Spike was practicing for his next role. He was to cameo star in the next Wile E Coyote cartoon as a stand in. Petrie was on stage to make sure he didn't over do it.

Petrie had actually managed to carry Spike all of the way up the cliff... but he set him down incorrectly, and the young stegosaurus would pay dearly for Petrie's mistake.
