You guys are going to laugh at this one.
When I log in, I go straight to Google's Home Page, and as such, I saw their latest logo look for it.
It's to celebrate the 25 years Tetris has been around. :D
Enjoy!
-
Hehe I can hardly read google in there, but it's nice. I like the things they do with their logo sometimes :)
-
It is interesting. I like how they change their logo from time to time instead of having it the same all the time.
-
I gotta admit...when I pulled up the Google page last night...that confused me for a while, but once I'd taken a closer look at it...I could see it read Google and then I laughed. :lol
-
I always look forward to Google's special logos. I'd thought they'd have one for D-Day (Didn't they have one last year? Can't remember), but the tribute to Tetris is really cool. One of my all-time favorite old school GameBoy games. :wow
-
Took a while to read "google" in there. :p
-
Okay, can I seriously get some of their designers for my upcoming website? Cause I just love the one they came up with recently.
It's for Comic-Con 2009.
I'll just say it, when you're good, you're good! :o
-
That is very skilled indeed. I could not see that is what it was. Thank for showing it.
-
Yeah I freakin' loved the JLA one (comic book fan :p).
-
OMG! What is this one all about?
I know when they change it there's a purpose, but seriously, what's this one for? Anything special going on today that I'm not aware of?
-

If you click on it it will show related searches. Apparently this day is about some famous scientist :p
-
It's Hans Christian Oersted's birthday. If you hover over the image, it will usually tell you what the image is supposed to represent.
-
i pretty sure it was the experiment where he found out that magnetism and electricity are related. I you look at the picture, because in his experiment, he had wires that were placed near a compass and he noticed that when current went through the wire, the compass needle jumped. A pretty big discovery because before that they always thought the 2 forces were separate.
-
Google was made 11 years ago today. Look at what they've done to celebrate.
Nice! :D
-
Cute, having the 11 in the word like that.

This post has been removed.

Google's latest logo celebrates the invention of the bar code.
I literally have no comment on this one.
-
When I saw it, I thought my computer was broken! It took me a second to realize that it was just a Google logo change.
-
same here, I can't even make out "google" in it.
-
Well, yes, its written in bar code. I don't know if its even possible for people to understand bar code, so no body can actually see "google" in it
-
Maybe computers are the only ones who can understand bar code.
-
Has anybody seen today's Google logo? It's literally a game of Pac-Man that you can actually play. :lol I've made it to level four, so far.
-
I've seen it, but for me, Pac-Man is just too evil....and hard believe it or not, I can never get very far in the levels, highest I've ever been is like, level 4 or 5.
-
I do actually know a few tricks and I do consider myself decent at the game. Here are the few tricks I know.
Turn when followed
If you've got those pesky ghosts right on your tail, start turning as many times as you can. The ghosts tend to slow down when they turn while you do not. It can really save you.
Study the movements
Each ghost has a predetermined path that they will take. Play a few games and study them carefully so you can plan the safest possible route when you're ready to take them on for real, and in quite a few cases, avoid getting trapped.
Never pass up a multiplier chance
Whether or not you're going for a high score, it's important to get as many of them as close as possible to you before grabbing that flashing pellet. Once you get the flashing pellet, the ghosts will go backwards of their predetermined path. Use that to your advantage to get as many as possible before time runs out and you have to start fleeing again. Gobbling up as many of them as possible will make it a lot safer.
Every version of Pac-man rests on these three principles. Use them to your every advantage to conquer the game. I have yet to do that in the original version. Farthest I've gotten in that is Level 1F. (Level 31. The game's levels follow the Hexadecimal format.)
As for this Google Version, they got me at Level 6. :P:
-
You won't believe this people. The Google PacMan game does NOT use Flash!!! It's coded in HTML5! This is a HUGE leap forward in web development. Hopefully one day soon, we won't have to rely on proprietary plug-ins and software in order to make the web run decently. :yes
-
Pac-Man is so boring. I can't stand the game. But the concept of the logo is pretty cool.
-
Can somebody post a screenshot of that logo before it gets taken down? It just seems too cool to be simply forgotten like many others.
-
I beat Level One :P: That's what I usually do in games. If I can beat level one, I can exit out happy.
Seriously cool idea though. Hopefully they do this for future game anniversaries, like Tetris or Pong or, heaven forbid, Doom :wow
-
Can somebody post a screenshot of that logo before it gets taken down? It just seems too cool to be simply forgotten like many others.
I have something even better: A video! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qv4FsEjBm_8) :DD
Now you can simply screenshot any part of the video that you like. XD
-
Neat video, thanks for the link, it was fun to watch.
-
Yeah, there's plenty of YouTube videos of this thing. Dang! Pac-man is just SO much fun. :)
-
I remember beating the game on an old old game thingy from the 80s. I got by level one on the google logo and was happy with that. :D
-
Hey guys, someone hacked it and put up what the final level looks like.
He also turned off the death function. :P:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUtM8pwL80o (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUtM8pwL80o)
Level 256. (Which goes past the Hexadecimal limit of FF. (255)) The Glitch Level, and it's unplayable. :D
-
Interesting. I didn't know the code could go only up to a certain level number then it would mess up.
-
Interesting. I didn't know the code could go only up to a certain level number then it would mess up.
The way it works in the Arcade Version is slightly different. In Google's version, you can't play the Glitch Level, but in the Arcade Version, you can play it. However, the Arcade Version's Glitch Level is unbeatable.
Here's the main deal. In the glitched side of the level, there are 6 pellets that reappear every time you die. Even if you get all the pellets, the level won't end until you lose all your lives.
Only a rare number of players have made it to the Glitch Level legit. Out of those, only one has gotten the perfect score in Pac-man.
-
I see, thanks for the information.
-
Latest one is... unusual.
I seriously don't know what to say about it except that it looks really cool! :)
-
Yeah, it kinda looks like it's made up of a bunch of dots that move all over the place when you move the mouse over it. Could someone take a screenshot of it before it's eventually taken down? (I don't know how to make screenshots)
-
Here we go!
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb237/p.../GoogleDots.png (http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb237/pokeplayer984/GoogleDots.png)
It's really, really... different.
-
Very different indeed.
I don't see google very often currently since I tend to any searches using blackle, similar to google but it's all black.
-
I'm quite amused by the latest Google logo. It's a short video featuring Charlie Chaplin.
(Obviously, it's not really Charlie Chaplin but a modern remake, since it includes the Google logo.)
Edit: Sorry, typos.
-
Just watched and downloaded it. Funny. I've seen some silent comedies and it was done just like one of them was.
Thanks for posting this, otherwise I would have not known about the new Google logo since I use Blackle, a search engine I think done by google with an all black background. I use it since I find white backgrounds a bit painful to look at, and to bright.
There is a link to youtube in the lower right corner of the video if you want to watch it in a larger format.
-
Today's Google logo seems quite interesting. I think it's some kind of guitar that you can play and even make your own recordings. I find it a little fun, but made no recordings since I consider myself terrible at playing an instrument.
-

