of them, luring him to rainbowfaces' warp machine. But he wasn't tear from reality completely. He moved back in time and ended at the events of original movie...

And it's the end of our story...

All of the pain and fear he had caused for Littlefoot, his closest friend, now struck him harder then the boulder pinning him down. Chomper closes his eyes in relief that it is finally over.
