I recently watched a video that talked about Gaming and the Female Audience and it got me thinking, why aren't there as many Girl Gamers as there are Boy Gamers? I mean, when you look at it in an overall perspective, there are WAY more Boy Gamers out there than there are Girl Gamers. I mean, seriously, what's going on here?
Well, this is what this topic is here to talk about and hopefully we'll find the problem and solution to it all.
So why do you think this is? I'm a guy so I seriously would not know.

From what I've heard, there are more females over the age of 20 playing video games than there are males under the age of 20 playing video games. Something like that. If memory serves right, between 40-50% of gamers are female.
Here's a video I saw on YouTube that talks about female gamers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1PkNbg0YtA...re=channel_page (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1PkNbg0YtA&feature=channel_page)
Was this the video you saw?

When looking at this stat, we need to rember that casual games like flash games and 2-minute time wasters also do count as games...and those who play these games fairly regularly will most definitely count as gamers, just as much as those who play larger-budget commercial games.
That might have been what DH's video was about, though. I admit I haven't watched it.

If any of this video seems vaguely familiar to you, then it might be that you watched Zero Punctuation videos once before. This was pretty much inspired by that.

I remember on a podcast I listened to a few years ago where they had a regular member of the cast who was a female gamer talk about it and she said the main games she and most other female gamers liked were the non blood ones like super mario, zelda, and things like that.
