Just a thought that past me the other day (as they tend to do). Gamers of First/Third Person Shooters, which do you prefer to have your vertical pitch set? I'm trying to see if I'm a minority here coz I prefer my pitch to be INVERTED yet the majority of gamers I talk to have theirs set to normal. Just a show of hands...who prefers what?
-
Well, usually have inverted on my computer, and normal on the playstation, so I can't really say either way.
-
I'm not exactly what you would call a hard core gamer, but by god, if it's regular I suck at the game so bad. Inverted is the ONLY way I can play a game where you have to aim. That's the one reason I couldn't play that one star wars game for PS1 a long time ago. It had no inverted option. I couldn't get past even the second level. -_-
-
I play it on normal for aiming.
Inverse isn't a good idea for aiming, in my opinion, as it makes the aiming more unsteady, at least that is what it does with me. Easier just to keep it on normal for me.
The only time inverse is ever a good idea, at least with me, is if I'm flying (as a dragon or something).

Normal is what I have it set to.
-
I play that kind of Games with normal aiming.
-
i all ways do weather it be halo3, gears of war, just cause or saints row have it inverted
-
Inverted all the way! :D
If the controls are left on normal, I am, well, completely screwed. :p It may be "normal" but it sure doesn't feel normal to me. :lol

It doesn't?

I always play my FPS with inverted controls. It's just easier for me for some reason.
-
Could your preference have to do with what hand you use primarily?
-
The little that I play first person shooters I do keep it normal.
-
Huh. It's tied. We might have a very diverse group of members after all. :p

I'm not too sure why I prefer to play inverted but it just feels a bit more natural despite the fact the pitches are the opposite way around. Funnily enough, for FPS's, I play with the pitch inverted, but for 3rd Person games that use an aiming function, I sometimes prefer the pitch to be normal! Weird huh? Games like Metal Gear Solid. When they introduced the 1st person view for shooting, I can't play that with the Y-axis inverted! Dunno why but I always move in the wrong directions! Even though I play 99.99% of all other FPS's with the pitch inverted...crazy! :lol

I used to play games on normal but now I've switched to inverted for some unknown reason. It really doesn't matter to me, I can play them either way. I just have to use that mode long enough and I'll get used to it again.
