which guest character would you like to reappear the most? What about the least?
I would like to have Shorty reappear the most. I would definently not like it if Dill reappeared. She was so mean.
What about you?
-
Tie between Pterano and the bullies for most wanted.
Can't really think of any I wouldn't want back.
-
Mo the most and Itchy the least. That bird tried to cut off Ali's head for crying out loud! :(
-
Either Pterano or the bullies, as TheNumberOneShmuck said.
As for the person I don't want to return...I don't know. I never really hated any of the characters.
-
As always I'm having a very hard time with superlatives. I cannot name one single character whose return I would welcome most of all. Having not yet seen the returns of Ali and Doc in the TV series I cannot say anything about those returns either. A good comeback of Ali would certainly be great. Pterano too is a character of great potential. Not quite as potential but still quite adequate for a return are Hyp, Nod, and Mutt, and Mr. Thicknose.
I guess may vote for the character I would not want to return is somewhat easier. While Ichty and Dill still have some interesting elements (two characters despising each other but also being dependant on each other, no clear domination in the pair of villains (certainly not as clear as in case of Ozzy and Strut), a physical disability of a villain) I don't see anything interesting introduced to the series by the character Tippy from LBT 8. As Tails quotes me in his signature, I really think he comes accross like a dinosaur shaped Teletubby! Everything from his name, to his way of talking and his strange color seem to aim in that direction. He didn't do or say anything of significance while there would have been a chance to make so much more of a character Spike could closely relate to without making that character silly. I really don't think Tippy is necessary for LBT.
-
I want the bullies, Pterano to retorn too!
I don't like to come back these ones: Sierra and Rinkus. They were really mean and they'd do anything to take over the world.
-
Of course, I'd like Pterano back. I'd really like to see him have major change of heart and start telling REAL stories about life in the Mysteryous Beyond (but let's hope he doesn't exagurate sometimes :lol ). The one I want to see back the least....errr...I havn't seen the movies in a really long time, so I can't decide.

