I was terrified that Spike would really leave with Tippy and his mom at first. I didn't want the cute little guy to leave the gang. I paused the movie and thought about it logically for a second and came to the conclusion that he wasn't really leaving. Usually, a character only leaves because the person who plays that character wants to leave. I realized that it would be no big deal if the voice of Spike was lost. He only grunts and stuff, which anyone can do. I wasn't afraid anymore. I knew that he couldn't leave. What about you?
BTW, I know that Spike's voice is special, just not to Spike. I know the guy who plays Spike also played Tickles and Mo and maybe some other characters. I really wouldn't know who else that guy plays. I usually don't watch the end credits. I put in another LBT movie instead. :P:
Anyway, I would be really sad if he left.

No it didn't frighten me.

i dont really remember what i thought when i first saw the movie because it was quite a few years ago, but i remember that i was worried for a bit in lbt 10 that Littlefoot might actually leave, but my senses kicked back in and i realized that it was higghly unlikely that Littlefoot would leave
-
It did not frighten me a bit because I did not believe for the fraction of a second that Spike would indeed leave for good. If he ever did though it would be a real blow. I am really fond of Spike. He doesn't need to talk to get many messages accross.

I was very afraid that Spike would leave the gang, his family and the Great Valley itself. Well, he'd rather play with Tippy 'cause they're from the same species, besides, Spike was feeling alone without other "Spiketails" to play with. So I was really afraid Spike would definitely leave, and that was because of Ducky, is she weren't so mad at Spike, he wouldn't decided to leave the Great Valley. Come to think better about it, it was Cera's fault :mad. Ducky is a nice, sweet-like-chocolate girl, but it was Cera's words which transform Ducky's way to be, which caused to be mad at Spike. Well, that made up my point.
-
I don't blame Cera. As she said so herself, all she did was tell Ducky to express her feelings. It was Ducky who misinterpreted it and took it too far, from what I recall.
-
No, because I actually saw 9-10 before I saw five so I had a feeling that there would be something that makes him come back to the gang.

Come to think it twice the better, you're right.

I'm kinda bothered how much they've started to make Spike seem like hes so possessed by food he doesn't care about the others or himself...

Okay. How does that relate to anything discussed here? Shouldn't that have gone under tha character discussion section? And I think the word you were looking for was obsessed.

I was justifying why I wasn't scared of him leaving, it was almost "good riddance" to me =\ =/
-
Oh. I see. Sorry. I wasn't offended or anything.

There was a time when I had completely stopped watching LBT. I had completely stopped at 6 and didn't pick up again until 11. Therefore, I had missed 7-10 the whole way. I eventually picked up 8 when I went searching for the movies. I held quite a review with it.
Also, with me already seen 9 and 10, and thanks to a fanfic, I already knew Spike was going to leave in 8 but return later in the same movie. So yeah, it was spoiled for me. -_-
So in the end, I wasn't frightened only because I was spoiled. :P:
-
I only saw LBT 8 after watching lbt 9 and 10. Actually I kind of quit lbt after lbt 7, and only picked it up after 10. But even if I hadn't it still wouldn't frighten me since Spike is a main character, and no matter what happens he would never leave, it's simple common sense.

Not a chance on the Smoking mountains!!!!
When I first watched LBT 8 I just knew deep down he was going to come back.....it just wouldn't be the GOF with out him!

yea it would :p F would just stand for four, not five :P:

At first, i was frightened. But then Ducky left to find him and that ended my fear.
-
There wasn't a doubt in my mind that the powers that be wouldn't dare pull such a drastic maneuver as that.
EDIT: Lol, bad typo. :lol
-
I felt sort of two ways. I had not seen the movies after this one before I saw this one. Part of me was assuming the higher ups would never allow such a change and something, perhaps cheesy, would bring Spike back somehow. Part of me was thinking, if they do have him leave, that would be quite original of an idea and unexpected.
-
What? No, course not! For a second I thought you actually meant something scary!
-
I was somewhat uneasy, to be honest. In spite of expecting him to return. I can empathise with LBT characters. That's why I love the series so much.
-
I can't answer to this. I saw a song from XII before watching VIII, and... Spike was there so... I couldn't have been frightened. But I saw a video of Family and it stated that's Spike was about to leave. I wasn't frightened, but it sure made me curious! :lol

I never thought Spike was going to leave, simply because it would have meant no more LBT sequels (unless the one right after that involved Spike somehow in the valley once more) since the directors would have thought the kids wouldn't want to watch LBT with one character missing. They enjoyed the "gang of five" starting with the original, not the "gang of four".
