Basically, tell us about the weather at your place at the moment.
The weather here is relatively good at the moment. Despite a few clouds, it's mostly sunny. It's a little warm outside, but at least there's a light breeze.
(Edit: Could an admin please put a question mark at the end of the topic title? I wanted to put one there, but I forgot.)
-
This pretty much describes it. It's a life feed. The time is at the top:

-
How's the weather? I live in Indiana so it changes often. :lol
Actually it's typical spring weather: Stormy the next 2 or 3 days. Overcast, humid, temperature now hovering in low 70's.
-
Rather hot and humid (82 degrees)
-
Very sunny and warm here.
-
We had a snowstorm 2 days ago... :lol
It's sunny today though, not 'warm' but mild.
-
The weather here just made a complete U-turn. It began clouding up this afternoon, and just a few minutes ago, we got a very brief storm, including one loud boom of thunder. Yes, we got just one in the 15 minutes that it rained.
-
It was sunny, but windy and crispy cold. Now it's getting colder.
-
it is mad hot in R.I
-
Pretty decent outside, since it's like 11 PM
-
It was so hot yesterday that my room remained very warm all night and I needed a fan blowing in my face so I could get some sleep. I had to open the windows this morning to cool off my room, but despite there being a breeze outside, I'm not sure if that worked.
-
The weather is overcast and cloudy. I'm hoping it will clear up by Saturday, so that it won't interfere with my graduation.
-
I knew I remembered there being a topic like this somewhere.
As for the weather where I am, it's constantly been a very heavy thunderstorm for the past three hours. I've heard that there was even a tornado warning in eastern Vermont (which is very strange because you never see tornadoes in this part of the country). Fortunately, I live in the western part of Vermont, so it's just been a severe thunderstorm warning for my area. Good thing I live uphill from the river, because I see massive puddles in the yards of some of my neighbors. Hopefully, the weather will improve by tomorrow.
-
Speaking of tornadoes, we've had a really active tornado season this year. I've read that 2011 has been one of the worst years for tornadoes in recent memory, despite advances in forecasting technologies and warning systems.
The average amount of tornadoes appearing in certain states is 22 but this year it has been 49.
Tornadoes have hit six Southern states last month but luckily my house is still intact.
-
17 degrees celsius or 63 degrees fahrenheit and for once there is sun.:D
But only for today then it apparently goes back to wet and miserable; rain.
-
It was cloudy all day. And it was going to rain in the afternoon.
-
Pretty cloudy too. I hope that it will clear up because there is a "bloodmoon" (total luna eclipse) tonight which I would like to watch.
-
Hot and humid, with unforecasted thunderstorms the past few evenings/nights. The weather can be very unpredictable where I live, so I'm pretty used to it by now :p.
-
It's been dry and hot as heck the last couple of weeks, but we're finally getting some relief through some thunderstorms and downpours.
-
Right now, it's a bit windy here. The strange thing is that for the past couple of weeks, every Friday evening, it always seems to be windy wherever I am, or going, since it's the time that I usually go home from college (not this week, though).
We also has a few inches of snow yesterday, but it's been so warm today (and expected to continue to be warm over the weekend) that it's all melting away pretty quickly.
-
It was raining this morning, but sunny in the afternoon. A bit chilly evening and mornings to me, but okish in the afternoon. Though most folks would find it ok temperature since I'm more sensitive to cold them most are.
-
Unseasonably warm today - It's 7 degrees Celsius right now (and is expected to increase overnight), and it should be just above freezing at this time of year. Quite windy, too - Heard a wind warning on the radio for overnight with gusts to 90 km/h.
-
Grey, windy, cold and most of all, boring :p
-
It's just....grey out. It's always grey. Grey grey grey....
-
Over here it's been foggy and cold all week.
-
It's been grey here, also, and chilly, but I love fall weather. :smile
-
It's been raining for a few hours now. I dont mind. It COULD be snow.
-
It's been raining all day today, and it's expected to snow a little for the rest of the week.
-
The weather down here in Houston is finally getting cold. I haven't checked the temperature lately, but it feels like it's close to freezing.
-
Freakin' cold. Windy. No snow... yet. Wishing I were dead of frost-bite. The usual for a Wisconsin-ite.
-
It's down-right cold outside. I have the heater running constantly. If this keeps up through the month, I'll have one heck of a bill by the end.
It's not expected to get any better through the week.
-
Cold but sunny here. Was cold, total over cast and rainy over the past few days or so.
-
It is very stormy and cold out there...
-
The sky is clear, but near the ground it is foggy an cold, with below zero Celsius at night. It has been this way for weeks in northern Croatia.
-
It is very stormy and cold out there...
Here too
-
Oh nothing bad just COLD!!!!!!
-California
-
A strange sight here in Vermont for this time of the year: No snow on the ground at all. :o It snowed a little this morning, but not enough to leave even a flat surface covered.
-
It's wet here. VEERY wet... Nevertheless, the sun should come out pretty soon. Not much temperature change around here...
-
Been raining a lot down here for the past couple days. Also been pretty cold, so at least it feels Christmasy. :)
-
Wow, it's really down pouring this morning. We've must have gotten at least several inches of rain already, and it doesn't look like it's letting up. Just looking outside, it looks like the streets in my neighborhood are starting to flood.
-
Finally got some measurable snowfall here in Vermont... and I was once again reminded why I don't like being outside when it's snowing (especially if I need to walk somewhere and the wind is blowing in my face).
-
Here today it was mostly cloudy, cold to me and very very windy with gusts.
-
Got some freezing rain last night that led to an accumulation of ice. The class that I supposed to have yesterday evening was cancelled because of it, and I could easily see why. The paths were so icy and slippery that I had to walk through the snow and mud to the side of them just to get any traction. (I honestly wasn't surprised when I saw people slipping and falling on the icy paths. :lol ) Fortunately, the ice had almost completely melted away before the first class of this morning.
-
Looks like tomorrow (Sunday) is going to be slightly cooler than it's been for that last few days. The daytime temperature will be just below 80F here in Vermont. Of course, I shouldn't be complaining about the heat, considering how much hotter most of the country has been. From what I've heard, only the northwest and northeast corners of the U.S. (states like Washington and those in New England) haven't been affected by the heat wave.
-
It was bright sunny and in the mid to upper 90's Fahrenheit. We do have a daily chance of rain for the next week or so.
-
warm
-
The past week, it's been above the hundreds, but thanks to the rain, it decreased to high seventies.
-
Last Friday was surprisingly warm, around 75F, compared to around the 40s and lower 50s on most other days this month.
After spending all winter complaining about how cold my room always seemed to get, I suddenly had to deal with my room getting too hot instead, but that only lasted for two days before plunging back to cold on Sunday. :wacko Sure would be nice to have a little consistency.
-
Well, we had around 25?C / 72?F today, but meteorologists say that the temperature will fall to 6?C/ 42?F on Saturday  That's strange! But since I have some knowledge about weather and meteorology in general I can see, where they are coming from ;)
That temperature drop will cause some rain, thunderstorms are quite possible.
If anyone here has any questions concerning meteology or the current weather feel free to ask me :=)
-
We had nearly a week of unseasonably cool temperatures for August, with the highs not exceeding 78?F and moderate rainfall every other day. Unfortunately, this cool spell seems to be coming to an end. Today the temperature got up to 88 ?F and there are now 90s in the extended forecast.
Oh well, I guess I cannot complain. At least we no longer have the severe drought and 100+ temperatures that we had this time last year.
-
Whoa! 78?F is not bad if you live in Germany :lol and 100's haven't been recorded over here yet I think... I only know our record in ?C ... 40.8?C
-
Actually 40C would be 104F :)
It's darn hot here. It's just 24C (75F) outside, but the apartment is boiling. I think we're at least at 32C (90F) inside.
PS: Easy converter: http://www.wbuf.noaa.gov/tempfc.htm (http://www.wbuf.noaa.gov/tempfc.htm)
-
It's hot here today. Thank god I live in a country that has Air conditioning. It's about 88 degrees right now. Lucky I'm inside keeping cool.
-
Hot this week, up in the 90's (Farenheit) I'd say about 28 degrees Celcius (I am in no way an expert on Celcius so if this is wrong I wouldn't be surprised :lol)
Weird because last week was actually the tipping point of being quite chilly
-
Been a fairly cool summer these past few days, getting into the upper 90's only. Been a week or so since it was last 100. Though with the heat index it feels hotter then it is.
-
It's been cooling down a bit here, but the temperature is rising again. I'm really hoping we get some rain. I can see the clouds and here the thunder, but no precipitation. Why must wet weather avoid the area in which I live?
-
It's gonna be nice today. I think we're getting some rain today.
-
As predicted by the extended forecast from last week, the temperatures over here have increased into the mid-90s. It looks like that my next trip to the Du Quoin state fair is going to be on the hot side, but at least the humidity is somewhat reasonable.
-
The high today only got up to the mid 90's so been cooler then usual today.
-
Weather seems to have been rather consistent this summer. Temperatures typically in the mid 80s F, some days would reach lower 90s, then after a day or two of thunderstorms would drop to the upper 70s, then a few days later return to the 80s. The air conditioner in my room has been able to keep me comfortable. A rather surprising improvement from last year is that I'm getter far fewer bugs in my room. Must be due to the cardboard scraps I taped up around the air conditioner to cover up any potential gaps.
-
The weather has finally turned cooler, but unfortunately this is not supposed to last. The temperatures have fallen into the low 80s but should increase into 90s by the weekend. The extended outlook calls for a hot, dry pattern for the next two weeks, which will not be good for the soybean crop in this area.
-
The only term I can come up with is Infernal. Hot, dry, and then thunderstorms. Half the state'll be on fire at this rate.
Ugh.
-
Sunny but with a definite chill in the air
curse you, end of summer!
-
It's hot and sunny!
-
It rained a lot yesterday and today. There are actually puddles and they haven't dried up! It's been so long since I have seen puddles. :lol
-
Looks like summer might be coming to an end here. Over the last few days, it's actually been cool enough that my family has opened the windows for most of the day to let in a cool breeze. Certainly not yet cool enough to take out the air conditioners, but at least now we won't have to keep them on all day. :)
-

