Those of you who are familiar with the Dinotopia books by James Gurney may have seen that in two of them are notes for melodies which I presume James Gurney composed. Out of interest I wrote the melodies down with NoteWorthy and created these midis which I want to share with you:
A song of Dinotopia (http://mitglied.lycos.de/malte2709/Dinotopia/Dinotopia%20-%20A%20song%20of%20Dinotopia.mid) This song is from "A land apart from time", Gurney's first Dinotopia book. The lyrics are:
Come forth in joy to greet the morn,
Ye shipwrecked trav'lers on our shores reborn.
Look up to see the rosy banners rise,
the dawn's new promise writ across the skys.
Breath deep,
Seek peace.
Join all and one the great parade,
In bright-hued feathers or in scales arrayed.
Life's spirit garbed in various attire,
Our is land's wardrobe does its soul inspire.
Breath deep,
Seek peace.
Come round the fountain, crystal spring,
Let ancient wisdom from its sources bring;
A drink to cool the waring and the strife,
the quiet waters of enduring life.
Breath deep,
Seek peace.

The second Dinotopia song is from Gurney's newest Dinotopia book, Journey to Chandara. It is titled Sail away (http://mitglied.lycos.de/malte2709/Dinotopia/Dinotopia%20-%20Sail%20away.mid) and the lyrics are:
We'll gather up our brethren,
we'll cast away our burdens,
we'll sail away and make our home in heaven.

The third of the Dinotopia songs is also from "Journey to Chandara". It is titled Garden Choral (http://mitglied.lycos.de/malte2709/Dinotopia/Dinotopia%20-%20Garden%20Chorale.mid). The lyrics are:
Take me down to see the garden,
Show me what the sun has made;
Every leaf is reaching upward,
Drinking light and casting shade
In a seed, a tree is hidden,
That a raindrop can release;
In an egg, an Ultrasaurus
Will become a masterpiece.
Join me on the winding pathway,
All we have is just this day;
Winter will be here tomorrow,
Summer's empire cannot stay.

I didn't know you even heard of dinotopia, let alone made music.
-
At first I thought you meant Trevor Jones' soundtrack to the miniseries. :p
I'm aware of at least the first song, having read the first book. The others...haven't seen before. I will listen to your music tonight. :)

Not my music. I only copied the notes and lyrics Gurney put in his books as I wanted to know what it would sound like.

Thanks for sharing.
