A friend of mine sent me this information:

Quote
Microsoft today announced that Windows 7 Upgrades (for XP and Vista users) will be priced as follows:

-Windows 7 Home Premium (Upgrade): $119.99

The full editions for new PC's are:

-Windows 7 Home Premium (Full): $199.99
-Windows 7 Professional (Full): $299.99
-Windows 7 Ultimate (Full): $319.99

Pricing will very outside the USA.

Most new PC's sold starting tomorrow will come with a free or low cost Windows 7 Upgrade, also buying Windows Vista Upgrade DVD's now will also allow you to get 7 for a free upgrade.

Also, some retailers including Amazon and Best Buy will offer Windows 7 Home Premium and Pro upgrades for pre-order starting tomorrow, Pre-Order by July 11th and save 50%!

Those of you in EU: Due to regulations, there will only be full versions of Windows 7 available and in-place upgrades will not be allowed, full editions will be sold at upgrade pricing until the end of 2009 in Europe. Internet Explorer 8 will not be included with Windows 7 in Europe and will have to installed separately.

That's nothing.  If you reserve a copy of Windows 7 now through newegg or tiger direct, you can get Home Premium for $49.

*goes to reserve copy.*

Hey, how can I resist? :D

EDIT: Okay, they ran out at Newegg, but at least they had some left at Tiger Direct, where I got mine.

Since I didn't want to pay SO much for shipping, I won't get mine 'til November 23.  Not surprised since it's a pre-order and all.  I'll wait. :)

I'll probably regret it but I'm not paying a cent for Windows 7 till I pirate it and make sure it's not a piece of garbage.  I made that mistake with Vista.  Won't do that again. :p  :anger

Knowing your little computer repairing business, you'll probably need it eventually anyways. :)

I'm sticking with Vista until 7 actually becomes stable.  Despite all the public testing and such, it still has a rushed feeling to me that I don't like.  Vista runs decent enough for me right now (though 7 RC seems better), until a certain amount of time has passed, I still consider 7 to be in Beta even after it's been released.
