How many people are seeing this weird bug where the links disappear when you load the board? :huh: Malte's already told me he's seeing this issue.

Saw it some last night and twice this morning. Once when I tried to click on this topic and once when I tried to reply to this topic. I had to use the refresh botton both times. Weird.

not seen any thing like that but theres some broken image or somethign loading from a 209.ip addy that is tending to make board loads craw.
ip is i5.ifrm.com I guess thats where all the images load from includign the background but sence all major code and image is loading its going to be a single one that is causieng the constant loading/transfering message

Yep, nobody is alone with this one, it seems. I'm getting the same problem, on both Internet Explorer 6 and 7. I thought it was somebody's idea of a joke, but now that I think about it (and Malte mentioned it to me earlier today that it wasn't exactly a typical kind of joke), maybe it is an actual technical problem...
Any thoughts on what's going on?

Dangit Petrie, you got me and nova working for over 1/2 hour on this, to the point where I removed an image from the source code that novaflare tracked down as "corrupt"! :blink: <_< :nyah

I forgot about April Fools day too. Odd, I just never think of it unless someone tells me, or if I see the date directly. :p

I had a feeling it was just some prank. I'm usually skeptical about strange occurances on April 1st. So many years of being pranked has taught me to be on high alert on April Fool's Day. I'm not really fond of April 1st, to be honest.

heheh. As for students playing pranks on teachers well lets just say 8th graders dont hold a candle to bored 11 graders and seniors heh. We really got our teachers good back in the day. When you got 2 full clsses in a englisgh class well the teacher has some trouble :)
Well im not sure but i think there really is somethign wrong with spacer.gif as i never even seen the dissapearing link gag you pulled (im useing fire fox so who knows) But what i was getting untill i used add block to block spacer.gif image is a ocnstant load from one of the 2 209 ip addys.

I haven't a clue as to what that is. I've had no trouble loading anything, before or after this prank. Everything should be back to normal. I believe the 209 server is where things are hosted if they're uploaded through the forum, so if that was so, all the images would be broken right now, save for those people who are using offsite hosting.
I just loaded the page in Firefox and there's nothing amiss. Its the portable version and everything is cleared out the minute the browser is closed so I'm not seeing cached pages. I use Opera by default nowadays and I've had no issues with missing images.
I'll try later this evening to find out more about this all the same. ;)

Hmmi nuked my cache but still had the trouble ill try again and see incase i cached it bad a secound time.

Could you take a screenshot of the board and circle what's wrong? Maybe that would help me.

It cleared up now but it was this image

And beign that its a fully transperant gif it wouldnt be possible to see. Sense it was in a load loops it would not exe show as a x for a missing image. It just sat and loaded but never loaded heh.
I did how ever find out it wasnt my cache as right after i posted i tried ie wich has never been here and got the same constant loading (it showed loadign spacer.gif).

Yeh could have been something with the isp im on who knows. Maybe they use a caching proxy that had a corupted version that didnt update right. Or if any one else got it something screwy upstream of the 209 host.
