Has anyone seen the show Avatar the Last Air Bender? I believe it's on nicktoons or something. I'm not totally sure. It is such a hard show to follow that after I saw it a couple times I just hauled off and downloaded all the one's I could find. I like this show because it's like anime except with no profanity and it typically has more light moments. Anyone watched it before?

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D
I love it even more than LBT (no offense) and I have seen every single episode of it.
I love it because it a mixture between different things, martial arts, different beliefs, different cultures that are in the real world, and it is only american anime show I can stand -_-'

I can't imagine loving any show more than I love LBT, but I suppose it's possible for some members here. :p Here's a nice Avatar image:

That is Avatar in the first season actually :) In the third season now, they look very different.
If you do watch the show in more detail, the show pretty much ages gracefully, because some of the characters are really innocent and such in the first season, and a little bit in the second season, but in the third season, PLEASE! The setting is very intense and some of the characters have almost lost their innocence.

I haven't seen book 3 yet. I'm still downloading it right now as a matter of fact. Can you tell me how many episodes are in book 3? I think they haven't finished the series yet, but I could be wrong.
-
I love the show. its way diffrent then the Anime you get from Japan, and it has a great story with great charactors. as we all know I am a huge Toph Fan-Boy. :D

First off...I've seen this show, I love this show and OMG...if I could really waterbend....I think my life would be complete! :DD
But this show is one of the better American made animes out there!
BTW landbeforetimelover currently they have only released up to chapter 15 of Book 3 Fire. The last four or five eps. will be broadcast in July. Just so you know. If you haven't found this website yet just click the link, they have every episode to date for download.

Thanks for the info. I already downloaded all the eps including eps 9-15 of book 3 just yesterday. I must say Zuko's character sure is dynamic! :D I love that character.
-
I love that show. :D It has action, love and it's funny.
The music and visual effects makes the scenes really dramatic. The Story is great too.
It's one of the few with a serious plot than other cartoons (not anime) nowadays.
I like seriousness. :P:

Honestly, if I could only bend one of the four elements, it would most certainly be air. It's just so flexible. I could certainly use it at gambling with those dice. :D I could become a millionaire overnight! :lol
BTW, just tried to download one of the avatar eps from that site and I would advise everyone to STAY AWAY!!! They require you to install Zango. What they don't tell you is that zango is nothing but a spyware program that delivers popups and crap right to your computer and the worst part is, they get past 99% of popup blockers.

alright...

If I could bend any element...it would have to be water! Its just so cool!

Yeah, you and me would have to have a bending battle...see which fighter wins. :D

My favorite anime to date :p Truly an amazing series

I think the creepiest episodes in Avatar were when the Gang goes to Ba Sing Se and they see how the government has complete control over EVERYONE, basically like 1984.
And when Katara learns to blood bend, that dark part of water bending.
Despite these episodes being creepy, they are truly valuable episodes because many tv shows and other movies in general tell the audience to see the characters in the black/white affect. However, Avatar tells the audience that everyone is capable of good as well as evil.
-
Bending the water in people's bodies? Yikes, that's harsh.
However, that's one thing I like about Avatar. They find imaginitive ways of using peoples powers, like the guy in the swamp who could bend the water in plants.
The show is actually called Avatar: The Legend of Aang in europe for some reason. Probably a conflict of copyrights.
It's a good series. I wish it was on more often so I could watch it properly.

i agree

This show airs like once a week. It really sucks. That's why I download. I'm not gonna catch this crap even if I try. There are A TON of avatar fans out there, despite the show being rated Y7(a lower rating than even the LBT TV series for some reason). This show is just as violent as some of the anime that's rated TV14 except for the fact that it doesn't show blood. Very bad rating if you ask me. I think this show should be rated at least PG.
-
I was never interested in this show.
-
I love Avatar! its a favorite of mine. I only have seen episodes from Books 1 and 2. My favorite characters are, well, the main cat: Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph.
-
My fav character has to be Zuko. He's just so dynamic. You haven't seen book 3 yet, so I won't spoil it for you. Let's just say I didn't like him very much before book 3.

He's one of my favorite characters also for that very same reason. Except I REALLY liked him even before the third season. :D
-
I like all the avatar characters, even though some of them are evil! :p
-
Wow. I just saw the last episode today and I must say it was great! It was a wonderful conclusion to the series. I'm only sad it's over now. :( I gotta find something new to watch........
-
It took me a while to see the entire series in reruns, but it was awesome to the end! I think I just became another Avatar fan.
I really like Toph's Earth & Metal bending ability, and Katara's Water bending really did come a long way since the first season. But my favorite character is Iroh, Zuko's uncle. He's got a suttle but very hilarious sense of humor.

Well this topic is pretty old but if any of you are still fans, hope you know they made a live-action movie of this show. Saw a preview for it yesterday. Buuuut, M. Night Shyamalan made it. Sorry. :x
-
I actually really really REALLY enjoy watching this show. It has such a serious tone to it, but then again it also throws in some humor every now and then. I absolutely LOVE the different martial arts styles infused with the element bending. I think it is so cool!. I love how everybody doesn't really fight in hand to hand combat, but they throw fire and air blasts and whatnot at each other. It's so dynamic!
-
I'm still an Avatar fan, but I don't think I'll be watching the series again for a while. I just watched them all again like 3 weeks ago. It's great to always have your favorite things stored on the computer. :D Screw watching stuff on TV.
-
TV isn't that great anymore anyway .

TV isn't that great anymore anyway rolleyes.gif.
Well that's true. It takes me forever to find something decent. I was so relieved when I saw Avatar was all right and was able to finally watch something. When I get my 28" monitor (I'm running a 16:9 21.5" at the moment), there REALLY won't be any reason for me to watch TV on the TV. My TV is only 32". :p

I've seen some episodes(15 or so). My opinion on the show: it's okay, but the plot is weak, and animation could be better.