want to return
pterano,ali
Don't want to return
Ozzy

Two characters that have seemed to have disappeared off of the face of the Great Valley: Dana and Dinah. What in Davey Jones' locker became of them?! Did they get eaten by a sharptooth without us knowing?!?! How could two characters like that just disappear?!?!?! They're Cera's nephews for crying out loud!!! They can't just go POOF!!!!!
As for a character I wouldn't like to see back... hmm... can't really think of one.
-
You bet I second that one Manny Cav! :yes
Plus it would be interesting to get some more general information on Dinah and Dana. Personally I'm not convinced that they are indeed consanguineous of Cera. This would require some other relatives of Cera in the Valley, an older brother or sister or the like; in any case a relative too important to be ignored when Tria joined the family. Another point supporting the idea that perhaps Dinah and Dana are adobted rather than directly related to Cera are their different colors (different from any of Cera's sibilings we saw in the original movie) and the fact that they sport three horns already while considerably older Cera still sports only one. These inconsistancies can most likely be explained by indifference on the part of the producers, but if we are looking for an explanation which Cera might give if she was asked an adoption is possible.
From what I have seen from her so far Tricia doesn't seem to be as witty as Dinah and Dana.
-
pterano and ali would be my favorites and...ummm...i don't really have a least favorite either.
-
Hmm...maybe Ali, Pterano and Guido I want to return.
The least favourite...can't really say. =/
-
Well, I've always been the most fond of Chomper and Ali, and they have both reappeared, so I guess my wish is fulfilled.
Hmm. The ones I'd want to reappear the least would be the rainbow Heads (dear God, they were annoying Mulder and Scully wannabes).
-
Two characters I wouldn't mind not seeing again are Ozzy and Strut from LBT 2. They shouldn't even be around at this point (and thank the stars they aren't).
-
What was so bad about Ozzy and Strut? They were kind of the "classical" pair of one real villain and one foolish sidekick. I do thing there is some potential in them though. They clearly have some villainous traits beyond the mere wish to eat and survive.
-
If they somehow survived the sharptooth attack, then it would be possible... but unlikely. I doubt we'll see of them again, but if we do, then that's the only thing we can assume.
-
I'd have to go with Manny Cav on this one as far as their survival is concerned. I wouldn't mind if they reappeared, but Ozie was such a grudge holder, that if they survived, we'd have heard from them again by now.
-
I'm not so sure about both points. As for the eggeaters chances of survival LBT dinosaurs in general seem to be more likely to escape than to be caught when chased by sharpteeth. Ozzy and Strut are agile and in the rugged terrain of the Mysterious Beyond they probably had a good chance to shake of Chomper's parents. With the Big Wall being closed behind them and possibly a greater degree of vigilance on the part of the Valley dinosaurs in the aftermath of the two sharpteeth's entering of the Valley Ozzy and Strut may not have had the chance to return no matter how much grudge they held. While they are certainly grudgeholders they are also cowards. If they had the choice between taking a risk for their revenge and taking a save path, I daresay they would rather take the save path and hope for a chance of a riskfree revenge.
There may have been a guest appearance of Ozzy and Strut in LBT 4, when that flock of Struthiomimuses rushed past to jump into the river for whatever reason. The first two of them looked very much like Ozzy and Strut, though it wouldn't make any sense not to see any reaction on their part at all upon seeing Littlefoot and the other.
I consider Ozzy and Strut one of the more interesting couple of villains and would not object to seeing them again.
-
Hmm. I see your point, Malte. Still, if the bully trio, Littlefoot, and the entire adult population of the Great Valley were able to get in and out of the valley in LBT3, and since Ali's herd were able to get into the valley in LBT4, I'm sure that Scrut and Ozie should have easily been able to get back in after escaping Chomper's parents. You are right about them being cowards, though. After having half a mountain practically fall on them, survive multiple falls off a cliff, as well as several other various attempts on thei lives, I wouldn't go back to try my hand at revenge again, either. Too hazardous for my health. :lol
I guess there's no way to conclude this "mystery", really. I guess all that can be done is you will believe what you will and I will think what I think, 'cause the only way to really resolve it is if their corpses either turn up or if they reappear.
-
^^Unless of course we end up having Chomper's parents say something like, "Oh yeah, those two were delicious!" Or something like that. :D
Of course, imagine the look on the GOF's faces.
Hey Malte, have you seen LBT 12 yet? If so, what's your opinion on Guido? :)
-
Unless of course we end up having Chomper's parents say something like, "Oh yeah, those two were delicious!" Or something like that
Ha! That would be pretty good. They should seriously do that! I do think that they're dead though. That's just my personal opinion based on the above arguments and I don't wanna repeat what's already been said. ;)
-
Leaving aside the likelihood or unlikeliness of Ozzy's and Strut's escape, what do you think of them just on the basis of their characters. Do you think that they could make a meaningful reappearance in a land before time story?
Hey Malte, have you seen LBT 12 yet? If so, what's your opinion on Guido?
I did watch LBT 12 and posted a long review in the respective thread (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=1083.60). On Guido I wrote:
Guido is a character rather different from those we’ve seen so far. He does follow the “tradition” of keeping many new character mysterious (as in case of Doc and the rainbowfaces). We never learn about how he really got to the Great Valley. It is very likely that he was sleepwalking / -flying and ended up in the Great Valley, but why didn’t he remember anything at all? And what about his family? Wouldn’t they look for him? Or did perhaps their fate (assuming that they were killed by predators or the like) cause a shock and Guido’s apparent amnesia? The voice of Guido was a little difficult to get used to as far as I’m concerned. His way of talking was interesting though. Did you realize he told all of Petrie’s siblings in a most uncontroversial manner that they were buttheads?
Guido was certainly more interesting than the other new character which LBT 12 provided, Tricia.
One other point of interest about Guido is, that he is the definite proof that creatures who eat other creatures are not generally "prohibited" in the Great Valley. In one scene we saw Guido eat a worm and while I think there were some disgusted looks nobody "intervened" on behalf of the worm.
I don't have any real objections against a return of Guido, but it would be good to have him return in a movie better than LBT 12 (an LBT movie which wasn't exactly bad, but didn't reach what I would like to call "LBT standarts" either). Do you have any concrete thoughts for a return of Guido? Which role he could play etc.?
-
For a return I prefer Chomper Ali Ozzy and Strut (those two are very funny ones)

