Well, I've got a Wii, a Nintendo DS and a GBA SP.

-
well i only put up the well know one <_<
I thought Atari 2600 and Sega Genesis were well known.
-
not anymore cos no one i know has ever heard of them beside's me
-
not anymore cos no one i know has ever heard of them beside's me
I don't believe that. The Sega Genesis was out after the original Nintendo, and was the "birthplace" of Sonic the Hedgehog. And Atari 2600 was one of the first successful gaming systems, and had the longest lifespan of any console. I find it hard to believe that not many people would have heard of these systems.
-
well most people at my age know about the most advance one's like the wii or the xbox 360
-
How do you know?
-
well nearly all of my mate's have a xbox 360 or a wii
-
I don't really think that means that most people your age don't know what Atari 2600 or Sega Genesis are. If Nintendo is still well known, I don't see why Sega Genesis and Atari would not be. No offense or anything.
-
we there old to my generasion
-
I know that. But it doesn't seem to be proof that Atari and Genesis are no longer well-known, in my opinion.
-
yeah but most people under 15 have never heard of it
-
yeah but most people under 15 have never heard of it
What makes you certain?
-
well my mate's, when i talk to them about it thay've never hear of it and when thay have thay all think it's suck's
-
That doesn't mean that most people haven't heard of Genesis or Atari. It just means your friends haven't heard of them.
-
want your mean like the whole of dorcan school have never heard of it
-
I don't know how it there, but almost anyone here, in Russia, who i know, knows what Sega Genesis("Megadrive") and Atari Means. I, myself, have:
Genesis, PS one... And that all. :)
-
want your mean like the whole of dorcan school have never heard of it
I still don't think that's proof that most people your age don't know. I mean, Nintendo is older than Sega Genesis. If people your age heard of Nintendo, I don't see why they wouldn't have heard about Sega Genesis.
-
yeah but sega's dead the only think that thay make that's there's is sonic most people think he suck
-
mcr mad, you really think, that most peoples thinks that Sonic sucks? You know, i'm a member of the russian Sonic-fans club, and there is a hundreds of peoples there.
Althrough i dislike the way Sega treat Sonic label now... -_-
-
yeah but sega's dead the only think that thay make that's there's is sonic most people think he suck
Most people think Sonic sucks? I seriously doubt that. Sonic is still one of the most popular characters out there. If most people thought he sucked, then why are there still Sonic merchandise being produced?
And so what if Sega Genesis is dead? So is Nintendo Entertainment System, but people still know about that. And that's even older than Sega Genesis.
I'm sorry, but I don't really believe your statements of Sega Genesis and Atari not being well-known anymore because it seems that you are basing these assumptions on just what you hear from your friends and the school.
-
yeah but sega's dead the only think that thay make that's there's is sonic most people think he suck
Most people think Sonic sucks? I'm sorry but I have to facepalm at that statement. Sonic the Hedgehog is a gaming icon and one of the most popular videogame characters. He's practicaly Mario's rival for pete's sakes. His series is a best seller and he was THE most requestes third party character for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
And SEGA is far from being dead. Not all their games are great but they make some very good games as well (NiGHTS, Shenmue, Virtual Fighter, etc.)
-
Sonic kicks @$$! I don't like it when people insult the blue hedgehog of awesomeness.
As of now, I have nothing. But I had an N64, a Gamecube, a GBA, and a GB.
-
he's a f###### blue hedgehog what is cool about that, now master cheif is a real game hero and marcus fenix from gears of war, sonic's nothing compard to them.
yeah he's realy big <_< sonic game's now are for kid's unless there from like the 80s or the 90s
-

Dude... you might hate Sonic, but does that mean everyone else has to? I think you should try to respect others' opinions. There are people who love Sonic, and there's nothing wrong with that. If you believe Master Chief and Marcus Fenix are better, than that's fine. I respect that. But you should also respect the opinions of others who may see things differently.

You're starting to sound like a fanboy...
First off, watch your language around here, you can get banned if you're not careful.
Second, what's the problem if Sonic's a Hedgehog? It doesn't matter what he is, he's awesome with an impressive past of clashing succesfuly with Mario. He's the closest character who had given Mario a run for his money in the past.
And you can't even compare Master Chief and Marcus Fenix to Sonic, that's like comparing apple and oranges. They're nothing alike and you shouldn't even be comparing them. Those two aren't even as big and recognizable as Sonic is and I doubt they will ever be until they do something as huge and revolutionary as Sonic did during the SNES/Genesis era along with Mario.
And so what if Sonic's games are for kids? That's great! I'd rather choose that over the generic shooting fest like Halo and Gears of Wars (No offense, I think those games are great too).
-
i was'nt disrepecting there opinion im ok if people like sonic but sonic an't as good as it was like 15 year ago
-