I wish that I could say the same thing about the weather over here, but we still have about another five days of temperatures in the 90s. It is supposed to cool off into the 80s next week, however.
-
Cold (and I mean cold!) mornings and evenings, with temperatures in-between for those... in-between hours :p
I could see my breath this morning!! :o
-
It's quite similar over here after it had been almost 90?F last week. Now we're in the 50's and low 60's and it rains every now and then.
-
It has rained very well near nonstop for the past three days. So bloody sick of this rain. Apparently, there is a town that has now been turned into an island due to flooding.
-
We finally got a small amount of rain today and the temperatures did not leave the 80s. The forecast for the next couple of days is absolutely blissful, with temperatures in the mid-70s and modest humidity. The temperatures should creep up back into the 80s next week, but I will willingly take that over the mid 90s that we have been having for the last two weeks. Hopefully, the more moderate temperatures are here to stay.
-
Haven't really seen the sun the last couple of days... According to the forecast, I won't see it the next couple of days either
-
I wish the Sun would disappear behind some clouds for a couple of days. <_<
It's still in the mid-90s here, but at night it is dipping into the mid-60s; but I'm not awake at night so I don't get to enjoy it.
-
Well, the extending forecast from two weeks ago actually held up. We currently have high temperatures in the low 80s, with lows in the 50s and 60s, and the trend looks like it should continue for the next week or so. I am glad to see that Autumn has arrived and that the temperatures are approaching the seasonal average.
-
It has been very foggy in the mornings yesterday and today. And rather cold. Brr.
-
According to the long-range forecasts, this week should be the last week with 70 degree weather for the foreseeable future. Currently, it is around 78 degrees and mostly sunny. The perfect weather to go to the Shawnee National Forest and take a hike.
-
Just sunny :D Haven't seen a single cloud so far over here in Turkey. At home it's crappy though
-
It's around 85 today and breezy. Winter is on its way. I can comfortably wear hoodies outside now. I don't know how you would like the desert, Justin1993. The sun is out probably 358 days a year :lol.
-
I'd forget all about the sun as soon as I felt thirsty. Water makes up just about all of my fluid intake and I would hate to not have any water source at hand.
The weather is very inconsistent here. It was starting to get cold, but then it warmed right back up. The temperature is supposed to drop tomorrow, with the highs being in the low 70s.
-
The weather over here has turned quite cool lately. We have been having high temperatures in the upper 60s and lows in the mid 40s. Next week we are forecast to actually have our first frost of the season. It has been quite a change from the situation a month ago.
-
Last night, it finally got cold enough that I decided to wear long pants to bed instead of shorts. I think it might be time to remove the air conditioner from my room. I'll have to wait until the weekend to get some help with that.
-
We had the first frost of the year last night. Today they are calling for a hard freeze and the entire area is under a freeze warning. This has been quite the change - just a month and a half ago we had high temperatures in the 90s.
-
We're going to have a storm. Especially the coast will be hit with bft 12 or stronger wind
-
We just had a rather severe storm over here that prompted a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for about an hour. Needless to say, that is a rather odd occurrence for the end of October. The forecast has my area in the 50s and 60s for highs for the next week, with the possibility of strong storms again in about a week.
-
It poured rain pretty much all day. The pond near our house flooded up to the fence surrounding that area. Most of the front and backyards were under an inch of water with little islands where the ground was elevated. It all drained as soon as the rain stopped.
-
Rainy, stormy and cold! Nothing to be worried about in November
-
It looks like that the weather is going to turn quite cold in the next week. We have one more weekend with high temperatures in the 60s and then we are supposed to have high temperatures in the mid 40s.
-
We had very severe weather today. A Tornado Warning was issued for my area and we were subjected to 65 mile per hour wind gusts, torrential rain, and dime-sized hail. Luckily, however, damage was minimal in my town. There are reports of catastrophic damage in Brookport, Illinois, with numerous mobile homes overturned and people calling for help under the debris. So it could have been far, far worse.
-
I heard about the severe weather... pretty unusual to have a tornado outbreak in mid-november, isn't it?
As for me, low stratus and temperatures in the 40s... about Wednesday/Thursday there might be the first 'Ground Sparkles' of this 'Cold Time' ;) Temperatures will be in the high 30s so it won't get white for the time being..
-
^It is very unusual for that part of the country in November . None of my family in Michigan have been impacted by the weather, so that's a relief on my end. I hope everyone else is okay.
It is supposed to be around 75 degrees today, and I'm practically in sweats freezing my tail off :lol. I used to say anything below 80 degrees gets cool for me, but I've since acclimated to triple digits of over 120 degrees to the point where I've become a sissy to cooler weather :spit. When I was practicing for my upcoming marathon in the canyon it will be run in, I was around 8,000 feet above sea level, and it was around 50 degrees with what appear to be snow clouds lingering above. We do get snow in the higher elevations, and I was excited at the thought of running with snowflakes but it never happened :lol.
-
Okay, as expected and forecasted, it's just snowing at the moment :p Though the temperatures are in the high 30's so it'll melt almost instantly again :( Well, the winter will come and so will the snow :yes
-
It's annoying. The temperatures keep fluctuating from high to low. It rose to the 80s Sunday, fell back into the 60s Monday, and it has risen into the 70s. It is supposed to cool down again after tomorrow, into the 50s. I just want it to stay consistently cool.
-
It's beautiful and sunny, but the temp is biting.
-
We received another 1.5 inches of rain today. This makes us several inches wetter than usual for the year. The temperatures have settled down into the 50s for highs and 30s for lows. It is supposedly going to get extremely cold in about a week.
-
Cold and wet. The temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius. Sub-zero temperatures and snow are expected next week (though I must say that here, at the forefront of the vast Eurasian steppes, there's never too much snow in November and December).
-
Summer is just around the corner here in Australia and I am not looking forward to it really. We are already getting some days where it is above 35 degrees celsius by around 8 am!
-
There's been some 10 centimeters of snowfall per square meter in the last two days over here, but it's melting quickly.
-
Cold, overcast... Raining slightly.
-
Bright, sunny, & cold. Better then total overcast & freezing.
-
We had some freezing rain in the night so everything was covered by a thin layer of ice... it was dangerously slippy...
-
It's dipping below freezing tonight, in the high 20s. It's 40???? F right now.
-
The weather over here has settled into a dry and cold pattern. We have had low temperatures around 20 degrees Fahrenheit with high temperatures in the 40s and 50s. We were only about 5 degrees away from our record for today's low temperature, which was set way back in 1903.
-
A little wet weather lately, but at least temperatures this week will be a bit more mild (upper 30s F, lower 40s F). It's nice to be able to leave my bedroom for a few hours and not have it freezing cold by the time I come back.
-
Storm with hurricane strength winds forecasted to hit the coastal area on Thursday/Friday. Flooding's likely there. Possibly, it 's going to snow.
-
It has just been announced that my area will be under a Winter Storm Watch starting at 6 pm on Thursday. Depending on how the storm develops, we could see anywhere from a tenth of an inch to an inch of ice and up to 6 inches of snow, but the forecast models are still quite unsure at this point. I will be rushing from my evening class to my parent's home on Thursday in the hope of avoiding the treacherous driving conditions.
-
The temperatures rose into the high 70s over the past few days, but it is supposed to drop into the 50s tomorrow. It might rain, too.
-
The winter storm has arrived in force. As of right now, we have about a 1/4 inch of ice on the ground and much more is on the way. They are calling for as much as an additional inch of ice and up to 8 inches of snow on top of that. I arrived at the college this morning just to be informed an hour later that classes were to be cancelled. <_< In the process of driving back to my apartment (only two miles away, thank goodness) from my unnecessary trip to the college I nearly slid off road twice and I noticed several cars that had slid into the ditch. It irritates me to no end that the late decision of my employer has endangered the safety of my students and my fellow instructors. :anger
-
^yeah, that sucks <_<
Well, the storm wasn't as strong as expected. Though it brought some snow to my place :) Too sad that it won't last long...
-
They really need to make up their minds sooner about canceling classes! Sounds like the roads are in no safe condition! It's just raining pretty steadily here, and in the mid 40s. We MIGHT get snow on Sunday.
-
Well, the snow is finally tapering off. We ended up with 1/2th inch of ice and around 10 inches of snow. Driving conditions should be extremely poor until late Saturday. Things should be clear and dry for about a day, but then we are supposed to get a bit more ice or snow on Sunday. :rolleyes
-
It's snowing here. :) Our first snow of the season. We're not expected to get much, as it's predicted to only be an inch, but it's certainly coming down now all the same. :smile
-
No more snow today, but it was much colder than it has been previously.
Interestingly, I never really seem to pay much attention to the weather unless I have to go somewhere outside the house, as I have been much of this month for my temporary job.
-
Low stratus since Tuesday... it's annoying
-
Yet another round of winter weather is moving in to my location. The meteorologists are calling for freezing rain and up to 3 inches of snow. That is less significant than the last major storm, but nonetheless road conditions are going to be quite treacherous for a while.
-
It's very foggy. During the day the temperature is above zero and the water evaporates, and during the night it goes below zero and the vapor freezes.
-
Very cold today, down into the single digits (F). At least it's expected to get warmer as the week progresses, with a possibility for rain by Friday.
-
Well, it's kinda warm here, condidering that it's supposed to be December :rolleyes
-
It's been a fluctuate of freezing cold to semi-warm here. It's really cold today, though. 1 degree Celsius.
-
It has warmed up into the mid-50s, with the forecast calling for warm temperatures to stay in the picture for the next few days. I actually have had a chance to open up the windows in my apartment and let the air circulate, which is something that I couldn't have imagined a few weeks ago when we had the snowstorm. A storm system is supposed to bring in heavy rain over the weekend and then the temperatures are supposed to become more seasonably frigid.
-
Hot as anything.
It 37 degrees, and since Australia actually rarely goes over 40 degrees..yeah it pretty darn hot.
-
I'm rather concerned about the weather forecast for tomorrow: freezing rain with an ice accumulation (I forget how much) enough to expect power outages. I've even heard that this may be as bad as the ice storm we had here back in 1998.
This really concerns me because I remember what that was like. Back then, I honestly wasn't that worried; I actually thought seeing everything covered in a thick layer of ice was kinda cool. I actually didn't mind having no power for a few days because, back then, the only electronics I had to entertain me was a few cartoons on TV and only one hour of computer games per day (we had only one computer in the whole house, back then). I remember spending much of that time working on a puzzle, and I had fun, especially considering school was obviously canceled for those days.
Things are a lot different these days. Nearly all of my daily activities are on a computer, many of which require internet. If we do end up losing power here, I fear I'll be left with almost nothing entertaining to do. The good news is that I'm aware of this ahead of time, so I can prepare myself for the possibility (for example, I've decided to do my laundry today instead of tomorrow, as I had originally planned). Still, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for no power outage at my house, or at least that such an outage will be quickly restored.
-
We are currently experiencing extremely heavy rain. We have obtained 3 inches thus far, with an additional 1-2 inches being predicted for tomorrow. Obviously, flash flooding is a major concern. In fact, I now only have one route that is passable to the nearest town, the other 2 routes leading from my parent's home is covered by overburdened streams.
Thankfully, the rain is supposed to stop by tomorrow night. We then are forecast to have a cold but dry week.
-
Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as I had feared. Power and internet never went out at my house, despite a 1/4 inch accumulation of ice. Apparently, the really bad part of the storm happened north of here, between Burlington and the Canadian border, where power outages were reported. The most we had to worry about was getting all that ice off of the cars parked in the driveway. (My dad decided to scrape it all off after turning on the cars and letting them warm up for a while, but to get inside to turn on the cars, he had to use a rubber mallet to break some of the ice around one of the doors.)
Temperatures are expected to warm up tomorrow, so hopefully this means the worst is already behind us.
-
The rain has stopped, thank goodness, and we are now experiencing our fifth straight day of dry weather. It is actually supposed to warm up to 50 degrees or so by the end of the weekend, before dipping back down below freezing for highs.
-
We are not under the grips of the "polar vortex" that the meteorologists have been talking about for days. We have just set a new daily record low temperature at -5 F today and we should challenge that reading tomorrow as well. With wind chills around -20 the authorities are recommending that everyone stay inside and avoid going out unless you have too. Sounds like good advice to me.
-
This unusual cold air mass in Canada and the US causes unusual warm temperatures over here in Europe... I wouldn't mind switching over that :p Seriously, we have temps in the 50's over here which is far too warm, according to the average temperature.
-
It's snowing outside and we're supposed to get a decent amount today. Good thing I don't have to commute yet. :yes
-
It is still far too warm in Europe. Here in Croatia trees are budding, which means when cold weather finally comes the buds will be ruined, and there won't be any fruit this year. :(
-
It's just getting a little cooler over here in Germany... after weeks of temps above 40 degrees F... now finally in the mid-30's and even lower in the northeastern parts of Germany. It even snowed today... kinda :smile Melted away instantly.
-
We got about 7 inches over the course of yesterday. As said, glad I don't have to drive anywhere. :lol
Too bad about the warmth in Europe though...
-
It's FINALLY snowing over here for the first time in this winter. As a person who likes snow and everything you can do with it (except skiing), I'm utterly happy now :lol
-
I like snow as well, but I am afraid that it has exceeded its welcome in my area of Illinois. With regards to the current weather, we are again being faced with very cold wind chills. The wind chill last night reached a frigid -10 F.
-
It's cold and snowy in Croatia as well. I think the budding stopped in the nick of time. :)
-
^ That is good to hear, jansenov. It would be a shame if the fruit crop suffered on account of early budding and a late frost.
In my neck of the woods, we are having yet another round of snow. It isn't a terribly large amount (1-3 inches) but at this point I am almost sick of winter.
-
A part of Croatia, Gorski kotar, was struck by freezing rain, and so much ice has accumulated that pylons and cables are breaking under the weight and 14,000 homes have been cut off from the electric grid. The grid is being re-established there as we speak. Some areas of forest will be damaged as well, as trees crack under the weight of the ice.
Neighbouring Slovenia was hit by the same thing, only there the situation is more severe. 88,000 homes are without electricty, and unlike Croatia, their civil service was overwhelmed by the situation and they had to use the military, and also request aid from other countries. Slovenia forests appear to have sustained much greater damage. In Serbia there was a lot of snowfall, and in places there is so much snow the Serbian military had to use tanks to break through, but otherwise the situation is under control.
-
Some regions of the Alps received up the 3 metres!!! of fresh snow... (about 10!!! feet) and the snow won't stop hammering those regions.. at the same time, floodings caused by the same storm systemnhit many parts of Italy and the northern coast of Spain receives waves of 10 metres height and more, destroying the coastal areas...
Here's an impressive picture of the massive amount of snow (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1462439960645767&set=a.1423656947857402.1073741825.1377757209114043&type=1)
Over here in Germany, it has got boring... temps in the 40's, sometimes sunny, then cloudy.
-
More ice is heading for my area of the country. It looks like that they may end up cancelling classes yet again. Considering my Monday evening class is already 6 lecture hours short due to previous weather cancellations and holidays, I have no idea how I am going to make up all of that material.
-
Lot of snow here. It stopped for the day, but we're supposed to get more tonight. We're so busy rearranging our house (I'm moving into the basement to a bigger room for one and we're shuffling our offices around) that we just didn't have time to shovel. Fortunately, some guys were wandering our neighborhood and doing shoveling work, so we got them to clear our driveway. They were very efficient. :yes We'll hire them to come back tomorrow if it gets bad again tonight, which it's looking like it might. :p
-
Very severe weather from US to Europe...
You guys get snow and ice storms regularly... the UK gets hit by 10m and even higher waves, hurrican-strength storm and floodings, some regions in the Alps drown in snow (some regions received more than 5! metres of snow, 15! feet)
Over here... well, boring. temps between 40 and 50 F, mix of rain, and sun-cloud conditions... no winter here
-
It is finally warming up over here. We hit 45 degrees for a high today and have received some moderate rain which has helped to melt the remaining snow and ice. The extended forecast actually shows us reaching 60 degrees for a brief period of time next week. I certainly hope that forecasters are correct. I am sick of this winter weather.
-
Well, after a series of lows crossing Europe that has lasted for 4! months there is finally a change in the weather pattern. A strong high has built up over central Europe, bringing us sunny weather and temperatures that may exceed 70 degrees F tomorrow. Spring has arrived :)
-
The weather is finally warming up after a rather cold and active winter. The forecasted highs for tomorrow is in the mid 60s, whereas the high temperatures for Tuesday may actually reach 70 degrees. Needless to say, I am glad to see the beginning of spring. :yes
-
The first storms of spring have finally arrived. My region is now under a Tornado Watch and a line of sever storms is forecast to enter the area later tonight. We have already received two inches of rain and several more is forecast in the next 24 hours.
-
This evening is overcast, which is unusual for the area I live in. We are supposedly having a "cold front" come through, although the temperature only dropped from the low 90s to the mid-80s :lol.
-
We are currently being hit by some Saharian dust... It's unusually warm (temperatures reaching mid-70's) and (due to said dust) the sky was covered in clouds all day.
-
It stormed this morning. It didn't last long, but it poured a lot of rain in its duration. Right now, it is sunny and cool.
-
The temperature have been holding steady in the lower 70s today. Although there are a few storms forecast over the next few days, the overall forecast looks like nice. :yes
-
It's been beautiful the past 2 days, and the weekend's looking nice, too. I may just go out and sit in it.
-
Daily high temperature of 60F today. Looks like spring has finally arrived here in Vermont.
-
The weather has been exceptionally nice for the last week, with highs in the 70s and mostly sunny skies. It appears, however, that my area is forecast to have heavy rain and strong storms on Monday. Oh well, it is Spring after all.
-
There have been some thunderstorms at all days of the week with temps in the 70's. Though none of them made it to my location yet. Well, two more days of tstorms and the likelihood for a hit increases by today (Saturday). Some parts of Germany are experiencing quite a draught lately... though that's going to change after the weekend, luckily :)
Another fact: Since Nov 2013, the average temp has been 3?C above normal... and april's going to continue that streak
-
Cold, cold cold cold cold cold cold cold.
It' like 3 degrees and wil only get as warm as 5 today. Ironic thing when I live in one of the hottest and driest countries on earth.
And it's only Autumn and there was ice on my mailbox and it was snowing.
Yeah,it actually snows in Australia hush xD.
It gonna be -2 tonight, gah save me.
-
After some more days of warm and thunderstormy condition (been hit once quite hard... some flashflooding only a few kilometres away from my home), some colder airmass is dominating the weather. Frost is likely tonight and highs shouldn't overcome 60F for the net two days... At least it should be sunny most of the time :)
-
Sorry for doubleposting :angel
We have cool and showery weather for some days now and an occasional thunderstorm can't be ruled out (though, so far, I've been spared from them as opposed to Rocking Scorpion :DD)
-
It's been an exceptionally cold and rainy May. In neighbouring Serbia and Bosnia there are disastrous floods, some people have drowned, the entire countries are in a state of emergency and have requested aid from abroad. Parts of Croatia could possibly to be flooded too, as the Sava river, being the destination of most Bosnian rivers, is reaching record-breaking volume. Though Croatia has fairly good dikes on its rivers compared to other European countries, the water level is on the way to go beyond anything the designers in the 1960s envisioned.
-
I've heard about the carastrophy over there :( Even bridges were destroyed (I've seen a very scary video showing how a destroyed bridge floating on the muddy river rammed another bridge... It also took down a really old, big tree as if it was a stick... scary...). Let's all hope the dikes are going to withstand the water masses :goodluck
Over here, the showery weather has turned into a sun-cloud mixture at moderate temperatures... In the middle of the week, temperatures are forecasted to exceed 30?C/86?F at some locations... Also, conditions for severe storms are given later next week.
-
I hope for the best, jansenov. Hopefully the well-built dikes will be able to handle the massive amount of water flowing that way. :yes
Over here the weather has been quite nice. We have had temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to 60s (?F of course, 60 degrees ?C would not be pleasant :lol) for highs. The temperatures should rise into the 70s and 80s by the middle of next week.
-
The dike breached at one spot in Croatia, but dikes in Serbia and Bosnia, which are of poorer quality, suffered larger breaches and they got most of the flooding. Two villages have been flooded in Croatia, and one city with its surroundings in Bosnia and one city in Serbia too. Here less than a hundred people had to evacuated, in Bosnia over ten thousand had to be evacuated. There are no dead in this most recent flooding.
-
Glad to hear no dead in Croatia, but all the same, my condolences to your corner of the world. Not good. :(
-
And in just one month, spring turns to summer. The last few days have been so warm that I decided it was time to put in the air conditioner, even though it's expected to cool off for the next week.
I like being able to have some control over the temperature in my room. I find myself most comfortable between 72 and 75. The last few days, it was 80 to 82 in my room, and opening all the doors and windows did little to cool it down much. I prefer to leave the door to my room closed, so putting in the air conditioner will allow me to return to what I'm comfortable with.
-
The number of dead is going up: 2 dead in Croatia, over 40 in Bosnia, possibly hundreds in Serbia. Also, in Croatia, the only spot on the dike which didn't hold was the newest spot, built in 2010. An investigation will be opened into this dimishing quality of construction.
-
^ I am sorry to hear that, jansenov. :( I hope that they find out why the newest construction was the portion that failed. That most certainly is not what one would expect. Usually it is the older infrastructure that will be more prone to failure incidents.
-
It's been rather hot today. I'm not sure how warm it was outside, but my room was over 80F (until I turned on the air conditioner, of course). Then, later this afternoon, storm clouds rolled in and we got about half an hour of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, and strong winds. The clouds have since passed and it's still rather warm, but hopefully it should cool off soon. (That's what happens after a thunderstorm passes, right?)
-
It has been hot and humid all week, with temperatures approaching 90 degrees. We are projected to possibly have severe weather tomorrow. With the current humidity and energy in the atmosphere I am sure that storms will pop up quite easily.
-
^Oh yeah, thunderstorms should cause some cooling off... except of they occur along a warm front... Well, there's certainly a lot going on in the US thunderstorm-wise. I've seen some pictures and videos... Hopefully, nobody gets battered by baseball-sized hail
As for me... last week has been very rainy and even quite chilly. Now we're going to have a "heat wave" at the weekend with temperatures exceeding 90?F for a few days at least.
-
We have been stuck in a pattern of constant rain for the last week or so. Nothing too severe has happened in my area, but flooding is becoming a concern in low-lying areas.
-
Pretty dangerous set-up over here. Thunderstorms can cause real damage these days ... Last evening and night, a system of the size of Ireland caused considerable destruction in some parts of Germany. Luckily, I wasn't close to it (though the ice shield reached me...)
It's been so hot these past few days that several records have been topped temperature-wise. Luckily, the heat is going to leave by tomorrow... I'm sweating here in my room with 85?F :D
-
We are currently set up in a hot and dry pattern. The high temperatures are consistently in the low 90s, whereas we are not predicted to have any rain until late next week.
-
Temperatures in the high 60's :x And it's not supposed to change within at least one week
-
The nighttime temperatures have been steady in the upper 60s and lower 70s for the last few days. It is nearly perfect weather for Independence Day celebrations.
-
No rain for the first time during this Fourth of July day. I'm very happy for that fact.
-
Well, the nice weather was too good to last. We now have a two-day sequence of storms forecast for the area and the NWS has placed the area under a "slight risk" advisory for the next two days. The main threat should be torrential rain according to their prediction models.
-
Ehh, we have a pretty interesting set-up for this week. Chilly air from the sea mixing up with hot and humid air from the Mediterran... This is always capable of producing torrential rain and that's exactly what they forecast: Rain, rain, rain... and thunderstorms; at least for tonight. After that it'll be too cold for thunderstorms, temperatures dropping down to 60?F on Wednesday after almost 90?C on Friday. Hope there won't be serious flooding... If there is flooding at a local river, it wouldn't affect me as the water floods only some grassland, usually. However, other regions won't be that lucky in case of a flooding...
-
We have finally got some rain today which has brought the temperatures down. We now have high temperatures in the mid-80s and moderately high humidity.
-
July and the first week of August have pretty much dominated by a steadily restoring weather: Warm but not hot, very wet and most of the time it were very local events with quite some flashflooding. We've been spared luckily :p
Now the remnant of ex-hurrican Bertha is forecasted to cause quite some storm (a very rare thing in August over here and possibly severe thunderstorms.
-
Today started off freezing at -2,then settled to 1 around 8:30. Now at 1pm it's about 15.
Days are ever so slowly getting warmer as we head into Spring, however in Australia. Spring is not all sunshine and rainbows. It means bushfire season begins and lasts until the new year.
Right now it's sunny,we got a breeze and theres a few scattered clouds. Pretty mild day and I like it,not freezing my butt off nor am I feeling like I'm Death Valley.
Bushfire seasons us never welcomed. Last year in my state alone fire did us 94 million dollars in damage, destroyed homes, killed people even burnt down entire towns. I rather not see my state catch on fire, thank you very much. I can tell you this now-having your town surrounded by flames is really scary.
I'm going this cool weather, because soon it's going to be boiling hot and the normal is going to be 39 dgrees Celsius or 102 fahrenheit and getting up to 43 degrees (109)..kill me.
-
It has been unbearably hot and humid for the last two weeks. Temperatures have reached into the 90s and no relief is in sight.
-
Wanna switch? :p It's been pretty fresh and showery but now it's supposed to get a little warmer and drier. Hope the forecasters say the truth...
-
We finally got some rain. Now the temperature has dropped from the 90s to the upper 70s. As far as I am concerned it can stay this way for a while. I have had more than enough of summer.
-
summer is over already over here. Temperatures were in the low 80's yesterday but it's said so drop down to 70's again... At least it has been sunny most of the time.
-
We're still in summer in Texas. low to mid 90's every day, but with rain 3 or 4 days a week. Least we don't have a drought, I guess. :lol
-
When I woke up yesterday morning, this was the reading on the thermometer in my bedroom: 84F and 44% humidity, which is the highest either of those have ever been all summer. :o Needless to say, the very first thing I did after getting out of bed was to turn on the air conditioner.
Thankfully, this morning was a lot more tolerable: 78.5F and 35% humidity. I typically turn on my AC when it reaches 80F and/or 40%, then turn it off when it comes close to 72F, which typically has humidity of 30% or less. (Keep in mind, this is the indoor temperature of my bedroom. I haven't been paying much attention to the outdoor weather conditions lately.)
-
Just one week later, and now the overnight temperature in my room has now been going below 75F. I finally got around to actually checking the weather forecast, and it looks like outside temperatures should be in the low 60s and high 50s this week. That's cool enough that I actually haven't even turned on my air conditioner for a while now. Looks like summer will be coming to an end soon, here in Vermont.
-
The weather for the next week is projected to have highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Now this is weather that I can get used to. :yes
-
Haven't seen any yet, but apparently there's nothing but rain forecasted for the next week over here in Houston, Texas.
Dang, I know there's that tropical storm to the west of us, in north-west Mexico, but how can that be raining on us for 5 or 6 days?
-
My family decided to remove all of the air conditioners in our house this weekend, but today, I'm really regretting having that done for the one in my room. It's been so hot in my room that I've been forced to keep the door and both windows open, which I really don't like doing at all.
I really hope it cools off a lot very soon. I should not have to worry about summer weather in the middle of October! ( <_< Next year, I'm going to keep my air conditioner in until it starts snowing.)
-
^That's very similar to the temps over here :p We're experiencing a 5-6 K too hot October so far. temps reached up to mid- 80's in the south at one or two days while last year (as I found out) the same regions experienced the first snow of the year
It's the very same pattern currently, that existed for the better part of last winter season. I hope it won't establish again this winter... I'm a winter and snow lover ;)
Wonder what the weather in Turkey will be like where I'll be heading in three days...
-
We had some pretty severe storms on Monday (with tornado warnings in the adjacent county) but the weather since then has been relatively nice. Temperatures have been relatively constant in the lower 70s.
-
I couldn't tolerate another hot day (81F with 45% humidity and, unlike yesterday, almost no cooling breeze outside), so I put my air conditioner back in, myself. This time, I will not remove it until I wake up one morning to 66F in my room (the temperature at which I start complaining about the cold).
-
Yesterday, it rained quite a bit. Last night, in addition, we just happened to get a little bit of snow, considering the temperatures last night and this morning were around the lower 30s. A surefire sign that Michigan's winter is going to be just as bad as last year's, if not worse...
-
In Canada, there is lots and lots of snow. I say, a three month long winter is more than enough in my opinion.
:bang :bang :bang :anger :wave
-
^Wanna trade? I get snow and you get Western Europe's way too warm weather? :lol
BTW: Did you guys read about the extreme snow fall around Buffalo NY? Lake Effect in perfection, I tell you. more than 2 metres of snow within 24 hrs is insane! (but sorta cool :smile )
-
It was pouring rain a little while ago and thundering now. Last I checked, 60 F
-
Quite some varied weather here lately. It was very cold last week (low 30s F), up until about two days ago. Today, it's been rather warm (around 65F), and it's expected to cool back down within two more days. Adding on to that wild temperature swing, it's been quite windy as well. (My dad had to do some yard work on Saturday and said that the strong cold wind felt like being in a hurricane.)
-
the second half of november and early december were dominated by... fog  Seriously, I didn't see the sun for a whole week...
Last week was mostly reallywindy and today it has rained without any break. It's also snowed a little every now and then these last few days (and there was even thundersnow (which I missed...)) but it's too warm for it not to melt. Still waiting for winter to arrive in Europe but it's looking better than last year at least :)
-
Last week is has been snowing which accumulated about 3 Inches (more than accumulated in winter 2013/14 in total!). Most of it is gone now but we're about to receive new snow tomorrow :)
-
We now have a high of 35 degrees with freezing rain and sleet being predicted. Lovely. Thank goodness I don't have to drive anywhere today.
-
37 degrees and it's not giving up (the authorities have asked the population to avoid the streets if they can).
-
Last week it's been very windy and some places received some pretty nasty storm. We're in for more storms this week. Lovely...
-
37 degrees and it's not giving up (the authorities have asked the population to avoid the streets if they can).
Is that in Fahrenheit or Celsius? I think it might be best from now on if everyone in this topic kept this in mind to avoid any confusion. (In this case, 37F is relatively cold, while 37C is very hot.)
-

