For years DinoData was part of my daily morning website check up routine. However, for several months I haven't been able to find it, and the URL of the website is now free for use.
Has the project just died out? Do any of you know what happened to it?

I don't know if I recall this website. I have found another site with a similar name. Not sure if you were thinking of this one.
http://dinodatabase.com/ (http://dinodatabase.com/)

Nope, the site I was talking about was this one:
DinoData Proxy (http://archive.is/9rqxC)
It can only be found on the internet archive, for some reason its domain is no longer active. The Paleontologist who was in charge of the site probably just quit. It was the biggest dinosaur database online and it published abstracts of the latest papers containing new finds or new theories.
It's sad to see it go away.

I tried looking at the website to look at the problem, but then I got the locked screen and remembered my school blocks everything (I'm in school right now) :lol . Try entering the website with https:// sometimes that works. Not http:// but https:// with the s XD.

Thanks for trying bestariana1girl, but that's not the issue, the site has been down for several months (perhaps years, I can't remember when it was the last time I saw it).
Since a lot of you guys are interested in dinosaurs apart from TLBT, I thought some of you might've known something about what happened to DinoData.

Oh well yes I love Dinosaurs, but I haven't heard of that site... I wish we could figure out the problem now because I'd love to check it out!
Unfortunately maybe they didn't want the site anymore? Maybe it was too expensive?

It is possible. From what I remember it was privately funded by a paleontologist. It took a long time to update and its design wasn't state of the art, but it was a nice hub for dinonews and other paleontological finds.

That's a shame :cry I would have loved to use it.

Well, maybe you could create your own. When I was a teenager I created a website called Paleo World about Therizinosauridae dinosaurs :p
It's pretty dated now but it's still online: Paleo World (http://paleoworldth.no.sapo.pt/paleo_world.htm)
