I remember reading Marmaduke in the newspaper quite a while ago.  Not sure if it can sustain a movie length plot, but perhaps it can.

That's. . .unusual. Didn't the Beethoven series already focus on a big dog that causes havoc?

Let's hope the movie isn't as poorly designed as the comic.  Over the Hedge certainly one-upped what the character was drawn as in the funnies. ;)
