Is it just a GOF term or is it actually in LBT?
-
If I remember right, The Gang of Five is an official term for the five main characters. It may even be mentioned on the movies' official website (can't confirm that, I haven't gotten on it in at least three or four years).

It might be an official term. I think it's the name of the place where the dinosaurs give out sentences and making decisions, as seen in LBT7.
On the forum itself, The Rock Circle serves the same way, being a place where suggestions can be made towards the forum.
-
I think it may have appeared once or twice in the tv series also. I'm not sure though.
-
The terms are never actually brought up in any land before time movie (neither "Rock Circle" nor "Gang of Five"). Unless memory fails me Adam came up with the name "Gang of Five" when creating this forum as a successor to the older "Treestars" forum.
Rock Circle as a fanmade word (not sure who of us coined the term first) for the place first shown in LBT 7 and (as Kor pointed out) later on in the TV series.

Whatever happened to the Tree Stars forum? Did Littlefoot eat them all? :lol :lol

Huh, so it's an official name for our fantastic five? Would love to see it used in a future film! :smile

I forget what happened to them. I do recall it was a more primitive board where you didn't have to be registered to post. Unfortunately, this led to an incident in which a member was impersonated and...well let's just say it didn't go well and leave it at that. It was at least all fixed up and the damage reversed. This is based off what I remember being told, so I might be remembering wrong.
I've seen the old forum a few times. I don't remember too much else, except I do recall a topic where a member thought that the Plated Sharptooth from LBT5 was Chomper's uncle.

No it is not. For all I remember Adam coined the term.

Nope, that was the N54 land before time Forum (http://www.network54.com/Forum/26773) which is still "technically alive" with me keeping the spam out of a board that I consider kind of a historical source. ;) N54 is for all I know the oldest existing internet forum on the land before time.
Treestars was the direct predecessor of the Gang of Five and already shared many of its features and structures. I'm not sure if it was created in late 2002 already or only in 2003, but when the GOF was founded in fall 2004 it took over. Few of us were already active on the treestars forum. Adam, Nick, WR I think... not sure if there was anyone else there at the time already.
Another old land before time forum that I want to mention here "in memoriam" was created back in 2001 or 2002. It was Zaroff's land before time forum and was not founded by a member of the GOF. I think that one was the first with some structures comparable to the GOF, but I'm afraid it is gone.
Apart from that there were like two or three land before time groups at Yahoo back in 2001 or so. I had founded one of those, but none of them ever really took off.

Oh...ok, than! :oops

Oh sorry. I misread your original post. I thought you asked about the term "Gang of Five."
