With the XBox 360 Project Natal and Sony Playstation 3 Magic Wand coming out late next year, what do you think the future of gaming will be like?
My honest opinion? It's definitely going to change. I think this is the real first step into making the dream of Virtual Reality a reality. How soon? I'd say probably 3 generations, maybe sooner. Maybe.
Virtual Reality is something we have always imagined for games. Why not make it really happen?
So, what do you guys think? What do you think the future of gaming will be like?

I think it will be like the holodeck from startrek. you won't pop a disc into a console or put anything on you head but you'll just say the name of the game you want to play into a mic on a computer and the computer will create the area of the game.

Or better yet, imagine the game in your head, and allow a scanner to convert brainwaves into the setting of game you want, complete with an original story from your imagination, just think of how the enemies, bosses, and storyline goes, and let the computer do the rest! I know that's waaaaay, waaaaaaaaay out there. But it's an interesting idea.
Another idea that's not as far off as it seems, and not really as far-fetched is a virtual online network where members can chat face-to-face and compete in real time. Just read Tom Clancy's Net Force and you'll see what I mean. :p

I had not heard of this until just now, it looks awesome. I hope they make an Elder Scrolls game for that "Natal" thing.

Nothing will change. The Wii will still be the best.

There may be controllers that may surprise folks today. Like some sort of cap or hat you put on that converts your thoughts to actions on the screen. There that may be a while in coming. Or perhaps multiple cameras that can convert what you are doing to what your char is doing in certain games.
