I was bored today, and since I love seeing pictures of Ducky and Petrie together, I thought I'd make one of my own! :)
-
Wow, this looks good! I like it. You can draw definitely very good! :)
I can't see any big mistakes. It looks overall good. Especially Petrie looks very like the original! :)
The only issue that I can see is Ducky's right arm, it looks a bit too long.
Apart from that it's a really cool picture! The background fits to the situation in my opinion.
-
That's quite impressive! I really like Petrie's pose and both expressions look good. I also cannot see any major mistakes and I agree with Leventell that Ducky's right arm looks a little long. Aside from that and the lines being a little rough it's a great drawing. Looking forward to seeing more if you decide on continuing making artwork! :DD
-
This is incredible!!! Good job!
(nice background, too!)
-
This is a really nice drawing! :smile Petrie and Ducky's expressions look very good and the duo's pose works as a whole. The anatomy is done quite nicely and the drawing has a cool and happy feeling to it. However, I don't know if it's because of the extremely detailed background picture but some of the characters' outlines seem abrupt or angular. I'm not really sure why but despite that, well done on this picture! :DD
-
What program did you make this with? it's simple but the lineart and colours are pretty spot on aside from the tiny little detail the others already mentioned ^^spike

I made it with Paint.Net. It's the only one I have.
-
Wow that is amazing work. :wow The only critique that I could offer is that some of the lining makes the characters look a bit distinct from the background, but that is a minor detail. I eagerly look forward to your future works. :)

Wow! With Paint.net! I also use it, and I never thought you can create such great works with it!
You must be really skilled at this!
-
I only use it for post-work on my scanned/photographed art :o
(maybe should just give drawing with it a try as well? :idea

I had this idea for a while, so here's Petrie trying not to be so scared as a thunderstorm keeps him awake in the middle of the night. Thunderstorms keep me awake, so why not see it happen in the LBT universe?
I guess you could say that I (sort of) tried with the lighting in my own way, by how the lightning is reflecting on Petrie's head.
Again, this was made entirely on Paint.Net. I hope U like it.
-
It looks really good! The only nitpick I have is that the ground looks a bit flat, but great work otherwise! :DD
-
I have to agree with zero-point. The illustration of Petrie is very well done, though unfortunately its juxtaposition with the background makes Petrie look a little flat. But this doesn't change the fact that this is a nicely done drawing. :yes
-
Great done! I like it!

Thanks, bud. And yeah, I do tend to struggle with juxtaposition. There's one thing I can say, though: I tried taking your advice on not making the character outlines so obvious like I had done on my previous DuckyxPetrie pic, so that it looked a little more smoother. Other than that, let's just say I'm a little lazy with shading effects.
BTW, what program do you use for artwork? Seeing that Paint.Net is obviously not the most effective but it's what I'm stuck with for the moment.
-
I really like Petrie's expression here and the feeling in the picture is really well done. While the flyer himself is nicely-drawn, I can only second what was already said about the outlines in this picture looking a bit jagged and the background makes this problem ever more profound. Aside from that, good job! :yes

I do not actually do art as I completely lack any talent for free-form drawing. I can draft a proper floorplan or architectural profile at a drafting desk or using Autocad, but I cannot do creative artwork for the life of me. This is why I am hesitant in reviewing artwork besides giving some of my general impressions of the artwork. I have heard good things about GIMP and Inkscape, however. Both of those programs are free.

Hmm, maybe I'll try one of those sometime.

I very much like the pose for Petrie here and on a whole he is drawn well. Him holding his snuggly stick is a nice touch too. Other people have already mentioned this in another way but the brighter the light source, the darker the shadow cast will be so the lightning would cast a fairly dark shadow. Here (https://www.ps4wallpapers.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/PS4Wallpapers.com_5a369c1e60da6_Screenshot_20171119-192634-1056x594.png) is an example of this from Dragon Ball. (that may be a bit of an exaggerated case but I think it gets the point across). Just a heads up for future reference.
Great job :DD
-
I think your attempt on the light effect from the lightning was a full success! I struggle a lot with hownto include light and shadow in my work and it gives me a lot of struggles and frustration trying to somehow figure it out.
Krita is another digital painting software. It's a bit confusing at first glance but it has many features to create really good-looking art :smile
When I bought my graphic tablet, it came with ArtRage Lite which I can also recommend. Simple to use a d still has a decent amount of useful features for painting in particular.

One of these days, I'll probably try those out. :) Thanks for the recommendations!