Yes, you are right about that. This is Celsius I'm referring to.
-
Right now it's snowing :smile The temps circle around 0?C/32?F lately and by the looks of it it should stay like that for at least a week :)
-
Pretty nice temperature in this southern summer. It's not boiling and, you can do things at your own pace. THIS is the kind of thing I like.
(It seems like I have deleted this message by accident... or it was removed by a mod, in which case I apologize to put it up again. I honestly don't know what happened).
-
For a week now, it snows and melts away again :lol Well, still better than no snow at all, right? Besides, it's going to get a little colder next week so maybe it won't melt again then... :yes
-
It is snowing lightly out right now, and it has been this way since...late last night, I believe, and is likely going to continue until tomorrow morning. Well...I guess I'll be finally getting a snow day, being as we haven't had one at all this year so far. This might be it...
-
Europe is so small. We have the exact same weather pattern here, Ducky. Also going to get colder soon.
-
Nice tropical weather here.
-
Lots of snow, though not snowing at the moment.
-
Freezing. Snow. Wind earlier.
-
Another blizzard blowing through here. At least the heater in my room is working better than it did last year. (Not only did I clean out much of the dust last summer, but I also discovered that, of the two thermostats in the house, the one on my side of the house had simply been ignored this whole time. :bang )
-
Since my last update, weather conditions gor far more settled and calm. It's either sunshine or fog for most of the day and temps in the 40s (?F). Might change around the weekend back to stormy and rainy...
-
It is horribly cold and snowy. We are forecast to have temperatures as low as -9 F (-22 C) on Thursday, with recurring freezing rain and snow. Winter appears to be making a last hurrah before the coming of spring.
-
Another weekend, another blizzard blowing through Vermont. At least tomorrow is expected to be the warmest day for the next week, though it'll only be around 30F.
-
It's raining; probably going to freeze overnight, and potentially close my college.
-
It actually snowed yesterday. Like always, it was just a tad too warm for snow :rolleyes
-
Hurray, it's snowing again!
-
A bit chilly but sunny. Not as cold as it was yesterday or Monday.
-
Not as cold, but we are getting snow now. I kept hoping we'd get more.
However, we could have a second Ice Age and they'd still be demanding funding for climate change so my hopes aren't high that these cold winters will get them to spend their money elsewhere. (Heck, maybe they are fighting global warming too hard. :lol )
-
We had a bit of a storm today, it's all being blown over from the Cyclone which hit Queensland last week, a bit of the storm drifted over to New South Wales and is going right through the West side of state, thankfully it wasn't too bad.
And we needed the rain as our dams and lakes were starting to go a bit dry, we got some heavy wind well not super heavy but about 24km/h, a bit of hail and thunder and lightning. Besides a few close strikes nothing bad at all. Expect one of my dogs freaked out and injured himself in the panic.
He will be perfectly fine though.
With only 2 days left of Summer you can start to feel the Autumn breeze coming in,some of the trees are starting to die back, already getting falling leaves, and it's starting to get chilly a night, well chilly for Australia this time of year at about 16?C.
It actually does get freezing in Australia in winter, and it does snow. Though you don't get snow everywhere.
The town I live it gets daily snow in Winter and can drop to about -6?C.
And for Australia, that is stone cold.
So while most of you people here are preparing for all the warmth of Spring and Summer.
I'm preparing for the bitter cold of Autumn and Winter. When it's Summer for you lot, I'll be in Winter. Completely reserved.
Though I know why, still find it really weird.
Even sitting here I'm starting to get a bit chilly
-
However, we could have a second Ice Age and they'd still be demanding funding for climate change so my hopes aren't high that these cold winters will get them to spend their money elsewhere. (Heck, maybe they are fighting global warming too hard. dino_laugh.gif )
Global warming can only be seen globally. Locally, it might be colder than usual (American winters lately as an example) but many places are reveiving a whole lot more warmth than their fair share is (Germany for example has exceeded an annual average temperature of 10?C/50?F for the first time in 2014 since temperatures were first measured back in 1864 or something like that. That was about 2?C above the average we're getting here... just to show the other side of the coin ;))
-
Nice weather in the South. Ideal for work C:
-
Spring is forecasted to arrive in Europe next week, yay! Got my first storm of the year as well... and there was a F2 tornado some 20 miles away from my home during that night... scary :o
-
It's the first day of Spring here!!
.... and it's snowing :bang
Screw New England...
-
It's been a constant change from sunny and mild to cloudy and chilly lately. The next few days should be rather rainy (not even cold) and really stormy.
-
It is really cold here... just how I like it :)
-
It's been hot and rainy the past week and I have been hating it. Today was pretty cool, and cloudy and windy. Unfortunately, it's going to get hot and rainy again. I'm never going to get to mow the lawn. <_<
Also, the air conditioning is broken. Woohoo, spring .... I'm dreading summer.
-
After the storm, we have showery weather with snow and graupel/small hail :p Weather apparently decided to play me an April's Fool of its own :lol
-
My area is under an 'Enhanced Risk' for severe storms today according to the National Weather Service, with a 30% chance of hail and damaging winds. Ah, the joys of spring.
-
I'm experiencing these so-called joys of spring as well. :D
The big storm was a few days ago, but we still have pretty strong winds, rain and hailstorms all the time.
At least that means there is no pollen in the air. I can actually smell things during spring for a change. xD
-
Yesterday, it was the warmest it's been in months, at around the low 60sF. Then the temperatures last night dropped back below freezing and another blizzard blew through the area.
This is why I don't like spring or fall as much as summer or winter. The temperatures are always much more variable from day to day.
-
This weekend, temperatures reached the mid 60s F, and tomorrow is expected to hit 70F before cooling back down to 60s and 50s later in the week. In addition, according to the thermometer in my room, the humidity has gone up to 30%, after being at around 20% all winter. With all this in mind, it looks like winter weather here in Vermont is over for now.
-
Ok temperature wise, thundering and a bit rainy. But far better then winter to me.
-
It's really warm and sunny right now. We are forecasted to get as much as 75?F, possibly even 80 which is quite warm for this time of the year :yes
-
Just got hit by the line of storms in the southern U.S. Lots of rain, wind, lightning, thunder, and a tornado in the northwest part of my parish. Storm hit hard. The rain was parallel to the ground.
-
^I've seen some pretty nasty pictures from the US storms today. Crazy storms...
Speaking of storms, while it's currently just raining over here after a period of two weeks with almost no rain at all, the southern and eastern parts of Germany get the first serious storms this year today. Temperatures used to be around 70?F, now dropping to 50 :p
-
Temperatures this weekend reached the mid 70s F, and tomorrow is expected to reach 80F with thunderstorms. With this in mind, I decided to think ahead and put in the air conditioner in my room, thus marking the start of summer weather by my personal standards. (Looking back at the date of my previous post, it looks like I got to enjoy only three weeks of what I would consider spring weather.)
-
Quite sunny and temperate, which is always welcome in Ohio!
-
It was raining quite a lot during the weekend. Now very moist, warm air masses are heading to Germany and they're gonna result in thunderstorms tomorrow. Probably won't get hit because... storms usually avoid my place under these conditions :p
UPDATE: I was not hit but there were some crazy tornados in northern Germany! I must say this is something different than hearing about the crazy tornados the US frequently has...
-
We're about to get slammed again with another line of storms. When will they stop?
-
It's been rather cool and cloudy lately, no significant amount of rain though. June looks more promising according to some forecasts :)
-
Pretty good lately!
http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/c...alberta/calgary (http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/canada/alberta/calgary)
Staying nice and warm but a bit of rain coming. As long as isn't another "Flood of 2013" I'm fine with some rain though. :lol
-
It's been raining everyday here. It's not continuous rain either. It would basically rain at somepoint during the day and then stop for a bit. It would then start again and stop by evening. In some cases, it only rains for an hour or so. This has been happening for the past three weeks.
However, according to the weather forecast, this on and off storm is coming to an end and nothing but sunshine is on the way. It's seems tomorrow is the last day of this storm. :)
-
The first heat wave of the year is approaching. About time if you ask me :)
-
Guys I'm melting :p For a few days now we're having quite an intense heat wave with temperatures around 100 ?F/40?C. And tomorrow looks like Germany is gonna be ripped apart by storms. Some say it'll be like last year when a huge storm destroyed quite a bit of western Germany and killed 4 people. Hope that doesn't happen again and I hope we don't get yet another strong tornado...
-

Welcome to my world, Germany..hat is pretty much Australian Summer..just without the massive droughts and bushfires. Just stay in the shade, in Australia heatstroke is crazy in Summer and on average 4 people die per year in Australia from intense heat. And even more people die because of bushfires.
I didn't even know Germnay got that hot.
But right now, Australia is freezing over. -6?C/21.2?F right now, and for Australia that is freezing cold, we got snow everyday for the past week, there is snow and ice everywhere, July is the coldest month for Australia and it sure is proving that fact right now, my teeth are chattering sitting here.
Dear, Germany.
We want our sun back.
~Signed, Australia.
In all serious now, I'm just trying to stay warm, also there is a massive Flu outbreak in my area right now...not fun. Hopefully we will all be okay though.
-

Same here man. This'll be the first day where it'll probably stay lower than 30C, but god it's been awful. No way to properly cool down where I live :(
-
Same here, Iris. Almost 30?C in my room alone and it's even warmer outside...
-
Snow...just snow..
I got pictures, they are big sorry can't figure out how to resize.

^ that.
The town woke up to a Winter Wonderland, we currently have 4 inches and the stuff is still falling.
This is the coldest Winter in 30 years, we are actually expecting a blizzard in the next few days. And the temperatures are dropping, NSW is freezing over.
We had an awful storm last night, really strong winds. It was confirmed a mini-tornado no one was hurt luckily. We're expected to have least of snow 3 meters of snow by the end of the week.
I do love what they are calling this though 'The Big Freeze' it amuses me for some reason...
-
Crazy stuff happening here man.
We're on serve weather warning across the state. Flash flood, heavy hail, heavy rainfall, heavy winds, thunder, lightning.
It like NSW is having it's own 2012..in 2015. My town really hasn't been hit to hard yet, but a tornado did go through a neighbouring town, luckily do deaths or major injures reported.
Though now everyone is worried about another Tornado since the last one came from nowhere with little to no warning, and Tornadoes aren't really common this part of Australia.
In another town the dam broke and flooded the whole town, they had to evacuate everyone who lived there.
We just finished recovering everything from April 'mini cyclones' and now there is gonna be more 'cyclonic storms'.
And if you think I'm kidding about the tornado, I am not. http://www.skynews.com.au/news/top-stories...nsw-s-west.html (http://www.skynews.com.au/news/top-stories/2015/08/25/mini-tornado-sweeps-through-nsw-s-west.html)
I live in that area...why me...

