After leaving MLK my virus scan reported 522 viruses from there! Does someone hate me? Jeez maybe I need to go back to windows xp
-
I don't think anyone sent you those viruses, to be honest. They may have gotten on the computer like how other viruses do; such as through downloading infected files or going to infected websites. Did the antivirus disinfect those viruses?
-
Yep but I did not download any files lately only uploading them.
-
There are drive-by downloads, meaning stuff that can be downloaded onto your computer (often from an infected site or a redirection). This is, from what I understand, one of the most common ways people's computers end up so infected. This is not to say you were deliberately going to infected sites; anyone can end up redirected. For instance, I've been redirected to a rogue antivirus (a type of malware) a few times on Deviantart, a safe site.
-
I see. Man I can't imagine how more there are in the computer.
-
Personally I recommend scanning with more than one program. If you're already done with the antivirus scanning, try scanning with another security program you have installed. If you don't have any other security programs installed, a couple free ones you can choose from include Malwarebytes, SUPERAntispyware, and Spybot: Search And Destroy. And no, these programs will not interfere with your antivirus.
-
The chances of you actually being infected by that many viruses are slim. Are you sure you're using a real anti-virus program? It could be a convincing fake or worse, a rogue. I've seen that many viruses on a few computers, but not many. And those computers were owned by people who were COMPLETELY computer illiterate, meaning they did absolutely no maintenance on the computer and downloaded everything that said "click me!"
But I have noticed an EXPLOSION in the amount of clients I have coming to me with malware recently. I think something's happening in the computer world that I'm just out of touch on at the moment.

Come to think of it you guys maybe right. I did recieve warnings from friends that this antivirus was a fake one but all was good back then so I didn't bother.
-
What is the name of the antivirus?
-
McAfee Security Center
-
McAfee Security Center is a legit antivirus and not a rogue, although I wouldn't put it past a rogue to mimic or create a similar name and mimic its look. I did recently read on the McAfee site that there is a rogue that mimics its look and feel.
If you want to try a different antivirus without charge, there are several free antiviruses to choose from, with the most popular being the free version of AVG and second most popular the free version of Avast, I believe.

Sure thanks :) I will be more careful next time.

You're welcome. :)

But for now I'm going to celebrate chinese new year.
-
I know where I got those viruses now....
PM me for the story. Its a black hacker and I know exactly who it is.
-
And how are you certain you got the viruses from this person?
