So I found this site called howmanyofme.com (http://www.howmanyofme.com), and you type in your first name, and your last name, put that you're over 13, and it goes to the next page. On that page, it tells you how many people in the US have you first name, and how many have your last name, and how many people have both your first and last name.
You don't have to tell anyone either of your names, of course. Just post how many people have the same name as you. :]
As for me..evidently..
ïThere are 205,881 people in the U.S. with the first name Alexander.
ïThere are 213,914 people in the U.S. with the last name Cole.
ïThere are 143 people in the U.S. named Alexander Cole.
I don't know how good that is, exactly. I think it's kind of unique, though.

I'm too shy and paranoid to share my name here, :p but I'll tell you the statistics I got:
ï 291,920 people share my first name.
ï Fewer than 114 people share my last name (I'm not surprised, as I have a rather unusual last name; one that I've been teased for several times in the past :rolleyes).
ï I'm the only me in the country. Yippee! I'm unique! :D
Just to clarify, though; doesn't this site only calculate the names of people over 13? For all I know, there could be a 12-year old out there with the same name as me. Is that right? :confused

Just for fun (and inspired by LettuceBacon&Tomato ;)) I looked up the names of the hosts of MythBusters (one of my favorite TV shows):
ï There are 72 people in the U.S. named Adam Savage.
ï However, there is only one Jamie Hyneman in the country. (Somehow I'm not surprised. :lol)
ï I'm more surprised by the fact that all three members of the Build Team (Kari Byron, Grant Imahara, and Salvatore "Tory" Belleci) have unique names.

Here's the interesting thing...my last name came from a clerical goof on Ellis Island....I changed the spelling on the site to see what it would be like had I put in the proper spelling:

My first and last name is pretty common. I did a search some years back out of curiosity and found quite a few.
I wonder how many there are of the 3 stooges under their non stage names, and before Shemp changed his name since when his mother said Sam, his name being samuel, due to her thich accent it sounded like Shemp, or so I read somewhere. Not sure when they changed their last name to howard or if that was just a stage last name they all used.

F-14 Ace, I think a good number of those are actually Legal Name Changes. Basically, <insert name here> is not their REAL name that their parents originally gave them.

^ The site only searches for names in the United States, not the entire world. I'm guessing the figures aren't necessarily 100% accurate all the time, either (There may very well be people in the country who, for one reason or another, are not in the database). Not to mention that it apparently doesn't cover people under 13 years of age. I think it's mainly a “just for fun” thing that allows you to find out approximately how common a given name is.

I didn't bother searching for the Stooges' original names, mainly because I'm still not clear on what Larry's name was (different sources I've seen state his first name as either Louis or Lawrence, and his last name as either Fine or Feinberg). I know that Moe and Curly's given names were Moses and Jerome, respectively, and their surname (shared with Shemp) was Horwitz.