Over here, it's finally not raining. It's a clear day :) clouds in the sky though #tiredofrain.

We're in for the probably last warm summer-like days before autumn kicks in :p
-
Just like last year, it seems the hottest days of summer are not in July or August, but rather in September. <_< When I woke up this morning, the temperature in my room was close to 85F, which means it must've been even hotter outside. And just a few hours ago, my laptop suddenly shut off due to overheating (this is why I can't play any videos for more than and hour, but now it seems that not even leaving them paused will prevent this), so I decided to start a habit of literally holding my laptop right in front of the running air conditioner for a minute or two to cool it off.
If this summer goes the same way as last year, then it looks like I'll have to keep my air conditioner in until the end of October. -_-
-
Had our first freezing temperatures of the season last night, so my dad and I decided to take out all the air conditioners today. The hottest it's expected to get this week will be only 60F on Tuesday, so I figured now was a good time to do so.
-
Surprisingly warm!
14C today, can't complain for the middle of November! :yes
-
I don't exactly remember how warm it was, but last week in particular was unusually warm for early November. We actually had to occasionally open our windows because it got so hot indoors. (At least it didn't get so hot that I would've been tempted to put the air conditioner back in my room.)
This week, it's now cooled off down to around the mid 50s F, so aside from how cold my room always seems to get due to being on the north side of the house where there's no warming sunlight, I really don't have much to complain about.
-
It's the middle of December, it's 55F outside, and I have yet to see any snowfall here in Vermont. This is turning out to be quite a mild winter, so far.
-
Here in Chicago, our Decembers usually are white and cold on day one but this year it's different. We have only seen 2 snowfalls, that melted the next few days. The weather has been great and no snow & ice to cause chaos! Currently it's 50 degrees, that's a new for Chicago.
-
No snow for Germany either :( Just rain :p
-
It's Christmas Eve, and it got as high as 65F today. That's the kind of weather you would expect to see down in more southern states like Florida, but not up here in Vermont. It's absolutely crazy! I might even need to turn on the fan on my desk when I go to be tonight (something I usually do only in the summer months).
-
It's also very warm here in Germany... at least it's been sunny today unlike most of December :)
-
The weather here is a bit chilly to me this morning, but most folks would say it's a pleasant cool morning. Spring like temperatures for today's high. Though a cold front is supposed to come in Saturday or Sunday and then it'll be more normal type temperatures or this time of year.
-
Mild for now, considering it's Canada. :lol
-1 to -5 C all week. I'll take it. :yes
Nice break from last week's -20. :slap
-
We are now in the third day of extremely heavy rain, with over 6 inches having fallen thus far. and 2-3 inches more being projected in the next day Already there has been significant flooding on side streets, and some of the flood gates are in the process of being closed in the low-lying communities.
-
For the first time all winter, there is finally some snow on the ground here in Vermont. Temperatures this week are expected to be around the mid 30s F, so I can't be certain with how long that snow accumulation will last.
-
It's very snowy and icy.
-
Finally we've had a few days with frosty temperatures and snowfall. It's supposed to get warmer too soon though :(
-
A lot of rain hit here in Louisiana. The two lakes nearby, Vernon and Anacoco, have flooded and they're planning on releasing the flood gates. Might have to evacuate if Bayou Anacoco gets too high from the release of the water. It's already way past the bridges and up to the roads.
-
The weather has turned quite nice in southern Illinois. We are currently enjoying sunny skies and temperatures in the lower 70s.
-
Very mild winter and spring here in Alberta. Looking at 7 to 13 C all week.
Overall it's been unseasonably warm all winter - beautiful season this year. We broke a record a few weeks ago, hitting 17 C in early February. Unheard-of. :o :)littlefoot
-
The last winter season that wasn't too warm, was 2010... That being said, spring is knocking on my door as well though it's still rather cool (temps in the 40-50 range)
-
Last night it was snowing! Even the weather decided to prank me on April 1st :p Was all sunny and not too cold today actually...
-
Rainy (which I love) 💗🌧
-
^so do I, yep, yep, yep! ^^spike It can be very relaxing hearing the rain fall on the roof and on the vegetation outside. But sunny weather is always appreciated as well :)
We've had both these last few days actually... spring has certainly arrived now and trees are beginning to turn green and the meadows are now dotted with flowers.
-
I don't mind the rain much. It is peaceful and nice to listen to. I also love watching thunder storms as well. They're very fun to watch.
-
I also love watching thunder storms as well. They're very fun to watch.
Oh yes, totally! :lol
We have a mixture of sunny and more of less rainy days here lately. All the while, it stays more or less mild. Temperatures ranging between 55-75 ?F Still waiting for the first thunderstorm this year :p
-
Warm and rainy. :p
25-29C in coming days and a lot of rain. I'm okay with that. Nice days, refreshing rain...How can I say no? :)
-
It's 72 degrees right now and it's a very warm night witch is good. A nice night to just sit outside for a bit.
-
Let me put it this way. Hot, Hot, Hot, and more Hot.
-
Yeah it's getting hot here as well. But I'm not complaining since I love the warm weather a lot.
-
I just let this photo speak for itself.
There goes the warm weather, lol. Luckily I'm going to someplace in the desert tomorrow, and no it's not a joke. Can't wait. :)littlefoot
-
Just had a freak wind storm at my place earlier this afternoon. Some trees branches ended up all over the place, and even some neighbor's inflatable kiddie pool ended up in our yard (which of course we returned after the storm passed). My dad's garden also got damaged when the wooden posts holding up the bean plants broke and toppled over (I was actually watching them right at the moment it happened). And the power briefly flickered out twice (causing me to lose some progress on the game of Civilization V I was playing today).
Not long after the wind finally died down, we got a little bit of rain afterwards, but that doesn't really compare to the crazy winds we had just moments earlier.
-
Fine where I live it's very got here right now.
-
Hot, Hot, Hot, Hot, did I mention Hot.
-
I'll second that. We've had heat advisories two days in a row. The heat itself isn't too bad, but the humidity is killer.
-
I'll second that. We've had heat advisories two days in a row. The heat itself isn't too bad, but the humidity is killer.
Oh yeah the humidity is really killing me here in the Florida.
-
I know it's hot here but it doesn't feel hot at all where I live.
-
Ok I'm very worried now there is a huge cyclonic like storm system with an eye and everything, damaging winds and torrential rains that has hit Southern Australia, a temperate zone. The storm has hit the state South Australia and they now have a state wide black out and the storm is heading for my home state, I have a bad feeling about this. Storms like this shouldn't occur at this latitude but the fact that this one has really freaks me out. Just hoping we get through it okay.
-
It's gonna rain today and be a bit cool.
-
Last week was rather warm, especially for this time of year. This week, it's now cooled off so much that it's actually starting to snow today. Definitely time to take out the air conditioners in my house.
-
It's raining today I'm home and not doing anything tomorrow. It's getting cold here but no snow yet thank god I hate snow.
-
It's pretty decent out now it's cloudy and it's 43 degrees out,
-
Freezing. Well not yet. By 9 it'll be at freezing and it will drop to 29 F later in the night. Lovely weather. :yes
-
The night before yesterday, we got some freezing rain, resulting in a layer of ice over everything outside (my mom couldn't even get her car door open), so a lot of schools and businesses were closed yesterday. Today, we got some warmer weather and even had the sun come out for a few hours. I actually saw the ice was melting so quickly off the tree branches that it was like it was raining.
The strange thing about this winter is that whenever we get snowfall, it doesn't seem to last very long, so for much of this month, there has actually been little to no snow on the ground at all! (quite unusual for Vermont in January)
-
weather are in germany is unusually stable lately. We've had some cold weather and snow early this month and then we just got dry and cold weather, sometimes cloudy and sometimes sunny. Snow is about to melt though as it gets warmer soon but there's not supposed to be much precipation within the next week either.
Oh well, this is better than rain at 50?F which is what we got quite frequently these last 2-3 years in winter over here..
-
It's about 41 degrees here kinda cold but it's winter so it's acceptable. Not much snow here thank god since snow sucks.
-
With the rainstorm expected tomorrow and the much warmer temperatures expected next week, looks like winter weather here in Vermont is now over.
It's kinda strange how I'm noticing a peculiar pattern that seems to have been going on for the last few years. No significant snowfall arrives until around Christmas (around a month later than would typically be expected), and some of the biggest snowfall of the year tends to occur in late March and early April (after what's supposed to be the beginning of spring).
-
It's been really sunny here in Houston, TX, and little to no clouds in the sky over the past
several days.
-
It's been cold and raining here for a few days.
-
Lots and lots of rain. The river that flows under the two bridges to get to town will most likely be flooded tomorrow, meaning no one will be able to get in or out through those ways without taking a big detour to the east.
-
The temperature has been at least 15 degrees at 7 in the morning lately; and that's fine; but, it gets hot even before noon and it's not even summer time.
-
SUN
HOT
NO CLOUDS
summer has finally come here
-
It's gonna be 70 degrees and rainy today I don't mind rainy weather
-
It's been rather warm but mixed lately... thunderstorms about twice a week.
Now we've had a couple rainy days, nature really needs that rain over here...
-
Cloudy, yet warmth and nice to be outside... which is great in winter.
-
Rain and wind. Alas, not the warm kind. It's the kind that makes you question your decision of going out for a walk. Still drying myself and drinking hot chocolate :p
-
Getting dampy here. may start to rain
-
Cold and snowy here in Colorado Springs.
-
Cold. Snow. Sun.
in lkast weeks.
AKA PERFECT WEATHER. AT LAST.
-
Temperatures as high as 50F with heavy rain, unusual weather for Vermont at this time of year. No white Christmas for us this year.
-
We had perfect spring the best in my life, perfect summer the best in my life, perfect autumn the best in my life, and now, after almost 1 month of winter - everything leads to the best perfect winter in my life!!!
temperature is from -5C to -15C, no some freezy snowstorms, only normal amount of snow, and no rains or flooded water.
-
The way I see it, after looking at the forecast, my area in Western New York won't get a white Christmas, either. Just nothing but grayness with temperatures around 30F.
-
Yeah Sneak that's pretty much been the same over in Alberta for winter so far, nothing below -15C yet (though it tends to get the coldest around January so it remains to be seen how cold it will get this winter)
Pretty easy for a white Christmas up here. Back in the day we'd also get a white Halloween :lol
-
The way I see it, after looking at the forecast, my area in Western New York won't get a white Christmas, either. Just nothing but grayness with temperatures around 30F.
Okay, I take that back. I woke up this morning, and looked out the window to see the ground covered in snow. The Weather Channel initially seemed to forecast nothing but cloudy skies without any mention of snow, but I guess Christmas can bring some form of surprises after all. :smile
-
On a not so happy note, I woke up this morning and was told of the high chance of hurricane-force winds possibly striking my area on Sunday. Gusts up to 75 MPH have been forecast throughout upstate New York, and my city of Buffalo could face one of its windiest days on record (all-time). :opetrie Unfortunately, this means the probably of power outages lasting for several days, and this may slow down my progress on my February fanfic prompt entry that I've been making steady progress on. Chances are, I probably won't be online for several days after that. :( I'm hoping for the best...
-
Oh man. I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully it won't be too rough.
Weather for me has been pretty good now. Finally moved passed the -30C temperatures and into the -10 to -20 range.
-
Second week of melting are here.
Though yesterday it became frozen again.
-
I'm now in the final few hours of the aforementioned windstorm that has significantly damaged Western New York. Many trees and lines are down, and around 50,000 customers have lost power, including two bus terminals, leading to school cancellations. Winds constantly gusted over 50 MPH, sometimes even up to 60. Astonishingly, through it all, my power remained intact, although my roof has lost some shingles, many of which landed on the front lawn next door. I'm just grateful that nobody was killed, although two people in Buffalo suffered minor injuries from fallen light posts. Yeesh.
-
20 °C in late February is truly impressive over here...
-
It's around 50F with on and off rain, here in Vermont.
-
Rain, rain, go away! Come again another day! Especially with the fact that I want to do business with a certain someone which will require me to send something of mine by mail that I want to be modified. x(cera
-
I love the rain. :^^spike
Although it is not raining at the moment here. It's a fairly warm, sunny day out, which is still pleasant.
-
Sun has finally returned here to me where it belongs. So lovely. :)
-
For me, tonight is nice and cool, with the temperature low at 40F (~4.4 Celsius) and Mostly Clear Skies. Good weather, but the rest of the week is either cloudy or rainy though. That's fine by me though, it stays much cooler like that. Speaking of which, my area has only reached at or above 70F one time so far.
-
Last week was moderately warm for the most part. Yesterday we had an unexpected snowfall and thus it was a colder day out. The snow is already melting, but it's still fairly cool today.
-

Ah yes, snow. On Long Island where I reside, it seemed like in the 2017-2018 winter season, it kept snowing so much every month. December, January (where we had one blizzard), February, March, and even a Winter Weather Advisory on April 2nd with Snow! The 2016-2017 season was much the same, except no April snow and the blizzard occurred in February. But wow! Contrast that to 2018-2019 winter, where we had barely anything at all, but then it suddenly starts snowing in March, I mean uh... what? It wasn't much either anyway, probably like ~6-8 inches for the season.
-
Seems like the sun is not on the good mood today. Might start raining soon. :( Although I feel bit hot. It's about 8 °C right now.
-
The sun is not in a good mood today here either, nope, nope, nope. It also started snowing several minutes ago.
-
Well my area has been in a cloudy or rain streak the past couple of days already, with more rain expected Saturday Night and throughout Sunday. Typical spring weather. But good news...sunshine returning for three days starting Monday next week! :)
Temperature today peaked at 69 °F (~20.55 °C) Expected to be 14° cooler tomorrow, but rebounding to about the same temperature the following day.
The sun is not in a good mood today here either, nope, nope, nope. It also started snowing several minutes ago.
Well, our days of snow are long gone here.
-
Well the snow is gone now. It was a pretty brief snowfall. It's a little warmer here today, but still somewhat cool. About 15°C. It's also been consistently cloudy out. It looks like it's about to start raining, but it hasn't yet.
-

I do wonder what constitutes hot or cold for you. I can go out without a jacket at 40°F (~4.4°C) and be just fine, albeit with weak or no wind. And in the summer, while it is pretty uncommon for it to go above 90°F (32.2°C), it's always feels MUCH hotter due to the humidity, even though most of the time the temperature ranges from the upper 70s to the lower & mid 80s (25°C - 30°C).
It's also uncommon for the dew point in the summer to be at 55°F (12.8°C) or lower, the level at where people would feel comfortable. I would like a dry heat for once, thank you very much. :(
But then again, being near the coast you should expect conditions like that. :P
-
For me, 15°C is in the range of being neither cool nor warm, which is often ideal for me. I was wearing a hoodie today when I was out walking, but I think there was a bit of a breeze. Even with no wind, however, I almost certainly would be wearing a jacket if it were 5°C out, but then again I like to wear hoodies a lot in general.
-
And today the sun is back again. :duckyhappy

