Title: The Future of the Franchise
Post by: Sapphirre98 on May 19, 2025, 02:33:52 PM
I have often thought about writing a script for a new film, bringing it back towards the direction of Bluth's original while keeping the timeline of the whole series intact. What are everyone's thoughts on the likelihood that any new content may be greenlit in the future, considering the failure of 14? It is a dream of mine to create a continuation, but that dream is most certainly of the pipe variety and I just want to see if anyone else has thoughts regarding the future.

I personally don't think we will ever see anything new unless it is a straight up reboot, but hey. One can hope.

With every year, I more think they will try to make a reboot of some sort.

I dunno if it will be for better or for the worst.

The 14th was made in order to piggyback on the renewed interest in dinosaurs caused by the release of the Jurassic Park reboot. If we're gonna get another, it'll have to be if some other release triggers a dinosaur craze in the general public again, and odds are decently good they'll blow the mothballs off LBT again rather than start something new since modern studios are allergic to new IPs

I think the most likely scenario is we'll get a live action remake of the first film. I mean, we all know it's going to happen eventually.

Same thing. I also thought that remake will be in 3D.

I'm not so sure about that. The Jurassic franchise at this point has become more successful and popular than LBT ever was so Universal are likely going to keep milking that instead, even if the main stream interest in Dinosaurs does increase again. Like I said, we'll likely get a remake of the original and that'll probably be about it.
