Want to join an adventure RPG that features magic, witchcraft, adventurous landscapes, travel, weapons, and car chases?
Okay, this is the thing:
Characters:
In this RP, we all play as modern world humans in a not to distant future.
Five of us will play as a group of 5 young people (teens, ideally orphans) who each will be having special powers (which we'll decide).
The rest of us will play as either friends and helpers of these five, as evil worshipers or members of an sinister organization. The evil worshipers will have the abillity to use witchcraft spells, and the organization will use weaponary. (we'll choose this aswell, but I can promise guns as well as really heavy arms).
World and time:
Earth, modern time. Year 2015. (Nevermind the topic title, it's just because it's a sequel to previous RP of mine...)
Plot
Five children are by cirumstances (that each of us playing them will have to make up themselves) send by authorities to a certain school for "children who got on the wrong track" (doesn't have to be thier fault).
They don't know eachother.
As the the story goes on, the kids discover that the reason the school is much more than just a school. Behind the scenes, there are evil plans in the making. People with most devil ambitions...
And they discover that they are special. That the real reason they was sent here was because of something completely different.
It was MEANT that they should meet. They are the five chosen ones. Chosen to fight mystic entities of great evil. What they don't know, is that this evil is already beginning to rise in another place. In a paralell world. These two worlds are bound togheter, like oxygen is to fire. And if one of the worlds dies... No tomorrow will come to the other aswell.
But this is unknown to these children.
First they have to discover their purpose.
But will they in time?
Hunted by evil worshipers, and a mighty organization, they must search for a way to enter the otherworld where the evil once was sealed long ago.
Time is running short...
But one thing is true...
The Power of Five must awaken again!

That's the plot. The RP will start with the five children arriving at an airport in Norway, the country where the school is located.
In the meantime, us playing the bad guys, might concentrate on devilish rituals and research (especially the organization, who are those guys who'll be well apprised.)
The RP will be set at the school, in other countries and in adventureous lands.
Battles will occur, puzzle solving, teamwork, death, injuries, chases of different kinds and magic. (I, Lillefot, will set up the rules once people have joined.
You may want to play as multiple characters, that is all fine.
This RP has a connection with the "Defenders of Great Valley" Role play, but notice that you DO NOT have to been playing in those to take part in this RPG.
(Once again, nevermind the topic title, it's just because it's a sequel to previous RP of mine...)

We know this chapter will be humans only, but are there certain character types you'd prefer to have, and certain types you'd prefer to not have? Just though I'd ask that so those interested would have a bit extra info to work with.

Here are a short summary of rules for this RP!
- NO powergaming! (Ex: I crush person X's character using my firespell/machine gun bla bla...)
-For those Five using Magic: Be limited. We're no magicians, only kids. Some of us haven't discovered our power yet. You might want to be dircreet to begin with.
-For those using ancient witchcraft: Feel free to come up with your own devilish witchcraft, but tell me first! But we shall also take it easy.
-SEARCH members and others using weaponary: Don't go Trigger Happy :lol

So as it looks, there's one place left for a five member. Maybe more, as everyone need to confirm their roles.
If anyone listed above doesn't confirm their roles within a certain time, I take that as a no, and set the role free.
We could use a few more organization members aswell as evil worshipers and friends.
We need atleast two - three in each cathegory. Except for the five, which need to be full.

I have a little request. There's one place left for a five member. Mumbling was orginaly going to have it, but she's not in this RP anymore.
Thing is, I'd like this last member to be a female. If no one's okay with that, I can do it myself.

It's okay. I made myself a girl character during the drive home from Stockholm today. I haven't been able to get in touch with Starfall, so if he's not in, you may take his role?

Starfall was supposed to controll a male character.
A group with just 5 males seem boring to me, hence the girl. (also in the novels this RP's partly based on)
I should got her covered.
Also, if you want to take over Starfall's place and play as a girl I suppose that's just fine?

Wow! Looks like this might be something in the end!
We have enough roles to start it now atleast, but if more wants to join, it's possible.
Everyone check the role list and see if it's correct to you.
And post your roles in the role topic when you can. Some roles are more or less importnant though, so they might not have to be that precise.
I'll gather up more material for the story now. Locations and such, with pictures etc. (as this is set in the world as we know it ;) )

That is, if you want them to appear later in the story, rather in the start.
I will do so with my "friend" character I think.
In addition; you might want to post the bio for that character when he first appears. See what I mean?

This place is called "Vorringsfossen" (foss means waterfall in Norweigan)
It's a popular tourist attraction and national park today. (I've been there)
It has a hotel at the top.

Hopefully, this gives a view how "it's built" NOT how it LOOKS. That's up to you and your imagination/fantasy. :)
Were the hotel lies, there's now a boarding school. It's a mix of modern and old buildings. Almost like a castle. The main building is the school, living quarters, and has a inner courtyard.
Second building is off limits. Mmm... mysterious! (SEARCH head building)
The Third building is used as a reserach facility.
There's a hidden staircase down to the gorge valley below.
A bridge goes over the gorge to the parking lot and helipad.
At the far end of picture two, you can see the damm.
That was (in the RP) built in 2011 as part of Norways waterpower. (The Norweigans build damms EVERYWHERE. Trust me.) This is one of the bigger damms, and is supposed to have a giant, man made lake behind it.
Because of this, the water flow in the waterfall is less in the RP than it is in the real world.