Interesting, I thought you would be more resilient to the cold than I am. But then again, you wear hoodies a lot like you said. ;)
Still waiting for the sunshine to return on Monday for me. I don't mind the clouds though as it feels much cooler with it.
Also, rain for me tonight and tomorrow. It seems like in total we will be getting at least 1.25 inches (3.175 cm) of rain before it subsides.
-
^Which is funny, because I otherwise don't mind the cold much. I'm more tolerant of it than a lot of people I know. As long as I'm dressed up properly, even on a frosty day, I'm all set.
...which is good for me this weekend because it is cloudy and cold right now, and it's been snowing again, albeit mildly.
-
...which is good for me this weekend because it is cloudy and cold right now, and it's been snowing again, albeit mildly.
You're still getting snow even though daytime temperatures are getting into the 15°C and above range? You're having that snow at night, right? If so, then that's a huge temperature contrast from day to night. On average, when do you stop seeing snow?
That reminds me. One time in February very recently, the temperature in the day peaked at 60°F (~15.5°C), which is abnormally above average. But, a Blizzard Warning was also issued which was going to take effect that night. The temperature dropped to 32°F (0°C) and snow would start falling after midnight. Then the next day was a full blown blizzard with snow accumulating about 8-12 inches (20.32-30.48 cm). The snow ended that evening and the overnight low was forecasted at 16°F (~ -8.8°C).
-
Nah, it hasn't been snowing when it's above 0°C. At least not as far as I've noticed. :olittlefoot
It has been snowing off and on throughout the daytimes this week, but the temperatures have been fluctuating. It was 15°C yesterday and so we didn't get snow that day. Today it was around 5°C and so it didn't snow throughout most of the day. Later in the evening, however, it began to snow, so the temperature must've dropped a little by then.
As for when on average we stop seeing snow, that's a tough question to answer because it can vary a lot. And I often forget exactly what happened in previous years. Regardless, early May is certainly an usual time for us to be seeing snow. But then again it doesn't surprise me as the weather here can be rather random and unpredictable. :P
-
Believe or not, even bordering the coast where I am we can even have a 40°F (~22.2°C) temperature differential between day and night time, but it's very uncommon and it only happens during spring, autumn, and maybe winter. Also, a cold front would need to be passing through as well.
-
week of coldness again.
-
^That's too bad, cause sun once again has returned more brighter than ever before. :)
-
Well the snow has vanished here and it is a nice sunny day out, albeit still only 12°C.
-
Sunny skies today, hooray! Nice breezy conditions outside too. :Mo
Today reached about 68°F (20°C).
Tomorrow is a bit cooler, at around 63°F (~17.2°C), with Mostly Sunny Skies.
-
Still sunny out, but still rather mild as well. 14°C today.
-
Today's temperature peaked at 69°F (~20.56°C) with Mostly Sunny Skies. Wow, still hasn't broken the 70°F mark, I see. And by the looks of the ten day forecast, seems like it won't for a while (although it is kind of close to it).
Tonight is expected to drop to 47°F (~8.3°C) with Partly Cloudy Skies.
-
I'm in love with the forecast starting from Sunday-Tuesday. :cerahappy
Very cool and comfortable for the Middle of May at this point.
Day / Night
Sunday: Showers - 52°F / 45°F (~11.1°C / ~7.2°C)
Monday: Showers - 54°F / 44°F (~12.2°C / ~6.7°C)
Tuesday: Showers - 53°F / 45°F (~11.7°C / ~7.2°C)
Starting Saturday next week and beyond we are getting close to that 70°F (~21.1°C) mark!
-
It sounds like we're similar in that we both enjoy cooler days. It's supposed to be rather warm today, up to 24°C, but I'm looking forward to later in the week when the days will be around the 10°C mark.
-
It honestly felt pretty chilly especially with the light/moderate rain lasting all day pretty much. Another inch (2.54 cm) of rain accumulated for this event.
Tomorrow will be much warmer though, with a high of 64°F (~17.8°C), and the day after that it'll be 68°F (20°C).
It's supposed to be rather warm today, up to 24°C, but I'm looking forward to later in the week when the days will be around the 10°C mark.
Wow, very warm for Canada, I must say. I've seen many places up there almost reaching 80°F (~26.7°C), but my area hasn't reach close to that yet!
-
Seems to be a warm day today here, sun is out bright, and the temperature is 13°C, so not bad. :)
-
For the rest of the week, I'll be expecting my temperatures to hover between the 18°C to 20°C, and next week it'd be a bit warmer. I could finally be seeing a 70°F day or maybe multiple before the month of May ends. Also, besides from a couple of showers or so for certain days, I see a dry streak of weather starting to come along for once! :yes
-
The cooler weather I was mentioning before has arrived, and it looks like it'll stay for the rest of the week. It's a much cloudier day out this morning than it was yesterday. Despite it, though, I would like to go out for a long walk today.
:cerahappy
-
I'm certainly feeling the warmer temperatures here. The night time lows throughout the week are expected to be between 12-15°C. So now, it feels more mild than cool at night. It's currently 64°F (~17.8°C) as of the time I'm posting, but it will drop to around 11°C before the sun rises. But still, I'd be going to bed feeling warmer than I'd be comfortable with.
-
For the last few days it has been quite warm and I've got a couple of sunburns as well. And those are not cool, not at all. :(
-
Today is expected to reach exactly 70°F (~21.1°C) with Partly Cloudy Skies. Comfortable dew point of 41°F (5°C) :^^spike
It feels nice to not have to go outside with any jacket what so ever.
I wouldn't want to be in the Southeast of the United States though. Their temperatures are way above average, some even breaking records for the month of May. The dry weather down there also doesn't help them, as it seems like it'll be prolonged. That high pressure dome of heat, though.
-
It feels nice to not have to go outside with any jacket what so ever.
Oh, I agree. Feels absolutely fantastic! I just have to either remember to put sunscreen on my arms, legs and such when going outside now or just wear a long-sleeved shirt and jeans. I don't want to burn any more. :DD
-
Today was warmer than I thought. It reached 74°F (~23.3°C). It was pretty breezy during the entire day so it felt more comfortable. But once it started to get cloudy in the afternoon, I could really feel the difference, it was much cooler. :D
Scattered thunderstorms for tonight, but I usually don't get much from a forecast like this at all. The temperature only drops to 61°F (~16°C), so sleeping might be more uncomfortable than usual. But when summer really takes full effect, those night time temps will be all the norm.
-
Weather forecast this week is pretty much all over the place. Today and tomorrow will have a chance of thunderstorms with tomorrow getting as high as 80F. Then the day after on Tuesday, it'll clear up and temperature will drop down to less than 60F, and then much of the rest of the week will be up to the low 70s F, with a chance of rain on Saturday.
This past week had be relatively cooler, with temperatures around the low 60s F. With this week's forecast in mind, I decided it was time to put in the air conditioner in my room, and it seems my dad decided to do the same for all the other rooms in the house. Summer weather has now officially arrived.

Warmest day of the week (or month I shall say) for me, with the temperature peaking at around 82°F (~27.8°C). Tonight though is a considerable difference, dropping to around 56°F (~13.3°C). Despite the dew point hovering around 64°F (~17.8°C), today didn't feel that bad too be honest. It was also pretty breezy outside too, so that also contributed to a more comfortable day.
Tomorrow is much cooler with a much lower humidity than today. About 20°C to be precise.
-
Today's been awful. 93F (around 33.8 C) around here with nearly 60% humidity!
-
^ Yikes! That's pretty intense, all right.
Much different for me here. We're well into May now and we've had a lot of cloudy and cool days. 9°C for me right now. A lot of people I know have complained about how far along spring is and yet it still hasn't been very warm... but I don't mind personally. In fact, I'm kind of enjoying the cooler days while they last, as I know it'll be pretty toasty once summer comes around.
-
Today's been awful. 93F (around 33.8 C) around here with nearly 60% humidity!
I agree with you and StardustSoldier. With around 60% humidity, the dew point should be 77°F (25°C) according to the dew point calculators I used online. According to a heat index calculator, it would feel like 107°F (~41.7°C). :wow
"Yikes!" is correct. That's very oppressive humidity if you ask me. My area has never reached that high of a dew point before, I'm pretty sure (maybe actually). Hopefully a cold front will pass by for you soon!
Alright, now for the weather in my area. Today feels much cooler and comfortable with Sunny Skies. It's perfect weather honestly. Temperature peaked at 71°F (~21.7°C), with a dew point of 34°F (~1°C) and a humidity of 26%.
The winds being around 15-25 mph was also nice. Overall, I love the weather today. :DD
-
I remember one day last summer where it got up to 40°C.
:olittlefoot
-
Interestingly enough, the all time record high for my area was 104°F (40°C). It was set back in July 3, 1966.
-
Those are intense heats. Where I'm going this summer, it's gonna be upwards of 110F (43.3C!)
-
Phew. Been a really hot past couple of days. Goes from 10-12°C to suddenly 16-18°C. And apparently next week will be about 22°C.
-
With the 30+ Celsius weather here, I'd be thankful for 16!
-

Those temperatures you're describing is not very hot at all. In fact, it's ideal and comfortable, not too hot or cold.
Alright, well maybe you're not used to that type of weather, or perhaps you're exaggerating. Either way, we do all have different preferences for what hot and cold feels like.
Alright, now for today's weather. :D Very similar to yesterday actually. Temperature peaked at 74°F (~23.3°C) with a dew point of 35°F (~1.7°C), which makes the humidity 24%.
Tomorrow on the other hand will be much more humid, but the daytime high will only reach 65°F (~18.3°C). Thunderstorms expected for the late afternoon and into evening before drying out overnight with Partly Cloudy Skies and a low of 60°F (~15.6°C).

I'm not actually complaining. It is just a wonderful experience to have these kind of temperatures right now. Last spring was pretty dull. And it can get very hot indeed if you're working outside about 5-6 hours/day. I actually got a few sunburns few days ago, although that can be blamed on me for not putting any sunscreen on before going out. These temperatures are hot for me in particular. We do not really get 35-40°C in Finland. :)
-
Sorry about that sarcastic remark, and yeah I do see that it doesn't really get that hot in Finland at all. It seems like you folks there have very harsh winters and very mild summers. It totally makes sense why you would welcome temperatures like these. Everyone does, no matter where you live. I was only reacting to the statement, "Been a really hot past couple of days." I honestly thought you were referring to the actual temperature, not the feeling you get after working outside for so long.

No problem. I could have been more specific in my previous posts about that. Yes, I have heard many foreigners claim that Finland is a very cold place to live. But we locals are used to it, so it does not bother us that much. :)
-
Hehe, I guess you can say that I'm grateful for living near the coastal region, where winters are not as cold as inland, and summers are not as hot as the inland areas. The coldest it has gotten here temperature wise was in February of 1967, when it only got to -14°F (~ -25.6°C). It's rare that my place ever gets into the negatives during the winter. Temps in the single digits and teens are very common however. It can even get into the teens in April. But May is a huge cut off though, only getting as low as the freezing point at most.
Just to specify, I'm referring to Fahrenheit when I'm talking about "single digits and teens" In Celsius that would be pretty warm, relative to winter anyways. :p
-
Got a decent amount of rain today which is nice to see. Hopefully it will stretch far enough north to help with the wildfires a bit. Pretty good temperature range as well with around 13oC

Yeah there's always a couple weeks of winter here where it gets down to the -30 to -35oC range, though a good chunk of North America got hit pretty hard this winter. My hometown was as cold as -52oC with windchill at one point. Good thing I wasn't visiting at the time :p

Wildfires in Canada!? There's many active wildfires in Alberta I see. Is it affected by drought just like California was?
And yeah, winter did hit us hard plenty of times. There were weeks where the night time lows were in the single digits for days in a row.
Just a tip to make typing the degree symbol much easier. For °, just press Alt + 0176 on your keyboard. It's actually easy to memorize. :)
Now, you try! °

Yeah they're also caused by dry weather and have picked up a good amount in the last few years. Not as big as the fires in California last summer though.
That's an interesting shortcut, thanks! I'll try to remember it in the future haha. Most of the time I'm usually lazy and drop it all together and just do 30C or whatever.

It appears that the sun has disappeared once more and it has been raining for a while now. Not that I'm complaining. It's actually good for exchange, to wash all the pollen away.
The temperature today is 11°C.

Today will only reach 68°F (20°C), while tomorrow it will go up to a much warmer 83°F (~28.3°C). Yep, while summer is only a month away, the heat is sure arriving in intervals!
-
Today feels so much cooler, it does, it does! :duckyhappy
High temperature only expected to be 80°F (~26.7°C) with a dew point of 51°F (~10.6°C), so the humidity would be at 36%.
Yesterday was a pretty warm 87°F (~30.6°C) with a dew point of 61°F (~16°C) at its lowest, so the humidity was 42%. Could've been more comfortable, but it could've been much worse too. That little bit of rain we had yesterday evening too helped ease the heat a bit. :)

Today feels so much cooler, it does, it does!
It has been a lot cooler here as well. Which is not a bad thing at all. Hopefully we'll have a good weather for spending time at the summer cottage this week. That's something I've been awaiting for a long time. :yes

The high will only get to around 64°F (~17.8°C) with rain and scattered thunderstorms. The rest of the week seems promising, with temps only in the low 70s. I won't need that air conditioner just yet! As a matter of fact, I still didn't use my fan once either. :P

Hot for Alberta, isn't it? My area has only reached 30°C once so far this year despite being way farther down south than you. But then again, being near the coast keeps temperatures much cooler than inland.
Also, yay you remember how to type the degree symbol! °v°
Here, it's currently 66°F (~19°C) with Light rain in the area. Tomorrow will only get to 72°F (~22.2°C) with scattered thunderstorms for the afternoon and evening hours. The following day is basically the same temperature, give or take.
Also, here's a fun fact regarding droughts recently. Did you know that the Southeast region of Alaska recorded its first extreme drought ever since they started recording droughts in 2000? Very weird indeed, considering that it's supposed to be Alaska's wettest region. I thought this would be appropriate to share considering that we have been talking about Alberta wildfires and droughts too.
-
I did remember haha. Thanks again for the tip!
It's fairly hot for Alberta though it usually gets up into that range at some point during the summer (can get as high as around 35°C from what I recall in previous years, at least where I live).
I did not know about the drought in Alaska so thanks for the info! Though there's been studies done that the arctic is being hit hardest with climate change and is warming up at a faster rate then other parts of the world. Could lead to some bad positive feedback with melting ice reducing Earth's albedo as well was trapped methane being released into the atmosphere.
-
Yeah, I've heard of those trapped gasses in the ice before. Do you also think that the frequent arctic blast/polar vortex outbreaks in the United States is also related to Climate Change? I've read that it weakens the polar jet stream and allows frigid air to plunge deep southward from its usual area.
Currently, it's 62°F (16.7°C). For tonight's forecast, there's thunderstorms with heavy rain at times with a small chance of severe storms before clearing out at midnight or so. I do see on radar a band of heavy rain and thunderstorms heading east towards us. I hope it weakens or dissipates before hitting us, because it seems like there's already a couple of severe thunderstorm warnings associated with it at the same time. According to the hourly forecast, it's only about 2 hours away. Tomorrow is 68°F (20°C) with afternoon showers. I like this cool weather and I hope it stays that way. :)
-
I don't know enough to say if it is or not, but yeah the really cold weather happens when the jet stream that separates high and low pressure air is south of you which allows the arctic air to move in. This winter had it drop pretty far down though I really don't know enough about the weather system to say much on the subject haha.
As for weather for me, another 30°C today. Had to work outside for a bit today which wasn't too fun. Really don't miss the days of working out in this heat (and cold in winter) :p

Update on yesterday's weather. Basically the storm wasn't bad at all when it hit us. For the first half there were only a few rumbles of thunder and lightning. For the second half it was just pure rain. Lasted about 30 minutes or so. It was mostly light/moderate rain, with short periods of more heavier rain. But yet only less than 100 miles southwest of us, there are severe thunderstorm warnings associated with the same storm system. Entire states west of us actually had severe thunderstorm watches because of these storms that could potentially be severe.

