Topps kinda looks like he's singing more to me. For my caption-

Topps auditioned for a singing contest in the Great Valley, but he sang terribly,
so he was ousted from the competition.

He stepped on one of these ground pricklies. From someone who's gotten many of those in his skin, they could totally make Topsy yell out in pain like that!

We have lots of ones like that, only really small, which always stick to your clothes and bags and things. They always seem to get stuck in my apartment's carpet somehow, and I end up stepping on them barefoot.  :anger

Oh, I've seen many of those smaller ones. I grew up in New Mexico, so I think I've pretty much seen (and felt) it all when it comes to ground pricklies. I've had them in my clothes, my bag straps, my skin, my family dog's fur, you name it! And you wouldn't believe how many times my bike tires have gone flat because of the really long ones like in the picture.
