At this very point, 2009 is coming to a close.  As the year comes to an end, let's take a look at the games that were brought out in 2009 and pick what we think is best.

Remember, what you post is of your own opinion.  Do not flame or bash other people's opinions under any circumstances.  You will be sent to the mods if you do.

So, what games do you think were the best of 2009.

I'll start.

Best Wii Game - New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Best Xbox 360 Game - Brutal Legend

Best DS Game - The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

Best Multi-Console Game - Batman: Arkaham Asylum

Best Download Only Game - Excitebike: World Rally

Best Overall Game - Batman: Arkaham Asylum

That's my list for 2009.  I did not include PS3 or PSP because I simply don't have one, so I can't judge on them.

For me, it would have to go Assassin's Creed 2.  It's just an amazing game.  Visually stunning, great storyline (even though I am having some trouble in keeping up with it XD), and for once, a likeable main character (which seem to be rare now a days, save for Eddie Riggs, Batman, Alex Mason and Sean Devlin amongst others)

Well, since Modern Warfare 2 was about the only game I bought this year and  actually played, I'll have to go with that one.  I have Arkaham Asylum but I haven't played it yet.

OK...here's my noms for Game of the Year 2009 (by console)

Best PS3 game: Resident Evil 5

Best DS Game: Zelda Spirit Tracks

Best PSP Game: Final Fantasy Dissidia

Best Wii Game: New Super Mario Bros Wii

Best PC Game: Left 4 Dead 2

Can't think of one for 360 since the majority of what came out for 360 also came out on PS3.  :p

8. Super Mario Brothers Wii
7. Empire: Total War.
6. Batman: Arkham Asylum
5. Torchlight.
4. Plants versus Zombies.
3. Borderlands.
2. Left 4 Dead 2.

And the #1 game of the year for JD is:
