There are many people that I know that say I am a really good actor and that I'm really in character when I do so. I seem to be very fond of voice acting especially, it just seems like a more interesting profession. It would be pretty cool if I could start from scratch and do voice overs for small things. Maybe flash movies or something. But still, voice acting seems like an interesting occupation. Wouldn't it be funny if I was actually picked to do a voice in The Land Before Time or something like that? :lol I don't mean to brag, so I'll ask this. Does anyone else on the board believe they have good voice over talents as well?

I suppose many of us could imagine to do voice acting. I expect it would be hard work, but also lots of fun if you feel you are doing well. As for my own voice I keep being addressed as "Mrs. Pattberg" by people on the phone while nobody talking directly to me ever confirmed my voice to be particularly high or whatever. I wonder if I unconsciously talk higher on the phone than I do in normal conversation? I can vary my voice from very high to low pitch but I cannot judge whether or not my usual talking voice is of any particular interest.
There have been the singing projects in the GOF which offered (and will do so in the future) members the chance to present their voices to the public. I've sometimes been dreaming (or was it just mere dreaming?) about some projects which would require voices on a less musical level. There have been vague approaches by members of this board to the attempt creating a land before time computer game. Chances are that such attempts could be resumed in which case voices might be needed. The day may come in which a member of this board manages to create little own movies either by cutting LBT movie's footage in a way as to tell a new story or by creating something entirely new (certainly not me though as I have neither the software nor the knowledge required to do this). If that day comes I'm sure many of us would be eager to help by giving their voices to a character.
For all I know many voice actors are not just voice actors but are mainly actors who perform visually as well as audible. You like to wear costumes and to pose for pictures which you posted in this board Cyber. You are creative and (no flatery meant) there are certainly people who would look worse on photos than you do. If you feel that acting is your vocation, you should start looking for a stage nearby where you can start to ascend the "ladder".

About the only person I can imitate well is my dad. :lol :lol Only some members of the family can tell the difference. Even my best friend screws up. As for singing, I have no formal training....so it's self taught based on what musical experience I gained in high school.
Maybe you can share some impressions with us Cyber. Try an LBT voice or two.

Yeah. But which character to pick? :lol I'm usually best with my normal voice and really showing the emotions my character is feeling. But yeah, I can imitate several different voices. But nothing that's are too high or else my voice will crack. :lol :lol

Well then avoid Petrie. :p Try Littlefoot or maybe Chomper.

If we ever start a kind of voice acting project around here, we might want to pick some lines for each character from the movies and then we try to imitate them. I guess it would be fun.

Oh man. Littlefoot and Chomper would both be a challenge too. Because my voice is DEEP, and I mean REALLY deep. I'd probably be better off imitating an adult voice like Mr. Threehorn's. :lol :lol :lol

If I worked at it, I could probably get close to Petrie. :p

I have a friend of mine who is gifted with voice acting. He can imitate almost anyone he can think of. He can even do some female voices. I can do a couple of voices myself; like Mario from the Super Mario Brothers. I'm not sure about LBT characters, but I could probably try Mr. Threehorn.

Me too! That's porobably one of the only Land Before Time characters I can even get close to. I think my voice of Petrie needs a lot of work but I can honestly say I'm kinda good with it. I don't have anything better to do in my life right now then try to sound like Petrie. God, someone give me a hobby and quick.
I don't really have any other impressions except my friend Martin says I do a preety good impression of Eric Cartman from South Park. :)

It is remarkable that Petrie of all characters seems to be the one most people are ready to imitate. His squeaky voices seems partikularly difficult to me me. I cannot say which character I could best imitate or if there is any however slight resemblance to any of the characters when I don't try to imitate any one of them at all. Maybe we have to meet in a microphone chat to figure it out ;)