Yesterday had a crazy amount of smoke creating a weird yellow haze. Kinda spooky. Got to talking about it on discord and decided to look up how far the smoke has spread and found this. https://shawglobalnews.files.wordpress.com/2019/05/wildfire-smoke.png?w=1200
Much better today though and a nice 16°C
-
Wow, nice find of that map that shows the extensive spread of the wildfire smoke. You can really see the darker shades being near the site of the burns in Canada, and surprising so much of that smoke has ended up in the United States too. Of course, there are also wildfires in the U.S, but I'm not sure if its as much as Canada has currently.
I hope you stay safe out there, especially from those dangerous fires! :)
It's ironic how a century or so of purposefully trying to fight and eliminate wildfires have actually caused them to overall become worse, as they burn much brighter and hotter than back in the day. The wildfires are actually part of a forest's natural cycle, where it clears out crowded or dead debris and foliage on the ground to allow for new growth to come in. Since we constantly put them out, lots of dry, flammable material is left for fires to use as fuel if one is happened to be sparked. Obviously homes, infrastructures, and whatnot need to be protected, but now we are working so much harder to put out wildfires because of it. Controlled/prescribed burns are great ways to lessen the severity of wildfires and even prevent them by clearing the dense foliage on the ground that was supposed to be done naturally. It also releases nutrients into the soil further helping the aid of growth. Some pinecone trees also need that heat from the fires to open their cones and disperse seeds on the ground. If you're interested about this topic, go search for it on Wikipedia. It's also interesting to know that according to Wikipedia, the indigenous people in North America and Australia have done prescribed burns, so it has been done way before us.
-
Yeah I didn't know that the fires were that extensive. Thanks for the concern, but I should probably be OK. Mostly just the smoke that I have to deal with so far. Thankfully there's only small towns in the north so it doesn't effect a large number of people, but as of right now about 10,000 people have been evacuated.
As for wildfire severity, it's not that big of a stretch to have global warming as a significant reason for the increase as disasters such as these have been predicated to get worse due to that very fact. Everything you've said makes sense as well for being a cause as well.
-
There haven't been any evacuations near where I live, but we got hit with a pretty strong wave of smoke ourselves. A couple days ago, it was so smoky out that the entire sky was this monotone, grey haze all around. You couldn't even see the sun. Although thankfully it cleared out soon after and it's a much nicer day out today. You can still see a bit of smoke along the horizon, but right now it's not too bad.
-
What do you guys do for the day when it's too smoky to do anything outside? Posting on the GOF, of course. :D
But seriously, what else would you do?
Scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon for me with a high of 74°F (~23.3°C) and a low of 57°F (~13.9°C).
Tomorrow is the coolest day for me, with a high of 69°F (~20.6°C) and a low of 50°F (10°C). Wow, that's the coolest nighttime temperature here since May 15, so I'm very happy about that. :)
-
Well we've only had one extremely smoky day so far this year, so it hasn't been too much of an issue yet. I remember both last year and the year before, there were quite a few smoky days, although sometimes I went out for long walks anyway.
On days when I am stuck inside, however, often I'll write, draw, or play video games.
-
Pretty much the same, minus the writing part. Other things have kept me occupied as well with things like learning some photo editing stuff.
But yeah, so far it's only really been one day where it's been really bad smoke wise.
-
Oh, do you like to draw too? :)
-
Interestingly enough, there was recently a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for my area. The winds increased and a very brief period of heavy rain followed, but other than that nothing significant occurred out of this thin line of thunderstorms. In fact, other than a few weak rumbles of thunder, it ended quickly afterwards.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to occasionally mention where we are so that our mentions of the weather actually make sense in a reasonable context. (I once tried bumping a topic recently about where members are from, but it seems no one was interested.)
Here in Vermont, spring has been remarkably mild compared to the last few years, with temperatures very rarely exceeding 70F, but that'll change after Wednesday, with the forecast for every day afterword to be in the low 70s F. Good thing I've already got my air conditioner in.
-
That seems cool, Anagnos! Did you go on vacation? What place did you travel to?
I guess you could call it a vacation of sorts. The place we travelled to with my parents is not far away from our home, maybe about 20-30min drive? Hard to say for sure, but something like that. We had a ton of fun at the summer cottage, celebrating not only my graduation but my mother's 50th birthday. ;)

Perhaps that would be a good decision. I have just posted the temperatures and completely forgotten to post where I am since I figured that people know me enough to know where I live. But anyway, I live in Finland. Today's temperature jumps around between 17-18°C for the most part, but has been predicted to rise to 21°C later. I'm liking these temperatures quite a lot. And I also have my air conditioner in case it gets too hot, but I can hardly complain right now. :)

It's still unbelievably hot in the southeastern US with 99 F (37 C) degrees and getting higher.

Yeah that's a good idea. I never bothered as most active people at the time knew where I lived.

I thought they would get some relief by now. Is there any rain in the forecast for you? Because all I see is sunshine, sunshine in the Southeast combined with that intense heat.

Rain in the morning to start, but sunshine by the afternoon. As expected, the cold front came through and dew point levels dropped significantly. Slow but steadily, the dew point went from 68°F (20°C) to a much more dry 46°F (~7.8°C) by 5 PM. Also expected, the temperature was a high of 77°F (25°C). Another comfortable day overall. :D

Today's temperature only reached a high of 76°F (~24.4°C), but it felt so uncomfortable and hot today. The humidity/dew point is a huge factor in this. It even felt more comfortable on one 87°F (~30.6°C) day I had earlier in the season, despite the dew point being at 61°F (~16.1°C).

Foggy conditions at the moment. Scattered showers or thunderstorms for the afternoon and night. High of 74°F (~23.3°).
-
I looked up "When does summer begin?" because I was curious about when it officially starts, and coincidentally it turns out it's tomorrow.
-
I looked up "When does summer begin?" because I was curious about when it officially starts, and coincidentally it turns out it's tomorrow.
11:54 am EDT to be exact, according to my astronomy calendar.
Had a brief thunderstorm yesterday, lots of regular rain today, enough so that much of Vermont has gotten flash flood warnings. Good thing my house is uphill from the nearby river. Temperatures are in the low 70s F, but for much of next week it'll be rather consistent at 80F.
-
It's been quite rainy here as well, although thankfully my city rests along the tops of the coulees, so we seldom ever have to worry about flooding here.
-
Almost same as usual, the temperature stays about between 24-28°C.
-
In the 8-18°C range for me today.
-
Happy Summer Solstice Day, everyone! :Mo
It was raining in the morning, but sunshine has returned finally. Dew point/Humidity levels have already dropped a decent amount. Tomorrow's temperature is expected to be 79°F (~26.1°C) with even lower dew point/humidity. Looks like there's going to be a lot of days in the low 80s or above coming according to the forecast.
-
A little cooler today. 19°C. It might even start raining soon, judging by the current weather.
-
A nice 23C today. We're expecting a heat wave next week, with temperatures up to 37C! Not looking forward to that (this is a culture where air condition is not a common thing).
-
Beautiful day with sunshine and a high of 79°F (~26.1°C). It feels so comfortable today because of the low humidity levels, especially when compared to the past five days. :D
-
The forecast says there's risk of a thunderstorm tonight. Fine by me. I love thunderstorms!
-
22°C and nothing like what StardustSoldier is having, so that's good. I'm not a big fan of thunderstorms. :sducky
-
Today was feeling a bit warmer than other days, but still comfortable nonetheless with low humidity, as the dew point was only 50°F (10°C). Today's high was 84°F (~28.9°C) with sunshine.
-
It's been quite warm here lately, too warm for my taste, really. Right now the temperature is 21°C and is expected to rise later today. I do enjoy warm weather, but there's a limit to how much I can take before going crazy (no pun intended).
-
What is generally an ideal temperature for you guys? For me it's around 15-20°C.
-
About the same as yours.
-
Ideal day temperatures would be 10°C - 20°C. Ideal night time temperatures for me would be 0°C - 10°C.
Today's temperature is 86°F (30°C) with the exact same dew point as yesterday, so humidity levels are low again. Partly Cloudy Skies today. :)
-
Today's temperature here is 19°C.
-
I would agree on the 10-20°C range. 15°C is a nice sweet spot.
Got a good amount of rain here the last couple of days, which I'm not minding at all.
-
Today is much cooler than yesterday temperature wise, with a high of 73°F (~22.8°C). But, the dew point is much higher today, at around 70°F (~21.1°C). While it does feel very sticky today, it's actually slightly more comfortable than yesterday, especially because it was cloudy today.
-
It's much cooler around here as well. Right now the temperature is 14°C. I have to say that this is way more comfortable to me compared to the previous temperatures. Of course, I like a good sunny weather as much as anyone, but sometimes you just want some change from that heat. It's also looking a bit cloudy here too. Who knows, it might start raining soon.
-
Today, we're back to much warmer temperatures again with a high of 87°F (~30.6°C). With the dew point being around 59°F (15°C) most of the day, it doesn't feel oppressive at all, but rather it could be more comfortable today. Trust me, if the dew point was the same as yesterday, it would feel so, so hot today. A dry heat makes all the difference in the summer, folks! :DD
-
Today seems to be the time for an overcast day coming up. The temperature is approximately 15°C. The chance of precipitation is also quite large, but it would not really be a hindrance if it rained even a little bit.
-
Today is Mostly Sunny Skies with the temperature peaking at 88°F (~31.1°C). Summer is really taking full effect here already it seems.
-
Looks like every day for the next week is going to have temperatures in the 80s F (with the exception of Sunday, which will only reach 71F). There will also be a chance of thunderstorms this weekend, with the rest of the week after being a mix of clear days and rainy days.
-
Well, it did indeed rain yesterday which was a good thing. Today's temperature is 17°C and will be mostly sunny. A great day to take a walk outside. :)
-
Today is my first 90°F (~32.2°C) day! :wow
Dew point at 54°F (~12.2°C) for most of the day until the late afternoon, when it rose a decent amount.
Tomorrow is Partly Cloudy Skies in the morning, but in the afternoon there's a 40% chance of scattered severe thunderstorms, some which may produce large hail and strong winds. Hopefully there won't be any bad storms tomorrow!
-
Today's temperature is 17°C and will be partly cloudy today.
-
Today is my second 90°F (~32.2°C) day! :wow
It's much more humid today, with the dew point at 70°F (~21.1°C), give or take.
Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms expected this late afternoon into evening, chance of rain 50%. Some storms may contain large hail and damaging winds. Hit or miss? Hopefully it'll be a miss for my area. So far today, it has been Partly Cloudy.
Just five miles south of my area a severe thunderstorm warning was issued, which ended at 4:15 PM. Based on the radar, it looked like a tiny supercell with heavy rain.
*UPDATE*
No rain or thunderstorms at all that affected my area today. Some parts of Long Island weren't spared though.
Overall...All Clear! :D
-
Wow, today was quite the doozy! :lol
Today was forecasted for a 30% chance of an isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon.
Well, at 2:45 PM - 3:05 PM, my area was slammed with torrential downfall and tiny hail. I was pretty surprised at that. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued and expected to expire at 3:15 PM. There was a line of strong thunderstorms moving southeast at 35 MPH according to radar it seems. Before the storm, the temperature was 81°F (~27.2°C), but after it subsided, it was 61°F (~16.1°C)! It was only for a little bit before recovering back to the lower 70s. Right now the temperature is 76°F (~24.4°C). But overall, it was much cooler after the event and the skies cleared out completely. :)
-
I'll post a quick update regarding the weather for my area here. If nobody else will post from hereon out, I'll only do occasional updates.
So a lot of the days has been in the upper 80s °F and decently humid. But today has been oppressive. With a dew point of 75°F (~23.9°C) all day and a temperature of 88°F (~31.1°C), the heat index reached 98°F (~36.7°C). Despite the risk of scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon to early evening hours, nothing really happened. Today was Partly Cloudy.
Talk about a Florida-like climate, eh? ;)
At least a cold front will pass through soon, dropping the temperatures to a still warm but cooler 81°F (~27.2°C) tomorrow.
-
It's been a while since I posted here. Today's temperature is about 17°C with 38% of rain.
-
Cooler today. Dew point is lower as well, though not at that optimal level I desire. Today reached 83°F (~28.3°C).
-
About the same weather as yesterday. The temperature should remain at 17°C and the chance of precipitation is 24%.
-
A bit cooler than yesterday. Dew point is lower again. Today's high is 79°F (26.1°C).
Wow, Alaska is much hotter than usual with a dome of High Pressure dominant over the region. Anchorage reached 90°F (~32.2°C) for the first time ever on July 4, 2019. It shattered their previous record high temperature of 85°F, set back in June 14, 1969. Talk about experiencing heat that people down in the south experience basically everyday in the Summer.
-
24°C today, which has been typical of the weather lately, although the weather notification on my phone says that there'll be drastic temperature changes later on.
-
Right now, it's 87°F (~30.6°C). Most of the week will be in the upper 80s, with some days in the mid 80s. I really wish that the night time temperatures provided some better relief, but so far it has been upper 60s to lower 70s. :(
For most of the week, there will be sunshine. I would actually appreciate rain in this time of year, since it does cool temperatures down significantly...at the price of humidity levels being a bit high though. Temperatures do tend to rebound after a rain event, so it's only temporary. But, it's better than nothing at least. :)
-
There's gonna be a heat wave that will affect the Midwest, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast in the United States in the next couple of days. Record highs in the daytime have the potential to be broken, with temperatures ranging in the low 90s to the low 100s. Nighttime record highs are also expected with temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s, providing basically no relief at all to the sweltering heat in the day. Also, expect very humid conditions as well with dew points in the low to mid 70s, making heat indexes easily soar above the century mark.
Currently for me, it's 91°F (~32.8°C), feels like temp of 103°F (~39.4°C), and a dew point of 75°F (~23.9°C). A heat advisory is in effect because of these conditions.
Even before this, temps in my area have been in the upper 80s for weeks already, making it an above average summer so far in terms of temperature.

I hear you. It's been getting gradually hotter here too, to the point that night hasn't been cooling it off that much any more. Although we just got a massive rainstorm earlier this afternoon which has been ongoing since.
-
The past two nights have been miserable...temperature wise, my AC is really a life saver. :DD
Even at 1:30 AM after Midnight, the outside temperature is literally still 80°F (~26.7°C) with oppressive humidity as well. Yesterday was 96°F (~35.6°C) and today it reached up to 98°F (~36.7°C). A heat index here was up to 111°F (~44°C) at one point as well. As such, an Excessive Heat Warning and Air Quality Alert are issued for these two days. But relief will come though as a cold front will pass through, and tomorrow there will be scattered thunderstorms with a 50% chance of rain, some of them may be severe. I can't wait for Tuesday, as the daytime high is only expected to be around 74°F (~23.3°C) or so. :)
-
Much cooler today! :^^spike
A line of heavy thunderstorms is expected to move into my area soon, prompting a Flash Flood Warning which is expected to last until 10:15 PM EST. I'm also under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10:00 PM, and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 8:00 PM EST.
-
Do you have AC built into your house? Or do you have a mobile AC unit in your bedroom?
-
There's an AC unit in my bedroom. There's also an AC unit in the dining room where the computer is. :)
What I'm more worried about is the recent European heat waves. Many of them don't have AC to cool down, and nighttime temperatures won't be much relief for them. This has been the second one so far this summer. Remember the one a few weeks ago? It broke some records, and this time around more high temperature records are being broken.
-
It's been getting steadily hotter here as well. Some days reach 30°C. Although today it's down to 20, and a breeze has picked up, which is nice.
:^^spike
It was quite hot when I was on vacation in British Columbia as well. There was one day that was supposed to reach 37°C, although thankfully I'd left town by then. My cousin (who lives in BC) wasn't too thrilled about it though.
-
It has actually gotten much cooler here. Temperatures at night are more comfortable, with most nights now being below 20°C. Daytime highs are only in the low 80s Fahrenheit now, and dew points/humidity are more comfortable as well.
As a matter of fact, at the current time I'm writing this, it's 1°F above 20°C (69°F), and temps will drop even further overnight.
-
It's cooled down here as well. 15°C today. It'll be a bit warmer over the next several days, but in the 20-25 range, which is still cooler than the previous few weeks.
-
Yesterday night was 63°F (~17.2°C), and tonight is expected to be 62°F (~16.7°C). The dew point today was 50°F (10°C), the lowest it has been for the past month or so. It'll still be quite awhile before the AC can be put away, but I'm liking the cooler temps. :)
-
I'm liking them as well. It still tends to be rather warm during the day, but it's been cooling off quite a bit at night, which helps me sleep better.
-
As we approach fall, the temperatures have been considerably cooler, and the dew points are lower on average too. Temps in the day are mostly in the 70s now, nighttime temps are in the mid 50s by next week.
Anyone heard of Hurricane Dorian? Maximum sustained winds of 185 mph were reported, a nasty major Category 5 hurricane that went directly over parts of the Bahamas. It's expected to make a turn northward then northeast before hitting Florida, but the impacts are still expected to be horrible for them. Yep, a very quiet start to the Hurricane Season in the Atlantic does not mean that the entire season will be quiet or insignificant.
-
Tonight’s low will be the coolest for the entire month of September for me, it seems. 47°F (~8.3°C) is the low for tonight, and I’m very happy about that, as it leaves for a very comfortable sleep without any fans running. Nighttime temperatures will quickly rebound however, going back to the low to mid 60’s °F in 2-3 days.
At one point pretty recently, there were six named tropical storms/hurricanes at once, with one of them now at Tropical Depression status as it drenches the Texas coastline with heavy rain and flooding.
-
It's around 8°C for the low for me these days but it looks like later this week starting Thursday it's going to drop to -1°C as a low and 6°C as a high. It's supposed to rain as well so maybe there will be some sneaky snow falling as well
-
My city got hit with an impressive snowstorm today.
-
Nice, StardustSoldier! Here on Long Island, it's still not even close to the temperature required for snow, let alone any winter precipitation. On Wednesday, it will heat up to 86°F (30°C) before cooling down to 64°F (~17.8°C) the following day. After that, it will be a pretty long stretch of temperatures that are 20°C or lower for the daytime. :D
-
^And just like that, here comes the freezing temperatures. Tomorrow night will be the coldest night so far, dropping to 21°F (-6.1°C). The day will start out with a comfortable 53°F (~11.7°C) however.
It may or may not be the first snowflakes of the season for me as well, depending on how the precipitation and the temperatures align with each other. The rain may end before seeing that transition to snow, but who knows. I’ll update on that tomorrow.
-
Yep. It's getting pretty cold here too. Lots of snow out right now. Although earlier this afternoon it was only -13°C, so my dad and I took the huskies out for a walk. The sun was out, so it was a pleasant walk in the countryside.
-

Lol, so ~8.6°F is pleasant weather for you? Yep, that’s Canada for you. :p
We did get that transition to snow by the way! It happened right around 1:30 PM today, and it stopped right about now at 3:30 PM. No snow accumulation, but then again the ground must’ve been pretty warm since the temperature all day yesterday and this morning has been in the 50s °F. That, and the snowfall was relatively light.
-
I meant 'pleasant' in that the walk itself was enjoyable. Even though the temperature was rather low, the bright sun and clear sky made it feel warmer. That, and I hadn't done a major walk in over a month (and normally I'm an avid walker), so the chance for some exercise was refreshing.
I do notice I said "only" -13°C, which granted is already pretty cold. But compared to, say, -25 or so, -13 is relatively mild.

