Ok, what's a Star Day and what's a Hatch Day? Which comes first?
-
I think Hatch Day just refers to the day the a child hatched out of the egg. A specific, singular time that only happens once.
Star Day is the equivilant of birthday, celebrating the 'anniversary' of said hatching. This is the one that repeats throughout the dinosaur child's lifetime.
That's my take on it.

I was just thinking about that, funny enough!
That would seem to be a logical explanation, Darkououmon, but "hatch-day" has been used in a context to imply a birthday (Cera says something like "it feels like my hatch-day...it never seems to get any closer")...so maybe they can't make up their minds? I mean, they use the words both "dream" and "sleepstory", "rain" and "skywater", "rainbow face" and "sky colors", and so on.

I always thought that she was referring to how when they are all inside the egg, they are waiting for the day they'd come out of their shell, or waiting for the day their new siblings would hatch.

Could be two different names given to the same event. In the Great Valley they call it "Hatch Day", while for fast runners such as Ruby it's "Star Day". :)

^I concur with Coyote. The way the terms are used makes it plain that they both refer to birthday celebrations, perhaps with somewhat different traditions (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=12786) (at the very least, a leafeater one and a fast runner one).

The only difference is which writer was penning that episode.

Yeah, that's probably true. To my knowledge the hatching day was mentioned only once in the movies and it was long before Universal had any plans for a TV series.
