How would I get a custom member title?

Go to "My controls" and "edit profile info". It's the top option.

I don't remember what number I set it at, but I think you need 50 posts before you can change it yourself.

Exactly. You need at least 100 posts is what I remember. I was always looking for it too until it popped up at once. (This doesn't mean you have to go spamming the forum, just be patient :) )