As much as I hate Ozzy and dislike Strut, (I don't hate Strut, but I don't like him either. Let's just say he pushed it with his request of what to do to Littlefoot.) I would like them to return.
To be fully honest, I do hate Ozzy, but he's a guy I enjoy hating. There's reasons I hate him enough to want to see him die, yes, but he's quite a good villian.
Strut I feel can be just as evil, maybe even more, when he wants to be, but he has a kinder side. It is one I think could be used nicely in a reappearance of him and his brother.
So, as long as they play the villian, I'd welcome a return. :)
As for Guido, well, I must admit that I welcomed him more than Tricia. There was something different about Guido that I couldn't put my finger on. Not even at this point can I figure out what my true opinion is on this guy. I do find him quite silly, which did make LBT 12 even more welcome.
The only real thing I want out of Guido at this moment, is to NOT have him and Petrie do a duet together. They were just horrible together, even though I do have alot of respect for them making a mockery out of what is arguibly the worst LBT TV Series song around. ;)
So, I just really don't have a full opinion on Guido, yet. Sorry. :)
-
Did you realize he told all of Petrie’s siblings in a most uncontroversial manner that they were buttheads?
Hahaha, yeah. It's still beyond me why he would do that.
-
What was so bad about Ozzy and Strut? They were kind of the "classical" pair of one real villain and one foolish sidekick.
Recently, I've been thinking of them as Pinky and the Brain...I mean, Strut sounds like Pinky and Ozzy's voice slightly reminds me of a less 'try to take over the world' voice, but makes me think of Brain...
Okay, so I'd like to extend my list: Pterano, Dina, and Dana (gosh, those two were adorable ^____^). Least would probobly be Rinkus and Sierra (they were more of the villains in 7). Personally, I'd like to see Swooper in one of the movies :lol ! Oh I've got to include him in my fanfic
-
Most guest characters could be interesting and bring something new if they were brought back in a movie with a less silly plot. Though certain characters do fit certain types of plots better then others.
-
I can't put my finger on just one character to like or dislike.
I would like to see the bullies return after five or ten years, when the gang has grown a bit. :)
-
I would REALLY want Chomper to reappear. He seems so integral to the series
Ozzie and Strut. I do want them to reappear. They were hilarious (especially Strut.)
I wouldn't mind if Ithcy and Dil were to reappear (As long as they don't sing "Who Needs You" again. That song was REALLY an "ouch" moment for me. :x)
Sierra/Rinkus. Hmm. This is tough. As much as I think Sierra is a sadistic jerk, he and Rinkus do have great potential to be the next villians.
The Sharptooth from the 1st LBT. I do want him to reappear, but he's dead (or is he?). This idea is explored in a fanfic that I'm currently in the planning stage of.
I can't think of any characters that do not deserve to reappear.
-
Hello:
Chomper, because I want to know how he met Ruby and how they both ended up in the Great Valley, I think that could be better explained in a movie perhaps, if they don't make Ruby a serie-only character.
Guido, this guy became a favourite of mine, mainly because he is quirky, and the funiest flyers I've seen since Flapper :^.^: .
Bron, but I am not too sure about him to reappear, we all know he will have more adventures with his son, but I don't see that happening soon, maybe later in Littlefoot's life.
There are many more characters, but I cannot remmeber all so I cannot really tell more.
-
well i can't say chomper, because he's in the series.
i would like to see ali come back more often. honestly, i ddn't really like how she was portrayed in the tv episode. she hadn't seen littlefoot and cera in so long, and the first thing she doe is criticize them for being jealous? that's not the ali i remember.
i really didn't like ichy or dill, so i wouldn't be heartbroken if they didn't return.
-
I'd like to see Ducky and her siblings get themselves a movie. Petrie and his brothers/sisters recieved both a movie and a TV episode, but Ducky's siblings have from the start been little more than background fillers (at least the ones her age are, the batch born in LBT #2 haven't even been that).
As for characters I don't want to see again, the yellow-bellies take the cake. The mute one on his own would be tolerable, but any or all of the others were just too rediculous to grace the screen a second time.

AMEN TO THAT!!!
-
The closest Ducky & her siblings got was the 8th movie, it seems.
-
i like that whole idea!
-
Favorites:
- Ali
- Shorty
- Guido
- Ruby
- Chomper
I don't have any non-favorite reappearances.
-
Favorite guest character reappearance: Guido :smile!
Least favorite guest character reappearance: Ali :rolleyes.
Uh, as a side note, I don't believe the Yellowbellies made a reappearance. They were only featured in LBT XIII .

Oh, I thought it meant list who'd you want to appear again. :oops
