Its called a Genie Box. Or a Wishing Box for better understanding. Very old and its been in my possession for about a week now.
It was gifted to me by a trusted friend who shares my enthusiasm in the hobby (as I mentioned in my introduction thread, I collect relics as well as coins)
this box is something of a wonder... And its also a bit well.... paranormal.
I'm not sure how many of you share the fascination of ghosts and spirits, but this box is pretty darn active.
Things have happened in this past week that havent normally happened in my apartment before. And none of these things happened until I placed this piece on my coffee table in my living room.
Lights have flickered, I've seen blue mists (or vapor) emit from the box or apear in various places in my living room. I've seen a blue spark or two near the box.
I'm not creeped by these things, but rather more fascinated and open to it, as I've always enjoyed the research of the unknown.
This box is believed to hold an actual genie.. as quoted from the original owner. And its been in the possession of many people before me, even rumored to had been in the grasps of certain royalty.
Wishes have been made and wishes have been granted.
this is a very prized possesion... wether these rumors are true or not.
thought you'd all be interested in hearing about it ^_^ (and so far, everyone here are the only people I've shared this with... )

Perhaps.. I've collected things that were supposedly of this nature before.. but this is the first time I've had anything active.
the flickering of the lights happened today, twice.. there was no storm outside or anything.. and moments before, I saw the blue spark while browsing these forums...
I'm willing to test the wishing theory, though I've yet to know what I want to wish for

I'm sure Mr. Genie, if he is in there, will make his presence all the more known
really though, that box makes a splended centerpiece! and I just might have a good story or two to tell visiting friends ^^

It is a nice looking box, and a very interesting history from what you have said.
