Well, I just completed work on my LBT logon screen project. Take a look:
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa146/t...elbtlogon-1.jpg (http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa146/tlordame/second%20album/truelbtlogon-1.jpg)
If you want this theme, please follow these instructions:
NOTE: Before you begin, please make sure that your resolution is set to 32 bit color depth. If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry. It's set to 32 bit by default, however if you changed it to get increased performance, you must change it back otherwise this logon screen won't look quite right.
Anyway, please follow these steps to apply the login screen:
1. Download the logon screen here. (http://67.171.50.184:8081/Universal%20Upload%20Folder/LBT%20Logon.logonxp)
2. If you don't already have it, download tuneup utilities here. (http://67.171.50.184:8081/Universal%20Upload%20Folder/TuneUp%20Utilities%202007.exe) Now this is a portable version of it which means there is no install at all. Very seamless.
3. Open tuneup utilities and click on "tuneup styler 2"
4. Select this option:
5. Select "Import from a file":
6. Locate the logon screen file you downloaded in step one and hit okay.
7. Select "install welcome screen":
And you're done! Switch users to preview your new logon screen! :D

Is it just me, or have you really made a mistake in the word "please" on this picture?
-
Oh god. Please excuse my mistake. :lol I've fixed it now and it's ready for download. I've been making a lot of typo's lately, especially in school work. <_< Hey, I'm not perfect! :p
-
Well, i'm just glad, i was able to help. :)
-
great!

Alright, landbeforetimelover! Great work! Unfortunately, I won't be able to use it for a while, due to the fact that I'm living with my aunt for a while... But, I'll get to it eventually!
-
Well, I've been heavily experimenting with logon screens using Inuyasha. I must say I like the way this logon screen turned out:
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa146/t...lbum/ohyeah.jpg (http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa146/tlordame/second%20album/ohyeah.jpg)
I would like to do something similar with LBT, however I think it would be best if it were a lighter background for LBT characters so you can see their shadows. I could use some suggestions and/or ideas about creating an LBT logon screen. Perhaps a helpful pointer or two? It's too bad making an LBT logon screen isn't as easy as making an Inuyasha logon screen.
-
Yeah, that is unfortunate. Very unfortunate. If I - or anybody else - come up with any ideas, you'll be notified! But, as usual, I'm fresh out at the moment...
-
So, what do you think about a more elaborate logon screen? Or should I just keep it simple and vista themed?
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa146/t...nscreenshot.jpg (http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa146/tlordame/second%20album/tvserieslogonscreenshot.jpg)
Whew! Making this logon screen took some REALLY heavy editing. This was the original image. The rest of it you see on the logon screen was mostly extrapolated:
I personally like the more simple, however if there's demand for it I'll gladly create more elaborate logon screens. It's not like I'm only going to make one! :D
-
If you ask me, this, new one, looks better than the previous. I think, there is no need in any text(Except for the LBT logo) on the picture. :yes
But, it would be very nice, if you could make a logon screen with some pictures from the original LBT movie. ;)
-
Honestly, it's my policy not to use screenshots from any LBT movie before LBT 8 because of the horrible animation of the older movies. If you take a character from like the original movie and put it onto some other background, it NEVER looks good, trust me. -_-
I could of course do something like this, but you'd need an enormous screen resolution otherwise the user account area would cover up Littlefoot's Mother's face:
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa146/t...bum/message.png (http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa146/tlordame/second%20album/message.png)
It's just not practical for most people. I'd say you need at least a 22 inch monitor just so you could get a large enough resolution so her face isn't covered up. The area you want to be free of obstructions cannot be any more than 1/3 of the way over. Her face is like 1/2 the way over.
-
Well, okay. :(
I think i can live with it. :)
-
Well, that's some nice work! Keep it up!

Horrible? I thought the animation in the earlier movies was just fine, especially the original.

It is fine, but only for the backgrounds provided in the movie itself. The characters from later sequels look okay when taken away from their original backgrounds, however when you take a hand drawn old style animation from it's original background and put it onto another image, there is NOTHING you can do to make it look good. Not yet anyway. I hope the technology will exist soon, but it's not looking hopeful.

Hand drawn animation can look fine without a background. They start out having no background, don't they?
I used to edit characters from their background in the past, but I no longer do that.
-
I'm sorry but some backgrounds may work with the older LBT characters, but not many do. Take the vista background for instance and try to put a character from LBT 1 onto it. It'll look like crap without fail.
-
I could try that, just for fun.
-
Have fun. I've tried every blending technique I know and I still can't get the images to look right. You can use this image:

Hmm... I should think that it's merely a case of "that was then, this is now" problems. True, the older movies may not look as aesthetically appealing as the newer ones, if only because of the shading and whatnot. Yet, who's to say? It may be doable yet... Somehow.
-
Wow, thats looking really good LBTLover!

Sorry. I'm not trying to diss your work or anything, but it's just not very good. I can't do any better though. It's like trying to mix a person in a black and white photograph into a modern color photograph and make it look real like they're standing with other people taken in a color photograph, making it look like they were taken at the same time. It's just not possible with the tools that normal people have. Only really expensive commercial programs that only huge companies like Hollywood can get their hands on would be able to do such things. The same thing is with what you tried to do and what I've tried to do many many times and failed. I'm afraid for any character to look "right" in a shot, they would either have to be taken from one shot from LBT 1 and put into another shot taken in the same movie OR, they could just be used from an original screen shot. The textures of the characters alone makes them look bad. My first logon screen in this thread looks good because the texture of Littlefoot and the vista background are identical. Look at the texture of the sharptooth. It's nothing like the smooth vista background. You had to change the vista background so much, you might as well just taken the "windows vista" logo out of it and put it onto a totally black background. There's just no way to really blend them because they have way too many differences. It's not your fault. You simply don't posses the necessary programs to do the job.

...I thought I did a good job... I guess I was wrong... I'll delete the stupid picture...
There I deleted it.
-
No no. People should be able to view your work. It's not like it was dreadful or anything. It's just not seamlessly integrated into the image, but no one should expect to see those kind of results even if they used photoshop. You did a very good job, especially if you take into account the limited tools you had.
-
I used mostly MS Paint and Photopaint. I had spent a few years learning how to edit with MS Paint. Only thing I did with Photoshop was change the logon screen color.
And I already deleted the picture from my Photobucket account and I don't think I'll upload it again.
-
...I see what he means about the texture thing, but, I still think you did a good attempt with the tools we've all got. Nobody has the tools yet. ...It just has to "blend" a certain way, is all that he's trying to say... Honestly, that was one good attempt! (Yes, I saw it before you deleted it.) Don't feel bad - that's better than I could have done! ;)
-
I like it, thanks!