Man, the person behind that image MUST be good at what he/she does. :)
I'm rather impressed.
-
Today's Google logo looks interesting. It's basically a wavelength that somewhat resembles the word Google. For example, the "G" part is a large blue arc, and the "l" part is a narrow and tall arc that's colored green.
-
Interesting to see. Thanks for the information. Since I use blackle as my search engine I dont' usually see the Google logo since their all white page is a little painful to my eyes.
-
Hey guys! The latest one let's you "unzip" the home page. Go ahead, try it! :)
-
Haha that's awesome... Google is awesome just because of their logos sometimes =D
-
I'd try it with internet explorer 8 and that was an wrong move. It frozen. ):
But yeah it was cool to unzip the google homepage. :DD
-
That is neat, thanks for telling us of the change on the homepage.

Several times people have reported trouble with this particular Google Doodle. this (http://www.dnaindia.com/scitech/report_bummer-google-s-gideon-sundback-innovation-does-not-work-in-all-browsers_1680100) article has some useful links, though in particular I'm annoyed by the article's tone and lack of extra information other than "here's a list of browsers that sometimes don't work." Click through links to get real useful information.
-
Google have made this cool Google logo for Robert Moog. Who was the inventor of the Moog synthesizer. You get to play the synthesizer and record you're own music. Have fun out there. :DD
RIP Robert Moog.
-
Google turns 14 today and to celebrate, they changed their logo.
Take a good look at how the cake disappears. It's actually pretty neat. :)
-
Happy birthday to Google then. :DD
-
happy 14th birthday Google.
-
The Google Doodle today is The Zamboni game, created for Frank Zamboni's birthday.
-
So that's what it was! I was wondering when I saw this, what the game was based on :p
-
I really like today's interactive Google Doodle. For the anniversary of the first parachute jump, in this game you guide the parachutist left or right on where to land. There are all kinds of places to land: in a city, in an empty field, on the water, in a boat, up in a tree, on an iceberg with penguins, even on the back of an elephant. :lol Yeah, I've pretty much spent the past hour trying out all kinds of possibilities. (Where you start is always random, so it's never the same twice in a row.)
-
Dr. Who fans will love today's Google logo. I've played through that game three times now. My best time was just over three minutes. :D
-
My reaction to the google logo today.