I haven't posted any art for months, so I thought I'd make this adorable piece. This was rather challenging for me to do due to my old laptop's mouse problem, but I defied those odds. :smile
-
It's great to see a new drawing from you after all these months! The pose here is quite sweet and Petrie's expression looks really nice. The atmosphere is excellent but Petrie's head is too big and his arm too thin, I'm afraid. But other than those points, well done with this picture! :yes
-
@Sovereign Thanks for the feedback. :) I did have a bit of a hard time getting it right because everything from the shoulders down was drawn freehand. I'll probably be going back and revising the head size, since that shouldn't be too hard to do. I'm not sure what I can do about his arms, though, other than I was simply going for a cute pose but left room for improvement. I'm glad you liked it, though. Thanks. :)

Okay. I decided to take this thing back to Paint.Net and revise Petrie's head so that it doesn't look too big like it did before. Thankfully, it only took me a few minutes to do since I'm very skilled with using layers. :smile Personally, I think he looks much better already! :D
-
This is very beautiful! I really like Petries facial expression.
To be honest, I was a bit amazed as I saw the shadows of Petries legs. It looks very good!
I especially like the treestars! They look so... round. ^^
I don't see any bad thing for me. I think it's well done!
-
Yep, it looks better now. :)
-
I really like this piece! The shade of sky blue used for the background really gives it this warm sunny glow that makes it appear like we're seeing a scene from the actual Great Valley itself. It's complimented by the cloud cover and the treestars in the foreground as well. :)
-
Hey it's good to see some more fanart from you. The smaller head size is a much better improvement and huge props for doing this with a mouse.
Hope to see you keep at it! :DD
-
Whoa, this is really nice! Possibly better than I could do digitally for sure and it's a really sweet scene :DD

I had wanted to find a picture of Petrie and his mother sharing an emotional bond for some time, but I could never really find one anywhere, so I made my own, based on the "mirror" cave scene from my 2018 fanfic, "The Hurting of Desire." :)petrie
-
This is very nice, Diddy! :)littlefoot I love how the background of the scene highlights the emotions of the two flyers as they have a heart-to-heart discussion. Likewise, the proportions of Petrie and Mama Flyer seem spot on, which is something that sometimes was an issue in the television series.
-
Good work! Amazing and very touching!
-
This scene is amazing. It's heartwarming to see a sad Petrie getting comfort from his mother. Amazing job! :)petrie
-
Nicely done Diddy! The back angle used for Petrie can be tough to get right so good job with that! :chompysmile
-
I know it's the ice, but I like the overall cool icy tone this picture has, as it makes Petrie's normally muted brown stand out in contrast to all the blue.
It does draw a lot of inspiration from the LBT12 nest scene, but I also like the opted pose of Mama Flyer pulling Petrie into a hug. The resigned look and Petrie's tear-stricken face sell the moment.
-
What a sweet scene, Diddy! I love the minimal use of outlines in your art style, it's just a really smooth, clean look. Great job! :)petrie
-
The raw emotion of Petrie as he is mentally breaking down is captured exceptionally! Petrie's Mother is wearing this sad but understanding facial expression which perfectly fits the scene too. Great work, Diddy! Feels like you've improved over the last two years after scrolling through the older posts again, yep yep yep :duckyhappy
-
This is a lovely drawing of Petrie and his mother. It's very emotional. The colors used are very good as well. Keep it up, Diddy! :D
-
I got cheeky with my latest livery on Gran Turismo Sport (PS4). :)petrie I thought perhaps I'd post it here since an LBT character is on the car.

Whoa!
It's super awesome!!!
Is that some kind of custom colorization of sports car in that video game? Is that your work?

Thanks! And yes, it's my work. I couldn't figure out how to properly upload a decal to GT Sport, so I made Petrie out of the game's generic shapes and blended them together. It took 45 layers on each side of the car.
-
Surprise! :Dducky :)petrie I just suddenly felt in an artistic mood and thought it'd be nice to bring in some holiday cheer! Happy holidays!

And yes, those are the necklaces from my Secret Love story. I even went as far as to put in the childishly-created details! :ducky :petrieooohh
-
Very nice Diddy! Petrie doesn't seem to happy about his Reindeerification :bestsharptooth
-
Awww! This is lovely, Diddy! Great job :wub
-
Aww
Nice heartwarming scene! ^^
Great job!!!

It's been forever since I lasted posted some art here. This may have mostly been 3D model posing with an LBT character later painted in the foreground, but I'm counting it anyway because it's an LBT character!
So, here it is. My favorite LBT character meets my namesake and all-time favorite fictional character! Me hope you like it! :)petrie
-
wow! I just went through all your work and it is so sweet to see Ducky and Pietrie together. You mastered the lbt style as well, and that custom car logo was pretty neat!
and nice to see that Peitrie and... I can't remember the name... donkie kong? Please correct me if i'm wrong, but nice to see they seem fond of eachother!

His name is Diddy Kong, by the way. He's Donkey Kong's sidekick (and supposedly his nephew).
And thanks! It's nice to have someone appreciate my gallery despite it being pretty small. :)petrie

These pictures are really cute! :)littlefoot
Well done! :petrieooohh

:)petrie "Hey, everyone! Meet me new flying friends!"
:littlefoot "Petrie sure has found some strange new friends."
:duckyhappy "Those friends look so amazing! Yep, yep, yep!"
:cerasus "Very strange if you ask me.
:spikenotamused "Hmm?"
Yep! Another piece of crossover artwork, only this time around we have characters from THREE different universes! Isn't diversity just wonderful? :)petrie
I wanted to make a wallpaper for my new Samsung phone, only to discover a harsh truth that Samsungs don't have scrollable wallpapers, so I was forced to make a vertical version, hence why two versions exist here.
