Title: The Princess and the Frog
Post by: Amaranthine on August 09, 2008, 07:50:34 PM
Alright, I don't know if anyone has heard about this before, but supposedly, there's going to be a disney movie out in 2009 called, "The Princess and the Frog". The princess's name is Tiana, and she's going to be the first black disney princess.

Well, that rumor, is actually true, and the best part is, it's going to be 2-D!

Check out the website here: http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/princessandthefrog/ (http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/princessandthefrog/)

Personally, I would like to see this. I want to see another 2-D feature from disney, because recently a lot of their 3-D movies (that's not made from pixar as well) aren't really that good.  -_-

  I-WANT-TO-SEE-IT  :bang !!!

I highly support the making of this movie.
1. It's 2-D (HURRAH! HURRAH! HURRAH!)
2. First African American princess (She should have been made a long time ago  <_< )
3. It's based on a rare fairy tale (I've seen it called "The Frog Princess)
4. It's in the 20's/Jazz Age  :P: . Finally something a little bit more modern!

Don't tell me you havn't heard "The Frog Prince" DX . OOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLD fairy tail. In that one, the princess loses her golden ball in a well and the frog retrieves it for her. She thanks him and brings him around and the entire time he asks for a kiss (Jean Bob  :wow !). In the end, she finally kisses him and POOF he becomes a prince. Then he reveals that for some particular reason, a witch (of course   ) cast a spell on him that turned him into a frog.

Hmm...I may actually have to go see this :^.^:.  I don't recall the last time I've seen a recent Disney flick as I don't feel as much meaning in them as I do the older films.  I like how the princess is African-American(like Ptyra, finally!) and CGI is not used in the film.

Hehe, love that character :D!

Yay, someone else who agrees with me.

Yus, Jean Bob is awesome! Even is cowardance is awesome! But he's still so sweet. I love the ending of the first movie when he thinks he sees himself in Prince form, but it's just some random French dude   !

Just as fair warning... If this ends up being an awful movie, I will be very depressed and no fun to talk to for a long, long time :p

I saw the movie today. It was so beautiful in every way! The animation, the music, the accuracy of the clothing for the time period, the accuracy of the culture, everything, it was just awesome!

I loved the theme and I LOVED the villain! I HIGHLY recommend this movie for anyone really. :D It really lifted up my mood when I watched it.

I'll have to look into this film as well.

BTW, I crack up whenever a preview comes on and it features the firefly character shouting, "Don't make me light my BUTT!" :lol

Well, I saw it. It was pretty impressive, although they could have gone a bit deeper into the characters' personalities.

I actually liked how Tiana's friend understood that Naveen was in love with Tiana and not her. It was quite unexpected for a spoiled rotten brat. Speaking of unexpected <Spoiler>'s death was really...woaah...even though it had been spoiled for me, it was still a little...eek D: .

And Mama Odie. I LOVE old people like that. And Juju was flat out cute  :lol . "JUJU, why didn't you tell me my gumbo was burnin'!?"

I went to see The Princess and the Frog last night and I thought it was an amazingly funny film!  About time Disney finally did something 2D again!  Every 30 seconds there was something to laugh at!  I really like how the movie was set in Louisiana during the roaring 20s, it was a very unique setting that hasn't been quite explored much in this medium.