The only question I have for you at this point though was why you couldn’t perform a major walk for the past month or so. Surely the warmer temperatures would be enticing, right? Or were there other things that you had to focus your attention to?
And yeah, I agree. The sun warms you up pretty nicely no matter the temperature, and it feels very comfortable on your skin as well. :)
-
It wasn't that I was unable to go out for a walk, necessarily. But for a few different reasons, I just didn't get around to it. The weather was already starting to get colder, for one thing. Winter typically doesn't bother me much, and I still like to do occasional winter walks. All the same, the cooling weather did make it harder to find the motivation. I also had this massive novella project for a client that I was working on constantly for nearly two whole months. I spent many restless nights at my computer with a large mug of coffee trying to get it all done. :p And lastly, my grandmother passed away very suddenly late in October, and so my brother and I then flew out to a different province to attend the funeral and spend time with our extended family.
So in answer to your question, yeah, my lack of walking was basically just because I had other things occupying my attention.
-
That must be stressful, hehe. I’ve drank so much soda over the years that the caffeine doesn’t seem to have an effect on me anymore. In fact, I think it actually makes me more tired at this point. It’s probably because I need much more caffeine than I used to need to acquire the same alertness effect. And since I’m drinking less of it now, that’s probably the reason why.
If I continue to procrastinate too much, I fear that I won’t get anything done ever, or I would just stay up all night all the time to get things done. :p
I’m sorry to hear about another passing of a loved one. Hopefully it felt easier to cope with considering that you have experienced death like this before.

You can definitely get acclimatized to caffeine until it retards the effects without needing a larger dose. You'd probably need to switch to a different stimulant (like water) just to get that same effect.

Nice and frosty out today.

4 days ago, my area had the first “real” snowfall event, since snow actually accumulated on the ground. About 2 to 4 inches in total, and a Winter Weather Advisory to go with it. Took about 2 days for all the snow to completely dissipate on the ground. Temperatures were above freezing for the entire time it snowed too. The precipitation began as rain before transitioning to snow.
-
Been a while since I've posted here. Today was a fun day at work with having to work outside in -22°C weather. At least there was a decent amount of forklift driving and they have heat. Also didn't get it stuck in the snow as well so that's a plus :p
-
^Yikes. Those are certainly frosty conditions to be working in.
We had a snowfall here last night, although it's only -6°C right now.
-
Yeah it wasn't the greatest, though starting tomorrow I'm gonna get hit with some cold weather for the next week, ranging from -32°C to -42°C with the windchill according to the forecast.
-
My weather is a huge contrast to yours Flathead770. Starting tonight and into tomorrow morning, there will be rain with very windy conditions. Tomorrow's temperature is expected to be in the low 60s°F. That is pretty close to the record high, I'd say. It will cool down after that, but it's still quite surprising to see how warm it can get in January.
-
Got up to around 0°C today. It felt amazing after last week's -40 fiasco :p
-
Coldest temperature recorded in my area so far was only 18°F (~-7.8°C) this season. Outlook of snow this week and next week is basically none. Temperatures ranging between 5°C - 10°C in the day time, or 40s°F, and nighttime temperatures ranging between below freezing, at freezing, or above freezing depending on the day. Expecting a lot of rain from a storm system on Saturday.
February and maybe March are the two months left where I can still get significant snowfall until Spring officially kicks into gear and it gets too warm for it.
-
Looks like this will be one of the mildest winters in my lifetime so far. Temperatures of 10°C or above seems to be the definite forecast for this week and also next week. On the bright side, none of my snow days for school are used up this year for once. :)
-
Cold.. O so cold.. ❄️
-
Update: There seems to be snow on the forecast on Friday night, but total accumulations look very bleak. It is four days away though, so the forecast may be subject to change.
-
Update: The cold is abating, but still not warm.
-
It goes to show just how warm it is early in the year when it already reached 65°F on Monday this week. And today is expected to be 66°F. Whereas last year, that kind of temperature in my area was non-existent until May basically.
:olittlefoot
-
70’s and higher.. O humidity, please forsake me.
-
Alright, tonight is 29°F. While my area seems to have these occasional nights where the temperature gets a bit cold, but even then, it very quickly rebounds on the next day and night. The current temperature right now is 42°F.
-
Windy and cool 60oF
-
For tonight and the next two days, showers/rain is expected for my area.
-
Cool 50’sF, and high winds.
-
The last day below freezing so far seems to be tomorrow night, forecasted to be 29°F. After that, 40s seem to dominate.
-
Windy, 70oF, 70% humidity.
-
Currently, the temperature is 46°F, with Fair Skies. Dew Point of 24° with a humidity of 43%. Winds NNW at 15 MPH. It feels like 39°F.
-
Rain.. lots of rain. 🌧💦
-
It rained a lot earlier today, although surprisingly snow did fall in my area, for like a couple of minutes or so. The rain/snow border was close for some time, so sometimes swathes of snow may dip southward for brief moments. Right now, the temperature is 38°F.
-
Windy, low humid, 74oF.
-
Currently 39°F with Clear Skies. Tomorrow is 47°F with a 50% of showers.
-
In the sun.. Crematoria. But there is a nice wind. :)
-
No sun for me. Cloudy Skies with a current temperature of 46°F. Expected to drop down to 34°F for tonight’s low.
-
@ImpracticalDino I’ll trade my hot weather for your cold water. :p
-
I hate hot weather, although temperatures in the 60s and 70s is not bad and pretty comfortable. :)
Tomorrow’s high for my area though is 53°F with sunshine. :)
-
Was decently warm for awhile but I've had a few -10°C days still. Even got a little nit of snow the past couple days. Nothing big though, probably around 1 -2 cm at most. Still got a decent amount of snow kicking around as it hasn't gotten warm enough yet to melt. Currently feels like -9°C but it's nice and sunny out.
I hate hot weather, although temperatures in the 60s and 70s is not bad and pretty comfortable.
I'm not the biggest fan of warm weather either. Once it starts getting above 25°C (77°F) then it starts getting a little too uncomfortable for me.
-

I agree. One huge factor that also contributes to how uncomfortable I feel once it reaches 25°C and above is the dew point, or humidity. Generally speaking, 80°F and a dew point of 55°F or lower is ideal. At that level, the humidity is 43%. I remember when I was over reliant on looking at the percentage of humidity to determine how moist the air is. But in reality, dew point is the better indicator. Because 43% humidity at 80°F is drastically different than 43% humidity at 100°F. At that point, the latter’s dew point is much higher than 55°F, therefore much more muggy and unbearable.
Below 25°C however, humidity doesn’t really matter too much in how you feel.
-
Cooling down. Wind glorious wind!
-
Only 39°F right now, but yet my hands and feet are freezing. That’s what happens when your body starts to acclimatize to the warming weather, but the slightly colder temperatures return for a tiny bit. :p
-
A little cooler.. but not enough.,
-
Tonight is expected to be 45°F with showers. Tomorrow though will be much warmer, at 62°F, or slightly above 15°C. The rest of the week is expected to be 50°F (10°C) or above in the daytime on average, with some wavering expected.
-
Warm.. how I hate thee.
-
Tomorrow, rain will start to develop in the afternoon hours with a high of 51°F (~10°C). The entire day on Sunday is also expected to rain with the same temperature as well.
-
Windy and warm, 75oF
-
Back down to -20°C with the windchill :PCera
-
70’s ans Windy.
-
Back down to -20°C with the windchill :PCera
Not surprisingly...Alberta is still stuck in Winter. :p
But then again, the previous year my area was stuck in Winter until May basically, so eh. :P
Temperatures being in the 50s or near the 10°C this time of year is actually around average for my area. So it’s surprising to see that rather than above average temperatures, which dominated throughout winter.
-
83oF, windy.
-
83oF, windy.
Alright, now that temperature is a bit too toasty for my liking...
Right now, it's 48°F. There's a Dense Fog Advisory currently in effect until 6:00 AM Monday.
-
Getting really cold.. ❄️
-
Getting warmer here actually. It is now 63°F with sunshine in my area.
-
Warmer.. a lot warmer.
-
Some nights are still relatively cool, in the low 40s. Occasionally it'll go into the upper 40s.
-
Freezing, when its suppose to be warm.
-
Raining tonight with a low of 47°F.
-
60’s, Windy.
-
Just started snowing here. :PCera
-
Just started snowing here. :PCera
Ugh, I’m not gonna see any snow until the next winter season. :(petrie
And hopefully temperatures won’t be above average for mostly the entire winter.
-
Snow is nice at first, but then it becomes a cold flaky prison! :p
-
Not to me. I find the snow quite pleasant. :^^spike
-
Still expected to snow in the following days and weeks Stardust?
-
I'm not sure about later in the month, but the forecast calls for rain on Friday, and then some snow on Saturday. :^^spike
-
Dang man. For the next 10 days, the coldest my area will get is only down to 37°F at nighttime. :(
-
Come to Alberta. :Mo
-
Got to love spring tornado warnings! :bestsharptooth But on the bright side the weather should be settling down for the next few days.
-
This Monday, I'm expected to have heavy rain with sustained winds of 25 - 40 MPH. One inch or higher of rainfall is expected. A high of 60°F, or around 15°C.
-
44oF tonight.
-
As the storm passed two days ago, sunshine and very low humidity returns. Right now it's 52°F (~11°C) with a very low dew point of 19°, resulting in 27% humidity. Tomorrow night is expected to be the coldest night, with a low of 35°F.

50’s and cold winds.

Another cold plunge as tonight drops to 36°F.
-
74F/23C Tonight :areyouserious
-
48-55F, gusty winds.
-
A little better today, 68F/20C :rolleye
-
62oF and barely any wind.
-
Welcome back to the forum, @Mouse-a-saur. :)
-
60’s and windy.

Thank you, @StardustSoldier ! I'm glad to be back :)littlefoot
Today is 78F/26C ;)Cera
-
60’s and light winds.
@Mouse-a-saur welcome back! A Bron fan! At last a fan if Bron. :)
-
Partly cloudy, day high of 42F and night low of 32F. At least we can expect to see warmer temperatures by next week.
-
70’s and very windy.
-
Last Wednesday was the last day we had with cooler temperatures, below 60F. Had some rain last Friday, but it looks like it'll remain mostly clear for the entire week ahead. However, temperature is expected to eventually rise as high as 80F by this Friday, so I decided to take the time this weekend to put in the air conditioner in the window of my room.
-
Rainy, Sunny, and Chilly.
-
Yesterday was the first day over 80F, and looking at the forecast, it'll reach 90F on Wednesday, with rain expected for the following two days. At least it'll be a little cooler this weekend.
-
Temperature whiplash this week. Two days ago was pretty warm, yesterday was only in the upper 70s, today reached 90°F, tomorrow is 87°F before cooling down considerably the next day over. I'm also under a Tornado Watch until 8 PM, although luckily we haven't seen any scattered storms hit us today yet.
-
As far as I can recall, this week is the first time all summer to have multiple days in a row in which temperatures were not quite as high as 80F. Too bad it won't last long and go back up to 80 by the end of next week.
-
Gradually getting cooler as the days get shorter. :)
Wed and Thu will reach 79°F, maybe 80°F. Then for Friday and the weekend the temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s in the daytime hours.
-
EVERYTHING'S ON FIIIIIIRE!!! (I'm on the West Coast!!)
-
by fire you mean hot temperature, or forest fire? (I hope the former)
Pretty warm here, in first days of September. Hope there will be "Indian summer".
-
It's the latter, unfortunately :/ The sky over my house is an eerie yellow color, and we can't go outside because of the smoke
-
Oh my gosh, that's gotta be awful...I'm sorry to hear about that. :ChomperOhNo Just today I was reading the news about the fires.
-
Yikes, that's terrible to hear Sharpely. I hope you're doing alright pal. :(
But anyways, the weather has continuously gotten cooler here. Now temperatures no longer reach in the 80s anymore, only mid 70s max. And for the past two days the high temps have been in the upper 60s, with lows in the low 50s.
-
Here's some frosty photos I took from my apartment window a few days ago.

Wow. Brrr! I'm really glad it doesn't look like that where I am yet, I'm not ready for winter... :ChomperOhhh
-
The coldest it has gotten so far for my area is tonight actually, with a low of 40°F. But things will warm up pretty smoothly as we head on into the next week, with lows going back to the upper 50s at night. So at least I won’t be freezing when I wake up for school everyday next week, hopefully. :)
-
Meanwhile, the snow is picking up over here. :PCera