Nice logo, with the 11 doctors on there. Guess the war doctor doesn't count.
-
Haha, I loved it! I've sent it to everybody... The little pixelated style is wonderful, and the game was a lot of fun :p
-
The game was very enjoyable and I felt that the logo was a fitting tribute to the Doctor. I agree with Kor though, it is a shame that they left out the War Doctor. I guess even though the 10th and 11th Doctors resolved their difficulties with him, google is less forgiving. :p
-
I guess they left him out since he's maybe not an official doctor. I guess he's not an official doctor. Though not in the same category as the guy who portrayed the doctor on that bbci flash that was briefly the official 9th doctor.
-

you mean Doctor Who??
-
Yes, specifically the War Doctor: http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/War_Doctor (http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/War_Doctor)
& the person who briefly was the official 9th doctor before the new series started and he was made non canon by the BBC. That some call the Shalka doctor.

Another neat Google logo today: a crossword puzzle (today is the 100th anniversary of the first ever crossword puzzle)
Out of 78 words, I've so far been able to figure out only about a dozen of them. I don't want to lose progress, so I'll be leaving that window open on my laptop until I've completely solved it (or I simply give up).
-
I got I think 10 or 12. Not very smart since doing well at crossword puzzles takes a very intelligent person. not surprised since I never do well at crossword puzzles. Though i do like to do them occasionally.
-
Sorry, I failed to count the numbers that were both across and down, so there's actually 88 words on this crossword puzzle. Right now, I've managed to get nearly half of them. Not bad, but the ones left to go are really tricky. I'll keep trying, though. :)
Edit (12/22): I have now gotten 50 words. Having so many letters filled in for many of the ones I've yet to get should make it a little easier, but I seriously doubt I'll be getting much more. Heck, some words are missing only one letter, and I still can't figure them out. Though you have to admit, for someone who doesn't do crossword puzzles very often, I've done pretty good so far.
Edit (12/23): Managed to figure out one of the big words, which allowed me to get a few smaller ones as well. I'm now up to 59 out of 88. My brother says he had solved the whole thing, thanks to Google searches, but I won't do that; it feels like cheating, to me.
-
We've got a Rubik Cube you can try to solve!
Good luck! :)
-
I had to resign :lol Cool idea though!
-
I tried for a while, but quit since I could only get it to turn like I wanted maybe 50% of the time.
-
Today is St. Patrick's Day and the Google Logo has become shamrocks. 3 play instruments, 2 dance and the little one on the end claps along.
-
So, Google has now made a change to their original logo and gave it a new look.
http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2015/09/google-update.html (http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2015/09/google-update.html)
What do you all think?
-
I honestly think it's quite boring, haha!
-
That "G" thing looks awfully bad... it's like Chrome all over again (oh, the nightmares).
-
I have to agree with what everyone else has said thus far, the new logo looks awfully bland.
-
According to the video in that blog, this is the first time Google has made a really significant change to its logo since 1999, so I'd say its understandable that not everyone is going to appreciate such a major change to something that has stayed mostly the same for 16 years. Personally, all I can say is that it doesn't seem all that bad to me. It'll take some time getting used to it, but overall, not bad.
-
I like it, I mean it's simple, it looks nice.
-
I can't say like or dislike Google's new logo. There's just nothing to like or dislike about it. As others have said, it's pretty bland and it doesn't have the same identity that the old one had.
-
It's ok, I prefer the previous one. Doubtless they'll change this new one eventually.
-
So the latest Google Doodle is my favorite so far. It is a puzzle game where you must place pieces of Ludwig van Beethoven's music in correct sequence. Each little puzzle is followed by a little scene which shows Beethoven on his way to a music concert which he is conducting. Along the way, he keeps getting into trouble and losing his sheet music. It's very entertaining, and done really well.
-
It was a fun little game, thanks for posting the news here. I don't use google so otherwise would not know. Thanks again. :)
-
Google has one up for Wilbur Scoville today! It's an adorable little game where you fight peppers with ice cream. Also reminds me of the first time I tried Scorpion Pepper salsa. Yikes! :oops
-
To celebrate Feb 29th, we have 3 bunnies. Just watch the adorableness.
-
To celebrate Feb 29th, we have 3 bunnies. Just watch the adorableness.
Agreed. I love this one.
-
It is a very cute logo.
-
I must agree that the Leap Day google logo was my favorite from them in quite a while.
-
Today, Google is celebrating William Shakespeare. Quite the writer he was.
-
Yeah he Made very good plays.
-
Independence Day and look at all the stars having fun!
-
Yeah it's a decent logo they made.
-
I was actually able to count all 50 stars on that image.
I'm also liking today's logo, featuring the arrival of the Juno space probe at Jupiter.
-
Yeah it's a nice image I mean they spent 1.1 billion USD of tax dollars to launch it. But still awesome to see it finally reach Jupiter.
-
It is interesting, and creative.
-
To me a waist of money but interesting none the less
-
Today Google is celebrating Halloween with a flash game. You are a cat with a magic wand that must defeat ghosts. Good Luck!
-
I already knew that dude and I played it it's alright not the best.
-
I tried it, to hard for me so not much fun. No biggie. Glad they did that.
-
Yeah they sucked at teaching you how to do the hard figures
-
Today's Google logo is inspired by the recent news of seven (that's right, 7) earth-sized planets discovered around a single star, not far from us. Awesome news, and an admittedly cute Google doodle to celebrate it.
-
I know it's awesome that over 229 trillion miles away three of them have life on those planets. So we're not alone in this world.
-
...three of them have life on those planets.
They do? I must've missed a very important piece of news lately!.. :D It's a possibility though and a fascinating one at that.
-
Yeah I know I hope there's alien life on those planets Coyote_A it would very cool to know other life forms exist.
-
Today's Google logo features the Cassini spacecraft that is still in orbit around Saturn.
-
It also went through Saturn's rings.
-
wtsh??? Oo
it seems last google logo is discussed in all possible forums I know! :o
I was scared by this stuff yesterday...
-
It is pretty amazing that the space craft reached Saturn.
-
Happy 19th Birthday, Google! Let's have a new logo to celebrate! :birthday
-
Happy 19th Birthday, Google! Let's have a new logo to celebrate! :birthday
19 years? Wow.
-
Today's Google logo celebrates the 30th anniversary of the "world wide web". I've recently developed a mild interest in the early years of computers and the internet (late 80s and early 90s), so I found today's logo to be quite interesting.
-
Today was the official revealing of the very first direct image ever taken of a black hole, and today's Google logo has a rather funny take on celebrating that.
(I'm really starting to wish there was a way to post images of these logos so that we could still see them many days later.)
-

