Not sure if this is the right place to post this but...
Tomorrow morning I'm departing for Denver. This one month vacation will take me from the warm climate of Puerto Rico to the chilly, snowy mountains of Denver!
Finally, after years of wishing and hoping I'm going to see actual snow! I'm so excited, can't wait!
Until then, see ya January 20!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
-
Have fun, we'll all miss you till you come back. Till then have fun and good luck. :yes
-
Well...have fun, be careful, and when you get to Denver and see snow...BUILD A SNOWMAN!!!!! THOSE ARE FUN!!!!!!
-
Denver, huh? Wherabouts will you be?
'Cause I live here... So if you're near Littleton, I might meet you around!
-
Maybe Keni can drop in for a visit even, or you 2 can meet somewhere.
-
Have a merry Christmas, and a happy new year, Keni!
It seems that Kor and landbeforetimelover will be the only ones around for Christmas, because I sure don't plan on being here. :DD
-
Just us 2? Imagine the fun we can have here with no admin on here. :lol :wow :DD :p :lol

I don't go anywhere for Christmas...never have. Everyone I know or would want to mingle with during the holidays live no more than 20 minutes away (or come to us). So there's at least one boss around. :p

That makes two of us, for basically the same reasons. B)

have fun with your non-denominational fourth-quarter cold-time goods-transfer scenario long-distance travels
-
Have fun in Denver Keni and don't forget to bring me some snow when you come back. "Que pases una feliz navidad" and do not forget that you owe me a visit. Take care in there amigo.
-
Hey, man! Have fun on your trip! Hope you have a blast!
-
Denver's a pretty nice place; my grandmother lives there. It isn't really in the mountians, but very close. We call her "Pike's Peak Grandma" because you get a PERFECT veiw of Pike's Peak from her house :)
-
Man I love Denver Colorado. I personally like to see the Rocky Mountains and the continental divide. :) :) :) :D :D :D :D :D :) :)
-
Well, I'm back! It feels so good to be home, but I had a great time in Denver with my uncle. I braved the cold and played in the snow XD
Denver was beautiful, especially the Rocky Mountains. I would love to go there again. I'm gonna miss that place, and my uncle too.

Welcome back Keni! :)
-
Hello:
Welcome back, it is nice that you had a great time in Denver and it is awesome that you are back at your home too :)
-
We are all glad you are back and have recovered.
-
WB :wave Depending on where you live, is it harder to breathe there? I've heard that football teams have a hard time adjusting to the altitude.
-
Sounds like that would give them an unfair home advantage.
-
Same as in case of some soccer teams from the higher regions of South America ;)
-
True, though I guess some folks do not care or think of such things.
-
Thanks everyone, I had a really good time. I'll eventually have pictures of the trip up on the boards :D
And no. Despite living in a low altitude place like Puerto Rico, I didn't find any difference in breathing up there in Denver.
-
Heya, welcome back. Looking to see ya around in the forum ;)
-
I guess some adapt faster then others.
-
I suppose Denver is not so high that lowlanders like us would really have to adapt to widely different conditions. I think Denver is about a mile above sea-level. This is of course something, but there are mountains popular for occasional skying holidays which are of comparable height. They wouldn't be that popular if that altitude was enough to send people panting and gasping. I think the towns in the Andes where people get such problems are considerably higher.
One of my professors once told that he almost collapsed when he left a plane which had landed in Bolivia's capital La Paz. That airport is at a height of 4058 meters.