I've posted my last character profile in the Bio thread. (the ones not there I've choose to keep secret).
So right now it would seem that we have everything ready to start the RP.
If someone's not ready or haven't posted his/her character profile(s), then please tell me about it.
I'm going to write down some rules in this topic. They will appear in just a few posts from the top at the FIRST (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=4459)page of this topic! Be sure to check them, and tell if something's "wrong".
And I don't want to be strict. (and I dearly hope that I'm not) On the very contrary! I'd like you to be as free as possible. And writing these things and acting like some freaking school teacher or controlant is nothing I find fun. I want you to know that. I'm very open for suggestions and alike! :)

This is for everyone to read.
When you want to bring a new character into play, to avoid as much confusion as possible you first make sure that you follow the principles of this RPs character developmets.
If you're unsure, then PM the GM and I'll help you. That I promise.
As for powers, this should be clear by now.
It also seems that everyone's okay with their roles, which pleases me. :)
But the rules stands: The Five are magic users. Other characters uses weapons and witchcraft, two abillities that we don't see often, and I'm glad to provide it. Weapons are easy, but if you want to use witchcraft, come with suggestions and we'll discuss it. As I've said, I'm open for ideas. :)
This RP IS random. You CAN interact and do "almost" everything you want to I belive, but just make sure to follow the basic rules.
All I ask for is information, to avoid confusion. Not just for me but for everyone.
And I stress anyone who has opinions on this to tell me about it.
Maybe I shouldn't go GM afterall, but stick to fanfictions if I'm to limited?

No need to do any of that. Problems and misunderstandings may pop up in an rp. Better to step back, calmly talk things over, either here or via pm, whichever is best. Then when the discussions and understanding is done everyone can get back to having fun.
I think you are doing well. I'd suggest not to stop rping or gming, but discuss it as I mentioned in the previous paragraph. As for being nervous being a first time player or gm, you can always, if you want to talk to someone, pm someone who is very experienced and see if they'd mind talking over some things you are nervous or unsure about. Some folks you can talk to maybe, up to them if they have time or want to of course is maybe Threehorn, & Nick22, they seem to be very experienced in forum rp and gming things.

Okay, I shall make this clear once and for all, I should have done so long ago.
If someone doesn't play by the notes in this RP, that's someones problem. I'll do what I can do, I've made that promise. But if that isn't enough, then... well, tough luck. Go somewhere else.
There are other RPs out there which allow other things and events that this one does, so I'm not going to stand and feel guillty or bad for setting up the rules I have done.
This is how things are set, that's just the way it is. And I'm tired of having to repeat myself. If someone doesn't like that, someone should quit. Or join another RP that suit someones needs the better. That's what I would've done myself, if there weren't any solutions to the matter. Ofcourse, it's still very sad and boring to lose a player, I belive no GM wants that.
But I'm not messing things up any more, just because of one single matter.
All such matters should be discussed, and not interfeer with the gameplay.
It would seem though that atleast a majority are pleased with everything, which pleases me.
Therefor, it feels very sad to write something like this. :o

Gustav, you don't need to quit the RP ;) Everyone here really enjoys this rp, and you make a great GM. Trust me, accidents will happen, but that's how we learn for the future. It's like what Kor said. Step back and take a deep breath. Try calmly talking it over with whoever is making the mistake about the rp. I promise you it will be all right in the end. We're all here for you :D

I'm not in this chapter of the rp, but I do hope you do not quit the rp. Mistakes will happen. Just take a deep breath and relax. Talk over problems with the person if you have any, via pm, email or other means if you feel the need. If you feel the need you can try going to talk to Nick22 and or Threehorn. They are both very experienced in rp stuff.

Just an FYI, Lillefot has apointed me as Co-GM of the rp. Hopefully the two of us can tackle any questions/problems/comments much easier now that there's two of us.
If Starfall is reading this, I hope he knows that we are not mad at him about posting the character without the bio. It was an accident, and these things happen! We hope that he doesn't decide to quit the rp, because he is a valuable rp'er

It's up to him. I mean I'm perfectly fine with being Co GM for the rest of the rest of the rps as well, but it really depends on if he needs me after this one.

No need for you to leave, just talk over things with the GM and Co-Gm and then once things are smoothed over you can dive back into the rp and go back to having fun. mistakes do happen.

We are going to work towards starting back up the RP as soon as possible! After talking it over with Gustav, he's going to try and send me a message and then I will forward it to Starfall.
If that fails to work, then we will figure something else out. Meanwhile, we will let you guys know when the RP is starting back up. We hope for it to be soon because we really want to continue with this :D

Here's a useful hint for all of us, that might come in handy:
According to our devine admins, a full PM inbox won't let you recieve and more PMs! Which would explain alot, IF that's the issue behind it.
Now, I encourage all to watch their PM inbox, and make sure it isn't full.
If it is, you might want to delete some old stuff to get the fresh news.

Well I am unhappy to say, but Starfall is leaving the GOF. He shall be missed dearly by all of us, and we pray he will drop by and visit. :(
Having said that, we now have to discuss what happens to his character. Gustav (Lillefot) and I are going to think hard about this, and we will let you know as soon as possible what we come up with.
We ask that you guys continue with the rp for nowm and again we will update once we figure something out.

Hello you guys, hope all is fine and sound with you.
As you might have noticed already, I've chosen to do some slight modifications in the flight plan of "Awakening".
I'm closing it. It's done. It's over. End of the line.
I'm tired of all this *. I've been so patient and over-convinced that I should continue, but now I'm finished.
It's not even fun anymore.
I want to thank you all who've been playing, it means alot to me, even if it didn't work all way out.

Well I can understand the feeling of stress of having a RP along with RL issues making things difficult. Take your time, relax, and should you ever get the spark back for any RP's just let us know, and we'll be here. ;)
