'Jurrasic Park 4' First Draft Of Script Completed
[Wednesday, July 16th, 2003]
Kathleen Kennedy a producer of the Jurassic Park movies talked to SCI FI Wire about Jurassic Park 4, where she revealed that the first draft of the script has been completed by novelist William Monahan,
She also says that the movie will no longer be on an island like the previous movies. "Let's just say it takes place someplace else," she said. "It will not be green. We will not go back to the jungle."
There is no director currently attached to the project. Steven Spielberg and Kennedy will act as producers, with plans for a 2005 release.
Plot Summary for
Jurassic Park IV (2006)
After the destruction of Isla Sorna John Hammond thinks that the chaos is over, but just as things start to settle down suddenly there are numerous reports of entire fishing boats disappearing off the coast of Costa Rica, worried he secretly comes forward with information that he illegally bred dinosaurs on a third and fourth island and was planning to build a second park for aquatic animals on a fifth island, so he sends 2 teams to observe the islands to see if the dinosaurs are getting off the islands, after he finds out that two children accompanied there parents on the trip he and a third team to go after the children, not knowing that the two teams have been victims of numerous dinosaur attacks that left one 19 year old boy and the 2 children sole survivors, Hammond searches the surrounding waters while the children try to survive on one of the dinosaur infested islands.

Hmm...doesnt souind too bad. If there is gonna be a new Jurassic park...it's definitely gotta be better than the last 2 sequels. Didn't enjoy either of them. The original was immense and I loved it (especially the soundtrack) but #4's got a long way to make up for the last few follow-ups

I guess I wouldn't care one way or another if they make another sequel, or if the series is over. I've seen films that critics like and IMO, they're terrible, so it's very hard to sell me on a sequel. I read JPIII wasn't too bad, so I forked over the money to go see it and wished I hadn't afterwards. -_-

JPIII was Ok, but nothing great compared to the original. The bar has been lowered for JP4, I'll go see it if I hear it's good.

The original was awesome, the second was somewhat interesting, and the third was a little less, except for a few scenes, which were good.

I read that, due to the daggone Writers' Strike, the film will be released in 2009 instead of 2008 :angry:. I also read it has something to do with the cannister of dino embryos that deadweight Dennis lost in the original :rolleyes:. I hope it's good. I enjoyed JP 1 and 2 but, as a diehard JP fan, the third sequel was a disappointment -_-. JP will never compare to LBT but I love the series anyway :yes.

Just found from one of the admins at Jurassic Park Wiki that Universal's website says Jurassic Park IV is not happening. :( :cry Wikipedia (with references) said it was coming out in 2012 or 2013, guess not.

I'll keep this short. There won't be a JP4, everyone's decided that its best to leave the series alone, in respect to Michael Chrichton(the author of the books).

Seems there's still talk of it. There hasn't been anything conclusive yet on whether or not they'll make it. I did some searches online and found nothing from Universal saying for certain that there'll be no JP4.

Great news, folks. Spielberg just recently announced JP4 could happen in two or three years. Glad to hear he's going through with it. I hope he's taken plenty of time to make it better than JPIII. I liked one and two, but not three.

Agreed. The only good thing about number 3 in my opinion was the Spinosaurus. He kicked ass.

That and the velociraptors. I liked how they were given a different role in this movie, how they only wanted their eggs back and weren't really that interested in hunting the humans.

I happen to like Jurassic Park.
Besides, it's not like making a new one is the end of the world. If you don't like JP, then just don't watch it.
I don't like movies like Final Destination and Saw, but I don't complain when they make new movies.
