Title: In which forums do you post?
Post by: Midnight on January 30, 2015, 02:15:33 AM
(I'm positive that I'm not breaking any rules by asking, but apologies if I missed the one that stated that I can't do that).

As you can see, I’m really nuts for forums... not because I like them that much, but mostly because I work the in front of a monitor the entire day, bashing the keyboard like a madman and I REALLY need a distraction. Problem is... that since the year started, I have left at least three of them because they were a complete mess in which EVERY topic turned into a political discussion (I have already stated that I hate the topic passionately, with my entire soul) or insults were a common thing amongst most members... simply not cool.

As for today, I’m here in the GOF and in a handful of other forums, which I visit sporadically due to low activity and the like (this happens to be the one in which I spend the most time, actually).

So, question is... is there any forum as nice as this one that you would like to recommend me? As long as it is cartoon related and the rules are as sensible as the ones in here, there shouldn’t be a problem.

Thanks in advance, my friends!

Oops.  Didn't see that.  I don't know any, other than maybe you might find one under "Jedi Council Forums" for "Star Wars the Clone Wars" and "Rebels".

Thanks for the suggestions, my friend. Not exactly what I'm looking for, but I appreciate them =)

I'm afraid the only other cartoon related board I am active on wouldn't be much help since it is in German and a lot more political in many respects than the GOF is. Avoiding the AM section and some of the Fridge however should keep you clear of most of the political discussions on the GOF if that is what you wish.
Political discussion needn't be insulting or hostile, but outside of the sections named (the AM section in particular being created for that very kind of discussion) I think political debate is not so frequent on the GOF.

The only other forum I'm active on is the Steam Powered User Forums, under the username "aabicus".

Thanks for the suggestions, my friends and more importantly... SORRY for all the typos I'm looking at here... I totally shouldn't post when I'm that tired.

EDIT: And just to make it clear, I'm perfectly fine on the GoF, political discussions or not, but I really want to take my mind off of work, that's is what I'm looking to yet another forum to keep me busy.

I'm still looking, though.

I doubt this one would be within your interest, but the only other forum I frequently visit is BZPower (the largest fansite for Bionicle, a popular Lego theme). Rules there are a bit more restrictive than what we have here (for example, no political discussion is allowed at all, to avoid potential arguments), but at least it's not as bad as it used to be in the past (I remember a time when members were not even allowed to mention YouTube by name). If you happen to be a Lego and Bionicle enthusiast, like myself, then you might be interested in taking a look at that site. If not, well, at least I answered the question on this topic.

Well, first of all: thanks for the suggestion. Truly appreciated.

You know? It is kind of weird, I have made this question in the other two forums I visit, and even when there were plenty of suggestions, I still can't find the right place. Maybe there is no right place.

PD: Even when I definitely am more comfortable with cartoons, let's see what you got in general. EVERY forum applies (as long as the mods are friendly).