It seemed like you were based on your last response. That kind of response could insult fans of Sonic here, and lead to a fight, which I am hoping to avoid.
-
i did'nt mean to i geuss i got a bit carryed away
-
Perhaps we should drop the subject before things get out of hand.
My brother is thinking of getting an X-Box 360, so perhaps soon I'll be able to add that to the list of consoles I have.
-
the 360 is amazing some game's you can only get on th 360 like dead rising, halo 3 and gears of war
-
My brother wants to get Halo 2 first, since he wants to play the games in order. We have the first Halo on PC. I do want to play Halo 3 because I hear the Multiplayer is awesome. But I guess I'll have to wait for that.
-
it amazing and the ending rock's
-
I currently have:
N64
GameCube
XBox360
Wii
GBC
GBA
DS
PC
Atari2600 (Still works apparently. :))
I used to have:
NES
Super NES
Sega Genesis (Gave it away once the controllers stopped working. :()
Game Boy
Never have gone for Playstation Games, though I have heard good things about them. Guess I'm just too much of a Nintendo fanboy to get them. :^.^:
-
Guess I have one of the least with a pc and a gba sp.
-
Well currently i have a Wii, DS Lite and PC and both my brothers have run off with the 64, Xbox 360 (never got around to beating mass effect :cry ), Gamecube (which i could care less, beacuse my Wii can play GCN games) and PS2. I also used to own a SNES and NES but we sold them a long time ago. As you can probably guess, i am a nintendo fan, and i rarely experienced any games that were not on a Nintendo console (except for playing sonic at my friends) for quite a long time because my parents never let us have more then 1 console. When one of my friends got an Xbox, i frequentley came over to play Halo and Halo 2 once it came out. Halo was the first game that i loved that wasn't on a Nintendo console. Then my brother got an PS2, and i was introduced to great games like GTA (though i had already played it before, this was the first time i could play it for long periods of time), Devil May Cry, God of War etc. By the time the Xbox 360 launched, i was bursting with exitement (though i am a Nintendo fan first and foremost, the Wii was still a long way off). I got to experience all those great games (Halo, Gears of War, Oblivion, to name a few). Finally, the Wii launched and i was finally able to experience all that Sonic goodness via the VC. Thats pretty much my whole gaming history in a nutshell.
-
Being a child of the 80s, I came up knowing a lot of game consoles way back when that most kids nowadays probably don't know. Commodore 64 anyone? :lol Anyway, for my console list:
Sega Master System <--- anyone remember those?!
Sega Megadrive (Genesis)
Sega Mega CD (used to have one)
Gameboy (Original and Colour)
GBA
DS
N64
PS1
PS2
PS3
Wii
Gamecube
PSP
A lot of my consoles are shared between me and my brother but we've never had any quarms in sharing them. The Wii was my first official console I bought with my own funding but I have no regrets in any of my owned machines! As you can probably tell, I was very much on the Sega side of the console battle of the 90s so I didn't really get into the Nintendo side of the gaming world til the N64 hits the shelves. Despite Sega's hardware department going under since the flop of the Saturn & Dreamcast (but we don't talk about those anymore LOL :P: ) I'm glad to see Sega are still making a name for themselves in the software areas :^.^:
-
That is quite a collection. Do they all still work?
-
I own the original Nintendo Nes, Super Nes, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo Wii, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, DS, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, the original Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, and a few older computer games (woldn't quite call them PC).
Well, techically, my older brother owned the original Nes and Sega before I did. He just passed them down to me. I do not and probably will never own anything X-Box or the PS3.
-
Game consoles
I have an 360 Elite, a dead xbox, a sega saturn and a dreamcast.
-
That is quite a collection. Do they all still work?
Yeah funnily enough. Although, I can't say I've played my retro consoles much lately since all my Megadrive stuff I now download for my Wii's Virtual Console. I won't get rid of them coz I loved playing them so much. And who knows, when I come to "memory lane" again, I might just wanna break them out again :^.^:
-
I can understand that. Plus with the Wii virtual console thing there is no need to unhook it, hook in console x, just to play game y. You can leave the Wii hooked up and play the game on it.
-
Bumpidy, bump, bump. XD Being the big gamer that I am I thought I'd post the consoles I have.

and a Wii
-
I have:

Yeah, well, I have been getting a few consoles a year for a long time now. I've been a game fan since I was four or five when I first got a NES for my birthday. Since then, video games have been kind of a past time for me. I enjoy breaking the rules of reality by doing things like telepoting, casting spells, summoning creatures, transforming, and so forth. I don't spend too much time on Earth if you catch my drift.
I suppose I may like that stuff too much, but it's just harmless fun for me. I don't go attacking people like I do in Street Fighter or anything. It's just a fun way to pass time- a lot of time. Later!
-
I have or have had every game console mentioned. I usually get them as gifts from family members who don't really know me or what I like (if they really knew me, the last thing they'd get me would be a game console). I typically just return any game console I get and get the cash to spend on computer stuff. I do have quite a number of the consoles mentioned above though. For instance, I got a PS2 around 6 months ago. Why did I wait so long to get one? Well, I got it as well as an XBOX in a computer trade. I don't get game systems or consciously want them. They just seem to come to me. :p
I don't mind having a PS2 even though it's "old" because I don't know what a PS3 is even like. I got a PS3 as a gift and returned it and bought an external hard drive instead. In a few years, I'm sure I'll get a PS3 in a trade or in a bargain so why spend hundreds of dollars for it now? I traded in my dual core 2.4ghz athlon desktop with 1gb of ram and a 200gb hard drive for a dual core 1.86ghz intel laptop with new battery, 2gb ram, and a 160gb hard drive AND an XBOX, PS2, and twenty games for each of them.
I have game crap coming out my you know what. I don't even know what half the stuff is. I'd say I get a new game console at least twice a month. I sell 'em if I already have one. I don't care about graphics PS3 and whatnot crap. All I know is Spyro rocks and it gives me something to do when I'm bored. I'm by no means a gamer, but I occasionally play games and I constantly get new game systems. Playing games is just to keep my mind off stuff for a minute while I try to contemplate what to do. Graphics, saving stuff, cheats....I don't have or want any part in that, but I do love to play games sometimes.
