Being a senior in high school, I have to begin to think about college. I have already finished all my applications for schools, so now I am waiting on whether I get in. My schools I want to go to are:
Albright
Juniata
Susquehanna
Elizabethtown
Lycoming
Lebanon Valley
All schools in bold are ones that I have been accepted in!
-
Congradulations LBTFan13!
-
Hey that's really cool :) congradz
-
Congratulation mate, hope you'll like it
-
Sounds like you may need to do research into which one you want to go to. Good luck.
-
Congratulations LBTFan13! :yes
Which subjects are you going to study?
-
That is great! Good for you matey. :)
As Malte asked, what are you going to study?
-
Congrats! :D Is that where you wanted to go or is one of the others on the list more appealing?
-
Well all of them appealed to me, but my top three choices are Lebanon Valley, Albright, and Juniata.
I plan to study Digital Media, which consists of web design, animation, video production and effects, etc... So I am very excited that I got accepted there.
At the moment, I am still waiting on the other schools, but on the bright side I know that I have at least have one choice after I graduate.

Hello:
It is always good to have options. Good luck and success with the option will you finally choose.
-
I won't pretend to know anything about those schools in particular, but trust me, just having a college education is not enough. You want the best school possible. It's better to have less education at a better school than more education at a crap one. Do your research! :yes
-
You can do more research, like seeing if there are some examples of digital artwork from students who went to those schools. Maybe seeing if most of the folks who did digital artwork that you like tended to go to a particular school, ect. Which ones tend to get hired by places you may like to work for, even if it is just a dream type of place you want to work for.

Is this located in Lebanon, Pennsylvania by any chance? Or somewhere else? Just curious, that's all :p.
Congratulations on getting accepted, LBTFan13 :yes. College is an exciting new chapter of life you're entering. Film and animation, eh? Sounds like an interesting field of work. Hopefully you'll find what you're looking for :yes.

Well, I have one more year before college applications. I'm doing some college research right now, though. Congrats!
By the way, in college, you might want to bring some ramen. It's cheap and edible. And tasty.
-
Any other tips college folks and former college folks can give to Lbtfan13? That is if lbtfan13 likes getting tips.
-
I getting tips at all! Please if anybody has any other advice I would be glad to hear them!
I just received a phone call today from Albright! I've been accepted there as well! :D
-
Congradulations. The only tips I may have are common sense ones. Try to give yourself ample time to study, relax have fun. Also low cost foods you enjoy and that keep a while before they are prepaired. Set a budget for yourself.

If you're staying on-campus and need to keep snacks in your dorm, then I recommend lots of fruit, veggies, dairy, and anything else that won't put too much weight on ya. Many freshmen gain a crapload of weight their first year of college. Believe me, I'm not dissing junk food at all here as I can't stay away from sweets :lol. However, it is important to moderate junk food intake. Oh, and take time to exercise. Many universities have gyms and pools that are a walking distance away :yes. A balanced diet and exercise will keep your mind clearer, maintain your sanity and enable ya to focus more on your studies. Do ya like coffee? Highly recommended for getting through those 8 AM classes (I despise classes so early but don't have much of a choice as that's the only time certain classes are offered ). Have a rowdy roommate? Go to the library or ome place quiet to do your studies. If you're getting an apartment off-campus, then disregard that bit of advice. As far as classes are concerned, try not to take any more than twelve credit hours per semester, if you're intending to be a full-time student. It'll burn ya out quickly. One thing I've heard in "Jeepers Creepers": some folks like to dye men's boxers pink :lol. I don't know if this is true or not, so to be on the safe side, spare yourself the embarrassment and keep your laundry hidden or nearby or both. Do not forget to take time for yourself and do something yaike to do. If I'm not mistaken, you're in choir, right? I loved it and was in it for several years. Unfortunately, my university does not have a choir :(, but I still sing sometimes during free time, such as when I'm cleaning house :lol. Do whatever ya find to be a release. One more thing at this time: don't get out of touch with the GOF. Every member here is special and that includes ya ;). I hope this advice helps ya :yes.

I just got my acceptance letter from Susquehanna today! Although it doesn't have my major, I still really liked the campus, and it's a nice alternative!
-
Sounds like you have one to add to your options. Good luck with the list and going through them and picking your favorites.
-
Well since it's getting close to that time, I have finally made my decision. I am going to Lycoming College!
I really liked all the other schools, but the moment I left Lycoming after my overnight visit I felt like it was the perfect school for me. The students were very friendly and open to giving advice, the classes seemed very interesting, the food was really good, and overall the campus felt safe and was really nice.
My search is over. I am going somewhere :D
-
Congratulations! I know the feeling, when its done and over with there's nothing better. I got lucky, didn't have to choose a college since I got into my early decision choice but just having the whole process in general end is an amazing feeling.
P.S. College graduating class of 2013, don't we rule? :p
-
Congrads. I guess you'll enjoy the wild parties some colleges have. :smile
Good luck.
-
Congrats, LBTFan13 :yes! What will your major be, or are ya still undecided?
-
congrats. those 4 years will fly by quickly, be sure to enjoy them...
-
Wonderful. College is a Good way to Go Dude.
-
Awesome! :) Good luck in college :D
-
Congratulations :yes
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do university (lots of work, but also lots of recognition and work in subjects one is interested in).
