What were they thinking?

The AVGN has said this phrase time and again, and it is our turn now.

Post thing in gaming that just make you scratch your head and make you think, "What were they thinking?".

I'll start with Colecovision's Expansion Module.  It allowed you to play Atari 2600 games on a Colecovision.  I'm sure that lawsuit made them go bankrupt.

Okay guys, take it away! :)

He doesn't say that a lot anymore, sadly.

One huge example for this thread would be the addition of Raiden to the mgs series.

So many pokemon games... Generation 1 and 2 were quite enough.

Just as a heads up, I want people to be careful about what they place in threads like this. Of course, everyone has their thoughts, views and opinions but please be considerate about what you write. Bear in mind that what you say may not agree with someone else. I have made an effort of stating the following rule in the Instruction Manual thread pinned at the top of this page that should be noted:

Quote
There is to be NO console warring, slamming, spamming, flaming or anything in relation to promoting why one console/format is superior to another (this also goes for games across different formats and characters). If arguments break out, members will be dealt with accordingly and may be disciplined as a result!!!

I'm not going to shut this thread down coz I'm genuinely interesting to hear different gamers' opinions but the second that arguments break out or fights start, I will be forced to take action. I've had to deal with squabbles before and I don't particularly want to have to do it again. Let's keep it civil people OK?! :)

That's all I wanna say...enjoy! ;)