Perhaps you could try using a screenshot or (if you are on Windows 10) use Windows key + Shift + S to activate snipping a portion of the screen, then save it through MS Paint and upload it here as an attachment?
For some reason I never get to see these images when I visit Google. Perhaps because I am Dutch and they have different images for every country?

Yeah, same here. Just regular Google logo for me. I don't really pay much attention to them anyway so no biggie. Although I would've liked to see the black hole logo myself.
-
It was pretty fun. Basically had the photo of the black hole with all the letters getting sucked into it.
Still pretty crazy to think that we have an actual image of a black hole though! Very cool.
-
https://www.google.com/doodles
Found a site on which you can view all logos :) So here's the black hole one!

With today being the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, of course there was going to be a Google doodle of it. I normally don't bother watching the accompanying video if there is one, but I made an exception this time.
For future reference, here's the video:

Japanese mountain climber Junko Tabei, the first woman to climb Mt. Everset (1975) and the first woman to climb the Seven Summits, the tallest mountains on each of the seven continents (1992).

I really like today's Google doodle:
Today is not only the Winter Solstice (for the Northern Hemisphere), but also the "Great Conjunction" of Jupiter and Saturn reaches it maximum today, in which their appearance together in the night sky is the closest it's been in nearly 800 years.
-
With the Olympics now ongoing in Tokyo, Google decided to celebrate by creating a Japanese style RPG game where you get to compete in various Olympic sports. I haven't yet had time to try it out, but thank goodness I can link directly to these Google Doodles and check them out sometime later rather than just go to the main page while it's still up.
https://www.google.com/doodles/doodle-champion-island-games-begin (https://www.google.com/doodles/doodle-champion-island-games-begin)
Is anyone here interested in trying this game? If so, what did you think of it?

I knew the first real images from the James Webb Space Telescope being officially released today was going to be a big deal, but I sure wasn't expecting it to be so big that there would be a Google Doodle featuring it.

Check out today's Google Doodle, in honor of Gerald Lawson and featuring a bunch of games that you can play, edit, and even build your own:
https://www.google.com/doodles/gerald-jerry-lawsons-82nd-birthday (https://www.google.com/doodles/gerald-jerry-lawsons-82nd-birthday)
I don't have time to try out many of these games today, so I'll definitely come back to this link later to try them all.
Edit: Apparently, once you start playing from that link, you'll want to go back to the main menu and go to settings to find the tutorial, if this is your first time checking out this collection of games and its built-in editor.

Today is Google's 25th birthday, and to celebrate, today's doodle features all of the past versions of their logo.

I enjoyed this one :)

I never expected one Google doodle I would find particularly amusing would be one made of marshmallows inside a s'more...
-
Mm I'm hungry now!
-
That's certainly one of their best Google Doodles in awhile. :ChomperYummy
But yet again, another sore reminder for Mo-o-o to de-Google his life by seeing the "Google" signage represented super well right in my face. :neutral :!
Just sucks being so desensitized and used to Google due to using their services basically all my life. So it's not gonna be the easiest to break the habit entirely, that's for sure.
-
Well, the latest one is celebrating the Lunar New Year. It's the year of the Wood Snake.
https://g.co/doodle/e7ece57
Edit: Link leads to a game of Snake. Let's just say the way you lose is a little funny.
