Title: Okay, is this fake?
Post by: pokeplayer984 on January 02, 2010, 10:05:32 PM
I was checking out some On-line Deals on eBay and I found this LBT item.

Littlefoot T-Shirt (http://cgi.ebay.com/littlefoot-the-land-before-time-childrens-movie-t-shirt_W0QQitemZ190350258459QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?var=&hash=item72164d158e)

Is this fake?  Seriously, this looks like a fake to me. :)

If not, this T-Shirt is just screwed up. :D

That is so dumb!  You can tell they photoshopped the picture onto a blank T-shirt.  I think either someone made a mistake when exporting the image or it's a joke.  That is the official Littlefoot picture used in advertising for the original film.  If you export a picture using the wrong color mode on Photoshop, it can come out like that.  I'm guessing that's what happened.

Actually I can't tell if it's photoshopped onto a white T-shirt, however I do agree that it's probably a fake. One of the tell-tale signs of it possibly being fact is that there's no © symbol anywhere, no Land Before Time written anywhere, no Universal, nothing. Just a picture.

Imposter!  That has gotta be fake.  Just as DH mentioned, no sign of a copyright can be found on that shirt.

Not only is it fake but it looks really poorly done even for a fake. I mean why is Littlefoot green when the pictures he's in usually depict him as being either brown or a light gray? Second, if you look really closely, the end of Littlefoot's snout is white but his underside is yellow. So I guess from looking at this picture, either...

A)Littlefoot got drunk and puked all over himself, OR...

B)He was trying to drink his...yeah I'll stop there.

I'm all for getting a child a Land Before Time T shirt. In fact I was thinking of getting one for my brother's kids once he has one but not if the T shirt in question makes the characters look wasted!

Obviously fake.

Littlefoot isn't green in the 1st place. Besides, it's clearly edited.

Fake isn't the right term. In that case there are lot of 'fake' items out there. It's just someone who wants to make money out of a picture on a t-shirt... Many do that.

I've seen other stuff like 'personalized place mat' from the land before time...

Whilst it is fake.  I don't think fake would be the correct term.  It's either fan made which perhaps shows that the person needs to re-watch the movie again or someone is doing it for a joke.

Either way, this isn't an original T-shirt.  There is no copyright, no Universal studies and I doubt that they would get the colours incorrect (to that extent) for Littlefoot.

I suppose people will do anything for money...

This is not the first example of not very LBT like looking LBT stuff and alas, sometimes even official stuff can look that way (not saying that this one is or is not official; I don't know about that). The most infamous example would be the "bat version" of Petrie, but also colorwise there have been other mistakes. When looking for land before time brooches which I hoped to be usable for tin figure positives, I found (not bought) one that was not only not suited for the purpose of making a tinfigure but was also a deep green Cera.