Looks beautiful!
Where I live I have never seen snow at this time. Snow doesn't fall here before the late November, when it does fall at all. So you are lucky, if you like snow. I would like to know how cold it is there now and what temperature do you have. We're having 9°C at the moment.
-
Haha, yeah, where I live it can start snowing as early as September. :p A lot of folks here aren't happy about the colder weather right now, but I really don't mind. There is indeed a part of me that enjoys winter. :)
I've talked to other GoF members who have more consistent temperatures year round, but where I live it tends to fluctuate a lot more. Our hottest days tend to reach 35°C and our coldest tend to reach -25°C.
Right now it's -6°C outside.
-
The temperatures in your country can be truly extreme. -6°C! I hope you are in a warm place! Unfortunately you have to keep in many public buildings the windows open, because Corona, so it is really uncomfortable there now. At least the face mask keeps you warm. :DD
Everything has also his good sites!
Have a great winter!!!
-
Thankfully my apartment is pretty warm. And I have a steaming mug of french vanilla here with me right now. :)
You have yourself a great winter as well!
-
0°C and first snow here.
-
Weather is overcast. Typical Florida.
-
Now it's raining.
-
First comes the cold (Sneak), then the hot (LittleDas75), and now here comes the moderate (me). :petrieLOL
Cloudy skies for today and tonight, with a low of 60°F and fog developing overnight. Tomorrow is 72°F before finally cooling off into the 60s the following days.
-
It's once again raining. God I hate living in this state.
-
Well, we got a bit of a cold front for the last few days, and today, snow hit! It's not much, but it seems winter hit early here! Time for a cozy seat, bundled up in front of the fire place with some hot cocoa. (Yeah, I wish! Don't have a fireplace where I live. At least I can get three out of four. :littlefoot:) )
-
It's gotten a lot chillier over here, which I enjoy a lot. :Mo It's the perfect weather to be bundled up in a blanket and to watch an old movie. I wasn't expecting the temperature to drop until December, so this was a welcome surprise. :)littlefoot
-
It has gotten cooler here as well! Lows in the upper 40s overall this week with temps only reaching 60°F at most in the day.
-
It has gotten cooler here as well! Lows in the upper 40s overall this week with temps only reaching 60°F at most in the day.
Pretty much the same thing for me as well. And seeing as it's unlikely to get any warmer next week, I decided to take out my air conditioner today.
-
It's getting real cold here faster than I first thought. Friday night's low is expected to drop to 32°F (0°C)! :olittlefoot :duckyOK
-
It's raining now. :( Today it is very warm (14°C/57°F).
-
A few weeks ago, a cold front hit the area and it's been cold since. I'm talking in the twenties. On top of that, not one snowflake in sight, but I do expect some soon. So yeah, just freezing around here. Even the heater is struggling sometimes.
We'll see how things change overtime.
-
9°C right now. The weather has been warmer than usual for this time of year these past few weeks. Not much snow either. But I do live in Canada, so that could well change soon.
:yum
-
Just got our first snow accumulation here in Vermont today. In addition, looks like the forecast for the entire week is going to be for cloudy skies, which is really unfortunate, because I've heard about a rare event in the night sky occurring this month where the planets Jupiter and Saturn will appear closer together than the width of a full moon on the 21st, the closest they've been in nearly 800 years. It would be a real shame if I missed seeing this due to endless cloudy skies.
-
Update!
So, snow came through during the last week. Not much, but it's been snowing on and off for a few days now. There's definitely a nice layer of white outside at this moment.
I'm expecting more before Christmas hits.
-
There's a nice layer of white here too. So far December has been a milder month for us than November, interestingly. But I too would expect some more before Christmas arrives.
:olittlefoot
-
Well, it was raining all day since the early morning. Just recently, that rain turned into snow.
Yep, the April Snow in my area before we get to True Spring.
Yeah, happens every year around here. :P
-
I do not approve of the weather here this April, nope nope nope. Snow, hail, sun, worst of all.... the wind. Cant wait for everything to stabilize a bit more.
-
Speaking of April Snow, we're getting some right now, albeit it's relatively mild today.
Edit: It's getting thicker now, haha.
-
Yep, it definitely did get thicker.
-
Pretty good spring here now. Warm temperature, no snow and little rain.
-
Cold weather.
-
Tomorrow's high temperature is expected to reach 70F for the first time this spring, and with today being clear and sunny with a modest breeze, I figured today would be an excellent time to put in the air conditioner in my room. It may not get warm enough for me to use it for probably another week, but at least I'll feel comfortable having it all set up and ready whenever I need it.
-
It was a nicer 72F after being 89F all week; now it’ll be up to 76F. :ShortyDisgusted
-
last week was first hot sunny days, and today is first thunderstorm this year.
-
81F/27C today :DocSerious
-
second thunderstorm. wow
-
It got cloudy, which I’m grateful for. Still 82F though :OzzyAngry
-
third thunderstorm in a row...
stop
I want to go outside already!
And it's still very hot here
-
Had a good amount of wet, heavy snow last night. The hedges certainly did not like it as they were all drooping under the weight :bestsharptooth Still have a bit of snow on the ground today and it's currently 2°C
Got some interesting pictures out of it though that I'll get around to editing soon
-
79F/26C Here :rhett_ohsnap
-
Temps went over 80F for the first time this year. It seems spring here in Vermont these days doesn't last more than a month.
-
67F/19C right now, but it'll get hotter :facepalm
-
We are in a drought over here. We have reached over 100F, which we don't usually get until later in the year. (At least Early July.)
Water has started to have restrictions put on to it. (With steep fines if you go over said restrictions.) As a result, people have hoarded water. You can guess what's happening at my workplace. Oh, and yellow grass is becoming the norm.
Yeah, not a good time here.
-
Whereas the grass is pretty lush and green here. It's just really, really hot. 37C today! :! :DD
-
Very hot and humid. 35C/95F :ShortyDisgusted
-
fifth day of +30 - +35 heat..
This is HELL
-
27C right now; not great but could be worse :rhett_smile
-
Cloudy with 30 degrees
-
At long last, it rained today! The drought has ended! :celebrate
Hopefully, those restrictions will end and we can get back to normal around here.
-
It'll be 30C today at the highest :ShortyDisgusted
-
Still scorching hot. 36C, and it'll remain as such for the next few days. :!
Edit: 38C tomorrow, it says!
-
It’ll be 31C today :rhett_upset
-
25 C in the morning
-
Fina, lly, rain helped a little. Now it is +25C since yesterday
-
We might get rain from a tropical storm, but we're not sure :sharptoothgrrr
-
Well, we now have smoke, which is trapping the heat more than usual. As such, 100 F for the past few days has been a common occurrence. Can't wait for it to cool down a little.
-
there was +34C again... T-T
-
It’ll be 31C today :feelsbadman
-
According to my computer it's hazy tonight whatever that means.
-
no heat for last three days here
-
RAIN…EVERY…DAY…DURING…SUMMER…VACATION!!
(but not today, it’s sunny today! :ChomperPOG)
-
rain...
I want.. rain...
Actually, it was yesterday. :D
-
So, it's smoky again. However, it is now cooler than usual as a result. I mean, the morning was in the 60s and it's now in the low 80s. You don't get that here in August. You just don't. Some think it's screwed up, but I'm not complaining.
-
90F today :feelsbadman
-
No heat for two weeks already. :O
But it is rainy now...
-
Seems you brought the rain, it's a real downpour here now :rhett_brag
-
Been raining today and yesterday too here actually, which has kept the temperatures a bit cool here. Although it will be warming up considerably in the next upcoming days, in the upper 80s!
-
In my area, there’s now an heat wave, with RAIN…I hope there’s no rain when I go to Deerfield, MA on Wednesday…
-
33C right now :ShortyDisgusted
-
Just recently, the weather is saying there won’t be rain, there’s gonna be THUNDER!
-
32C :thudstonk
-
10C today. Much cooler than the previous several weeks.
Not only that, but it's been raining continuously all morning. Which is good; I already like the rain as it is, but we really need it right now to help dissipate the smoky haze from all the forest fires.
Edit: Afternoon now and it's still raining.
-
Hurricane Henri has currently hit our state. I had to get a drive to camp today and even with an umbrella, I’m still soaked.
-
82F today with very dense fog reducing visbility :rhett_shocked
-
Currently a cooler night tonight, will drop down to 57°F degrees with Clear Skies. :)
Will warm up to the 80s this Sunday and Monday though, summer is still sticking for awhile!
-
Suddenly, there's Silint Hill in the middle of the night.
Scary...
-
I'm no longer seeing any forecast temperatures over 70F, so it seems summer is effectively over.
-
It keeps creeping back up into the 80s :areyouserious
-
Very strange weather today.
Every hour - cycle of calm sunny weather without a cloud and stormy rainy cloudy weather. O_o Changes are very fast.
-
This past weekend, it cooled down enough that we briefly had frost one morning, so I decided it was time to remove the air condition in my room. Good decision, because temperatures so far this week have been in the low 50s F, with occasional rain and wind gusts.
-
Last night and today, we had very strong winds and rain around my area. Luckily I didn’t get a power outage.
-
It's raining...
...and I'm not a huge fan of that. :areyouserious
-
Foggy and rainy.
-
endless autumn rains
-
Temperature is supposed to peak at 13°C today, which is remarkably warm here for being late in November.
-
First snow. First big snowfall.
Hello, winter! :D
-
Finally got cold here.
Normally, our seasons here is either "Hot" or "Hot".
-
Getting colder out. The big freeze is getting freezier. More days where the temperature drops below 0°C, and we're supposed to get another snowfall tonight.
-
Fog
-
Tomorrow were planning on getting 3-6 inches of snow. I hope that’s enough to get us the first snow day of the high school year.
-
Good winter continues! Snow and normal temperature.
-
It's getting hotter ( :rhett_sad) but at least there have been high winds to take some of the heat off :rainbowThinking
-
It was the best winter in past decade.
Goodbye... Now, when snow melted: welcome, spring! :D
-
It was the best winter in past decade.
Goodbye... Now, when snow melted: welcome, spring! :D
ahh missouri winters. just as burning as before.
-
It's a cool, cloudy night. Which is a nice change - in the past week there were nights where it absolutely bucketed down with rain. It kept me awake :neutral Nice to get a calm, dry night.
-
It's no longer cold enough for snow, and it's expected to get a little warmer next week, so it looks like it won't be much longer before we get to see some spring weather here in Vermont.
-
Going to be sunny with some clouds tonight today, but all day tomorrow and Wednesday, it’s gonna rain.
-
The temperature is rising and so is the humidity level :ChomperEww
-
It seems my expectation of spring weather was premature. We got an accumulation of heavy wet snow last night, and since a lot of plants were just beginning to sprout leaves in anticipation of spring, that inevitably resulted in some branches breaking off from some trees. While I'm fortunate to have not faced a power failure like some other places apparently have, one of the two trees in my front yard actually broke in such a way that it split right down the middle of the trunk all the way to the ground, all because of some heavy wet snowfall. There's no way to save that tree, so my dad will have to cut down the remainder of it and clear it away, once the weather improves. In hindsight, I'm glad I cleared away that huge bush in front of my window last autumn, because I don't want to imagine the damage it might've done as a result of last night's late winter storm.
-
First thunderstorm in this year!
-
oof same, there was a tornado watch where I am. Tordnados are so cool though!
-
Earlier this week, temperatures were below 60F with some occasional rain. Later next week, temperatures will reach over 80F with clear skies. Looks like the period of mild weather between winter and summer will be lasting for only the next few days.
-
It rained last night, but the temperatures overall just keep rising :grandpa
-
Nice good warm sunny spring here. ^^
-
In my area, the temperatures are starting to rise, meaning that summer is pretty much almost here in my area.
-
Cold, and wet. Not that I mind, since I'm indoors most of the time :bestsharptooth
-
it flooded...
-
I can now definitively say that there is one particular weather condition that I despise most of all, and it's a hot and humid night, like what we had last night. The issue I have is that during the summer months when I have the air conditioner in my window, a lot of bugs tend to somehow get into the house, and with how late I typically stay up, that means my room is often the only one with any significant light. There were so many of those pesky bugs flying around last that that swinging a fly swatter around just wasn't enough, so I resorted to using a handheld vacuum cleaner to clear away as many as I could find.
And this is in Vermont. I don't even want to imagine how much worse it could be in one of the southern states.
-
Summer weather is officially coming I guess. It was in the 90s during the weekends, and although it’s much cooler today, there’s going to be more hot weather again by the weekend (luckily it’s in the 80s, so not that hot).
-
We had strong hail today.
Summer is pretty ok so far, no torturing heat or rains.
-
Fourth day of 30+ heat without rains here. :O It's torture.
-
Looks like today will be the last day with temperatures over 70F, falling to the 50s F for much of next week with a few rainy days over 60F. Not yet cold enough to remove the air conditioner, but no longer hot enough that I would need to use it every day.
-
First snow. winter is coming. :O
-
That's cool! I wish I could get some snow. It's going to rain all week where I am. :areyouserious
-
Lots of rain this weekend, followed by consistently cold temperatures for all of next week (40s F during the day and below freezing at night). When I saw this on the weather forecast, I decided yesterday was a good time to remove the air conditioner from my room, so I got that taken care of.
-
Pretty warm here. It is said we have 100 years temperature record for this time of season in local area.
-
I really wanna trade climates with you Sneak. It's been cold and cloudy for two weeks, I just want to be warm! :anger
-
Recently there was a snowstorm.
But generally, it's nice beginning of the winter here. with constant freezy temperature, snow, and almost without ice where you can fall.
-
Freezing cold. Sometimes I wish that I had feathers.
-
Definitely got cold and windy the last few days, but at least things should start to improve soon. While I was fortunate to have never lost the power at my house during that winter storm, several over homes in the area did lose power for some time, including my grandmother who had considered staying over with me and my parents until power was restored at her home after just over a day. Also, while on the road to visit the new home my brother and his wife recently moved into, my family and I had noticed quite a few trees had toppled over from the storm, one of which even landed on someone's house (no idea who lived there or how they're doing now, but the roof was definitely damaged).
-
Currently 36 degrees Fahrenheit outside.
-
From last Thursday to yesterday, it was very warm for this time of year in Vermont, up to 80F (hot enough that I decided to put in the air conditioner in my room the day before that hot weather began). Today, it's raining and temperatures later this week are expected to drop back to a more seasonably average.
-
Had been cool, starting to warm up.
-
Still too warm, although we finally broke our dry spell yesterday. Tiny bit of rain after 4 weeks without.
-
Cold roday, 56oF during the afternoon.
-
we have week of thunderstorms
it's good actually, since we also have a heat.
-
Getting hot, 86 to 94 Fahrenheit.
-
It has now been almost a week since the last time temperatures exceeded 80F, and next week's highest temperatures are expected to barely reach 70F. After how hot this summer has been, I'm looking forward to cooler weather over the next few months.
-
Heavy rain and thunder.
-
At last, normal temperature for a long walk. We have had -25 - -30 C for week.
-
Pleasant today. 54F/12C :Tickles
-
Warmest day of the season/month so far. Today's high was 76°F, but tonight will cool down to a comfortable 48°F.

That's Russia for ya. :facepalm :smucky
On the plus side, weather in my area is around what you'd expect for spring, now sort of heading into summer. Temperate temperatures, relatively cool at night still, temperatures range from cool in day time to warm, but not anything summer hot yet. Warmest it had gotten so far was around 82°F, but that was for one day.
Also, April 25th was the last day during this year where my area experienced a low temperature that was (close) to the freezing point.
-
I'm loving how it feels today. So-o-o much cooler and less humid compared to the rest of the summer days so far. Only getting up to a high of 75°F, but the dewpoint is at a very comfortable 40°F, leaving the humidity at just below or around 30%. :D
Unfortunately this only lasts a day, tomorrow is cloudy and much more humid, then even worse with Thunderstorms on Sunday. Well, still better than sunny and humid though, to be fair. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, not looking too bad, but still not close to being as good as today.
-
Got some heavy thunderstorms passing through the area right now. Already saw the lights flicker briefly a couple times, so hopefully the power stays on for the rest of the night.
-

I hope everything turned out okay, Mu-u-u-ud Brother!
As for my area... well... quite uneventful. Just like the past prior summers, though. Not that the fishy can complain. Well it always sucks to be very humid everyday, but that's summer here for ya. It'll be even worse, when by Sunday or Monday next week it should get up to 90°F during the day. So with the humidity it'll be even more unbearable than it already is.
Speaking of weather... may make a whole separate detailing the details, timeline, events of the Storm of the Century, or the Superstorm of 1993 to be more specific. I'm quite obsessed with that event, so as long as attention span permits... I'd be glad to get a discussion thread going about it. Would be especially interesting, considering the amount of members here that were born before 1993 to have been able to experience it if you live in America, on the eastern side at least.
-
Pretty hot summer here. But with rains and storms.
-
cooling off. it was a pretty typical summer temps here today
-
Hottest day today, so far...
90°F, very humid
Also, right now, almost 10pm still 80°F air temperature outside, so not much relief. Will have more relief later down the week.
-
Not go-o-od this week, o-o-o-oh no, no, no-o-o-o! :duckyworried
Monday was Partly Cloudy, however it's gonna be quite rainy from Tuesday-Friday, with Tuesday (yesterday) and Friday being the most rainy days this week.
-
We had a big storm today.
And I have encountered first twister in my life. Right in front of me. I was at home. Some windows were torn out in nearest house where twister hit, and a lot of torn trees in its path.
-

Mo-o-o hope everyone was alright from the tornado, Sneak! :opetrie
Very scary to hear it actually went through your neighborhood, almost near your house too. Based on the damage described, it was a weak tornado, right? But if it went directly through some houses, that would be real ba-a-a-ad.
:redclawscared
-
yes, it was a weak, Though we never ever had such tornadoes in our city. Not I or my parents recall.
-
Mo-o-o-o see! Glad it wasn't too bad! I've never seen a tornado here before, but one time Mo-o-o did get a Tornado Warning alert on my phone. Supposedly the tornado happened like maybe... 50 or more miles west of us. Closest a tornado had touched down within the region during my lifetime. It was quite stormy and windy that day, regardless.
-
It's autumn. And it's hot. :^^spike I love it!
-
It seems temperatures are finally dropping with the change of season. It's now been well over a week since the last time it got over 70F, and it looks like this week will barely get above 60F, with lows reaching as far as 40F.
-

Temps in Mo-o-o's area is quite similar, though temps will drop at night towards the mid 40s Fahrenheit in the next 2 days, so slightly warmer than you. And the rest of the nights in the 50s until later next week. In the next week or so, it seems one day will be above 70°F, around 75°F on Saturday, though that's the only day at 70°F or above for me.
And also, anyone in the path of Hurricane Milton, Mo-o-o hopes you all stay safe and be prepared!!! Sounds like quite a powerful hurricane will strike, which is quite horrible considering the damages already caused by Hurricane Helene about 2 weeks ago.
-
Temperatures this week are barely getting as high as 60F. Next week, it'll warm up to almost 70F for a few days, then cool back down. It also looks like there will be clear skies for several days, so hopefully that'll give me an opportunity to see that comet that I've supposedly heard would be visible at around this time. (I missed out on possibly seeing any auroras last weekend due to endless rain.)
-
The next 5 days, temps here are all in the 70s, with even one day reaching as high as 77°F supposedly. Then afterwards it will cool back down to the 60s. Looks like the warmer temps have come back after that first taste of autumn sometime ago.
Also, 0 rain in the forecast for next two weeks for now. Past few weeks have seen basically 0 rain as well.
-
Cold Times have come...
Though we still have 0 - +6°C temperature last weeks.
-
It rained quite a lot yesterday, pretty windy as well. Temperatures were in the 60s in the day and 50s at night. But after the storm pass, it's finally colder, with it being 24°F tonight, and 22°F for tomorrow night before warming up by the beginning of next week. So far, don't think we'll see any more snowflakes for the next 2 weeks. But I think it'll be possible after that. Our first snowflakes of the season was only about a week ago, zero accumulations but snowfall was observed.
-
We have temperature above zero the whole month....
wth, weather....
:threehornmad
-
Had some snow accumulation earlier this morning, along with some freezing rain in some places. Looks like winter here in Vermont is not quite over yet...
-
Beautiful sunny weather here
-
The coast of Louisiana two months ago reported it's first ever official Blizzard Warning...meanwhile, my area has missed yet another year of a blizzard! And we didn't get that much snow this year either... which is either go-o-od or ba-a-ad depending on your perspective. :P
Anyway... the spring time flip flop of temperatures is in full swing! With yesterday's high getting up to 78°F (25.5°C) and crashing to a low of 41°F (5°C) overnight. Today has stayed consistently in the mid 40s Fahrenheit all day. Rest of the week will have night temps in the 40s, with one night dropping to near freezing as we get into the month of April.
